..No matter what yesterday brought or tomorrow brings today is a chance to be made new. If the same God who created the earth from nothing, restored Job, redeemed Ruth, and saved Esther (and her people) created you, then he can take your mistakes and turn them in to a masterpiece. If the same God who sent His Son to be born of a virgin and crucified for our Sins so that we might have New life and be reconciled unto him loved you enough to save you once, then why would he love you less when you stumble or fall? Jesus not only restored to life a little girl, but he healed a woman who had been sick, rejected, and overlooked on the way.

So, as a new day begins, let us consider the words of Isaiah 43:19 as not only a promise of the past, but a promise of our present, and our Future. God said: "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." not to pacify us, but to remind us that we are not Forgotten, Abandoned, Rejected, too Broken, too Confused, too small, too Big, too "Messed up", too Far, too Abused to find Comfort, Love, Grace, Mercy, Peace, Identity, Restoration, Purpose in his Arms and Presence.

Let this day that the Lord has made be the one where you, truly, Rejoice and are able to be Glad in it. Let this day be the day that you turn away from the Bottle, the search for "Likes" and 😍 on Social Media, comfort in tearing someone else down, "relief" in demeaning yourself, familiarity in being a doormat or emotional/physical "punching bag" for someone else, pushing away your loved ones, but looking for comfort in the arms of someone else, smiling instead of speaking up and asking for help, or running away from your calling because you're too worried about what someone else thinks rather than embracing the fact that you've been called to Lead by Example or Speak for the benefit of others by Living and Praising the Lord. Why?

Because God is able to do a New thing in You, your wilderness, your brokenness, your busy life, your desert. God is able and present and working to Do Something New. So, take the time today to surrender all and gift yourself the "gift of Goodbye". Let go of your problems and troubles (internal, external, person, and things) that have hindered you from being able to see that in the midst of your struggle God sent his Son. And, not only that, but He gave his word, surrounded you with people who Love you without conditions, and is waiting to give his Love and Spirit that we might Abide in him as He makes us New.

LEAVING HOME TO GO HOME

Zuhause verlassen, um nach Hause zu gehen - das war mein Motto. So hat es sich angefühlt. Schön, aber auch wirklich traurig und schwer.

Dementsprechend war der Abschied schwer. Es ist nicht einfach, Leute zu verlassen, die einem so ans Herz gewachsen sind, und so weit weg wohnen. Dennoch war es irgendwie ein schöner Abschied, da ich mich auch auf alle meine Leute zuhause gefreut habe. Ich bin unendlich dankbar für die letzten Monate meines Lebens. Nichts hat wie geplant begonnen, und nichts ist so geblieben, wie es geplant war. Alles war anders, was manchmal anstrengend war, wodurch ich aber wachsen konnte. Ich wollte bis Ende Juli in diesem wunderschönen Land, in Knysna, bleiben, und dort mit meiner YfC-Familie leben. Ich wollte mich dort für Gott einsetzen und sein Reich bauen. 

Auch wenn jetzt alles anders gekommen ist, weiß ich, dass Gott mich für diese Zeit dort hingeschickt hat, und dass er mich dort für meine nächste Aufgabe vorbereitet hat. Ich weiß, dass es ein großes Privileg ist, dass ich dort sein durfte, und sehe es wirklich als ein Geschenk.

Ich durfte in meiner Zeit in Südafrika sehr viel über Menschen lernen, über mich selbst und über Gott. Ich durfte Erfahrungen sammeln, die nicht jeder machen kann. Ich durfte Menschen kennenlernen, die zu Familie wurden (die aber leider teilweise am anderen Ende der Welt wohnen - das ist irgendwie ungeschickt).

Und ich weiß auch, dass ich diese Erfahrung niemals hätte machen können ohne eure Unterstützung. Wenn man so weit weg von daheim ist, ist es wirklich so schön zu wissen, dass es Leute gibt, die an einen denken, für einen beten und auch finanziell unterstützen. DANKE an euch! Ihr seid ein riesiger Segen für mich, und ich freu mich so arg über jeden einzelnen von euch in meinem Leben!

Und jetzt wartet schon das nächste Abenteuer - BERLIN - auf mich. Ich bin so gespannt, was Gott vorhat und was ich dort erleben werde. Gerne dürft ihr auch im Gebet dran denken, dass der Start dort gut wird, und dass ich mich schnell einlebe. Ich werde euch weiterhin hier immer wieder auf dem Laufenden halten, dann aber halt nichtmehr als rahelinsuedafrika.

God is calling

I don’t care who you are. God the Father is calling you.  He is calling you into a relationship of love. He is calling you to see His goodness, His love and His faithfulness to humanity.  

 Many look at the state of the world and think that God must not care. Many look at the hurts of life and think God must be indifferent.  Sometimes it may seem that way, but the truth is the exact opposite.  God cares more about you than you could ever fathom.

 He cares what goes on in this world.  He sees the hurt, the turmoil and the pain – and His heart hurts. He grieves at where humanity is heading. He is saddened by our pain.

 He cares!  He really does.  He reached out to us, to lift us out of the mess we’ve made.  He sent His Son to die for every pain, every sin and every sorrow. He longs to take hold of us to bring us life, hope and a future.

 But God will not force Himself on us.  He offers everyone on the earth this free gift of life and love, but He will not coerce us to take it.  It’s a gift – a gift of grace, one that we must take.  

 He is calling all of us.  Do you hear him?  He speaks loud and clear.  The Bible says that none of us are without excuse.  He speaks through creation, through the wind, through the stars and the galaxies, through the complexities of the human body, through the way the world is held together.  All of creation cries out His name.  All of creation declares that there is a God.

 How do I know that God loves us?  Because He didn’t leave us in the mess we are in.  He could have left humanity to its own devices.  He could have said, “Sorry, you messed up.  You disobeyed me and now you will have to suffer the consequences.  Tough luck.”

 Yes, there are consequences for our sin.  And that is what we see in the world now.  That is why things are so screwed up.  All the evil, the sin and the sickness is the result of a world that has said “No” to God.  We don’t want you.  We don’t need you. We’re fine without you. We don’t even believe you exist.

 And yet when things go wrong, the first person people want to blame is God.  It’s so ironic.  People say God is not real and yet at the same time want to blame him for the mess we are in.

 The mess we are in is not God’s fault.  It’s our fault for not letting Him be a part of our lives; for allowing the Enemy -the Devil, to have his way.  When we don’t allow God to have His way, we are virtually allowing the devil to have his.

 What is the devil’s way?  His way is sin, sorrow, pain, sickness and evil.  The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy.  But God comes to bring life and life abundant.  Every good thing in our lives comes from God.  He is a good Father and He wants to bless us with life and hope and peace.

 Who will you choose?  What will you choose?  Will you say yes to God?  Yes to life and hope?  No, God won’t fix everything for you.  Having God in your life does not mean you will have no pain.  But He will be with you in the pain.

 He does promise that in the end all will be made right - If not in this life, then in the life to come.  He gives us a hope and a future!  I am so thankful for that.  Honestly, with where the world is right now, I would be so stressed without God.  He gives me hope.  He really does.  

 He speaks to me.  He comforts me.  He blesses me.  His presence goes with me.  He gives me something to look forward to.  I am so thankful for His great love.

"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.” (John 3:16 The Message)

Do I really believer this stuff?  Yes I do.  A resounding yes!

 I have experienced God.  I have seen Him move.  I have seen Him change lives.  I have seen Him do miracles.  I have heard His voice.  He is real. So real.  Whether you believe it or not, “He is coming soon and His reward is with Him.”

 Will you say yes to Him, before it’s too late?  He is calling you.
