jade: ACTUALLY is going for 100 percent completion and actually achieves it. she NEEDS to fulfill the grandpa quest and is so proud of herself for doing it. adores the ginger island expansion. completes the community center by year 1 and audibly cheers when pierre punches morris. loves designing her house and talking to the villagers. has a mod on where she can play as a wolf anthro, as well as graphics mods. marriage candidate: sebastian.

You ever hear of ultimate marvel vs capcom community edition and if so are there any characters you would want added?

Could other characters from The Shadow work well in a fighting game?

1: Yes, absolutely, I've been keeping up with it for a while now and regularly watch the tournament matches. They achieved absolutely astounding results with porting over Infinite's characters as well as making new ones. Movesets are still kinda lacking the flair of original characters but that would be a really unfair standard to judge them by considering all the limitations they have to work around with and have already overcome (different game but I still remember how big of a milestone it was when Brawl modders learned how to code projectiles into new movesets, let alone make new characters, modding entire new characters is brain-breaking work). I'm particularly extremely impressed with Asura, who was never in the games so they had to make an entire new moveset for him and he absolutely feels and plays just like how he should, with slightly less janky camera work he could EASILY pass as a vanilla character (also kudos to the voice actors they got for Captain Commando and Ben Grimm and others, UMVC3 is known for it's quality voice acting and they really help make the characters feel like they always belonged in the game)

Honestly I don't really know which characters I'd want added, I'm happy with what they're able to deliver. I know my boy Juggernaut is in the works and I'm excited for other characters they might bring back, but what I most want to see is new ones, the characters they're adding that were never in the series and they're having to build new stuff for like Ben Grimm. I've seen they're working on mods for Electro and Shocker, which is good, I would be happiest if they could add other Spider-Man villains in there, particularly Mysterio, Sandman who, yes, would be a graphics nightmare but I think has a lot of moveset potential, Doctor Octopus who was so so close to being in the game for real, and of course Rhino, who is definitely redundant next to Haggar and Hulk and Juggernaut but nope, don't care, put Rhino in it right now, just port over Abigail/Zangief assets and you're halfway there.

2: From The Shadow? Hmm, honestly no, not really. The unreleased beat em up I think was as close as you'd get and even that had issues. Overwhelming majority of the agents don't really fight or have things that you can build a fighting game moveset out of, some characters like Myra and Cliff and definitely Jericho can do that but you'd still be really really reaching to give them things to do, and the villains aren't particularly interesting nor do they lend themselves to it as well. You could do a lot of things with The Shadow and with Shiwan Khan, maybe the Voodoo Master or one of the wackier comic characters if you feel like really putting in the work, but at that point you might as well just make a pulp-based fighting game and include them instead of basing it around The Shadow. Playing and obsessing over Disco Elysium is consuming my every waking hour giving me ideas to reconsider how I'd make a videogame based on The Shadow and a fighting game, much as I intend to make one someday, is definitely not one of them.

Okay, so it’s probably not a glitch. Also found some new audio from Dutch and I think the graphics got an upgrade. I was not trying to be artsy here. I’ll take better pics on PC. This is on PS4.

Not everyone has undergarments it seems. Pearson didn’t, Dutch didn’t. I know Bill does because I’ve seen it in the files and through skins mod. Hosea and Sean aren’t here yet in this play through.

I know Sean, Javier, Lenny and i think Charles has it, again, because of the outfit changer mod.

In the morning, Grimshaw, Pearson and Abigail are the earliest ones up so they were already dressed. You can see in some of the pics that others like John weren’t. Kieran was. Tilly in the background wasn’t dressed, but when I turned around, she was.

Jesus. That means John has had his undergarments for years until he bulked up and Abigail has had her nightgown for 8 years. :

Sooo does that mean they all change clothes like the Sims? Just turn around and Woosh?!

Sam/Sebastian Romance Mod

January 2020 Update

This is the official update for the 1.4-compatible Sam/Sebastian romance mod.

This mod will replace heart events and dialogue for several characters to remove any player/villager romance between the farmer and Sam or Sebastian, as well as any implied romance between Sam and Penny, or Sebastian and Abigail. Instead, heart events will take place between Sam and Sebastian, effectively pairing them off with each other.

The player will still be able to date and marry either character, but there are no special heart events or dialogue after marriage.

This mod is not compatible with other mods that make changes to certain dialogue, festival, or event files, as well as the cursors file. A full list of changes can be found under the cut:

thoughts on dst mods!

Oh, i love modding in general. Whenever I get a pc game, usually I play it vanilla for a bit before looking into how to mod it. It’s just. A really creative way to add onto something you love! I love seeing peoples ideas and playing with them!

For DST, I love mod characters and the stuff that deals with art. Y’know me, aesthetics. So I mainly focus on client mods or graphic mods. Like the painted pig houses or trinket variety ones! OH OH Abigail skin mod is also really cute. I prefer that over the canon skins tbh.

Sambastian Mod - 1.4 Update

Finally got around to updating this for the 1.4! Once again, this mod uses SMAPI/Content Patcher to run.

I decided to write up an ~official~ post for playtesting my Sam/Sebastian romance mod. If you’re interested in giving it a try, download the files from Dropbox here. Back up your original files, unzip mine, and place them in the correct folder locations as directed by the readme file.

Since this mod does not change marriage dialogue, I don’t recommend using it if you plan on marrying Sam or Sebastian. I’ve toyed with the idea of editing their marriage dialogue to imply a poly relationship, but I’ve had issues with edited marriage dialogue crashing my game on save, so that’s on hold for now.

Like I mentioned in a recent ask, this mod is currently unfinished. I have played through 2 in-game years without any issues (aside from the aforementioned marriage dialogue), and this test is to let me know if there’s any issues I haven’t encountered yet.

A list of changes this mod makes, as well as potential errors to look for are under this cut.

First, the mod adds new daily dialogue for:

Sam, Vincent, Jodi, Kent

Sebastian, Robin, Maru

Abigail

Jas

I’ve set most of this dialogue to appear at higher heart levels (mostly 10), so that the villagers don’t really talk about Sam and Sebastian being in a relationship until you’ve seen most of the heart events.

Is there a spelling/punctuation error in the dialogue? Let me know, preferably with a screenshot of how it appears in game. Sometimes the game dialogue does not display apostrophes/ellipses, even though they’re present in the dialogue file.

Jas and Vincent also have some extra, unrelated dialogue, because those poor kids desperately need some new things to say.

Note that the boys will not dance with each other at the flower dance, because the coding for that event is fucking impossible to understand, and would also require using special sprites.

Sam’s 10 heart scene is triggered by receiving a letter in the mail, and this letter has been edited to reflect that it will be taking place between him and Sebastian, instead of Sam/Farmer.

Already seen all their heart events? Use ConcernedApe’s save file editing guide if you’d like to watch them again with the mod. Sam’s 10th heart event does not need to be triggered by a letter if you’re playing it a second time. Simply go into town around 8pm to trigger it. 

Also, please let me know if your farmer is visible during Sam’s 10 heart, or Sebastian’s 4, 8, and 10 heart events. They should not be visible if the scene does not involve them, no matter where you enter the map to trigger the event. Sorry, but no creepin’ on the boys from the bushes in my heart scenes. :P

Finally, I edited cursors.xnb to modify the appearance of Sebastian’s motorcycle, and add some bonus train graffiti. If you’re experiencing graphic issues (such as discoloured pixels, or red falling snow), try putting the original file back. If the problem still persists, the issue is probably unrelated to my mod.

Hi there! I see in your FAQ about the zine that illustration artists will "assist with the layout for the recipe instructions". I was wondering if you will have graphic artists or templates to help set up the layouts?

Hi! Thanks for your ask. I put that there because artists (and writers) are expected to overlook their piece(s) in the final draft and make sure that that’s the way it’s supposed to look like before we sent it to print! I will be making a template for artists as well. I’m the formatting mod so if you have any further questions feel free to PM me @halfbloodwitch!
