A trio of Rio Grande GP9s sit at Grand Junction, waiting for the next call. Lead unit 5914 was built in 1955. It would be sold the year after this photo in 1984 to Mid-America Car and leased to Kyle Railways. It would be sold to Loram and used to power one of the rail grinding outfits (as 401 and later DC-1).
