🏕: At times, Matthew will take Tolvydas on a little camping trip with him. They go stargazing, roast some sausages/fish/beetles (and try not to let Tolvydas' pet wolf steal them, because YOU KNOW he will if you give him half a chance!), make s'mores, tell scary stories around the campfire (Matthew watching Tolvydas get excited and invested in the story as he tells one of the scariest horror stories he can think up at the moment), go hiking, watch the sunset, play some games together, have picnics (once again, they gotta make sure Tolys' pet wolf DOES NOT steal any!), snuggle in a hammock, go fishing, etc.

For winter camping, they pick a nice campground with plenty of hills, good to go sledding. They also get to walk around and/or skate on a frozen lake, go hiking in the snow, have warm food/drinks next to the campfire, have hot cocoa, ice fishing, bonfires, go to a natural hotspring, and ride snowmobiles.

For spring camping, they have picnics, visit a local farmer's market, do some mini golf, bonfires, hike though the beautiful blossom-trees, fly some kites, paddleboat, etc.

For summer camping, they throw water balloons at each other (as the pet wolf barks at the water balloons flying back and forth), shoot each other with waterguns (the pet wolf keeps trying to get in the middle of it, and gets splashed with the waterguns), tye-dye some shirts together, go swimming in the lake (Tolys decides to start a splash fight with Matt in the lake), bonfires, go kayaking, try some waterskiing, etc.

And for fall camping, they go apple picking, visit local fall faires/festivals, bonfires, carve some pumpkins, go to a corn maze, a hayride, horseback riding, go on a date in a pumpkin patch, play football, go hiking through the trees with the colorful leaves, have some local apple cider, have some caramel apples, and go to drive-in horror movies together.

I am overwhelmed with school-work tonight so I’m going to take a breather and check back in to write about the trip.

We left town on Friday night last week around 8 when I got out of work and we were staying about 2 and a half hours away, but somehow we didn’t get there ‘til like 11:30. I knew I wanted a hotel on the nicer side from the jump, but it really exceeded what I had in mind. The bed was so big and comfy and I’m missing it right now. As much as we were excited to just be there together, alone, it wasn’t long until we passed out the first night honestly. 

The next morning we got breakfast in bed and we had tickets to go to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water-park which was like our big thing for the trip, but the morning forecast was showing a good chance of thunderstorms. (Just like every other day for the past 2 weeks. Thanks, Florida!) So we decided not to go right at open incase it got shut down for weather like an hour after we got there, ‘cause you don’t get a rain check on those bad boys. The tickets are good through the year, so we could always make a day trip out of it another weekend, worst case scenario. In the meantime, while we waited it out we planned to try and go to an aquarium nearby. On the way to the aquarium though, we got side-tracked by a cool looking mini-golf course across the street. A huge part of our relationship thus far has been facing off at Kirby Dream Course on our friend’s Switch with the SNES library thing. We had mentioned that we should play a real mini-golf match someday, so we stopped by there first. I held my own for awhile but got my ass kicked in the last half. I’m already planning a rematch in my mind.

After that we went back to the aquarium idea. We were thirsty though, and down the road was actually the World’s Largest McDonald’s (right in Orlando, Florida!) Let me tell you, that was absolutely insane. They had a fishtank, elevators which led to an upper floor with a fully functioning arcade (like, a ticket counter you could cash in for dumb little prizes and all) and playplace, a bakery and they served pizza. We got our drinks and pretty quickly dipped out of there because it was a mad house. God bless those employees because we were in there for like 5 minutes and totally overwhelmed, but at the same time we came to the consensus that we could not leave in the morning without experiencing the McPizza, so we decided we would swing back by when we hit the road for home Sunday.

Going back to try and do the aquarium was kind of the epic fail for the day, they were only accepting people with pre-bought tickets. It was within this little sort of outdoor strip mall though, so we made the best of it and kinda walked around there for awhile looking at different shops and restaurants and whatnot. We passed by a lounge bar place which was marketing Fresh Oxygen and inside you could see a few people sitting at the bar, breathing out of little humidifier sort of devices. So I guess we were on the uppity side of town. We got a kick out of that though. 

After that the weather was looking clear so we decided to hit up Blizzard Beach for the last few hours of the day after all. That was a blast as expected, I didn’t get any pictures because my phone was locked up in our locker but rest assured we spent a lot of our time floating around the lazy river. 

Then we went back to the hotel, showered (together, strictly for water conservation purposes of course.) and he forced me to pick where we were going for my birthday dinner. After about another hour of deliberation, because I don’t do decisions, I picked this Italian place where we ate Mac ‘n Cheese balls, Bruschetta, Bread, I got Alfredo and he got a really tasty Chicken Parmesan. I think it’s technically a chain place so I kind of didn’t have extremely high expectations but it actually knocked my socks off, the Mac ‘n Cheese balls especially. We ended out the night getting some drinks back at the hotel by the hot tub, lounging in bed watching basketball (huge sports guy, my bf. I learned against my will about the game.) Then lastly we took a late night trip for some milkshakes.

Sadly when we woke up the next morning it was already time to go, so we checked out and made our rounds as promised for a McPizza to take on the road. I gotta say, as pitiful as it looks, it REALLY was not half bad. I’d eat another McPizza, given the opportunity. They had a real pizza oven in the McDonald’s, after all. Just like on the way there, we talked a lot on the way home. 

All in all, I had a great birthday weekend and it was MUCH needed. And going on trips with my boyfriend is really fun, his idea of a good time is very much the most in line with my own of anybody I’ve dated recently, I would say. He’s also very tall and we look cute together. I’m excited for what the future has in store. This weekend is fireworks with friends at the same spot we watched them last year, as friends at the time, but dating this time, which I think is very cute.

Back to grinding out a real paper due Saturday night. If only it came as easily to me as all this did. TTYL.

"Big? More like massive!" He replied.
