I was watching this jdrama the other day, called Jack o’ Frost (pretty niche but you can find it on Viki)

‼️Given - Jack o’ Frost spoilers ahead ‼️

The plots are different ofc, but at some point of the drama it started giving me Given vibes and I didn’t quite get why…

But then this scene came:

It was painfully familiar…

Then I remembered this scene from the Given ova:

• Again, different reasons, different outcomes, but still, MISUNDERSTANDINGS & MISCOMMUNICATION. Uenoyama and Fumiya not talking openly about what upsets them, Mafuyu and Ritsu not picking up on subtle hints/not understanding unless explicitly told…

Didn’t think I’d cry so hard ever again after Given but here we are Ig-

• Also, MEMORIES is another theme they have in common. Mafuyu never really letting go of/forgetting about Yuki and Uenoyama having to deal with Mafuyu’s past; Ritsu losing all his memories about Fumiya and Fumiya, who cherishes those memories so much, watching Ritsu not recognizing him and still staying by his side, hoping he would remember one day.

• Lastly, the SECOND CHANCE/STARTING ANEW, whether it is Mafuyu finding love again in Uenoyama after Yuki or Ritsu and Fumiya “resetting” their relationship, trying to avoid their past mistakes and falling in love all over again.

I didn’t have high expectations on this drama at first tbh, it seemed to have just a bunch of tropes and I wanted sth just to pass the time, but by the time it ended I realized it already got a special place in my heart T-T

Here they used “itterasshai” and “ittekimasu” which are used when you leave home or with ppl you consider family and that’s why Fumiya is giggling so much I can’t 🥹🥹

Given Blu-ray Disc BOX

Hey everyone! This is an unofficial post made to spread information regarding the new GIVEN Disc Box containing recorded content of the GIVEN TV animation 11 episode series, Given: The Movie, and OVA Given: Uragawa no Sonzai. According to Given official website, the box will also contain an OAD "Uragawa no Sonzai" (Limited edition manga volume + 1 episode bonus content), this content has not been mentioned in other websites / is referred equivalent to Given OVA so keep an eye out for any updates as all product benefits and specifications may change without notice!

The box set comes with a limited edition jacket along with a special leaflet from Kizu-sensei, as well as an illustration card, and a bonus video containing non-credit opening and endings. Uragawa no Sonzai IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. I absolutely love it. The song, OMG, the SONG it's perfect 'cause (or just me, idk and idc) I found that the song and Mafuyu and Uenoyama's situation in the manga can be related to each other ... or maybe it's me and my five hours of sleep a day, hehe.

“Given: Uragawa no Sonzai” For OVA

A promotional film for the Given series' OVA was unveiled. The cast members' theme song, "Uragawa no Sonzai," is used prominently in the video. Given: Uragawa no Sonza will be created by Lerche and will be released on December 1st as part of a limited edition of the manga series' seventh volume.

Given, OVA in arrivo con il 7° volume del manga

Annunciata anche una miniserie live-action ispirata all’opera boys love di Natsuki Kizu.

Il sito ufficiale di “Given” ha annunciato che con l’edizione speciale del 7° volume del manga boys love di Natsuki Kizu, edito in Italia da Flashbook Edizioni, sarà allegato un OVA.

L’episodio, intitolato “Uragawa no Sonzai”, sarà quindi disponibile in Giappone dal 1 agosto e una nuova storia incentrata su Mafuyu e Ritsuka, che non è stata raccontata nel precedente film d’animazione. L’adattamento torna ad essere prodotto dallo studio LERCHE (Asobi Asobase, Astra Lost in Space, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun), ma con un inedito tocco alla regia da parte di Akiyo Ohashi (Umibe no Étranger, Sakura Capsule), mentre la sceneggiatura rimarrà a cura di Yuniko Ayana (Hori-san to Miyamura-kun, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) .

Annunciata anche una miniserie live-action di 6 episodi che sbarcherà su Fuji On-Demand il 17 luglio.

In qualche modo, la chitarra che amava suonare e le partite di basket che tanto lo divertivano hanno semplicemente perso la loro attrattiva… È qui che Ritsuka Uenoyama incontra casualmente Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka ha iniziato a perdere la sua passione per la musica nella sua vita quotidiana, ma poi ascolta per la prima volta Mafuyu cantare. La canzone risuona nel suo cuore e la distanza tra loro inizia a cambiare.

Il manga viene serializzato sulle pagine della rivista Cheri+ di Shinshokan dal 2013 e ha già ispirato una sere animata di 11 episodi, trasmessa nell’estate del 2019, oltre che il succitato lungometraggio, uscito invece lo scorso agosto.

Entrambe le produzioni sono state dirette da Hikaru Yamaguchi (Escha Chron) e sono distribuite in streaming per l’Italia da Crunchyroll, in lingua giapponese con sottotitoli in italiano.
