Specter Carlo AU Character notes, this is for things specific to Pinocchio, Carlo, and Romeo. Things like their game mechanics, how they interact, things they’d say or do. I should have everything in here, but should I have to I will just come back here and edit or add what I need to do I don’t make fifty posts with minor changes.
[Chapters 1-3] [Chapters 4&5] [Chapter 6]
Notes on Carlo:
* He cannot harm allies, since he is tied to Pinocchio by being summoned through the star fragment, anybody that he has deemed a friend or ally can’t be hurt by Carlo’s hands.
* He doesn’t have to worry about normal body functions, eating, drinking, sleeping, bathroom breaks, he doesn’t have to worry about any of it.
* He can interact with physical objects, but still cannot use said objects for harm against allies.
* His body works as if it’s an active projector of stars. Shooting stars can cross his body, arauras, galaxies, constilations, nebulas, they can all slide by his body as if you’re watching the sky move out a window.
* When not summoned he is not able to interact with objects, BUT he can still communicate with and watch Pinocchio.
* When not summoned, if Pinocchio happens to be looking at a reflective surface, Carlo can talk through the reflection. He’s almost like a shadow in that capacity.
* When he was alive he was dating Romeo, he never moved on even in death.
* Should Romeo be kept alive after the King of Puppets boss fight, Carlo stays permanently. Since Romeo would still be counted as an active boss Carlo wouldn’t vanish, should an event happen where Romeo was killed at any point after then Carlo would go too regardless of the circumstances.
* When talking through a reflection he is literally Pinocchio’s mimic, he can move and talk, but has none of the visual differences, such as his lack of freckles, brown eyes, outfit, etc.
* Carlo would act as a companion if Romeo is spared since he is permantly active, he will by default stay at the hotel unless Pinocchio drags him along with him.
* Whenever Pinocchio returns to the hotel Carlo will once again default to the hotel until asked to join again.
Note: if he has been made permanent he will have spots that he frequents just like the other characters.
These locations are:
1. He will be actively playing the piano, but only if Antonia is still in that room (this cannot happen if Romeo is playing a record).
2. He will sit on the stairs leading to the courtyard and will be reading, very high chance he’ll be reading ‘Pinocchio’.
3. Should Spring be on the couch next to where Alidoro stands, Carlo will sit on the couch with the cat in his lap.
4. In the courtyard practicing on target dummies.
5. Anywhere that avoids his father.
6. Has a 40% chance of being where Romeo is (except in Gepetto’s room).
* Carlo will appear as soon as the wish stone is used rather than only appearing once the arena is entered, he can be spoken to, but he will not move until the fight has started.
* Carlo will have unique dialogue for each boss while in battle.
* Carlo will grunt when exerting himself or when hit, he will occasionally laugh and it will be boardering on unhinged.
* Carlo will have a chance to prompt Pinocchio to heal himself if his health falls below half or to use a ampoule should Pinocchio aquire a status ailment.
These prompts are: (Truth / Lie)
1. “Heal yourself, idiot.” / “Hey, heal yourself!”
2. “Pay attention! Heal yourself!” / “Eyes up, use a cell if you can!”
3. “If you die I’m not sticking around, literally, keep your health up!” / “Think of yourself for once and heal!”
4. (Break) “You idiot, watch it! You can’t heal properly now!” / “Careful, it’ll be harder to get a full heal like that!”
5. (Corruption) “If you get corrupted like the rest of them I’ll take you out myself.” / “Watch it, don’t end up like the rest of those mindless puppets.”
6. (Decay) “If your weapon breaks I’m not giving you mine.” / “I don’t have a spare weapon on me, just so you know!”
7. (Disruption) “You stupid puppet! Watch out for your heart!” / “Hey, hey! It’s messing with your ergo, watch it!”
8. (Electric Shock) “Wow, the puppet got hurt by blitz, shocking!” / “Remember, you’re a puppet, blitz won’t be good for you!”
9. (Overheat) “Hahaha! Looks like you’re burning up!” / “Oil and fire don’t mix! Put that out, quick!”
10. (Shock) “Oh quit complaining, puppets don’t get tired.” / “You look exhausted, give yourself a moment to catch your breath.”
* In a lies playthough Carlo will compliment Pinocchio on perfect blocks, parrys, dodges, or hits that stagger. In a truth playthrough he will mock and taunt Pinocchio, stating he could do just as good if not better
These prompts are: (Truth / Lies)
1. “Tch. I could’ve done better.” / “Couldn’t have done it better myself.”
2. “I’m surprised you were able to pull that off, honestly.” / “Ha! I knew you could do it!”
3. “Come on, break their weapon already, puppet!” / “Their weapon is bound to break soon!”
4. “You call that a hit?!” / “Yeah! Set ‘em off balance!”
5. “Yeah, I can do that too, you aren’t special.” / “Haha! You’re something else, you know that?!”
Notes on Pinocchio:
* His personality remains largely unchanged from the canon game, he is kind, sweet, and a gentleman. That being said, he still gets some traits from Carlo, who will teach him to think of himself and his self worth more often, rather than Pinocchio running off the needs of everybody else 24/7.
* Depending on what playthrough has been done up to that point, he will either spare or kill Romeo, which will either strengthen the bond between him and Carlo or tear a rift further between them. Truth he dies, lie he lives.
* He is aware that Carlo can and is watching him at all times, but only after first catching him in a reflection.
* Should it be a truth playthrough Pinocchio will never speak, nor emote in any capacity, he will be the very definition of an emotionless, mindless puppet. This ensures that Carlo cannot get attached in any capacity.
* Should it be lies he will gradually speak more, though still not often, Gemini will do 90% of the talking for him, but Pinocchio will emote and gesticulate to communicate. This ensures that Carlo will be more willing to talk and attach himself to Pinocchio.
* Romeo’s fate will be the ultimate factor for Carlo feelings towards Pinocchio. Up to this point in a lie playthrough he would have already had minor doubts, but the catalyst for his change in perception towards Pinocchio will be this choice.
* He will also come to see Carlo as his brother.
Notes on Romeo:
* Still very much in love with Carlo, he too has not moved on.
* If spared he will stay at the hotel, where he will gradually be repaired by Gepetto over the course of the game.
* Romeo will remain at the hotel if spared, he is too damaged to leave the hotel, he could cause either Pinocchio or Carlo to be hurt.
Note: should Romeo be spared, he will remain at the hotel and have locations where he will frequent like the other characters.
These locations are:
1. Leaning on the wall next to the record player, if this is the case he will have already put a random record from Pinocchio’s collection on (this cannot happen if Carlo is playing piano).
2. In Gepetto’s room, he will be behind the Organ upgrading station and he will now have his own chair there so Gepetto can work on him.
3. Behind Eugénie’s work station, he will be admiring the display of cat figurines.
4. In Venigni’s corner, he can be found using the machine next to the legion arm upgrade station.
5. Has a 40% chance to be wherever Carlo is (unless he is in Gepetto’s room).
* He will have a cool down timer and item counter, like the Gold Coin fruit tree, should you return to him he will give you random throwable and/or consumables items. He does not state where he was able to aquire them if asked.
* Talking to him can yield a (bad) joke if prompted. He will always find his own jokes funny.
* Romeo can be asked to sing, he is much better at singing and acting than he is at jokes.
Other Hotel Krat Members Thoughts on Carlo and Romeo:
Carlo
Sophia: They were friends in the past and they’re friends now, she sees Carlo and Pinocchio as her younger brothers.
Gepetto: Claims to love his son, but that’s up in the air. He’s been emotionally neglectful towards him in the past.
Antonia: Carlo and Pinocchio are like grandsons to her. They’re both polite and courteous towards her, if she asked Carlo wouldn’t hesitate to help her with something while Pinocchio was out. Carlo will often play the piano for her if she is in the room to listen.
Eugénie: Indifferent towards him, she thinks he is polite enough, but feels Carlo puts on a front so people will think he’s charming.
Venigni: Could be seen as Carlo and Pinocchio’s eccentric uncle. He loves Carlo’s mischivious tendencies, but sometimes thinks he goes to far with them and won’t hesitate to tell him in an effort to reign Carlo back in.
Gemini: Hesitant at first to trust him, but once Carlo actually starts opening up they tease eachother ceaselessly. They’re often heard throwing light hearted insults at each other.
Polendina: Grateful that Carlo doesn’t hesitate to assist or entertain Antonia when he isn’t able to. He doesn’t often mesh well with Carlo’s personality, but as long as he’s nice to Antonia then he’s good in Polendina’s book.
Pulcinella: He is always ready to welcome Carlo as he does Pinocchio. Like Polendina with Antonia, he’s happy that Carlo gets along so well Venigni. Though isn’t always fond of the things Carlo will get into around the hotel.
Belle: They tolerate each other at best, at worst they’re almost getting into physical altercations. At least they would be if Carlo could actually fight her, but he sure does try.
Romeo
Sophia: They’re pretty good friends. Romeo has a habit of running poetry past her, claiming he only wants the best for Carlo. They often talk about books and theatre.
Gepetto: The only reason he does repairs on Romeo is because of the linger threat of Romeo’s knowledge on him. He hopes he’ll be able to somehow keep Romeo from spilling anything.
Antonia: Thinks he is quite the gentleman. Loves to listen to him sing or recite parts of plays, usually alongside an unwilling and hesitant Carlo.
Eugénie: Besties. Romeo loves hearing her talking about her weapon expertise and he especially loves hearing about her cat collection.
Venigni: Constantly running outfit ideas past him, claiming that he would look perfect in this vest or these pants. Should the day ever come when Romeo could properly wear something over all the rough edges and pipes then Venigni would practically make him a model.
Gemini: They tell each other (bad) jokes non stop. It’s horrible, but it’s great they get along so well. Though Carlo probably wouldn’t agree with how many horrible puns he’s heard.
Polendina: Likes hearing about all the plays and shows that would go on at the opera house. He’s a big theatre man, Romeo says if things ever get back to normal he would be happy to have him and Antonia at the theatre for one of his shows.
Pulcinella: Romeo is very interested in the things that Pinocchio will bring back and if he happens to leave said things behind then Romeo will listen to Pulcinella talk about whatever it is for hours. Pulcinella loves his curiosity, and especially loves that him and Venigni can feel Carlo in so easily if need be.
Belle: She hates him and doesn’t make a secret of it, it’s also the reason her and Carlo don’t get along. Thought Romeo will still try to be polite and civil towards her, she only meets him with scorn. She could never trust a puppet and that isn’t about to change. The only reason she doesn’t dislike Pinocchio is because she is unaware he is one.

It was a privilege to share the same blood as Giuseppe Geppetto. To be his family, his niece and take part in the marvelous worlds of puppets. The privilege to learn from him as his apprentice. The privilege to care for the things he cares for and to have the things he cares for, care deeply for you.

TW here are: Geppetto being motivating and discouraging, anxious reader, mysoginy?, a boy is calling girls stupid
The sun had shown her face seldomly on Krat this morning.
Gepetto laughed at his own thought as he stretched. Already clothed for the day with his usual white shirt, reddish-brown vest and striped pants, he went over his usual routine. His old legs carried him over from the bedroom, to the kitchen and straight to his office without hesitation – yet this morning he halted and leaned back at the sight he was seeing.
He observed silently before sucking in a breath. “I doubt you got a good night’s sleep, yet judging from your work on the butlers,” His head nodded as he eyed the two automated puppets standing as still and tall as candles with toothy, almost cartoon-y smiles. Their teeth, though exaggerated to radiate an ridicouless amount of politeness, shown so brightly it was an almost uplifting sight. The black suits that adorned their mechanical forms were mended and ironed and the paint redone before they were even put in their new clothes. Their eyes and brows, tailored after the customer’s request, almost looked real – warm and inviting even though all their purpose was to serve and obey to noble families at home.
Nobody would truly care whether or not their puppet butlers were physically pleasing to look at – that’s what Geppetto believed as he introduced them to the Workshop Union so many years ago though his marketer colleagues quickly proved how delighted so many families would become. From the wife to the children, to the busy family head that would return home and would greet the puppet first. He himself had grown fond of them and was glad that he let his creative side show when creating puppets personifying entertainment.
“…You were as busy as a bee, dear.” You couldn’t help but turn your head and smile at him, your eyes shining as bright as a star to him. “Thank you, Uncle.” You say, “But this doesn’t prove itself difficult anymore. I believe I’ve learned a lot.” Your eyes would flicker between the puppets and him. Geppetto nodded in return. “Seems like you have. You always had a talent for the art.” “It always impressed me, Uncle. I honestly never thought you’d ever take me in as your apprentice when I was younger.”
His smile broke for a moment before he replaced with pressed lips. He took a breath before looking at you again. “…I always hoped this craft would be staying in the family. Or at least, be carried by it with interest. Your father was never too keen on it as I was and am.”
You nodded along, knowing of his intentions. It was no secret to you either that your old man never showed interest, even in your younger days. Geppetto continued, sounding higher, “But you do, dear. And that is gift enough.” Leaning back, the man took a sip of his warm coffee. “Still, I wasn’t sure to take you in. You’re young and inexperienced compared to most people of Krat.”
“I can learn.” You intervened yet with another smile. “I have so far, haven’t I?” You turn back to gesture to the two butler puppets, their appearance almost as good as new – impeccable if Geppetto didn’t know that they were once broken. Malfunctioning one and two times too much until they tumbled down the stairs with all the trays of wine and juice tainting them and their system.
The older man nodded as he swallowed his drink. “I will not lie. Still, they’ll have to be looked at by me first before anyone else in the public can even see them.”
Your breath hitched slightly in your throat as Geppetto put away his coffee and started a puppet up. Taking a step back, your hands fiddled in a closed position. “I…” You began but felt your mouth too dry for any words and as the springs reacted and ticked, any chance at expressing yourself was out the window.
With a swung, the butler stood straight, its head crooked to the side. The arm bent to a sharp 90°degree, the fingers twitched as if longing to hold a wine glass. As flawless as its toothy smile was, it could barely open its jaw. “Good morning to you, Sir. How ma-may I s-se-serve – serve-“
It tried to repeat its sentence again but could only manage buzzing noise. You winced at the high pitch.
“…The coats and paint are no problem,” You gingerly stepped closer, “…but I…I am afraid I still need some time, and, and lessons on how to repair and set the voice box…and maybe repair the automation…” Your voice grew quieter. Geppetto stood up without a word.
“…You are getting there.” He dusted his vest off, “But do not dive with your head first in. It’s early, go fetch us some fresh bread.” Clumsily you agreed and quickly shut off the puppet. Carefully setting it aside, you could glance from the corner of your eye Uncle leaving the room with his cold coffee in hand.
The door was closed shut with one hand as the other arm tunneled into the sleeve of your old jacket. Skipping over the puddles from last night, you patted yourself down on the way to the bakery. While the road was a skip away, you still hurried over and found yourself glad to be early enough for no other customers to be in there.
The small bell rang as you opened and closed the glass door again and were quickly greeted by the cabinet displaying various loafs. It always surprised you how much variety a bakery as this one offers and had to keep yourself from buying the delicious-looking buns always as well. You had to spend your pocket money wisely here in Krat.
Your eyes scanned the assortment and unwittingly caught your reflection in the glass cabinet. Hair untidy and bags unfortunately showing under your eyes – it left you a bit annoyed yet ashamed that someone like you already managed to look like a mess in the morning – and even more unfortunate was it that the good baker had already spotted you.
“Morning to you, young lady!”
Turning to the voice, your thinly pressed lips turned upwards. “How may I serve you today?” The mechanical replica of a baker’s hat first feigned to fall – before it was quickly set up on round tin. The puppet had a set of extra rosy and round cheeks that suited his crinkled eyes and bright smile. It fit the picture-book image of a kind baker and you noted that this model seemed to have a wavy mustache alongside a yellow-striped apron.
You couldn’t hold back your giggle as you pointed at your order. With another gleeful and automated response, the tray under the loaves moved akin to an assembly line and the baker puppet took each bread and packed them full of vim and vigor.
The ribbon tied to the paper bag was impeccable as expected. And charming as well, to you at least.
Yet as your eyes fell to the register as you handed the money, another round of irregular footsteps entered the small room. Hurrying from around the corner came yet another figure, made out of flesh and bone as her green eyes darted over to you. She strode forward to the puppet and your shoulders fell. “Four sixty-five, was it not?” Adjusting her glasses, her gaze went up from the goods in your arms to the puppet and back to the register. She tucked a strand hair behind her ear. “So sorry for the interruption, this fella once miscalculated the price of the Ciabatta and, well…” Trailing off, she opened the register herself, took the money out the puppet’s palm forcefully before handing you back the change. “This all, right? The usual?”
Her low tone snapped you back from your trance. “Oh!” You let out and stuck the money back into your pocket, “Oh, yes. Yes, it is, I think. For breakfast.”
“You buy that often, don’t you? For the past month now or so?” Her low voice grew as she shifted her weight to the side, her blue apron swinging as she rested her hand to her hips. She watched you carefully as she waited for an answer.
The baker girl could see your eyes darting to the bread. “Oh, I suppose so. A month now, has it been that long?” You stuttered out and finished with a strained laugh. “Felt short to me.”
“You’re not from here.” Finally, she cracked a sneaky smile, “I can tell.” “Oh,” Again, you laugh as you eye the paper bag. “I am not…you got me.”
Quickly you gazed back to the still and smiling puppet. “The good baker here just served me most of the time…I never noticed any miscalculations or getting less change.” Lips quirking upwards briefly, you looked back to the girl. “I would have said something as well if I got too much change, of course.”
“No worries, I’m sure you’d do. Good ol’ Panetti just started getting math wrong…I have to confess there was a wee accident with flour and water a few days ago.” She gave him a few good pats on his shoulder, the metal resounding, “We’d have to send him to the Workshop Union soon or else I’ll come strolling down every time he deals with a customer.”
“Such things are easy to readjust.” You spoke up, “It’s just to rearrange the number system and have him test out a few math problems. As if he was a school boy.”
As she cocked a brow, you inhaled sharply and licked your lips.
With a quick nod, you stepped towards the exit. “Why, anyway, I must head back. Uncle is waiting for his favorite loaves and I’d best deliver while they are warm.” A fast excuse and you were half-way through the door, holding it open with one foot. Thankfully it was the puppet that approached and held the door open for you. The tiny bell resounded again.
A chuckle was heard shortly after and you turned back to see the girl waving at you. “We are looking forward to your patronage again, good puppet maker!”
Your heart jumped at the title. Yet you could not decipher if it was out of anxiety or excitement.
Yet before your lips could quirk up, a small force bumped into your side.
Looking down, you were met with furrowed, dark eyes glancing up to you before snapping to the voice behind. “Roberto!” A woman called out. “Roberto, I told you to take your sister with you!”
As the young boy’s eyes and yours followed to where she was pointing, both of you saw an even smaller, younger little girl struggling to keep up. The weight of the doll that was half her size kept her back but with the way she fiddled and played with its dark curls, you could deduce that she insisted on taking it with her.
“Roberto!”
“I know, Ma!”
The boy suddenly and vehemently shouted out, you couldn’t help but startle. Those dark eyes that seemed simply brooding when on you, were now actively in a glare at his mother and sister.
“I told you though, I don’t wanna! Girls are stupid!”
Instead of quirking up in a nervous smile, your mouth was pressed into a thin line and your glare mimicked the boy’s. He noticed and let out a much softer ‘Sorry, miss.’ before begrudgingly waving his younger sister to follow. Without another glance, you marched back to the workshop.
The latest event left a sour taste in your mouth.
You tried to hide it when entering the kitchen, Geppetto raising a brow as he prepared you two cups of coffee.

M for the oc alphabet soup ask :)
asidkdks keda you know me so well cuz ive got like 9 ocs that start with an M. though rn i'm gonna talk about my oc melma because she is my daughter
tldr: Melma's like pinocchio but made out of goo instead of wood and was born out of a crisis her mother had. didn't have friends that weren't family members until she started high school. she's got wizard autism and is fantasy!italian. got all her life lessons from trash tv. i love her so so much
and fun fact, her family name, occhi, is a reference to pinocchio; his name literally means "pine eyes" but refers to pine nuts, and the type of wood he was built from. similarly, her name, Melma, literally means "slime" in Italian. her mother is named Giuseppa because Gepetto is a diminutive of Giuseppe.
other misc facts
• the pink gem in her chest is a stabilizer core that helps keep her humanoid shape
• she's physically identical to other witches, and ages normally like them, but because her organs are artificial she doesn't have bile sack and thus can't preform magic
• her being an abomination isn't a secret she's actively trying to hide, but no one ever asks her directly so she never brings it up
• sensory hells: loud rooms, music with deep bass, chalk, wool clothing, dry heat, hair touching her face
• she grew up in a town in the Below-Knee region of the Titan; it wasn't as frigid as towns on The Knee, but not as mild as Bonesborough.
• because she's made of mud, she's doesn't have to eat, and plus can't eat most foods. she can have drinks and soft foods, like pudding and soft serves, but thats pretty much it.
• that said, her favorites foods are: lemon blueberry smoothies, amarena cherry gelato, taro boba tea, and broth
• as a child her biggest fears were thunderstorms and snake horses (snorses)
• depending who you ask, she either smells like "warm summer air after a light rain" or "a dank basement"
• she's not a germaphobe but since she hates the feeling of dirt and dust, she keeps a lint roller and wet wipes in her backpack
• her spotify playlist is just 90% lofi covers of popular songs, 2% vocaloid, and 8% binural beats
• her nonas basically run their tiny town's tiny theater, which instilled both small town pride and an appreciation for the arts in her
• she loves old cheesy movie musicals
• when she finally gets a palisman of her own, its this little...thing from the bat queen.
her name is barb <3
#i had SO much more to say and i spent a couple of hours typing it up in my notes app but it won't fit ajdjdks#still though this was super fun!! thank you sm for sending me this <333#answered#oc tag#oc: melma#toh oc#long post

This is totally a joke post. Unless???
Consider the following facts about Penny Polendina:
Born from a single parent
Father is an artisan, based on Gepetto = Giuseppe = Joseph
Mother is named Maria (Fine Wine is so real)
Friend to all living things
Died with her arms outstretched
Returned from the dead
Plot-significant hand injuries
Ascended to divinity
So my point is like what if Penny’s birthday is December 25th?

Day 2: In Which I Have No Strings
If you saw my previous post, the challenge I did yesterday, color a page in a coloring book. My cousin got me a lovely Disney book for Christmas so I needed to use it, and then promptly finished at exactly 11:56 pm. Not a lot of time to blog, so you get me double today, I’ll do another post tonight for day three as well.
How’s this for anxiety? I’m sitting in a library right this second because I love to write in libraries, and in this case, i prefer to be alone, however, in this particular library there is only one table. One of those long dining room table looking jobs that seem to be the only hard surface I can type on. Picture me, and this woman who is concentrating very hard on her work and not trying to make conversation with me, of which I am intensely grateful. We are sitting on the opposite end of the table just painfully ignoring one another like some kind of yuppie couple who cannot divorce because no one wants to let go of the poolhouse. Well, you might be asking, why don’t you just leave? I can actually work out again for the first time since my surgery and this library is down the road from my gym. That way I can type until the very last second. (oh god she’s clicking her pen, headphones don’t fail me now). So let’s get into what I wanted to write about today: Pinocchio.
You will notice, that the houses in the picture are not, in fact, a typical image when you would think of an Italian scenery. That’s because it takes place in the mid-1800s, in northern Italy. Think Tuscany except Disney made it way more northern than it needs to be, which is why everyone is pale, blonde, and white, in the film and you can see the swiss alps in the background. Pinnochio tells the story of a lonely woodcarver named Gepetto (a pet name for Giuseppe-Joseph- with a nickname from Florence, Italy…okay.) The whole story was written by Carlo Collodi, about a puppet named Pinocchio (basically it means “little pine needle” or “little pine” since Pinocchio’s made of pine wood).
Pinocchio realizes that every tie he acts ungrateful or selfish he suffers the consequences. Including but not limited to, having Geppetto being eaten by a “dogfish” (really translators?! It’s the Italian word for shark. get it together). So as opposed to the scene in the film where Pinocchio gets swallowed by the whale, it’s Geppetto.Trust me, no Italian fable is complete without a biblical reference and/or an ungrateful kid.
When I watched it, as a little kid I used to say ‘I’m a real, real, boy!’ which my parents would consistently correct me and tell me, ‘no, you’re a real, real girl!’ had i had the diction at the time I would have said something like “daddy, that is not the line, deal with it,” I picked Pinocchio for a few reasons; 1) so I can nerd out to you guys on Italian fables and my heritage as a whole and 2) because frankly I have not felt like a real, real, anything for a while now. Told someone today that I felt like the scum of the earth.
I felt useless as if I were not doing my due diligence as a member of society. My illness always makes me want to overcompensate because it is like saying “yes! I too think I am garbage but I want to drive the point home and be productive to show you that I AM NOT USELESS!” Has anyone ever judged me or told me that my Post Grad blues was anything but normal? Nope. Does that stop me from thinking it? Absolutely not.
I have been relatively overwhelmed lately, it's not family drama but a lot of stuff just coming down and I'm doing my best to do some stuff for others and be the best friend I could be, I mean my resolution was to just “be better” whatever that may be. The problem is that I often neglect myself and my self-care in the process. Something akin to putting my breathing mask on before I help others. So being forced to sit there and color this page allows me to decompress, mostly it takes me a week to finish one of these pages because I get bored halfway through and stop. This time I was determined to finish one small thing for myself. In this case, just like these posts, I can do something that makes me feel like a real, real, girl.
I mean...it stands to reason...
I’ve got no strings.

Specter Carlo AU events for Chapters 1-3, these will include minor or major changes, even some things don’t change at all. Carlo’s dialogue for when he’s interacted with or battle specific coments for bosses. Lastly the description for a new cutscene that plays during Chapter 2!
I’m excited to start the next couple chapters, I hope this isn’t too big of a post!
[Character Notes] [Chapters 4&5] [Chapter 6]
Chapter 1
* First time Pinocchio wakes up he is unaware of Carlo’s presence, but Gemini when first picked up while he is rebooting will state that he detects something following Pinocchio.
* Carlo does not make himself known right away, but if you are watching Pinocchio’s reflection in the floor of Krat Grand Central Station you will be able to see inconsistencies in what should be a normal reflection.
These inconstancies will include, but are not limited to:
1. His head turning in the opposite direction.
2. His hip cocking.
3. His legion arm will not jerk or twitch during an animation cycle.
4. Should he be holding a weapon that is long enough to touch the ground, the tip of said weapon will tap against the floor.
5. He will roll his shoulders.
* Hound puppets have a chance to act more iratically since they will be able to sense Carlo’s ghost.
* Since a Specter cannot be summoned during the first boss fight, if the decoder has been acquired from a previous playthrough, the Parade Master will comment on Carlo’s pressence.
These comments are:
1. “A ghost whisperer would make for a stellar performance!”
2. “The King has missed that one greatly.”
3. “Do not be shy, step right up and show yourself!”
* The gate to Hotel Krat will not be able to detect Carlo’s presence, so it will not coment on him.
* Sophia is aware of Carlo, but does not state that she is until Pinocchio is. No other characters at Hotel Krat are aware of Carlo unless he is made permanent.
Chapter 2
* When Gemini finally reboots and Pinocchio is able to talk to him for the first time, he will once again bring up that he feels something strange following Pinocchio. Gemini will state: “I can’t help feel like we’re being watched. You don’t have a ghost following you do you?” Followed by laughter.
* Once the abandoned room stargazer has been reached, a cutscene will trigger, this cut scene would have Pinocchio looking into a cracked mirror on the wall where he will catch his reflection. His reflection will speak to him, claiming to be somebody named Carlo and that he is well aware of who Pinocchio is, but not giving much more info past that.
The dialogue and scene will play out as follows:
Pinocchio will activate the stargazer, once he stands he will hear a tap on glass, causing him to turn and face the direction it came from.
There he will see his reflection, but rather than the neutral expression he has carried up to this point the face staring back at him will be smug.
The reflection will state: “About time you acknowledged me. I’ve been following you since the station, but I’m sure you were too busy to notice. My name is Carlo and I’m well aware of who you are, puppet. I aim to keep you alive and I think that’s all you need to know about me.”
His tone will be cocky, laced with faux kindness. As the cutscene ends the fade in will have Gemini making a comment on the scene.
He will state: “Whoa, you really do have a ghost following you, I was just joking! Do you think we can trust that guy?”
* The Mad Donkey will not have altered dialogue, unless he has a spirit box on him he unfortunately will have no idea that Carlo is there
* Gepetto will also have no altered dialogue
* Carlo will coment on the lady in the window, he will have respond differently depending on what Pinocchio says to her.
* If Pinocchio tells the truth and says that it is a doll, Carlo will say: “That was pretty harsh, don’t you think? Guess I should expect that from an emotionless puppet.”
* If Pinocchio lies and says the baby is cute, Carlo will say: “Hmm. A comforting lie, huh? Interesting, I… didn’t expect that from you.”
* Carlo will finally be able to be summoned for the first time before the Scrapped Watchman boss and will comment when he is. Carlo will state: “Ahhh! About time you got here, I can finally stretch my own limbs again.” (Note that if you are playing on a Specter Carlo game you will have no choice but to summon him as you will be unable to start the next boss fight until you do.)
Should you choose to speak to him before fighting the boss the dialogue options are:
“Why do you look like me?”
Carlo will respond: “Don’t worry about it, that’s just a product of the star fragment.”
Gemini will respond: “That doesn’t sound right…”
Carlo will respond: “Well, believe it cricket because it’s the truth.”
“How long have you been following me?”
Carlo will respond: “Since you woke up. Is that a problem? Honestly if it is I don’t really care.”
“Tell me about this boss.” (Carlo will have multiple responses to this question)
1. “You ever seen a regular cop? One that isn’t a puppet? *under his breath* Of course you haven’t look who I’m asking. *At regular volume again* They all suck, but I can tell you that a normal cop would be a million times better than this one.”
2. “Make sure you have a good blitz resistance, I’m not dragging you out of here if you go into shock.”
3. “Heard this guy used to hang out with the kids around here. I can’t imagine he’s very happy about what’s happened to them.”
4. “For a big guy he’s surprisingly mobile. Watch out for flailing limbs… or don’t. I’m not your dad.”
Battle dialogue for the Scrapped Watchman:
1. “This will be therapeutic, I never liked this thing!”
2. “Nobody needs a watchman this big!”
3. (If Carlo gets picked up) “Shit- wait-!” (When he gets back up) “Ugh, okay that hurt a little bit.”
4. “Ohh, Sparky wants to dance!”
5. “Watch the blitz pulses!”
6. “Hmph. Good riddance. I don’t know what the local kids saw in that thing.”
* If Pinocchio takes the whistle back to the kid in the window, once the kid passes, Carlo’s reflection in a nearby window will coment. He will state: “I hope the kid isn’t in pain anymore.”
* Once back at the hotel Antonia will gift Pinocchio his own room, this room will be equipped with a full length mirror which can be used to talk to Carlo at any time.
* This room will also have a bed, should Pinocchio use it he will have an unlimited stamina effect for the next 5 minutes after leaving the hotel.
* Should you talk to Carlo in the mirror now he will have new dialogue.
The dialogue options are:
“Why are you following me?”
Carlo: “I told you already. I’m trying to keep you alive. If you stop existing, then so do I and honestly? I kind of want to exist.”
“Why would you stop existing if I died?”
Carlo: “Think of me as your other half. We’re twin souls, I’m here because of you. Is that good enough for you? No? Too bad.”
“What are you thinking right now?” (Carlo will have multiple responses to this)
1. “I don’t know why Antonia gave you a room, it isn’t like puppets need to rest. Lucky for you though, now you can bother me whenever you want. Not so lucky for me.”
2. “What makes that Polendina puppet so special? Why isn’t he insane like the rest of them? Whatever, not worth thinking about right now.”
3. “Maybe that Eugénie girl can do something with the part you took off the Watchman. Who knows, it might help keep you, and subsequently me, alive.”
4. “Gepetto sure is… something. That’s for sure. I don’t know what you expect me to say about the old man, honestly.”
5. “Keep an eye on Sophia, will you? She’s too nice to have to deal with all of… this.”
6. “You wouldn’t understand, but I want to pet that cat so bad. Humans and puppets are awful, I much prefer the company of animals.”
Chapter 3
* Carlo will remain silent until inside the factory, he will have something to say just before the crate contains the shielded puppet drops. Shards of broken glass hold Pinocchio’s reflection long enough for him to speak. Carlo will state: “I bet that crate is going to fall and something big is gonna pop out of it.”
* Once the crate hits the ground and causes the room to shake he will coment again. He will state: “What did I say.”
* Carlo will coment on the corrupting pool through the reflection of the sludge connected to the sewer pipe. Stating: “Oh this is gross. Watch your step. If you get corrupted it won’t be good for either of us.” Gemini will also coment with: “Yeah, I’m going to have agree with him on that.”
* Carlo will coment on the Fox and the Cat, stating: “You know those two are messing with you, right? Okay. Just making sure.”
* Venigni is unaware of Carlo, so his dialogue will remain unchanged. When he coments on him Venigni will be unable to hear him. Carlo will say: “Yeah, I know that guy. Him and Gepetto were pretty close. Like… REALLY close, if you ask me. Wonder if they still are.”
Carlo will have new dialogue options before the fight with Fuoco, these options are:
“What do you think of Venigni?”
Carlo: “Decent enough guy. Heard he was pretty fun back in the day, before things got messed up.”
“What about Pulcinella?”
Carlo: “What about him? If you’re asking me if I think he’s still alive, I don’t. If somebody ever asks you to find their loved one you should automatically assume they’re dead already. That way nobody gets their hopes up.”
“Tell me about this boss.” (He will have multiple responses to this.)
1. “Oh good. I walking furnace. Me and heat aren’t exactly friends, so thanks for bringing me here, I really appreciate it.”
2. “Try to get all of the oil stains your clothes out before you fight this thing. I can’t exactly put you out if you get set ablaze, okay?”
3. “This thing has been known to set the floor on fire, try using the pipes around the room for cover.”
4. “Keep in mind that it doesn’t just shoot fire at you, it hits pretty damn hard as well. Try to keep out of it’s way. Unless you like getting smacked around.”
Battle dialogue for Fuoco, King’s Flame:
1. “We just started and I’m already too damn hot!”
2. “Watch it, the floor is lava!”
3. “I’m so lucky I don’t sweat.”
4. “Okay, I know I’m hot, but this is ridiculous!”
5. “Fireballs incoming!”
6. “Good riddance, I don’t know how anything could work along side that thing. And also they won’t be able to make any more puppets and whatever.”
* When you get back to the hotel, Sophia will have have something new to say about Carlo when first speaking to her. She will say: “I’m glad Carlo is able to help you, he seems to be doing a good job watching your back.”
* Carlo will have a few new dialogue when spoken to back in Pinocchio’s bedroom.
These dialogue options are:
“Whatre are you thinking about?” (He will have multiple responses to this.)
1. “Think you can make a flamethrower with that thing? That would be pretty handy, nothing like committing some arson.”
2. “Guess I’m glad his butler wasn’t dead. I meant what I said though, just always assume they’re already dead.”
3. “I used to be able to play the piano. It’s been a while though. Makes me wonder if I still know how to play…”

Gepetto = diminutive form of Giuseppe
Giuseppe = Italian form of Joseph
Just saying.
Jesus was relaxing in Heaven when he noticed a familiar looking old man
Wondering if the old man was His father Joseph, Jesus asked him, “Did you, by any chance, ever have a son?”
“Yes,” said the old man, “but he wasn’t my biological son. He was born by a miracle, by the intervention of a magical being from the heavens.”
“Very interesting,” said Jesus. “Did this boy ever have to fight temptation?”
“Oh, yes, many times,” answered the old man. “But he eventually won. Unfortunately, he heroically died at one point, but he came back to life shortly afterwards.”
Jesus couldn’t believe it. Could this actually be His father?
“One last question,” He said. “Were you a carpenter?”
“Why yes,” replied the old man. “Yes I was.”
Jesus rubbed His eyes and said, “Dad?”
The old man rubbed his eyes and said, “Pinocchio?”
