What a Christmas time this year. đ”đ„Ž I know we're all struggling but I just need to let it out.
I had been looking forward to this year's Christmas time all year, really! But now it's 4 days till Christmas and I'm sitting here, listening to the rain outside and feeling very exhausted and just meh. I'm down with some kind of the flu, I received my social benefits only today (I applied at the beginning of November and should've gotten it at least on December 1st) so I wasn't able to buy any presents so far, I hope I can still get something for my mother. The money I've received is way less than it was supposed to be, I'll have to deal with this again after Christmas. I'm so exhausted from everything and I'm still waiting for my best friend, my boy cat, whom I love soooo, sooooooo much. He hasn't come home since November 19th and I've spent the last weeks looking for him. I still have hope, I'll be waiting for him and praying every day. đđđ I love him soooooooooo much.
So yeah, I feel a little heavy at the moment, I'm only focusing on my fantasy worlds because that's where I can live the most. I'm trying to recover at the moment. I just feel sad a lot of the time. I want to live with more joy and more hopeful and I'm still trying to do this in the ways that I can right now. I just want things to get a bit better.
I'm grateful though that I have a roof over my head and that I'm warm while outside it's cold and rainy. I'm really, really grateful that I have my mom and that she loves me. ⥠And I'm grateful that we at least were able to buy a Christmas tree and most likely also a goose for Christmas. I'm grateful for the "Harry Potter"-books, which are an immensely great gift to me and I see more and more how great of a gift they are! đđ And I'm grateful for the most wonderful Old Hollywood movies and for Winnie Pooh. Those are things that I really love. đđ»
I hope there are better things ahead next year, this year was so hard. So many of my friends have had a terribly hard year and so many are struggling. I'm trying to not give up on life and see the divine, holy worth in living in itself. I want to believe that it's sacred to be alive and that I can open my heart to it. May God bless us all and may the goodness of God be so visible to us all around, that everything else pales in comparison and is less important. May we feel God's glory regardless of the circumstances! đ đđđđŒ

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(20) In faith.âBetter, through or by faith, corresponding to âthrough unbeliefâ in the preceding clause. Unbelief did not make him doubt, but faith made him confident and strong.
Giving glory to God.âThis phrase does not necessarily refer to a verbal ascription of praise, but may be used of anything which tends to Godâs glory, whether in thought, word, or deed (comp. Joshua 7:19; Ezra 10:11; Jeremiah 13:16; Luke 17:18; John 9:24; Acts 12:23); here it seems to be applied to the frank recognition of Godâs omnipotence involved in Abrahamâs faith.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows the work of his hands. 2 One day provides a word for the next day, and one night declares wisdom unto the next night. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the rights of the LORD are true, they are all just. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy slave warned, and in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy slave also from pride and arrogance; let them not have dominion over me; then I shall be perfect, and I shall be innocent of the great rebellion. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. â Psalm 19 | Hebrew Names Version (HNV) The Hebrew Names Version Bible is in the public domain Cross References: Genesis 1:6-7; Deuteronomy 4:6; Judges 5:31; Nehemiah 9:13; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 33:4; Psalm 51:1-2; Psalm 74:16; Psalm 90:8; Psalm 104:19; Psalm 111:8; Psalm 113:3; Psalm 119:72; Psalm 119:103; Psalm 119:133; Psalm 139:12; Proverbs 23:18; Proverbs 29:18; Isaiah 47:4; Hosea 8:5; Joel 2:16; Romans 1:19-20; Romans 10:18; Revelation 19:2

Section 38 of the SDA relates to 'educational institutions established for religious purposes', of which Covenant Christian School is one. The school's vision and mission make it clear that it has an expressly religious purpose:
Vision: To faithfully serve in God's plan to restore all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Mission: To assist parents in the nurture of their children, by providing a Christ-centred, biblically grounded, culturally engaging and academically rigorous education to equip the children to live for God's glory.

1 Samuel 4: The Lord's Message He Gave Samuel To Eli Comes True
1 And Samuelâs word came to all Israel.
The Philistines Capture the Ark
Now the Israelites went out to fight against the Philistines. The Israelites camped at Ebenezer, and the Philistines at Aphek.Â
2Â The Philistines deployed their forces to meet Israel, and as the battle spread, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who killed about four thousand of them on the battlefield.Â
3 When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, âWhy did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lordâs covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.â
4 So the people sent men to Shiloh, and they brought back the ark of the covenant of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim. And Eliâs two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
5 When the ark of the Lordâs covenant came into the camp, all Israel raised such a great shout that the ground shook.Â
6 Hearing the uproar, the Philistines asked, âWhatâs all this shouting in the Hebrew camp?â
When they learned that the ark of the Lord had come into the camp,Â
7 the Philistines were afraid. âA god has come into the camp,â they said. âOh no! Nothing like this has happened before.Â
8 Weâre doomed! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? They are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the wilderness.Â
9 Be strong, Philistines! Be men, or you will be subject to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Be men, and fight!â
10 So the Philistines fought, and the Israelites were defeated and every man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great; Israel lost thirty thousand foot soldiers.Â
11Â The ark of God was captured, and Eliâs two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.
Death of Eli
12 That same day a Benjamite ran from the battle line and went to Shiloh with his clothes torn and dust on his head.Â
13 When he arrived, there was Eli sitting on his chair by the side of the road, watching, because his heart feared for the ark of God. When the man entered the town and told what had happened, the whole town sent up a cry.
14Â Eli heard the outcry and asked, âWhat is the meaning of this uproar?â
The man hurried over to Eli,Â
15 who was ninety-eight years old and whose eyes had failed so that he could not see.Â
16Â He told Eli, âI have just come from the battle line; I fled from it this very day.â
Eli asked, âWhat happened, my son?â
17 The man who brought the news replied, âIsrael fled before the Philistines, and the army has suffered heavy losses. Also your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured.â
18 When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell backward off his chair by the side of the gate. His neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man, and he was heavy. He had led Israel forty years.
19Â His daughter-in-law, the wife of Phinehas, was pregnant and near the time of delivery. When she heard the news that the ark of God had been captured and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she went into labor and gave birth, but was overcome by her labor pains.Â
20Â As she was dying, the women attending her said, âDonât despair; you have given birth to a son.â But she did not respond or pay any attention.
21 She named the boy Ichabod, saying, âThe Glory has departed from Israelââbecause of the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in-law and her husband.Â
22 She said, âThe Glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.â
