It's not enough to just read the scriptures, you have to go deeper in order to experience it the way God intended.
There are two kinds of people in this world- those who just read the Bible like its any other book and those who actually dig deep, engaging and experiencing God's Words.
This second group sees the Bible as a "living and active" book that is "sharper than any double-edged sword" as it pierces and "judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). The more these people interact with the Bible the more it inspires and changing them from the inside out.
For those who belong in the first group, who want to experience the transformative power, here is how to dig deeper into God's Word
Appreciate the gift you have
The first thing you need to do is understand and appreciate exactly what you are holding in your hands. You have access to a book filled with "scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).
The verse explains why the Bible is so important. It says, "that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Note- Appreciating the gift of the Bible is not for you to turn the Bible into an idol but for you to be reminded of God's goodness and exactly why you need to dig deep into this good book.

Ask for God's help
You cant see the scriptures the way they should be by yourself. You need God's help to transform it from a regular book into the living, active Words of God. This is why you should always pray so that the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and heart so that the scriptures and do its work.
Read it slowly
Take your time reading the scriptures. Go over each line reading and meditating on it so you really understand exactly what the Bible is saying.
Write it down
Just reading the Bible is not enough. In order to dig deep, you have to write it. Reading a portion of the scriptures, then writing it down helps you to understand exactly what you are looking at. The slow process of writing really helps you focus and get fresh insights into the Bible.
 Be curious
To get everything from the Bible, you need to be curious, as inquisitive as a child, unafraid to question what you are reading.
Matthew 18:3 -"Truly I tell you, He said, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
The bible really is an amazing book. It is an invitation from God for us to get to know Him better, forming and deepening an intimate relationship with Him. Knowing this, why wouldn't you want to dig deeper into His Word?
