For Fuck’s Sake
We do not need another Harry Potter Reboot. A reboot should only be for those that have failed or need a better way of retelling the story. The Disney+ Percy Jackson series was needed as the films butchered the story (Kronos was introduced in Book 3) while The Chronicles of Narnia needs a new adaptation after Disney allowed the rights to slip after 2008′s Prince Caspian. There are hundreds of IPs that would make fine adaptations (I would love to see a film adaptation of “Uglies”. I highly doubt it would be adapted. “Titanic 2020″ would have been ideal before Covid, but because the story centres on a pandemic that forced the world into lockdown an adaptation would have been too soon) Plus the target audience (Children and teenagers) is into Percy Jackson and related series now, as well as “Heartstopper”, my generation (The older Millennials) have moved on to things like “Game of Thrones”, “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Cousins’ War” series, while younger Millennials are into manga and New Adult fiction, and with the likelihood “Generation Beta” will have their own era-defining work (Similar to how “Harry Potter” and “The Twilight Saga” was a generation-defining work for Millennials, “The Hunger Games” for Generation Z and “Percy Jackson” will be for Generation Alpha), there won’t be a point to it at all. Not everything need reboots, and we need more original ideas. Although my original stories have a number of inspirations, Achilles Molyneux’s personality (Being quite hyperactive but having a roguish streak to him) is unusual to say the least, to the point in my “Character Notes” I called him a “Roguish Keet” because that’s what the character is, and if my short stories ever get an animated adaptation (I will be willing to allow “The Disco”, “Away At Summer Camp” and “Night Owl” to get adaptations though) I hope they don’t tone down those traits
