The fifth ship!! Eclipss x Stone, AKA, GoldenSmoke. Again, WAY too many scenarios for how these two met, so, uhh… here we go!!

When the trio began going over more often to Eclipss’ mansion, mainly for food or just to hide from police, Stone would spend most of his time lounging around the house. He would mostly just fall asleep on the couches and shit, usually without a blanket, but when he would wake up, there would always be a blanket on him, alongside a science book. And that’s the way it would go every single time.

It didn’t take long for him to find out who kept doing this; it helps that both Connie and Skipp are chronic oversharers. Eclipss was the one taking care of him, leaving him confused. Why would she, of all people, take care of him? Whatever, he thought. But the more time that went on, the more that whatever turned into what the heck? Stone, observing from afar, realized that despite being a wild and feisty girl, Eclipss was very intelligent. She took a special liking towards animal biology. Not quite astrophysics, but still a science!

On especially cold nights, Eclipss would stoke a fire in the library wing of her mansion. Stone, being naturally cold all the time, would be drawn to the warmth of the flames. He would sit in the large armchair with a book on some sort of science. Eclipss would usually be in there doing her own thing, but she never actually talked to Stone knowing that he wasn’t much of a talker. As time went on, they got used to each other and Eclipss would usually initiate the conversation first. Most of the time, responses were one-worded, which was progress to Eclipss.

One night, Eclipss found Stone in the library before she could even start the fire. Once again to her surprise, Stone was already there; and this time, he had lit the fire. Eclipss got closer to thank him, and she noticed he was crying. This shocked Eclipss to her core. She didn’t want to make things worse, so she wrapped him up in a blanket and sat beside him. He was obviously sober, sober enough to be feeling emotions strong enough to cry (I think that Stone gets drunk so that he won’t have to feel).

Stone asked why she was here, why she was helping him. Eclipss looked at him and said it was because she cries too. That seemed to just make Stone cry harder. The poor guy was so embarrassed that he was sobbing like a baby. Eclipss just gently massaged his back and let him cry on her shoulder. After about an hour of crying, Stone finally calmed down and looked at Eclipss, fearing judgment for being so emotional. But she just smiled warmly at him and said that she was happy that he cried and let everything out. That’s when she dropped the bomb.

Eclipss said that she doesn’t know what Stone’s been through, but she too had been through a lot in her life, especially as a kid. She says that she always puts on a mask for the sake of her sisters, which is why she’s so prone to outbursts since she bottles everything up. But her sister’s, her family, had taught her how to open up. She would do anything for her family, and she knows that Stone too would do anything for Vinnie and Skipp.

Stone was surprised, but also very deeply touched. He felt, for the first time, that he could truly open up and tell this girl everything. Of course, he didn’t just spew it all out in one go. Over the time of the next several months, Stone slowly started opening up. Once he had opened up to Eclipss, he started opening up to Vinnie and Skipp.

What was even crazier was that Stone was starting to become closer to Eclipss. He constantly sought out her approval and begrudgingly accepted the fact that he may or may not have a tiny little smidge of a crush on her. As for Eclipss, she knew perfectly well how Stone felt about her. She liked him since day one. But she let him take things at his own pace, wanting him to learn on his own how to open up and love people romantically. It was a painfully slow burn for Eclipss’ family and Stone’s little family, but they waited it out for Eclipss’ sake; she also just threatened Vinnie to stop making Stone uncomfortable because they both wanted this to happen.

Even after the two started somewhat dating, they never really displayed much PDA. Eclipss would stay close to Stone’s side when they went out together. They are comfortable enough to do lovey-dovey things in front of their families; Stone loves cuddling with Eclipss while she strokes his hair and Eclipss likes falling asleep on his lap while he’s reading, especially on cold winter nights.
