Explore the Holiest City of Gujarat, Dwarka
Dwarka is one of Gujarat's holy cities. Dwarka was Lord Krishna's home during his reign, according to Hindu legend.Dwarka receives its name from the Sanskrit word Dwar, which means "door." Dwarka is the location of Dwarka Pitha, one of Sri Adi Shankaracharya's four fundamental religions. The Archaeological Survey of India undertook the archaeological research at Dwarka, both on land and offshore in the Arabian Sea. Many artifacts were discovered during the first land surveys in 1963. Lord Krishna's importance was demonstrated. Dwarka is a forerunner in the metal craft industry. Dwarka is considered immensely sacred by Hindus and is mentioned in the Mahabharata, Harivansha, Bhagavata Purana, Skanda Purana, and Vishnu Purana.
Dwarka's HistoryAfter renouncing conflict in Mathura, Sri Krishna is said to have created and dwelt in Dwarka. Krishna and Yadavas decided to relocate the capital from Mathura to Dwarka for the sake of the people's safety. The land was reclaimed from the sea at Saurashtra's western coasts, and Dwarka was established on the banks of the Gomti River. Dramatic, Dvaravati, and Kushsthali were all names given to this city. It was previously known as Kushasthali or Dwaravati.

Dwarka's Geography
Dwarka is located in the Gujarat district of Jamnagar. The city is located in India's westernmost region. It is situated between 22.23 degrees north and 68.97 degrees east. The city is located on Gamut Creek's right bank. Dwarka Tourism
Dwarka, considered a sacred city, is well known for its temples and as a Hindu pilgrimage site. Some of the most notable tourist attractions in Dwarka are listed below. The Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as the Jagat Mandir, is a Vaishnava temple established by Raja Jagat Singh Rathore. This temple is one of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimage sites, attracting tourists from all over the world. The temple is brilliantly constructed in traditional lines, with five levels supported by 60 columns and lavishly carved from the base to the summit. It is made of sandstone and has a modest interior with beautiful decorations on the outside. Some of the important holidays, like Janmashtami and Navaratri, are celebrated with great zeal and joy in Dwarka.
Rukmini Devi Temple: Known for some popular stories, the Rukmini Devi Temple is attributed to one of Lord Krishna's major brides. Beautiful murals of Rani Rukmini and her husband adorn the shrine walls. It is thought to have been constructed in the 12th century. This is one of India's most beautiful temples, located on the fringes of Gujarat.
Beyt Dwarka: A journey to Dwarka isn't really complete without a visit to the Beyt Dwarka. On the island off the coast, there is a Hindu temple. The temple was built in the nineteenth century and houses shrines and pictures of Krishna and his 56 consorts.
Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, which is located on the outskirts of Dwarka. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and according to the Shiva Puranas, Lord Shiva killed the demon Daruka here and stayed there a few years.Aside from these, there are Gomati Ghat temples, the Gita Mandir, and the Cuttack Chandi temple, and the Dwarka Pitha is one of Adi Shankaracharya's four cardinal mathas. On the western outskirts of Dwarka, there is a lake or tank known as Gopi Talav. In Bet Dwarka, there is a similar lake called Gopi Chandan, which means Gopi's sandal paste; this mud is found in the lake's bed.
The primary festival celebrated here is Janmashtami, which occurs between the months of August and September. Several night-long celebrations commemorate Krishna's birth. Bhajans and sermons are part of the festivities. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is the closest, located 216 kilometers from Dwarka. The western railway connects the city with Ahmedabad by direct trains.
Last but not least to explore the city, everyone needs a place to stay and a ginger hotel comes into the picture to help the travelers. A good 3-star hotel in Gujarat, Dwarka which is also nearby to the railway station and airport.
