Hate at first sight for DBS

I watched the Battle of the Gods movie and I think I heard about Super but by then I think my interest in Dragonball was over. As far as I was concerned, GT was the finale and I was disconnected from Dragonball news.

I have learnt more about Super through Youtube clips and some reviews here and there. And I immediately hated it. I have never watched a full episode so these reasons are shallow but they are still mine.

TRUMAI! I only recently learnt about Future Trunks in DBS and I was so disgusted. That imposter is not Future Trunks. And whose hellish idea was to pair him with Mai! That's enough to make me curse this show. Doing my baby Trunks dirty like that. I mean GT Trunks was a total chad who had women swooning for him and they have Present Trunks crushing on a middle-aged joke character like Mai! Ugh!!!!

The ending of Future Trunks' story! The hell was that!? Super should have kept its crummy hands off Trunks! It's obvious that Trunks was just used for a cash grab.

Trunks and Goten's age. These kids should be (pre)teens by now, right? So why do they look like they are frozen in time as children?

I don't like Vegeta's outfit. Vegeta's clothing acts similar to Zuko's hair in ATLA. As Vegeta's development progresses, he loses more of his armour. I kind of liked that Vegeta wore completely Earthling clothes in GT. Vegeta wearing his Cell saga armour makes him look dorky and like he is trapped in his glory days or something.

Skinny characters. I hate the stick figure Universe 6 Saiyans. Talk about lazy designs.

Before his training, Gohan looked like a nerdy wimp. When I saw Gohan, I felt a bit disgusted honestly. The Gohan at the end of Z looked scholarly but he still had his muscular physique.

Animation style overall. I don't like it. The animation makes characters like Vegeta and Chi Chi look ugly. Bulma looks like a doll.

Apparently, people hate Kale and Caulifla but I don't know the characters so I can't comment. But for some reason, Kale transforming into a rip-off Broly for real almost made me gag. I don't know why I felt so repulsed.

Existence of Zeno. There are too many gods in DBZ!

Goku's character is tiresome. I have always appreciated Goku's simple character but even kid DB Goku was not so annoying to listen to. Why is Goku like this in Super?

Now there are some things that I have liked about Super.

Android 17 being fleshed out more

Pan is cute.

Krillin has a great family.

Heartfelt moments like Goku saying he will take Pan to the stars.

Goku and Goten bonding.

Future Trunks meeting Android 18 lol

Vegeta's speech to Future Trunks about him needing to be the best

Hercule giving Goku the 100M zeni (my respect for Mr. Satan shot through the roof in that scene, I can ALMOST forgive him for being a total fraud)

There are probably other moments that I have liked but they are not enough for me to give this show a chance. I don't care what Toriyama says. DBS will never be canon to me. I am just so upset that Future Trunks was paired with Mai. Now, if I want to read Future Trunks fanfic, I have to scrape through all that trash. Ugh!

Today you woke up way later than usual. You knew before watching the clock, as you could feel the warmth of the sunlight. You usually woke up around 9 or 10am. But when you watched the clock it was 2PM. Your throat hurts so much, and so does your head. Your husband wasn't home. He's probably around training with Vegeta or saving the world. You didn't wqnt to worry Goten, since he's having a sleepover at the Brief's. And Gohan was minding his own business with Videl and studies. So you could only count on yourself for now. You tried to get up, but miserably failed. Ad even your legs decided to give you up today. That's when you realized, that you fell sick. When I mean sick, I mean badly sick. Hopefully you did not get hurt when you fell since the carpet protected you. You remember buying it because Goku used to often fall of the bed while slepping. Reminding this made you smile. But not for long since your headache just got worse. You've tried to at least get on the bed because even if the carpet was confortable, you were starting to get cold. Yet hot at the same time. But that's how being sick works I guess. You managed to at least get on the bed, earning a sigh of relief. You've closed your eyes waiting for the pain to go away.

That didn't last long as you heard a Saiyan spawning in your room. You've weakly opened your eyes, and seeing a worried Goku. He looked so cute like this. Goku reads the diary giving tips, and even easy recipies that could help healing.

He was so invested he decided to wear the hello kitty apron you usually wear when you're cooking. He looked so cute it just made you blush even more. Which made Goku panic even more since he thought your condition was worse. "Wahhhh!! Hold on Y/n!! I promise I'll heal you!!" He yelled as he rushed downed stairs the diary in his hands. You just decided to close your eyes, as a little smile made it's way onto your face at his clumsiness and cuteness. Your heard him starting to cut something that were probably herbs, and boiling water. He's probably making the tea recipe with a drop of honey you've written. That is always working against a cold. At least it did for Gohan and Goten. You could feel a sweet scent of honey, with what seemed like mint in the air. It relaxed you so much that you didn't even feel the Saiyan's presence in the room. "Y/n!! I've finished making the tea you needed!!" Goku said which startled you. He had a big goofy smile and was very proud of him. It was the cutest of all. He was so excited to see your reaction that he got really close to your face like a little puppy. You've sipped the tea and immediately spit on him.

"Hey!! What was that for?!" Goku yelped as his face burns due to the tea. "Go take a wet towel at the bathroom you dumbass! Quick !!" Goku heard the worry in your voice so he did as you told, and went to the bathroom to relieve the pain. He come back to your shared bedroom with what seemed a wet towel for you. Goku only chuckled scratching his nose. A tic he often does you've noticed. "By the way Y/n... Why did you spit out the tea I've made?" Goku asked rising a eyebrow. "Well...... Why did you put in that tea Goku?" you've asked him. "Oh! I've boiled water, I've cut some mint and some valerianand some lavender, and then when I put it all in the water I've added the drop of honey just like the diary said!!" Goku said sheepishly making you frown. (for those who do not know, valerian is a flower that can be used against colds.) "Maybe the herbs have expired?.." You've mumbled to yourself. Since he has done the exact recipe you've done. They was the only thing that could have messed up the tea. "Oh! And I've added 5 cubes of sugar because I was worried it'd have no taste!!" You were dumbfounded. The way your face dropped, made Goku wonder if something was wrong. "Did it got worse Y/n?" He asked the hint of worry obvious that made you on the point to forget his miserably failure. "Goku take the cup of tea in the kitchen and taste the tea." Goku was confused but only nodded. "Alright I'll be back Y/n!!" He went downstairs with the cup of tea and mumbled. "Why does Y/n wanted me to taste it??" He mumbled. In the kitchen, he sipped the tea and immediately spit it out too. "Wahhhh!! It's way too sweet!!" You've heard the Saiyan scream and smiled. You've expected him to come back directly after but he didn't, so you've waited for him with closed eyes.

When you've heard footsepts in your room you opened your eyes and saw the Saiyan with a new cup of tea. "Hehe... The last one was horrible so I've made a new one following the exact recipe...!" Goku said handing you the new cup of tea, and watching you intensely waiting for the verdict. You've sighed and took a sip, it was perfectly sweet. "Hmmhh! It's perfect! Thank you Goku!!" You've exclaimed as a big smile made it's way onto Goku's face. "Wohoo!! I'm glad you like it!!" You then handed Goku the cup of tea so he can taste it so he sees that he didn't need to add sugar. "Here try it." He immediately accepted the offer and took a sip. "Wahh!! This is super sweet! I love it!" Goku said giving it back to you. If you weren't dick he would have drank all of it but you needed it most. "Hehe of course, I've created this recipe on purpose, it always worked and is sweet. The perfect combination!!" You've said proudly. To be fair, you struggled so hard finding this recipe in the past, trying so many different ingredients just to be sure your future children with Goku would take it easily and it always worked. "You did amazing Y/n! It's a very nice one I'll definitely drink it more often!!" You smiled, his words melting you. You did not told him but you also created many recipes for the muscles. To help him becoming stronger, but you forgot about it in the past due to your children getting less and less sick, so you've completely forgot the diary until today. Speaking about clumsy, he was in the living room, watching tutorials on YouTube about how to fold clothes, since the house was a big mess. He was so invested it looked like the universe would blast if he wasn't doing it right. He even sorted them! After tidying the clothes, he took the vacuum, and sucked up the dust all around the house. Only downstairs though, since he did not want to wake you up. After he finished, he took a break and lied and the couch. Sighing, he wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Phew!! Who could have thought cleaning the house would be so tiring? I really should help Y/n more..." He felt guilty. You two have been marred for a very long time yet he barely helped you out for cleaning. Thinking this only made him wanting to continue. He got up and watched a tutorial about how to wash the dishes, and to wash the clothes, how to dry the clothes, when he finished all do it he was way more sweaty than when he was training making him think. You felt way better, your head hurts a little bit but not your throat, and as you tried to get up you did not fall this time, which made you happy. You smelt a weird scent downstairs so you made your ways towards it, and it lead you to the kitchen. When you entered the kitchen, the frying pan exploded, making you and Goku have a black face. Goku noticed your presence as he laughed akwardly. "Hehe..Hehe.... He... Hey there N/n... When did you woke up do you feel better?.." He asked really wanting to know, but also using this as an excuse to not get killed. "Oh don't call me N/n you're a dead man!!" Goku yelped when he heard you saying that and started running away. You chased after him of course and when you managed to hold his shirt successfully stopping him, you triped. Miserably. "Woah Y/n! Be careful!!" He scolded you for the first time ever. He carried you on put you on the bed. As you pouted wanting to demolish that man. "Leave the rest to me alright?? I promise to clean my mess!!" Goku said as he smiled and made his way downstairs again as you closed your eyes.

I think that was the one shot I've enjoyed writing the most now!! It was so cute and so fun to make!! So I hope you guys will enjoy this as much as I did!!

"MANA HELPP" Y/n and Goku where both snapped from there lovers look at the call that came from Goten, "LET GO OF ME!!" They where both making there way where to Goten was calling from, There in the arms of a furies Bulma was Trunks, she was holding him by his shirt collar. "How dare to speak of matters you have not business in" Bulma hissed. Trunks could escape but not without hurting the woman, so he continued to struggle and held nothing but hatred in his eyes. "I can talk about my mama as I please" He resorted back. The two accessed the situation, Goten was standing near the two, as Vegeta was in a corner simply observing, and Chi-Chi had found her way in a little after Goku and Y/N due to Goten calls. "She isn't your MOTHER" Bulma screamed shaking the boy, "WHY CAN'T YOU GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD??" She was red in the face, "SHE IS MY MOTHER!!! SHE MAY BE MY BLOOD SISTER BUT SHE'S MORE OF A MOTHER THAN YOU EVER WHERE" Trunks had tears, he hated when they talked bad about Y/N, he hated that, he hated they had any right to talk badly about this family, HIS family. Before Bulma could continue, there was a dark aura and sudden warm arm that wrapped around Trunks mid section. Both tensed with fear, "Lets have you put my son down now yea?"  she had a sick smile on and using her other hand she took a tight hold on Bulmas wrist, "Now" She squeezed causing Bulma to wince before letting go of Trunks, who was now safely in Y/N arms. The two women continued to glare at one an other, "I will not allow you to destroy what we have created" Y/N hissed, setting Trunks down and allowing him to run over to where Gohan and Goten stood. "What you created?! I created him! me and MY husband DID!" She screamed taking a shallow swing at Y/N which she easily dodged. "YOU RUINED IT ALL, STOLE MY SON FROM ME" She had tears streaming down her face, she hated Y/N but yet, she had no clue as to why. "I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU WITH MY ENTIRE BEING" She took Y/N by her collar and screamed at her face. "JUST LEAVE OR DIE!" as if there was an echo in her mind, Y/N heard those words over and over,  She never had flashbacks, she had killed the girl she was, but it wasn't Bulma screaming them... no it was her creator, her Father.

"Lord Friza, what should we do with her?" Radiz asked, holding a little Y/N in his arms, as she happily played with his hair. "Whatever you please, as long as she's fit to breed in years to come" He dismissively waved his hand. "But Sir, she'll be only 6, She's far to young" Radiz stood, protectively holding the girl close. "I don't care" Friza tail swished violently, "I want an army of Sayian hybrids, she'll have to mate with your so called prince" Radiz looked horrified, she was so young, surely he was simply joking, not really expecting Vegeta to have sex with her. Nappa asked, waking up from his nap, thinking they where under some kind of attack. "What Vegeta is expected to do with the poor girl?" Radiz saw Y/n began to shake, curled up into herself as a way of protection, she was strong, horrifically so, but she was timid, because she was fearful of the punishment that Friza would force on her. "What the hell are you talking about Radiz, and why is the brat in here?" Vegeta asked, his temper only rising. "You.. You're gonna have to mate with her" Radiz spoke in a whisper toned, being the most sympathetic of the others, he was preparing himself to protect this little girl, he would blame his mother for this weakness but he could never bring himself to hate her. "The hell did you say?" Vegeta stood glaring him. "Who the fuck said that?" Vegeta demanded, "LORD FRIZA" Radiz power lever spiked with his temper rising, Y/N let let out a squeel, running under the covers for just a little more protection. "THE HELL TO THAT, I MAY TAKE OVER PLANETS AND WORK FOR A DAMN MONSTER BUT I WILL NOT SNOOP TO THAT" Vegeta yelled, taring the blankets from Y/N as he snatched her, while she kicked and screamed, he held her firmly by her shoulders "YOU HEAR ME BRAT, HE WILL NOT CONTROL US FOR MUCH LONGER" Vegeta proclaimed, making the other Sayians nod, and Y/N looked at the man, processing his words, and held stars in her eyes, he was her savory. Was he the best to follow, no, could he betray her absolutely, but Y/N trusted Radiz and so she trusted Vegeta. However, she wasn't expecting to only have Vegeta in the end.

~ forward in time to after Vegeta and Bulma getting together ~ (I know long time skip, but hey... the other portion of this flash back is sad but if you want to know it all Comment about it and ill write it!)

"Dad, are you really... are you really dating her?" Bulma had never liked Y/N ever since she arrived and had assisted in the attempt to take over the world, but that wasn't the real reason, she was jealous of what Vegeta and Y/N where, what if they suddenly decided it was time for them to mate? what is Friza had genetically changed Y/N to crave Vegeta?? She insured her dislike for Y/N was known, and continued when Vegeta encouraged it. "I know little, but this is our safety, and she's  a very strong woman, very attractive" He was ashamed of himself, he wanted to protect his daughter, and this was the best place... but for him to actually fall for the woman was beyond either of their wildest dreams. "Listen little, to keep the woman happy, I'm gonna have to pretend to hate you," Her eyes went wide, "D-daddy what are you talking about?" She grabbed onto his arm, confused and hurt, "I love you Y/N but please understand" as he tried to explain again but Bulma walked in, "YOU WORTHLESS BRAT JUST LEAVE OR DIE" Vegeta screamed, causing Y/N to Jump and scream before running out the room in tears.

~Back to present time~

Y/N was shocked, she stood their trying to hold back tears as the memories came flooding back, "YOU CANT TALK TO HER LIKE THAT" Goten and Trunks now both stood defending Y/N... Y/N was surprised, her heart ached and her cheeks where warmed by there love. No one had ever truly stepped up to protector her, Vegeta stole her for her safety but never stood toe to toe with Friza for her. Face to face with Bulma the two kids stood, her two kids.... "That is our mother, watch you words" Goten growled. It surprised all of them, usually with an attitude so close to Goku with his carefree spirit, it surprised the others to watch his energy spike and his face to into a look of pure rage. Bulma was taken back, she was so used to having everything go her way, everyone listened to her, everyone like her, everyone feared her, but yet here she is standing in-front of a group who was doing just that. "I AM BULMA BRIEFS, YOU WILL RESPECT ME" She screamed, tears running down her face, her footsteps where heavy and practical stomp her way between the two boys and went straight to Y/N. "YOU'RE A BITCH" She screamed back in Y/N face "YOU STEAL MY BEST FRIENDS HUSBAND" She took a step closer, causing Y/N to take a calm step back "YOU WHERE CREATED TO FUCK MY HUSBAND.... YOUR ADOPTED FATHER!" That got everyone's attention, "BULMA YOU MADE A PROMISE" It was Vegeta who called, "We had an agreement to never out that!" Y/N face had turned a mix of aw struck and rage. 'She had made a promise to keep that a secret' "Bulma what the hell are you talking about?" It was Goku who stepped in now, standing protectively in front of Y/N. His sudden appearance had knocked Bulma on her ass, she was now raging on the floor. "SHE WAS MADE BY FRIZA, HER ONLY PURPOSE WAS TO PRODUCE OFF SPRING OF SAYIAN KIND" She roared, letting everyone in the area know. Gasps where heard from around the room, others mumbling to each other, sum just staring. Every action but Y/N right back into that shy and timid little girl, the one that she thought she had destroyed long ago, but no she was right back, as if she was once again face to face with Friza at the rightful age of 6. "Oh? thats good" Goku said smiling, he seemed to have wiped the sweat from his forehead. He looked back to Y/N with a bright smile, waiting for her to return it. Y/N was confused for a moment, but she knew Goku so she also knew that her words didn't exactly mean the same to him as they where to others. "i-uh what?" Bulma was aw struck, Chi Chi had made her way into the room at some point and was assisting the woman up onto her feet. "Goku, didn't you hear?" Chi Chi asked, her face pissed but a hopeful gleam in her eyes, as if the news would disgust him. "yeah! and man am I relieved, when she said Vegeta" He huffed shaking his head, hand holding Y/Ns tightly, "I thought that meant we couldn't have kids,but then she said Sayian so now I know" Everyone was flabbergasted, and a bright blush covered Y/N face, "Goku?! KIDS?! WITH HER?" Chi Chi screamed before fainting. "I mean yeah, we already have 2 kids, why not a couple more?"

~Time skip~

The tension, the fighting, the hatred, it all dispersed. With a long and tearful explanation from Y/N and Vegeta, the group seemed to have grown an understanding in a way, the bridge had be burned but some people where making efforts to rebuild it. They knew it would never be the same, not as strong, not as close, it never was with Y/N in the first place, but for Goku that fact stayed true. He loved Y/N more than he could ever express. It was the way she walked, fought, treated the boys, treated him!. She let him live how he wanted while simultaneously keeping him in line, unlike Chi Chi, who forced him into things. Sure they had arguments but they both refused to go to bed fighting, so sometimes they'd simply settle it with a spar. Their wedding was grand, they invited very few people, Vegeta was there to walk Y/N down the aisle and played Gokus best man, and Krillen, Piccolo and Gohan acted as his Groomsmen. As for Y/N she didn't have many bridesmaids, Videl stood as one, as well as her and Gohans new little baby but other than them, that was all she had. She was happy at least, She never thought she would get married in the first place but now she is, a ring on her finger, 2 young boys that call her Ma, and "Y/N YOU SHOULDN'T BE SPARING IN YOUR CONDITION" Gohan and Videl had stopped by for a visit, and where horrified to see Y/N 5 months pregnant sparing with Goku.... Come on now you know the Sons, they work fast, but who said a little baby bump would stop them from doing what they love? Nobody, exactly!!

Letters, Numbers and Emojis used for characters and their ships in Dragon Ball Japanese fandom!

So in Japanese media, it's common to use shorthands to talk about characters or media (if you've read Bakuman you've seen the explanation about "Wanpi (ワンピ)" being used for One Piece (ワンピース, Wan Pi (long vowel) su).

Because of their email/texting system, it's also more common to use one sole symbol to talk about characters, but also to not appear in search functions (posts are rarely tagged :()

Some of these symbols have been widely accepted by the Japanese fandom as a whole, but some others are for personal reference only (and as such, two artists may use the same emoji for different characters and nobody really cares).

Today I'm going to give you just a few of them, if you'd like more, don't hesitate to ask in the replies or in the tags, spread this blog and more ;)

Goku: Goku is usually referred as 🥕 (carot, kakarot) and 59 (五九 ; go-ku). This is why the Cell jacket has a 59! You will also find people using 空 (the second kanji for Goku's name).

Gohan: Obviously, his name meaning "rice" (as in shorthand for meal), Gohan's emoji is🍚 but you will also see 58 (五八 ; go-hachi (close enough)) to talk about him. You will also find people using 飯 (the second kanji for Gohan's name).

Goten: Goten gets🍤(for TENpura) and sometimes it's either 57 (because he's younger than 58 and 59), or more commonly 510 (五ten for go-TEN). You will also find people using 天 (the second kanji for Goten's name), but this is also the first character of Tenshinhan (and it's also used for him, as it's the symbol on his DBS outfit).

57 is also used for GoChi day (五七 go-shichi); this usage is more common than the Goten one.

Because of this, May 9th is Goku day, May 8th is Gohan day, May 10th is Goten day.. and May 7th is Gochi day :p

This is also why in mobile games, you have "Son Family Week" around those days!

(this is why Piccolo Day is funny and why people fight over whether it's Goku day or Piccolo day :p)

Those of you who follow my fic know this already, but Trunks' emoji is 🐯 (tiger, which is read Tora in Japanese.. Because Trunks' name is actually Torankusu :p). People will use トラ (the first two katakana of his name).

If you see ��, that's the first kanji for Future. 来🐯 or 来トラ is the short version for Future Trunks, and 来🍚 or 来飯 is for Future Gohan. Automatic translators will usually read it as Mi-Tora / Next Meal and just go into Blue Screen of Death mode.

So I'll be borrowing TruTen (Trunks x Goten) as an example for how ship names work in Japanese. Unlike in English, however, the order in which you put the characters is important.

天トラ / 🍤🐯: Ten-Tora. In this case, Goten tops.

トラ天 / 🐯🍤: Tora-Ten. In this case, Trunks tops.

It's a little more than just "who tops/bottoms", since the roles are very codified (Uke and Seme tropes if you want to look it up). They're so codified you should be able to tell from the book cover alone which way it's going to be!

So when I mentioned shipping wars in the past post about shipping terminologies for Japanese speakers, it's because the tropes about M/M relations are so strong and engrained in Japanese society that some people will refuse to consider "the other way around" (up to and including blocking each other on social media).

As such for Vegeta/Goku, probably the most popular M/M DB ship, the KakaVege and VegeKaka fans tend to be very opinionated about the "correct" portrayal. Anthologies (collective works) will be either one or the other, but not both at the same time.

The concept of switching isn't very common, and you'll see from the tropes that one has to be the assertive and control type and the other has to be a little more shy, smaller, etc.

In the case of TruTen (トラ天), this translates to Goten usually being smaller and more "delicate" and sensitive than Trunks (and so despite the fact that Goten, as an adult, is a solid 10cm taller than Trunks, but you'll rarely see that in トラ天 content!).

Of course this isn't universal, there are content creators and readers who will appreciate both, and who will appreciate dynamics that fall outside of the traditional tropes, but people tend to purchase stuff more easily if they know what to expect in terms of tropes used.

After all, the whole point of being two men in a relationship is that there's no woman in the relationship. They're gay, your honor!

Note that some content creators will use 89 (or 5859) for the HanKu ship. You have been warned.
