There were many things [Name] could describe Chiara and one of them had not been predictable.
She had told [Name] she would be out with a couple of friends from her department at The Wild Wolf, a club just right outside the campus and a frequent place most students gravitated to after a torturous month of exams and classes.
Chiara had lived with the concept "Party it out" whenever a mildly inconvenient problem had found itself on her lap. [Name] elected to stay home during those times, either working the night shift at Rhaenyra's store or sitting at home. There were rarely ever days where their street was dead silent and [Name] took every opportunity to enjoy the minimal noise pollution.
That's why she found herself dumbfounded as she stood in front of The Wild Wolf, her phone gripped tightly in her hand as the music from her phone was nearly synced with what she was hearing outside. The guard, tall and burly Cregan Stark, was also the TA at her Data Analytics class last semester. He stood awkwardly in front of her as they tried to decode what Chiara was saying.
"I'm - hic - too druuuunk." Chiara says for the sixth time that night to her. "I'm at the sears by the bar. Do you think you can come gerk me please? I promise I won't ever doew thith agai--"
The line cut off, making both Cregan and [Name] shoot each other exhasperated looks. "I'll let you in since I know you're just going in to get her." Is all Cregan can offer, motioning to the ever growing line at to the club.
"I owe you one." [Name] says in response, letting Cregan stamp her hand before opening the door to the sound of loud EDM and body heat. Lights strobbed all around her, making [Name] disoriented as she made her way toward the booths, hoping to find Chiara quickly.
Worry seemed to work its way up as she couldn't find her friend after three booths. She couldn't have wandered too far away from how recent the call was. Still, it was Chiara of all people and the possibility of her wandering off anywhere while inebriated wasn't a new concept.
"Is that [Name]?" A voice calls out as she passes by a group, stopping her from checking another booth just past them. Her eyes go wide as she makes eye contact with a Tully. Beside him stood his brother and a couple of other people she could barely recognize but they certainly knew her from the way they looked at her. She kept herself still before she finally met a set of familiar dark eyes.
Benji looked as shocked as [Name] was as they made eye contact. His hair had been loose of its usual style, the brown strands covering his forehead and as if he'd run his hand through if one too many times all night. He wasn't dressed any differently then usual but she wasn't sure she'd seen him in the striped shirt and jeans he had on.
Or the chain around his neck and rings on his fingers. Or the girl clinging to his arm. A girlfriend? [Name] asked herself before remembering Chiara mentioning he hasn't been seen with anyone.
"Hi?" [Name] says. Benji pulls away from the girl - his friend group entirely - as he comes up to her. [Name] puts a hand up to stop him from coming closer, doing her best to speak loud enough so only he can hear. "I'm not here to party."
"I gathered that much." Benji says, looking at the starry sweater and leggings she threw on before leaving her apartment. "Are you alright? What's wrong?"
From the corner of her eye, she can spot the brothers put their heads together, looking over Benji's shoulder and waving. The girl he had stood with looked at her curiously as she put her attention back on the man, worry settling in again as she remembered why she was here.
"My friend - Chiara Tyrell. She called me piss drunk and asked me to come get her. Have you seen her?" She asked him hopefully before looking around.
"No, I haven't but let's find her together, yeah?" Benji calls over the music, before turning back to his friends to tell them he would help [Name] and guiding her through the booths.
They checked diligently, Benji asking anyone he knew if they saw a brunette girl passed out anywhere. [Name] had nearly lost hope in everything until she heard a shriek and felt someone tackle her from behind. She nearly lost her footing had Benji caught her before falling over.
Chiara grinned dopily at the two of them, wrapping her arms around [Name] as she stared straight at Benji and said, "Ben! I'm so glad you're here. Do you think you can convince your girlfriend to go out sometime? It would so much more fun if you'd come with us! But I know that this place probably isn't part of your thing--"
[Name] stared her friend down, hand reaching to cover her mouth but Benji interrupts them, helping Chiara stand up after moving [Name] beside him. "Let's ask her when she's not about to kill you." He interrupts, working as a barrier between them and the dancing crowd.
[Name] groans as she puts her friend's arm around her. "How do you weight nothing but everything at the same time?" She huffs at her friend.
Chiara doesn't respond, seemingly falling asleep after realizing [Name] had found her. Benji grabs the other side of Chiara, helping [Name] move her to a booth close to where he originally was. Kermit and Oscar, having watched the whole ordeal, walks up to them, peering over at Chiara.
"Oh, she's gone." One of them chimes in.
"Do you need help?" The other adds, to which [Name] paused at the thought.
Chiara was small but definitely not light enough for her to walk five blocks on her back. She looked from her friend to the three men in front them then to the group they had came with. All of them seemed invested in what was happening, which made [Name] wonder if any of them were made aware of their agreement at all.
"Um, maybe just to take her outside? I can call a rideshare--" She started but nearly felt sandpaper go down her throat as she caught sight of a familiar mass of brown hair coming their way.
"Odd group to see!" Aeron calls out, a smile on his face that could only mean he drank one too many. His eyes blearily focused on [Name]. "Coming to pick your boyfriend up, [Name]? Ulla Greyjoy was all over him just a moment ago."
A pit in her stomach fell. He saw Benji with another girl? A fear struck in her as she realized they might get caught if she doesn't think of something quickly. "Um, no. I was with Chiara all night. We just separated from everyone."
Aeron glanced at her "In that bingo get up?"
[Name]'s cheeks turned red as she remembered her ridiculously put together outfit. Even in the dim light, she probably did look like a displaced librarian who just finished her night shift. Still, she wouldn't let his comments bother him, turning away to check on Chiara.
Being ignored had been Aeron's least favorite activity. [Name] was set on doing just that as she focused on her friend's needs. She pulled at her sleeves, wishing nothing more than to ignore Aeron and even Benji's subtle comments about her clothing right now. Sure, she did dress up like she was going to a flower field majority of the time, but the clothing made her comfortable but should she have more... Variety?
She could only go so far and wonder as she heard Aeron chime in again. "You know, its alright to admit if you made it all up, [Name]. It was pretty obvious when you said it at the beginning and now its clear you didn't even come in with this group."
The words made her blood run cold. She was sure whoever was around heard it. Aeron made sure it was made to be that way. Typical of someone like him. Benji stepped up this time, toe to toe with Aeron as he loomed over him.
"Say another word, Bracken. I dare you." He snapped, shoving the brunette's shoulder lightly. "[Name] is with us. Or are you too drunk to figure that out?"
"She's dressed like a nun on her off day!"
"So what?"
"Stop covering for her, Blackwood. We all know you haven't touched a woman in forever unless you paid for her." Aeron says before looking over at [Name] and grinning. "Though, who knows what [Name] will do to get money. Tyrell might be in on it as well. Didn't know you were into that kind of stuff, Blackwoo--"
A loud smack sounded in their corner of the club, making a few of the dancing club goers beside them stop. Aeron collapsed to the ground, holding his cheek as he stared at [Name]. Her chest heaved from adrenaline, palm burning as if it could still feel the heat of Aeron's cheek.
"I have a lot of patience for pompus, egotistical dolts like you but don't mistaken that as me being a dormat, Bracken." She seethes, walking closer to him. She leans over, making sure he had a good look at her face. "The next time you insult my friends like that, it won't just be a little bitch slap."
She backs away, not giving him a single glance as she grabs Chiara, the newfound adrenaline finding some strength in her to pull her friend up. A crowd had begun to form, Cregan Stark's burly build breaking through the bodies of skinny first and second years that swarmed them all.
"We're leaving." [Name] says to him. Cregan glanced down at Aeron, now standing in drunken disbelief with his friends as they watched [Name] coax Chiara to sit up.
Cregan nods. "Right. Just so you know, though, you're not allowed in for another few weeks. Any of you."
He stares pointedly between Benji's and Aeron's group. Clearly they he's had to speak to them before and this was a final straw. [Name] glanced apologetically at Benji, who only shook his head, motioning to the Tully brothers.
Kermit and Oscar were quick to come to herside, moving her out of the way as they picked up Chiara on either side. Benji strolled beside [Name], rubbing his hands along the length of her arms as he looked down at her.
"Alright?" He asked quietly, only low enough for her to hear and intimate enough between them for people to think they were together. A ploy to extinguish whatever fire Aeron almost started. Still, there was a genuineness in Benji's question. As a friend, he did want to know how she felt and she knew in her heart he really did, especially with how concerned he looks at her.
Play your part. "Yeah." She murmured, leaning into him without a second thought. She hadn't realized how shaken she was from such a simple comment and slap but when she had found herself against Benji's body, she could feel her shaking fingers clutch at his shirt to ground herself. "Just take us home. Please."
Benji wraps his arms around her, one of his hands smoothing her hair as he places a kiss on it, nodding with another quiet, "Okay. Our apartment is closer, so let's go there tonight, yeah?"
[Name] didn't answer, just nodded as she felt Benji pull away from her and grab her hand instead. She felt him plant another kiss to her forehad, maybe an attempt to sell their romance even more or maybe to calm her down, she hadn't known. Either way, she was nearly glued to Benji as they made their way out the club, hand in hand.
"We'll take Ulla and Aly home." She remembers a voice say. Benji, Kermit, and Oscar nod at them, the four of them (save for an unconscious Chiara who was being carried like a sack of potatoes by Kermit after losing rock-paper-scissors to Oscar) walked down in silence.
[Name] hadn't loosened her grip on Benji's hand, afraid if he might disappear on her despite them walking down a quiet and open street.
"I'm sorry I got you guys kicked out." Was all she could muster.
Oscar was the first to speak up, laughing as he says. "That is the only way we should get kicked out next time. When are you free again after a couple of weeks? I know you and Ben are only dating for a certain time period because of that weird deal and all but you seem like loads of fun with how fast you whipped around to slap Aeron!"
[Name] looked at Benji, who squeezed her hand. "I told my friends, like how you told Chiara. Don't worry, they won't say anything." He promises and she only nods, seemingly trusting his word. So far, anything Benji says makes [Name] comfortable enough to believe.
"She's busy, Oscar. Some people have lives outside of this school, yeah?" Kermit reminds him. "Besides, who would want to hang out with you?"
"Hey!"
The two brothers start to bicker right then and there, only to stop when Chiara groans at them to stop. [Name] giggles at her drunk friend as she pushes some hair out of her face.
"You're not allowed to complain, Chiara. The guys are nice enough to carry you and let us stay with them. Say thank you."
"Thaaaaank ye-yewwww." Chiara manages to slur out.
She's going to be so hungover. [Name] thinks to herself, looking over to see Benji observing her as well. They both share a look of amusement as they come to terms with the possible monster they have to deal with tomorrow morning.
When they make it back to their apartment - or more like a renovated warehouse loft - Chiara is set down on the couch. [Name] takes the time to remove her shoes and make up, letting the three men do whatever it is they needed for the night before asking for anything.
She had wiped the last of Chiara's makeup off when she hears footsteps from the metal stairs. Benji had just finished showering, his hair plastered against his forehead. He was holding a blanket with some clothes and a towel on top. [Name] offers a smile of thanks before throwing the blanket on top of Chiara.
A snort comes out of Benji when Chiara starts to snore loudly. "That's how you know she won't be waking up any time." [Name] informs.
"Well, we should all enjoy it until then." Benji comments. "There's a bathroom attached to our spare room. I usually use it because Oscar takes so long but I didn't want to fog it up just in case."
"Right. Thanks."
"And you can keep the clothes. In case you need to convince someone at your apartments you have a boyfriend and all."
"Cool. Got it." [Name] awkwardly fiddles with the sweatshirt and shorts. "Thank you for covering me, by the way. I so was caught up in Aeron and his comments that I could barely even register what I did."
Benji shook his head. "No, I understand. I would've done the same thing if he said that. He deserved that slap and more. You're a good friend for defending Chiara."
"And you," [Name] adds, raising an eyebrow at him. "He almost called you a pimp if I hadn't slapped him fast enough."
He grinned, recalling the events earlier. "Did you see his face? He couldn't believe it wasn't me who struck first."
They both laugh at the moment, remembering the shock and horror on Aeron's face when they all realized it had been [Name] who smacked him. [Name] stared at her palm. For once she felt the anxieties of the world wash away when she told Aeron off. Like a piece of a puzzle fell into place when she defined a line.
"Either way, it drained me. Who knew going to a club does that." [Name] jokes, making Benji perk up a little.
"Its more fun when there's no pricks like Bracken around. Join us next time." He urges. [Name] only nods, not ready to protest and reason right now. Not to mention, she'd get too curious and ask about Ulla Greyjoy.
Benji seemed to have sensed her hesitation from how he opened his mouth before quickly shutting it to not comment on it as [Name] walked up the stairs. She was grateful for his silence, not sure she was ready to open that kind of box yet.
Mingling, socializing, making friends - all of this was a new concept to [Name]. The only friends she had outside of Chiara was Syrax the store cat. It was a strange feeling but it sent a buzz in her system that made her want to continue looking for it. Still, it was a scary feeling and [Name] wanted nothing more than to push it away for now, the club, the slap, and Ulla's hand on Benji's arm still fresh in her mind.
"Baby steps." [Name] whispers to herself, shutting the guest room door so she can finally let the energy from tonight wash away in the shower.

Notes: Oh god I'm sorry I haven’t posted in a while 😭 I was on writer's block and still kinda am. But at last, here's finally a fic!! Haven't written in a while and got rusty, so this might not be good :') Anyways, I LOVE THIS REQUEST AHHH 💕💕💕 Dadttore is so UGH 😫👌This request got me all giddy. I hope you'll like it :D
Gentle flakes fell to the ground as you went from store to store. Your husband was in need of some materials to carry out his experiments. He asked a segment to gather them but you offered to help instead. You wanted to go out for a stroll anyways, so why not?
You were about to go back to the palace when you heard a noise coming from a nearby alleyway. It sounded like someone was rummaging through something.
You knew it was dangerous to investigate on your own without any weapons on you. But you couldn't help it, curiosity got the best of you and your legs subconsciously brought you closer towards the sounds of clanking.
Following the noise, it led you to a dumpster. The lid was closed so you weren't able to tell what was inside. Judging by the size of it though, you assumed it would be some sort of animal. You were expecting to see a raccoon when you opened the lid but what you saw made you scream and stepped back instead.
What the…
You slowly opened the lid again and an equally shocked but frightened face stared back at you.
What is a child doing here? You thought.
It was a little girl who looked no older than ten. She was wearing a thin layer of clothing and her hair was stained. In her hands she was holding a paper plate of thrown out food from a restaurant.
When you got closer again, her hands that were holding the plate recoiled to her torso and turned into fists. Tears were forming at the corner of her eyes and her form shook.
"Hey… it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you," you said in a hushed voice.
Once the little girl seemed calmed down enough, you spoke again, “What are you doing here? Where are you from?”
"I'm from over there…" She pointed. You followed where her finger was pointing at and your heart dropped.
House of the Hearth.
The orphanage where Arlecchino trained the kids to become soldiers? What was this kid doing here?
"I see… I don't know how you got here but why don't I take you back—"
"No!" She yelled, taking you off guard.
"Please… I don't want to go back there… The others are mean to me…"
She was now sobbing and you were trying to think of what to do.
She looked like she really didn't want to go back there… You would feel bad for forcing her to go back. But it couldn’t be good to just leave a kid all by herself here as well.
From the looks of her fragile frame, she definitely hasn’t eaten a sustainable meal in a long time. Poor kid, it was cold out and that bread didn’t look edible.
What other options did you have?
You were someone who adored kids, and the protective instinct inside of you screamed.
Without thinking, you blurted out, “Why don’t you come with me? I can take you to a warmer place and give you something nicer to eat."
The little girl was hesitant, but you could see her eyes lit up a little.
“Really?”
“Of course! Being out here by yourself is dangerous anyways.”
She got out of the dumpster and approached you with small steps. Once she got close enough, you took your own coat off and draped it over her.
“There we go, this will keep you warm enough until we get back,” you muttered, gently taking her hand into yours as you made your way back to the resting quarters.
- - -
When you reached the palace, you quickly took her to your room, trying to avoid anybody on your way there. You couldn't risk letting anyone see the kid here, who knew what they would do to her if they found out she escaped Arlecchino's orphanage?
And you most certainly didn't want to face that harbinger's wrath.
You let out a breath of relief when a Fatui agent only nodded to greet you as he passed the hallway without making a comment on how your stance was off, while simultaneously holding the bag of materials at an awkward angle. You waved back at him with a sheepish smile. Once you made sure he was out of sight, you reached behind you to take a hold of the little girl's hand again before continuing on your way.
"Alright, we're almost there."
You looked both sides of the hallway, taking a double check to make sure nobody saw you before grabbing the door handle and pushing it open, pulling the kid inside with you.
The door closed with a click and you leaned against it, trying to calm down how fast your heart was beating. Archons, were you glad that Dottore convinced you to take some basic stealth lessons. You didn't think it was necessary… up until now.
"Okay, well, welcome to my room!" You walked over to a desk and set the bags there. Thinking you could just give them to your husband later.
The girl looked around your room in awe, it was huge. To her, this felt like a bedroom a royalty would own from the tales she had heard of. There was a queen-sized bed in the middle and the blankets looked really soft and fluffy. She could imagine how nice it would to sleep on it.
"Wow… I've never been in a room this big before!" She exclaimed, her eyes wandered through different pieces of furniture and objects decorating the room.
"How about we give you a nice warm bath? Then I can show you around more later."
You took her to the bathroom and ran a hot bath for her. She was making bubbles in her hands while you washed her hair, rinsing the suds off her head.
"And we're done!" You clapped your hands together, feeling satisfied with how clean she was now.
You wrapped a towel around her and took her back to your room again, digging through your closet for clothes that were suitable enough for her to wear for the time being. Fortunately for you, you were able to find some of your old clothes from when you were a kid. You didn't throw them away just in case you wanted to reminisce about your childhood.
Well, instead of sitting at the bottom of the drawer collecting dust, you could put them to good use again.
Once you were done with dressing her up, she looked at herself through the closet mirror and her eyes widened at how nice they looked on her.
"Mr(s)... Um…"
"What's wrong?" You asked, worried that she might not like them.
"I don't know what to call you…"
That was when you realized you never told her your name, nor did she ever tell you hers.
"Ah, how could I forget! My apologies. You can call me (Y/n)! What about you, sweetie?"
Her eyes glinted at your name and smiled.
"Thank you, Mr(s) (Y/n)! I really like these clothes. They look so nice!" She paused before responding to your question.
"My name is Lilly."
Right as she finished her sentence, someone knocked on the door.
"Dear? Are you in there?" A voice you knew too well spoke.
Shoot.
It was your husband. And there was a random kid with you.
Oh no, what am I going to tell him?! You panicked. How were you going to explain to him you brought a child to your shared bedroom?
Your thoughts were disrupted when he knocked on the door again.
"Dear? I'm coming in—" The door handle twitched, but stopped when you yelled, "Wait!"
You told the child to hide in the closet and to not come out unless you said so. A look of confusion mixed with fear appeared on her face but she obliged anyway, hiding at the corner of the closet.
Closing the closet doors, you jogged over to the bedroom door and opened it, revealing your husband who was standing there, twirling a vial of blue liquid in his hand.
"There you are, darling. That took you a while, is everything alright?" He asked.
"Oh nothing, I was just, uh, examining the materials I went to collect for you!"
Archons, you hoped that was convincing enough.
"Really? Since when did you get interested in Chaos Cores?" He teased, showing you his signature grin.
"Just today! Haha…"
"Is that so…" He trailed off, noticing something on the ground.
"Hmm?" He hummed, taking his mask off to take a better look of the floor.
There was a water droplet. No, multiples of them.
"May I ask why the carpet is wet?"
Oh no, it must've been from the little girl's hair. It was still wet and you didn't dry it fully.
"I-I spilled some water! Yeah… I was clumsy." You smiled sheepishly at him.
He looked around the room and raised a brow.
"But I don't see a cup anywhere around here?" His attention went back to the droplets on the ground and noticed it was a trail.
A trail leading toward the closet.
He walked over to it and stopped right in front of it. You were about to stop him but he was quicker. His hands swung the closet doors open.
From where you were standing, the clothes on the hangers casted shadows on her form and they were hiding her well. They should be able to hide her from your husband's sight too… you hoped.
But of course, with keen eyes such as his, nothing could escape him. His squinted eyes were now slightly widened. He expected to find someone or something, but definitely not a kid.
"What—"
"W-wait! Zandik, let me explain."
You told him how she ran away from the orphanage and she was all alone out there, so you wanted to help her.
"So you're telling me… this is a kid from Arlecchino's orphanage? Darling, you know how she could get if she finds out," he reasoned with you.
"I know, but she was scared! And I couldn't just leave her on the streets on her own either. So with no other choices, I decided to just take her here, and maybe take her in…" You trailed off. Gesturing to the little girl that it was safe to come out now. She got up and approached you, hiding behind your leg as she looked at Dottore.
"So, can she stay, please?"
He stared intently at the ground, seemingly deep in his thoughts.
Now, you knew that Dottore was not fond of kids. But unbeknownst to you, occasionally he would dream of having this fantasy of his. To have a little family with you…
And of course, he wasn't ready to become a father to his own kids yet, so maybe he'd take this opportunity to practice parenting.
He signed, faking his annoyance to conceal his unexplainable excitement.
"Fine, she can stay."
- - -
For the first week of her stay here, she was shy. The only person she wasn't afraid to talk to was you. She tried to talk to Dottore once but he unintentionally acted cold towards her, causing her to back away.
You couldn't blame him though, he was awkward around kids.
So, to make it up to her in his own way, he ordered his segments to set up a new room for her.
You brought her to the room they were preparing in, wanting to know how she was liking her room so far and to also introduce her to the segments.
You knocked on the door and went in, while she trailed after you, hiding behind you as usual.
The segments stopped what they were doing and turned to the sound of someone coming in.
"Ah! So this is the kiddo Prime told us about." Beta was the first to speak.
Theta got closer to the both of you and kneeled down to Lilly's eye level.
"Hello! I'm Theta, you must be Lilly, yes?"
Lilly was too distracted by the white and black mask he was wearing, not listening to a single word that came out of his mouth. She tugged at your pants and said, "Mr(s) (Y/n), he looks like a clown!"
Upon hearing her words, you and the other segments began to laugh, all except for Theta.
"S-She called you a clown!" Beta wheezed.
"Quite fitting, don't you think, Theta?"
"I'm not a clown! God, what was Prime thinking when he chose to wear this mask back then" He said, deadpan.
Omega quieted down his chuckle and asked, "So, how are you liking your room so far, little one?"
Lilly looked around the room, the wall was painted with her favorite color and animal for the pattern. The bed she was given to was smaller than the one in your room, but was still big to her. A unicorn plushie, which was made by Delta, was placed on it.
"I love it!" She bounced slightly in excitement.
- - -
For the second week, Dottore and Lilly would start to interact with each other more. He has been taking notes by observing the way you'd talk to her, how you'd take care of her…
He was still awkward around her, of course. But at least he wasn't being cold to her anymore, so that was an improvement.
And Lilly, she was starting to grow more comfortable around him, as well. He wasn't as intimidating as she thought he'd be when he gifted her a mini robot, made with the leftover parts of a ruin guard. And now, she would sleep with it next to her at all times.
You were out to run some errands today, leaving Lilly in Dottore's care. She was reading a children's book on her bed, while Dottore sat next to her, patting her gently on her head.
She got to one of the pages and her eyes shined at how pretty the princess looked in the picture.
"Mr. Zanny?" She called out to him, using the nickname she gave him.
He hummed in response, signaling her to continue.
"I want my hair to look like this pretty lady's, do you know how to do that?"
He leaned over to see an illustration of a woman with long, braided hair.
"Why yes, I do, angel. Would you like me to do that for you?" He said.
In return, he also had a nickname for her. He thought the word "angel" suited her. As she's such a pure and innocent child.
Lilly nodded eagerly and turned around, her back facing Dottore. Grabbing a brush from the vanity table, he brushed her hair and undid the tangled locks, until it was tidy enough to be put in a braid.
You'd expect him to not know anything about braiding someone's hair but he was surprisingly good at it.
Once he was done, he grinned at how it turned out. Lilly went over to a mirror and admired her hair, it looked neat and exactly how she thought it'd look like.
She turned back to where Dottore and muttered out a little shy "Thank you."
- - -
It was late at night and everyone was sound asleep. Well, almost everyone.
Lilly was turning in her sleep, horrid images of scary monsters flashed in her mind and she woke up with a gasp. Her eyes darted around her room and it was dark. The moon light from the window barely lit the room up. She got out of bed and took the tiny robot Dottore made with her.
Luckily for her, the room you and Dottore slept in was not far from hers, she opened the door slightly ajar and peered inside. Noticing the two slightly moving silhouettes in the room.
She tiptoed to your side of the bed and poked your arm.
"Mr(s) (Y/n)?" She whispered.
You were a light sleeper so it didn't take you long to stir awake.
"Mmm… Lilly? Why are you awake?" You asked, turning over to face her fully, waking your husband up as well.
"I had a nightmare and I'm scared…" She told you, her voice trembled and her arms wrapped around the robot tightly.
"Oh, you poor thing…"
You helped her to get on the bed and laid her down between you and your husband. He yawned and was trying to comprehend why Lilly was in the bed with the two of you.
He looked at you for answers and you only said, "Nightmare."
"Would you like to listen to a story to help you sleep, Lilly?" You asked.
She pondered for a while before answering, "Yes please."
“Let’s see… Once upon a time, there was a little girl,” you began, then looked at Dottore to continue. He groaned a little and tried to think of something in his sleepy state.
“The little girl had a knife— I mean uh… A teddy bear? His name was… Bob,” he said. Making his sentence a bit more family-friendly when you glared at him.
“She and the teddy were best friends, they would go on an adventure together.” You added more to it.
“Then the little girl later strangled the teddy—“ He stopped when you hit his arm.
"What he meant to say was, the little girl later helped the teddy bear with a mission…"
The both of you carried the story on, well, more like you having to constantly make changes to Dottore's… questionable imagination.
But overall, it went pretty well, sometimes Lilly would snicker at the jokes Dottore made. But laughed even harder at his horrible attempt at talking in a high pitch voice to mimic the teddy bear.
His face was red from embarrassment, to say the least, that he made a fool out of himself just to make the two of you laugh.
It was embarrassing… but it was worth it, to hear the laughter of his two sweet angels.
"And finally, Bob made it home safely… The end." You ended the story.
You turned your attention to Lilly and you could tell she was getting tired, her eyes were droopy and she could barely keep herself awake.
As her mind was about to take her away into the land of dreams, you heard her muttering.
"Night night, daddy… Night night (mommy / other daddy)..."
Bonus:
Dottore walked into Arlecchino's office and slammed some papers onto her work desk.
"The papers are signed, she is now officially my daughter."
"Very well."

“y/n what are you doing?” Your Coach asks as he sees you pulling folding chairs out onto the court.
“Just getting some shots up, coach.”
“Y/n, I think you can afford to take the rest of the night off after that game. 25 points in 28 minutes is not exactly an easy thing to accomplish.”
You let a small chuckle come out under your breath, “Gotta make it 28 in 28 next time coach, only one way to get there.”
He smiled at you, waving his clipboard in the air as he walked towards the door. “You know the drill, don’t forget to lock up when you’re done.”
“Sure thing.”
The gym cleared out pretty quickly after the game and before you knew it, it was just you, the ball and some blaring music. You can’t work out in silence obviously. You start practising your dribble combos around the chairs with clean finishes down in the paint. Spinning off the “defender” for the quick pull up fade away middy getting banked in. Putting in the late hours wasn’t new for you, you pretty much lived for the sport and when you weren’t eating or sleeping you were playing basketball. You didn’t get too deep into your practice when you saw one of the gym doors open and a familiar face walked through the door.
Fuck– you thought to yourself.
She is the most effortlessly attractive person you have ever met…well…seen? I guess “met” is a stretch. You technically have never really talked to her, there was that one time when you briefly interacted in a class but you were fairly certain she did not know who you were. You, of course, knew who she was. You had been crushing on Shuri for quite some time now and no of course you never have worked up the courage to talk to her. She was wearing this purple-y blue tracksuit that just looked insanely good on her with some of the cleanest sneakers you’ve ever seen.
“Sick game 8.”
You glanced up from the ball you were holding and made eye contact with her as she had the most devious but sexy looking smirk on her face. Her chin held high as she complimented you basically causing you to freak out on the inside like a little school girl and she didn’t even know it.
“Thanks” You reply, trying your hardest not to sound like you were absolutely losing it.
“25 points is pretty crazy.”
You feel your cheeks flush, “yeah, aha”
She knows your stats from the game?
“You gotta work on that footwork in the paint though, the bigs will just eat that shit up if you don’t know how to work around them.”
“Oh is that so?” You reply. Where the fuck did that come from? Oh is that so? WHAT? Tell me why I thought that was the right response to that?
I guess we’re committing to this random burst of confidence I got now.
Shuri’s eyebrows raise at your comment with a small smile creeping across her face.
“Hit me.” she says as her hands raise up motioning for you to pass her the ball.
“Look, you gotta attack the paint here just like you were but instead of going for the layup and getting blocked every time you gotta stop, plant two feet fake jab right, turn left, sweep and shoot.” She says as she demonstrates footwork that is honestly cleaner than what more than half of your team can do.
You look at her with slight shock and try not to be absolutely obvious about it but clearly you weren’t hiding it well enough based on her reaction.
“Didn’t expect that?” She says with a laugh, “your turn,” she tosses you the ball.
On the first try you manage to pull off the same move with ease.
“Okay, okay, I see you Y/L/N.”
What– so she does know who you are?
Honestly hearing her say your name even if it's just your last name was making you feel all sorts of things.
“How about we see how you do with some actual pressure now hm?” She says as she positions herself just in front of the net ready to play defence on you.
You drive to the net about to pull the same move that she of course easily predicted, resulting in you being blocked and kind of embarrassed.
“You’re gonna have to try harder than that 8. Pulling my own move on me? C’mon.”
You feel your cheeks getting rosey again and your heart is racing and it is definitely not because you were working up a sweat playing basketball. She had you feeling unbelievably flustered as she made direct eye contact with you as her hands were up reading to guard you and whatever move you chose to pull off. You start your dribble, staring her down as she smiles back at you, making you unbelievably nervous. You start to run towards her, hit her with the hesitation that she did not fall for, faked right, euro stepped around her and laid the bucket up and in.
A smile crosses your face as her brow furrows.
“Okay, okay, so she got moves I guess. We goin’ again?” She said ready for you to check the ball.
After about 45 minutes you were starting to feel a little wiped.
“I gotta hand it to you 8, I didn’t think you had it in you but damn you play a mean game.”
You just sort of chuckle as you take down the last gulp of water in your bottle.
“Man I gotta get out of these clothes, could you point me in the direction of the change room? I got an extra outfit in my bag.”
“Yeah, I can show you I gotta bring the balls back anyways.”
You and Shuri walked to the changeroom, and it’s definitely safe to say that the two of you were border line friends now after that entire experience.
When you get into the change room, you head to the sink to wash your hands from the filth that are the school's basketballs and as you look up in the mirror you catch a glimpse of Shuri taking her shirt off in the reflection of the mirror. You quickly look back down at your hands and act like you did just see her toned abs and arms. All that time spent together made you forget for just a moment how nervous she makes you.
“Ah shit—“ you hear muttered from behind you.
“Everything okay?”
“Yeah I uh I just thought I had an extra shirt but I only have pants.” She says
You turn around to face her as your eyes quickly dart to the floor as she’s standing there in pants and a bra. “I uh— I have an extra clean hoodie if you want to borrow it?”
“Man really? That would be great thanks.”
“Cool, I’ll just um grab that.” You say as you start walking to the area of the change room with the player lockers.
You start rummaging through everything in your locker and finally find the hoodie, when you turn around Shuri is standing right behind you, still with no top on and your eyes didn’t know where to go but you could feel her staring at you.
“Here” You say holding the hoodie up practically right in front of your face.
You hear a small chuckle from behind the hoodie as her hand comes over the top pulling it down so she can look at you. Your eyes trail up her body to lock on her face that's looking down at you. She takes a step forward backing you up against the locker, your heart is racing unbelievably fast.
“Do I make you nervous y/n?” She says slowly under her breath.
Your mouth opened to respond but nothing came out. The smile on her face grew when she realised how tense you looked.
“Relax love, there’s no need to look so stressed out.” Her hand slowly comes up to your face, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. Her fingers trail along your jawline until they reach your chin giving it a soft tug, tilting your face up towards hers. “May I?” Shuri whispers.
Your head was nodding before you even processed what she said and before you knew it her soft lips connected with yours as her hand made its way to behind your head, fingers running through your hair.
Nothing has ever felt so natural before, her lips fit perfectly in yours. You could tell from the kiss alone she had much more confidence and experience than you did. Your hands didn’t even know where to go while hers went everywhere they wanted to.
You felt her hands slowly go under the hem of your shirt and the skin on skin contact made you let out a small whimper. You’ve never experienced anything like this before and her touch alone was enough to make you pool in your underwear.
She bends over slightly grabbing you on each of your thighs and pulling you up against her, wrapping your arms around her neck and legs around her torso as she continues to kiss you again. Her hands gripped your ass as the two of you passionately made out, fuck you wanted her so bad. You want her to kiss and touch every inch of your body and make you beg for so much more.
With your legs still wrapped around her, Shuri walks you over to one of the benches, and gently lays you down on your back. Her chain is practically resting on your throat as she hovers over you, only inches apart. Her lips start kissing your neck, leaving a trail, making sure to go as slowly as possible just to see you squirm beneath her. She kept kissing a soft spot just above your collarbone causing shivers to shoot down your back. You could barely sit still and you just knew she was going to make you beg for it.
“S-Shuri please.” You whisper.
Her demanding eyes looked up at you, undressing you in her head with a smirk across her face.
“I do like hearing you beg for it but you’re lucky I’m feeling generous today.” She says as her fingers dig into the band of your shorts, pulling them off you. She starts leaving small kisses on the inside of your thighs, taking her time, making sure that you were brought as close to the edge as possible without giving you the touch you craved the most. You could feel her breath on you causing your head to tilt back and your eyes to flutter.
She laid soft kisses on your pussy causing your breath to hitch. Your lack of experience meant you had no idea what anything was going to feel like.
Her tongue gently pushed between your folds causing your entire body to tense and relax which you could hear her smile over as she went down on you. Shuri painted circles over your clit starting slowly and gradually increasing in speed and pressure. She could tell how excited you were getting which caused her to pull back ever so slightly. You didn’t realise how amazing the touch of her tongue felt until it was gone.
Her tongue was replaced with one of her long fingers which steadily entered you soon after.
“F-fuck.” you groan.
“That feel good princess?”
You slowly nod your head letting out tiny moans as she puts in another finger and gives them a slight curl to hit your G-spot. Her tongue starts running along your clit, God, it felt like she was spelling out the entire alphabet in swift movements.
Your core began to tighten as her pace increased. Your one hand is clenched onto the back of the bench while your other has her head in hand. You gripped her tightly pushing her face deeper into your pussy as your heart continued to race.
“S-Shuri– I am so close.” You manage to get out just before you let out a loud moan and your back arches up off the seat.
Her pace slows as you come down from the most sensational high you’ve ever felt.
As you catch your breath, she comes up to you and gives you a kiss where you taste yourself on her lips.
She pulls away only inches from your face with a smile, “you have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that for.”
“Me too” You say softly.

hellooooo, back at it again with these intrusive leon thoughts>:)
this time though, it could be because my period is getting close, but i feel pretty down lately and these intrusive thoughts are winning soooooo
Leon angst anyone?
its not anything too deep really, just poor lil reader catching leon at the wrong time :(
like she's just chilling in her room, playing with her phone and all, but then she decides to go down to the kitchen to get smth to eat cuz she's a bit hungry. she's about to step down the stairs and turns around a corner when she suddenly hears a female voice, an unknown female voice. peaking around from behind a wall, her eyes widen in shock as a heavy feeling drops down to her stomach, nothing but a painful ache in her heart at the devastating sight in front of her. right on the couch in the living room, she sees her step brother, his arms wrapped tightly around some girl she's never seen before; they're both smiling and laughing with each other, seems to be watching some kind of movie that they're clearly not paying attention to. for some reason, her heart tightens up so bad that she feels like she couldn't breathe at all; it feels like a heavy weight is on her shoulders as her breath hitches in her throat. why is she feeling this way? it's not like she's together with leon, or at least not romantically. that thought only makes her feel even worse. unknown to her, tears begin to fill her eyes and slide down her cheeks as she cries quietly. not feeling hungry anymore, she slowly goes back up to her room and locks the door, sitting at the edge of the bed again. even then she can still hear their laughter downstairs, as if they're taunting her. laying on the bed with a small thump, she cries silently into her sheets as her body shakes a bit from the hurt she's feeling. she doesn't even come down to eat dinner no matter how many times her mother knocks on her door and basically orders her to come down, all she can think of is leon with that girl. who the hell even is she?
her body tenses up immediately when she hears his voice on the other side of the door, "sweetheart? can you open the door?"' his hand twists the doorknob as he knocks the door softly. she doesn't respond back to him, just laying there with tears now getting dry on her cheeks. leon stops after a while and sighs, then suddenly she can hear the sounds of keys jiggling outside, making her slightly panic.
"I'm coming in." opening the door, he frowns at the sight of her body laying still on her bed, not turning to look at him excitedly like she used to.
"hey princess, what's wrong? come on you gotta talk to me. Mom's really worried you know?" finally slowly turning to leon, his concern expression turns to a shock one when he sees her red and puffy eyes. quickly getting closer to her and pulling her to his chest, he coos softly and pats her hair gently.
"baby what's wrong? who made you cry?" his comforting tone gets a bit hostile when he asks the last question, but it immediately changes when she answers.
"you."
BOOM CLIFFHANGER MWAHAHAHA. i might add more since i need more time to think but yeah feeling quite down right now and leon's brain rot isn't helping much.
may i have a small blurb about this if ur comfortable at writing angst? :)
Yooo you’re back at it again with the feels ;_; but I get emotional before, during, and after my period so this hits so hard it’s not even funny 😔
Noo not Leon accidentally breaking her heart 😢 please I need closure 😭 who is the girl? Why were they snuggled on the couch? I have unanswered questions!! 😫
I’d love to write one! I’ll try my best cause angst is hard for me 🤣 mainly cause I want even fictional people to be happy (life is sad enough lmao). You have any more ideas for this?? I want any and all info you have haha 😂 so my mental picture matches yours 😆

Hahaa thank you for hitting "pause" on your rewatch, lovely! (I'm so glad you're watching Dark Angel!)
“Cards on the table, son. Your daddy’s got something of mine. I’ve got something of yours.”
I mean... we knew it, right? Right? It's always like that... But I still don't like the sound of this. 🙈
Yeeep, that's indeed where we're heading with this...
He couldn’t imagine how scared you were. And if you were hurt…
Another big guilt and burden he would put on his own shoulders... 😔
You got it in one, hun. 😥
“That’s right, Dean. These are my terms of engagement, else I’m gonna have a bonfire with your girl here.”
It all gripped Dean at once.
Panic, anger, and desperation.
Oh god, even to me he sounds so serious. He's just like his bastard son. Maybe even worse...
Oh, Daniel really is -- both serious and worse than Nick. Which is a tall order, considering how fucked up Nick his.
All of this would've not been necessary if John would've not been so obsessed with the whole thing. On the other hand, it is important to get Azazel behind bars ones and for all.
True on both counts, and therein lies the conflict for John. He knows going after Azazel will endanger his sons, but at the same time, he can't just let him go and get away with what he's done.
“Hey, fireman,” Nick taunted with his waggling brows. “Where’s our girl?”
Like I said: both rotten bastards. 🙄
Oh, absolutely. 😫 Nick has nothing if not audacity.
I... I did NOT see that coming... And the whome warehouse-scene... GIRL!!! What are you doing to me??? 😩 It was so perfectly written, I saw it unfold in my head like a movie. It felt like it was really to late in the beginning and of course our firefighter could NOT stay back and wait. (Poor Sam, btw 🤭🙈) I was so tense and just hoping that they would make it. And you gave that to us. So glad you let us having a happy end. 🥰
Oooh yes, that part was meant to shock you. 😜
I'm so glad to hear that! I tried my best to make sure those scenes made sense in the action but were still intense from moment to moment.
Lmao poor Sam indeed! Dean gave him a wallop. But I promised you guys a happy ending, and it's my pleasure to deliver! ❤️
There you found Sam, and the mere sight of him relieved you so much you didn’t realize you were crying when you stepped into his embrace. He hugged you tight and asked if you were all right.
And this brings me so much happiness. 🥰
Aww I loved creating the friendship between the reader and Sam. 🥰❤️
They made it!!! 💕 I can't believe that we're already at this point. 😢
I knowwww, it's bittersweet! 🥹💗 I can't wait to bring you guys the epilogue on Sunday.

Part 19: “Sacrifice”
“Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted…but you didn’t answer.
“You there?” he asked. There was a pit forming in his stomach when he glanced up at John. His father met his gaze with furrowed brows that betrayed concern.
The line was silent for one more painful moment. Dean opened his mouth to call out to you again, but a smooth voice interrupted.
“Dean, Dean, Dean,” a man replied. “Forgetting something?”
Dean’s heart began to pound. His mouth parted, but for a moment, the words wouldn’t escape.
“Who is this?” he said. His voice was a hint unsteady.
“I think you know, son,” the man replied.
Dean’s wide eyes flicked up to John’s, and the other man sprang into action. He shot a look and a whispered order at Cas, who went running for some IP tracking equipment back in the police car.
Meanwhile, John guided Dean to sit down on the couch. Sam followed them on his brother’s right, while John sat on Dean’s left.
Dean put the phone on speaker between the three of them.
“You’re Daniel Savage, huh?” Dean said. He tried to inject some more control into his tone, like he wasn’t freaking the fuck out. “Man, do I feel special.”
“Oh, don’t flatter yourself, Dean-o. I’m doing the same thing your dad’s doing. Hooking the bigger fish.”
Dean’s lips pursed. He glanced at his father, but his attention on the phone turned steely.
“What the hell do you want?” he asked. “Your lackey’s on lockdown. So’s your bastard son. If you want to help him, I’d suggest you turn your ass over to the cops.”
“Yes, Nick’s an idiot. But family, right?” said Daniel. He breathed out a sigh.
But then his voice was firm and calculating. It made Dean’s skin crawl.
“Cards on the table, son. Your daddy’s got something of mine. I’ve got something of yours.”
Dean’s face hardened, but John raised a placating hand; a warning to keep calm. Dean tried to take a breath.
His heart clenched at the mere thought of you being in the same room with that man. Having been taken and hauled to God knows where. He couldn’t imagine how scared you were. And if you were hurt…
Fuck. There was a roiling pit forming in his stomach, his head starting to pound in time with his heartbeat.
Already Cas was back with a laptop and program designed to track the caller’s phone. He was fiddling with the settings, trying to get a read. Dean knew he had to keep this fucker talking.
“You have her with you?” he asked.
“Sure do. She’s a pretty little thing.”
Dean’s jaw clenched in a furious glare. “Don’t you fucking touch her, you son of a bitch.”
“Quid pro quo, Dean. What can you do for me?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, as desperation began to escape him. “There’s no way they’re letting Nick go before the trial. It’s out of my dad’s hands.”
“Your dad has no real evidence that my son is anything more than a successful businessman,” said Daniel. “If you really need someone to pin these unfortunate murders on, you had your man in custody…but, oh wait. You gave him immunity.”
Dean’s eyes were desperate when they met Sam’s worried ones, then their father’s. It didn’t matter that John and Cas did have evidence besides Alastair’s testimony. All Dean cared about was you.
He swallowed. “What do you want me to do?”
“Nothing. It’s what I want John to do.”
Dean took a moment to close his eyes, pull himself together. His hands squeezed his knees to brace himself. When he next opened his eyes, he let out a sharp breath.
“What do you want then? Aside from Nick somehow breaking loose,” he asked.
“I want your dad to back the fuck off, once and for all,” Daniel said. His voice was more edged, with both warning and a hint of frustration. “Or I’ll make his son live the same pathetic existence he does.”
Dean’s next breath came out harsher, as both John and Sam sharpened at the threat.
“That’s right, Dean. These are my terms of engagement, else I’m gonna have a bonfire with your girl here.”
It all gripped Dean at once.
Panic, anger, and desperation.
He grabbed the phone and spoke harshly into the speaker.
“Put her on the damn line," he said. "I wanna hear her and know this isn’t a trick.”
Daniel sighed, like he was getting bored. “Oh, all right.”
There was some shuffling, the sound of Daniel’s steps echoing in what sounded like a large room. Dean’s brows furrowed as he heard sounds of your struggle, then your labored breaths, as if a gag had been removed from your mouth.
“It’s okay, sweetheart. Go ahead and talk to him,” said Daniel.
Soon enough, your tremulous voice reached him.
“Dean?” you said. You sounded like you were fighting tears; maybe even losing. Dean’s heart broke all the more for it.
“Yeah, it’s me. Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yeah…yeah, I’m okay,” you said, though your voice shook. He hoped you weren’t lying for his sake.
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart.” He raised a fist to his mouth, ignoring how it shook. “You’re gonna be okay. I’m going to find you—”
All too soon, the phone was taken away from you.
“Rule number one of negotiations, kid. Don’t make promises you can’t keep.”
Dean’s eyes widened. The next thing he heard was a hard slap. It echoed into the speaker, along with your shout of both surprise and pain, a chair toppling over.
“You fucking bastard,” Dean seethed. “When I find you—”
John interrupted this time, taking the cell phone from Dean. He shot his son a look that was meant to be reassuring, but Dean was too incensed. Sam gripped his shoulder and earned his brother’s gaze. Dean’s chest heaved with the effort of calming his breathing.
“What do you want?” John said into the phone. His voice was clipped and direct.
While he continued to speak, Cas was frowning in frustration over his laptop.
“Anything?” Sam asked.
“I can’t get a lock on his signal. He must have something throwing off the scanner,” Cas replied.
Dean growled in frustration and pushed off the couch. He began to pace the living room, all while he tried to keep an ear on what John was saying lowly into the phone.
By the time he hung up, Dean was raging.
“Fuck this, I’m gonna find her,” he said. John tried to stop him from going anywhere with a hand on his shoulder. Dean knocked him off angrily. Sam also stood, for once on the same page as his father, no matter how much he sympathized.
“Dean, you need to calm down,” John tried.
It was the wrong thing to say.
“I didn’t ask for this!” Dean shouted. The force of it echoed on the apartment walls. “Matter of fact, I’ve never asked you for a damn thing until now. Only that you’d keep me in the loop on Azazel, and keep her out of this. But you couldn’t even do that, could you?”
Sam was at a loss, looking between his father and brother. Cas was also caught in between, watching the scene with concern, and bated breath.
John’s broad shoulders sunk a bit, along with the deep breath he expelled.
“You’re right,” John said. His eyes held the weight of his words. Of sincerity. And by degrees, Dean’s anger lessened.
Again, not by much.
“Let’s fix it,” said John. “Once and for all.”
Dean wasn’t fully recovered from his TBI. He’d been cleared for driving, but not yet for full physical exercise, let alone going back to work. The stress of all this was giving him a powerful headache, but there was no way he was going to be sidelined now, on any part of it.
Sam was forced to withdraw the case against Nick Savage, citing lack of evidence to support a trial at this time. The judge gave Sam permission to refile when he was able to build a better case.
John was then tasked with escorting Nick out of prison. Cas, meanwhile, was sitting in his personal car outside the county jail with Dean in the passenger seat. Cas didn’t trust what his friend would do behind the wheel once he saw Nick.
“What happens after Nick gets out?” Dean asked. “Dad’s been cagey about the whole deal.”
“We’re escorting him to the airport,” Cas said. “There we’ll wait for Daniel and make the exchange.”
Nick, for you. That was the deal.
“And then?” Dean asked, his teeth already clenching.
Cas blew out a sigh. “We’ll have a unit waiting on standby. We’re going to try and get ahold of whoever has her, though I doubt Daniel will come himself.”
“What if you can’t catch him?” Dean pressed.
Cas didn’t want to have to tell his friend something he didn’t want to hear, but he didn’t make a habit of lying to Dean. He wasn’t about to start now.
“Then it’s over, for now,” he replied. “We each go back to our corners and regroup.”
“Dad’ll never stop hunting this guy,” Dean said.
“That may be,” Cas nodded. “But he does have a line.”
“My father’s an obsessed bastard,” Dean groused. “He doesn’t have a damn line.”
Cas looked over at him then. He was calm and sympathetic, and yet, still disagreeing in his silence. Dean knew he was probably wrong, but in the moment, he didn’t care. He was still angry.
He perked up, however, when the prison doors slid open. Out came John escorting Nick and his lawyer, Amelia. Nick looked as smug as ever now that his cuffs were off. He was given the clothes he was arrested in—a blue silk shirt, pants, Italian leather shoes, and a silver Rolex watch.
Screw this, Dean thought. He unlocked the car from his side and climbed out. He didn’t care that he could hear Cas mutter a curse behind him and follow suit.
Nick saw Dean coming and couldn’t help but smirk, even as John grasped his arm and led him to his police car.
“Hey, fireman,” Nick taunted with his waggling brows. “Where’s our girl?”
Dean’s lips edged at a dangerous smile. Cas came up just behind him, ready to restrain him if need be.
“You can finesse your way out of this, but remember our little chat,” Dean said. His eyes burned with a thinly veiled threat. “Not a dime in this world can protect you from me.”
Nick pretended to shiver.
“Ooh, I’m so fucking scared,” he snarked. He resisted John’s manhandling and ripped his arm out of the other man’s grasp to step further into the open, leaving just a few yards between him and Dean.
“You can’t touch me,” Nick taunted. “You won’t dare. Not unless you want—”
Three shots rang out in the open clearing.
All heads ducked, but Dean’s eyes widened. He watched Nick crumple to the ground as scarlet red plumed in the man’s silk shirt. The shock etched on his face drained along with his life, leaving blue eyes staring up at a clear sky.
Forensics at the scene found traces of a sniper on the rooftop of a building directly across from the county jail.
John and Cas already were mounting an entire unit search in locating Alastair Rolston, but he had apparently moved out of his apartment as soon as he was released from prison with his immunity deal. (The police officers escorting him into witness protection had been found dead at the scene of his designated safe house.)
The detectives were later called into the medical examiner’s office on the case of Nick Savage—not to examine the body, but the bullets that had carved into his heart, right lung, and throat.
One of the bullets had a special casing. Inside was a rolled-up note, not unlike a carrier pigeon. It had a simple message:
JOHN — STULL STORAGE. COME ALONE.
Once again, Dean refused to sit idly. He’d pushed back hard enough that John had eventually relented. This time, however, Sam stepped in to make sure his brother was reigned in. Dean’s knee was already bouncing with anticipation and nervousness.
It was nearly midnight on a Tuesday. The brothers sat in the surveillance van with Jody Mills, all wearing protective Kevlar vests as precaution. The van was removed from the immediate site of Stull Storage, which was made up of a main warehouse and several rows of storage units on the other side.
Cas was leading another police unit on standby, but John was going into the warehouse. He wore his usual leather jacket over his rumpled shirt, pants, and boots, but also a protective vest and hidden wire under his collar.
Sam, Dean, and Jody were able to listen in as John entered alone.
He had a flashlight positioned over his raised gun as he walked into the building. He found some light switches along the wall and was able to turn on half the room’s fluorescent ceiling lights.
He heard a whimper.
Moving towards the sound cautiously, John soon found you tied to a chair. You looked a bit worse for wear; though you were dressed for an interview in black slacks and a blouse, your hair was in disarray, your cheek still sported a fading red mark, and you likely had other bumps and bruises.
Your eyes widened with hope when you saw John. You made sounds of surprise around the gag tied in your mouth, but he shushed you with a finger held to his lips.
He went over to you after lowering his gun, cocking back the safety, and re-holstering. He went to untie the gag first. You breathed deeply when it was gone.
“You okay?” he asked, touching your arm in comfort.
“Yeah,” you nodded, but your widening eyes still darted behind him.
Another safety clicked back. John immediately drew his gun again and turned. He was met with the man of the hour.
Standing mere feet away with his own gun was Daniel Savage. AKA: Azazel.
“Ooh, you’re getting old, John,” he said with a smirk. “Wasn’t expecting to get the drop on you so easily.”
John subtly moved so he was standing in front of you. He hadn't had time to untie you from the chair. Your breathing came out shallow as you tried to spy around John to your captor.
“Daniel,” John greeted. “It’s about time, wouldn’t you say?”
“You cheated though,” said Daniel, despite his cocky smirk. Like father like son. “I know you’ve got a team waiting in the wings.”
“If you wanna get technical, you cheated first,” John pointed out.
Daniel shrugged. Behind him came around ten of his own hired men, armed with their own guns. “Hate the player, hate the game, my friend.”
John’s lips pursed, but he didn’t lower his gun. He had a straight shot at Daniel’s chest.
“Even if you do get off a shot, you’ll be Swiss cheese where you stand,” Daniel said.
“Small price to pay for ending your miserable life,” John remarked.
Daniel’s brows rose. “Are you gonna make her pay for it too?”
He gestured behind John, where he glanced back at your face. Your red-rimmed eyes were shining with tears. And John knew that once his gun fired, his body would hit the ground. Yours wouldn’t be far behind.
His brows furrowed, and the hands holding his weapon wavered.
“So how you do think this is gonna play out?” John asked.
“Well, for starters, you’re going to drop that damn gun,” said Daniel. He cocked his own weapon. “Then, you’re going to get down on your knees and take this bullet, like putting down a rabid dog. Then maybe, I’ll let her go before the cops rush in.”
John’s hesitation was mere seconds. He clicked the safety back on. He set down his gun, and lowered to his knees in slow movements.
Your eyes widened further as incredulous tears slipped down your cheeks. You shook your head.
“Don’t!” you said shakily.
John didn’t look back at you this time, but he did answer you.
“It’s all right, sweetheart,” he said.
Daniel’s grim smile made you shiver.
“What a caring father-in-law,” he said, and he slowly stalked forward. “You know, I prided myself on delegating my operations well. Oh, it was a well-oiled machine back in the day. But some things…well, some things are just better handled yourself. Know what I mean?”
He tilted his head down at John.
“For example: I really regret the way I had your wife killed,” he said. “For all the trouble you’ve given me, I wish I’d actually burned the bitch myself.”
John glared up at the man with pure fury and hatred.
Though his eyes widened when the first shot split the air, and buried a bullet in Daniel’s left arm. Daniel shouted in pain as he unconsciously dropped his gun. John dove for it, and everything started to happen at once.
Daniel kicked at John’s chest while holding his wounded arm, tossing the other man back. John rolled onto his feet, and their full out brawl began. Meanwhile, a unit of police officers swarmed into the warehouse and sparked a shootout with Daniel’s men.
And in all of this, Cas came out from behind your line of vision to untie you. He wore a protective vest over his usual white dress shirt, now rolled up to the elbows.
“Cas!” you gasped. He gave you a smile, then used a pocketknife to cut through the zip ties holding your wrists behind you and your ankles to the chair.
“Come on, let’s go.” He helped you up and guided you out the back of the warehouse.
The last coherent sound Sam and Dean heard was a bullet fired and hitting its target. They couldn’t tell if it was John or Daniel that had been hit, or even you.
Above all things, Dean was a man of action.
He just couldn’t take it anymore.
“Fuck this,” he growled. He got to his feet and went for the door of the surveillance van, but while Jody voiced her protest, it was Sam who reached him first.
“Dean, stop! You can’t go out there!” Sam said.
“The hell I can’t,” Dean said. The punch he reared back and threw was precise when it cracked Sam in the cheek. He went down hard. It was all Jody could do to keep him from knocking his head on the metal floor, but Sam was out cold, with his hair flopped over his face.
"Dean!" Jody yelled after him. She stared after the open door of the van with wide, worried eyes.
There were rows upon rows of storage units behind the warehouse. It felt like a maze in itself, one that you and Cas were forced to navigate alone in the crisp January night. Both of you saw your breath on the air as you tried to move quickly, but quietly.
Until a long arm reached out on the other side of a unit, and a hand closed on Cas’s gun, pushing it down and ripping it out of his hands. An elbow cracked into his face, making him grunt and stumble.
Your scream of surprise echoed in the night. You stared up into the familiar face of Alastair, whose mouth formed a sly grin.
“Hey there, beautiful,” he said.
Cas distracted him with a blow that Alastair blocked, but it gave Cas room to break the taller man’s stance and knock his head against the unit wall—once, twice, until the man stumbled and fell. He wasn’t knocked out, but Cas didn’t wait for Alastair to recover. He grabbed you and forced you to run.
“I thought he was in protective custody for the trial,” you said, through huffing breaths.
“Evidently he escaped,” Cas replied.
“God, Cas. You really need to hand out some pink slips,” you said, with a tremor in your voice. The police were supposed to have been watching you as well, before you were kidnapped. Cas conceded your point.
“We really shouldn’t have given him immunity,” he grumbled.
Dean knew he was being some kind of idiot.
Knew it as he carefully approached a side door of the warehouse. His vest wouldn’t protect his whole body if he entered the no man’s land shootout he could hear happening on the other side of the door.
Already he could see policemen escorting some of Azazel’s captured team around the front exit. Dean kept to the shadows, and he cracked the side door open.
There was still plenty going on inside. A few bodies were already strewn across the dusty warehouse floor. Large crates stacked up to the ceiling offered meager protection for both sides of the siege, including Dean as he kept to the wall and slid his way inside and behind a formation of wooden crates. He scanned the room until he found his dad.
John was fighting hand-to-hand with who had to be Daniel Savage. Even though the latter had blood dripping from his arm, John had his share of bruises and scrapes, including a long cut across his cheek from the knife clenched in Daniel’s non-injured right hand.
What the hell do I do? Dean assessed the situation, his eyes darting quickly between the men. He came in here without a weapon (another smart move). He went through most of the training a million years ago, but Dean wasn’t a police officer. He was a firefighter.
However, when he spotted a forgotten Glock on the floor, just a few yards away where the men were still tousling, Dean inched his way closer. He’d have to leave the relative safety of the crates and throw himself out into the open to reach the gun. At this point, Daniel was closer.
And he’d noticed the gun too, at the same time that John glanced up and saw his son. His eyes widened, and just for a moment he lost his grip on Daniel. The other man went for the gun at the same time Dean dove.
John yanked Daniel back by his collar and kneed him in the stomach. But Daniel had the longer reach. He cracked an elbow into John’s face and followed by a swift punch to the gut. John grunted and doubled over at the impact to his already battered ribs and stomach.
Daniel threw him head-first into a pile of nearby crates. He was breathing hard, but his lips twitched in satisfaction at the way John fell into a heap of broken wood. The detective was clearly waning.
Daniel stalked forward. Ignoring his still bleeding shoulder, he grabbed John by the jacket and collar of his shirt and hefted him up to his feet, prepared to deliver another blow. The cocking of a nearby gun made him pause. But in a moment, he twisted John in front him with an arm wrapped around his neck to face his next attacker.
While Daniel had been distracted, Dean had managed to dive and roll across the concrete, scooping up the gun on his way back onto his feet. Now he’d had the time to take aim and wait for his moment, which was right fucking now.
Slowly, Daniel tilted his head to look past John’s shoulder. He was met with Dean’s smirk and a gun pointed directly at his head.
“I think I’ve got something of yours,” Dean remarked. His fingers slid over the trigger.
Daniel tilted his head. A dry smile edged at the corner of his lips. “All right, Dean. Well played. But…”
He tightened his arm around John’s throat and held the knife poised at his neck.
“We’re at what you’d call an impasse, don’t you think?” Daniel asked.
“Dean,” John said. He met his eldest’s gaze as uncertainly crept into Dean’s stance. His hand was still held aloft, but there was an almost imperceptible shake.
“Just shoot him,” said John, with full conviction. “Don’t worry about me.”
Dean’s mouth pressed into a line, his brows furrowing. He wasn’t doing that.
“See, I don’t think he’s got it in ‘im,” Daniel said, speaking lowly in John’s ear. His knife tightened against John’s neck. “You’re out of your fucking depth, Dean.”
Dean flinched as a bullet zoomed past his head from across the room. He was reminded that there was still a fight going on, and the three of them were very much out in the open. John’s face turned more urgent, with thinly veiled worry.
“Dean, either shoot him or get the hell out of here,” he said tersely.
“I’m not leaving,” Dean said, with a small, stubborn shake of his head. But he was nervous. Despite how close he’d come with Nick Savage, Dean had never shot at someone, let alone taken a life. The gun was heavy in his hand.
“Running out of time, son,” Daniel taunted.
“I’m not your fucking son,” Dean gritted out. “Speaking of, did you have Alastair do your dirty work, taking out Nick, or did you pull that trigger yourself?”
Daniel’s smirk faded, his gaze tightening with resignation.
“Sacrifices, Dean,” he said. “We make ‘em to survive. To make sure our legacies survive.”
Dean’s eyes widened as he looked at this man, and he finally understood what his dad had been trying to tell him.
He ain’t a man. He’s a monster.
The gun was heavy in his hand…
“Come on, Dean!” Daniel shouted. “Make a decision—”
Dean still remembered most things he’d learned at the Police Academy. He’d lived, ate, sweat, and breathed those drills and tests for months. And yet, there was only one score he’d truly been proud of. It was the one record of his dad’s that he’d managed to beat.
You could guess which one.
Dean let his fingers squeeze the trigger on some instinct he couldn’t name. Daniel was forced to choke on his words.
Cas pulled you around the corner of a storage unit that blocked the light of the moon. It was just in time for a bullet to rip past where his head used to be.
You leaned heavily against the wall and heaved for breath, but Cas held a finger to his lips while he tried to calm his own breathing.
You held a hand over your mouth to try and stifle the sounds from getting out. Your eyes were wide and panicked, but Cas could only reassure you with a brief hand on your shoulder. He nodded and signaled with his free hand. Wait.
You gave a jerky nod in return. So he reached for his belt and brandished the only weapon he had left—the knife he’d used to cut through your bonds. The air was quiet, except for the distant shouts of police officers; it sounded like Azazel’s men were finally being rounded up.
Cas had called for backup earlier, but he didn’t think they could wait for it. Nor would he know if they were coming. He’d long since turned off the radio on his belt so that it couldn’t tip off his position with you.
He chanced looking around the wall of the storage unit. The coast looked clear, though he knew it wasn’t. Still, the best Cas could hope for was to cover you on the way back to the police barricade. He leaned back and reached for you. He guided you, both with his eyes and a hand on your back.
On the count of three, run, he mouthed. You wordlessly agreed. He saw the fear shining in your eyes.
One…two…
An arm shot out to grab Castiel’s collar the moment he stepped out from his cover, making you scream. The first punch came swift; Alastair was taller, perhaps stronger, but Cas recovered quickly.
He ducked the other man’s arm and delivered an uppercut that had his adversary careening back. With a well-placed jab to the wrist, Alastair’s gun clattered away across the ground.
Cas managed to shoot you a quick look. “Run. Now!”
You paused for a mere moment while Cas continued to grapple with Alastair. Then, in your frozen fear, you finally managed flight. And you took off running, even though Alastair tried to grab at your hair. Cas held him back and continued the fight.
You’d only managed a few yards of distance though, before you couldn’t help but look back. Something in you just couldn’t leave Cas behind.
You took cover behind another storage unit and watched Alastair slowly get the upper hand. He managed to pin Cas against the ribbed metal wall of a unit. He winced as it dug into his spine, but he had bigger problems.
He spat blood after the third blow to his jaw and tried to blink dark spots of his vision. Alastair looked down on him with the lean look of a predator. His smile betrayed the enjoyment he took in his work.
“Contrary to what you might think, I’ve never killed a cop before,” he said. “Just a cop’s wife.”
Cas’s eyes widened a fraction. Alastair’s smile deepened. He raised a bloody fist to finish his work, but he winced and weakened with a shout as a knife embedded deep in his thigh.
It was Cas’s knife that you’d found on the ground.
Alastair’s angry eyes looked down and met your scared ones. You let go of the knife and scrambled back. He backhanded you roughly. You cried out and fell hard on the pavement.
Alastair reached for the knife, but Cas grabbed it first. He twisted as he yanked it out, then jabbed it into the taller man’s neck. It choked his scream as he stumbled back. And yet, even that didn’t manage to kill him.
Cas dove for the fallen gun. It was mere feet away from where he’d forced it out of Alastair’s grip. Cas felt a hand grab his shoulder. He reacted fast—he turned and shot two rounds of hot led into Alastair’s gut.
His gray eyes went wide. Blood gurgled in his mouth.
And slowly, Alastair slid to the ground.
Cas was bloody, his shirt stained and torn, but he was still standing with ragged breath. You had managed to sit up, though your shocked eyes were trained on the body you’d just seen fall into a heap. The horrific spell of it broke when Cas gently touched your shoulder.
You gasped and raised your head.
“It’s okay,” he said, reaching a hand to you. “It’s over.”
Cas escorted you back to the police barricade. There you found Sam, and the mere sight of him relieved you so much you didn’t realize you were crying when you stepped into his embrace. He hugged you tight and asked if you were all right.
You couldn’t give him an honest answer, but at least you were alive.
“I’m okay,” you said tremulously, but you pulled back at grasped his arms. “Where’s Dean?”
Sam looked anxious as his gaze flit between you and Cas.
“That goddamn idiot, he went in there! They won’t let me through—”
“What?” Cas said incredulously. “Into the warehouse?”
Your tears fell anew as a new frantic worry took hold, churning in your stomach and making you feel sick. You turned, and both Cas and Sam had to stop you from heading towards the warehouse.
“Get him out of there!” you cried. “Dean!”
You tried to push past Cas and his attempts to calm you, but you stopped the moment you saw him…
Dean was helping John limp out of the warehouse. Jody was on John’s other side, supporting him as well. John looked beat to hell, and exhausted, but there was no mistaking the calm look on his face. Like he’d finally sleep tonight.
Dean, on the other hand, looked pale, haggard, and worried. However, his head perked up as soon as he heard your voice. His eyes widened. He turned to Jody to make sure she could support John on her own, and she nodded at him.
It let Dean make his way straight for you.
Sam and Cas finally released you, like a horse waiting to bolt out of the stables. Your tears blurred your vision as you went to him.
When Dean swept you up into his arms, you were able to throw yours around his neck and cling to him for all you were worth. You buried your face into his neck and sobbed your relief.
You wouldn’t know that Dean’s eyes were shining and red, his mouth trembling slightly as he sucked in a breath and held you as tight as he dared. His hand came up to cup the back of your head, over your wild hair. His lips pressed to the side of your head as he closed his eyes for a moment.
“You okay?” he asked, when he was able to speak.
“Mhmm,” you nodded, though his question prompted you to pull back and find his face. Your heels came back to the ground, and you reached up to stroke his cheek and search his gaze.
“What about you?” you asked tremulously. “Your head?”
“’M fine,” he said. Though the truth was, he was reeling. His ears still rung from the bullet that hit Daniel between the eyes.
The weight of that decision was almost too fresh to be real, but it was heavy on Dean all the same. He could even get in legal trouble for this. He wasn’t supposed to have entered that building. Hell, he’d picked up a gun and shot a man.
Though he already knew what Sam would say.
Justification. Imminent danger. Self-defense.
Dean just didn’t know if that would fly here, especially with the Fire Department.
Right now, however, you were his lifeline. You grounded him in reality when you held his face in your hands. Just beyond you, he could see the relief on both Sam and Cas’s faces.
Dean gave them a smile, but he focused back on you. He held your hand to his cheek.
“Promise me you’re gonna stay put for a while,” he quipped. “Preferably where I can see you.”
You scoffed at him through the tears glittering in your eyes.
“Dean Winchester, if that isn’t the most hypocritical thing that’s ever come out of your mouth!” you said, punctuating your words with a slap on his chest.
“Hey!” he protested, but you ignored him. You gripped his shirt and felt the Kevlar underneath. It might’ve protected his chest, but he hadn’t had anything to protect his damn head.
“You run into fires, not bullets, you idiot,” you said, now wiping frustrated tears from your cheek.
Dean’s tension began to ease with a smile. He held you more securely, pulling you flush against him.
“You sound like Bobby,” he teased.
“Good!” you snapped. “You’re not allowed to scare me like that. Do you hear m—?”
He didn’t think he’d ever miss you giving him shit, but this time, it just made him smile until the corners of his eyes crinkled. Shortly before he cut you off with a searing kiss.
You made a sound of surprise, even as you gripped at his shirt, then his face to keep him there. You both knew this night was long from being over. An even longer way from recovering.
But for now, this was a good start.
AN: And so, we're drawing near to the end. 🥹 What did you think of the respective ends of Nick and Daniel Savage, and even Alastair? And of course, her and Dean's reunion. 💗
Soon (on Sunday), we have the epilogue...
Next Time:
“So…I’ve gotta tell you something,” said Dean, after he parted from your lips for a moment, and allowed you to breathe. His tone made you tilt your head in suspicion.
“It’s nothing bad,” he said, though he looked a bit nervous.
Your brows furrowed. You led him to the couch, where he took your hands in his. It took him a moment to get started. He seemed stuck on what he wanted to say, or maybe just how he wanted to say it.
“Whatever it is, I’m sure I can handle it,” you teased.
Dean gave you a smile. His shoulders relaxed a little...

“Look at the new girl,” Sunoo whispers. Jungwon turns to the door, watching as you, dressed in bright-coloured clothes, steps into the classroom. Jungwon had actually seen you earlier while he was on the way to school. You seemed so carefree through his eyes, reminding him of the time he was just like you.
But that was two years ago. Now he was just like everyone else in the school. He didn’t stand out in any way. And he was glad about that, especially after what had happened on his first day at the school two years ago.
Jungwon used to be a cheerful and easygoing boy who wore bright-coloured turtlenecks. His world was full of rainbows and cupcakes. That is, until he stepped into his new high school. As soon as he skipped into the school, a group of older boys stopped him, scoffing at his outgoing attitude.
“Having such a great life, aren’t you?” one of the boys snicker before Jungwon finds himself being punched in the face and kicked to the ground.
That was the day he realised that it was a cruel world out there and in order to survive, he had to fit in. So when he got back home that day, he stuffed all his turtlenecks into a box which he placed into the back of his closet.
But on that one day, every year since then, there would be a knock on the door. And when he opened it, there lay the box with a coloured turtleneck which he would then add to his box. It was the only day he felt like himself again, and what better day to feel that way than on his birthday.
But now, standing before him in his class, was a girl just like he was. And oh, was he scared for her.
“That girl is so… out of the ordinary,” Sunoo says again as he and Jungwon watched you walking around the cafeteria with a ukulele in your hands.
“We shouldn’t keep watching her. It’s creepy,” Jungwon says as he turns away to eat his food. But just then, someone taps his shoulder. He turns around to see you looking at him with a bright smile on your face.
Jungwon looks at you, a clear confused look on his face. You just smile at him, strumming on your ukulele as you begin singing the birthday song to him. “Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Jungwon. Happy birthday to you~”
Your voice was soothing and gentle, accompanied by the soft sounds of your ukulele. By the time you ended the song, everyone in the cafeteria was watching you. Before Jungwon could say anything to you, you walk out of the cafeteria. Or rather, you skipped out.
“Dude, what was that?” Sunoo asks Jungwon, who was clearly still in shock.
He just shrugs. “How did she know my name?”
“How did she know it was your birthday?”
After school, Jungwon saw you again. Amidst the crowd of students getting into their cars to drive home, he saw you near the trees in the distance, walking happily home. He had to admit that he was really curious about you. You rarely talked to anyone so there was some mystery about you. And he was determined to solve that mystery.
Although you never turned to look back, you knew he was following you. You abruptly stop in your tracks, hearing the sound of shoes squeaking to a stop from behind you. You turn around only to get the reaction of him turning around to look behind him as if there was someone else following you.
“Why are you following me?” you call out to him.
“I’m not-”
You raise your eyebrow at him. Sighing, he admits, “Alright, fine, I was.”
“I just wanted to know… how did you know my name? And that it’s my birthday?” he says, coming over to you.
You shrug, turning back around to continue walking. “I have my ways.”
“Hm, anyway, you should come for the soccer match tomorrow. The whole school usually goes to watch.”
“Are you playing?” you ask, peering up at him.
Jungwon rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. “Yeah… but the team’s never actually won…”
“Oh, maybe you guys will win tomorrow.”
The school team was losing during the game, as expected. Nothing could wipe the look of relief on Jungwon’s face when the referee blew his whistle for halftime. While the team were walking off the field, the school band comes up to perform as usual. But what makes the players stop in their tracks is when they hear an unfamiliar voice singing.
Turning around, Jungwon spots you with a microphone in your hand. You give him an encouraging smile as you continue singing. “Stay true to your school~”
After halftime, the players returned to the field with a newfound confidence and enthusiasm. Even the students in the benches cheered loudly this time. It was a sight never seen before.
The team ended up winning that match, and those that came after that. After each match, Jungwon would always find you waiting for him at the entrance and the two of you would go out to celebrate the victory but also because the two of you loved spending time with one another.
A couple months flew by in a flash. The school team had another match that day with their rival. Near the end of the game, the two teams were still tied and both were working hard to try to score that winning goal. Suddenly, one of the players tackled the boy with the ball from the rival team, causing him to fall hard to the ground.
Although the cheers died down when the boy didn’t get up, no one stepped up to help him. They were merely watching and it made you annoyed. So you ran up to the boy to assist him while the referee called an ambulance.
You could hear murmurs from the crowd but you didn’t care. You just wanted to make sure the boy would be okay. “What the hell is she doing?” Sunoo asks Jungwon, watching you get on the ambulance and disappearing into the distance.
Jungwon just shrugs, knowing that this wouldn’t end well for you.
Jungwon waited outside the hospital for you. You were his girlfriend now anyway. It was getting dark before you finally emerged out of the doors. You approach him, wondering what he was going to say to you.
“Everyone in school hates you now, in case you were wondering,” he tells you.
“The boy’s going to be fine, in case you were wondering,” you scoff back at him.
You walk past him, wanting to get home without dealing with him at the moment. But of course, he’d follow closely behind you, insisting to talk about the issue. “Y/N, I just don’t want to see you get hurt,” he says from behind you.
“But seeing him get hurt was fine? He was hurt, but everyone just stood and watched. It’s not fair,” you turn back to look at Jungwon.
Jungwon sighs. “I understand, but you’re going to have a hard time in school now.”
“Then what do you expect me to do?”
“You could try… fitting in,” Jungwon’s answer caught you off guard.
You frown, “Is that what you want?”
“It wouldn’t hurt to try,” he just gives a shrug. How could he say that to you? It hurt you that your own boyfriend would ask you to change into a completely different person. Did that mean all this time, he didn’t like you for who you were? It felt like a knife through your heart, but way worse.
Not wanting to talk to him anymore, you walk off into the night without saying another word. “Y/N, come back! It’s getting late,” Jungwon attempts to call you back, but to no avail. “I know,” you merely answer, not bothering to turn back to look at him.
Jungwon doesn’t hear from you for the next few days. You didn’t even come to school. He was worried about you but he didn’t have any means of contacting you. Even when he went to your house, no one would answer the door.
Out of the blue, while he was having a free period, he gets a text from an unknown number.
Hello
Feeling uneasy, he looks around the area for no one in particular.
Aren’t you gonna say hi back?
He looks up again, and that’s when he sees you. You looked so different from the last time he saw you. You wore a black t-shirt with jeans and your hair was straightened. You really blended in with the rest of the school.
You walk over to Jungwon’s table, a small smile on your face. “Hi,” you greet him softly as you take a seat next to him. “Hey. You look… different. It's good different,” Jungwon says, moving his things aside so that you had more space.
Several weeks passed and no one bothered you about the incident during the soccer match. Perhaps blending in did work out. But you knew one thing for sure: you didn’t feel like yourself. You didn’t like who you were pretending to be. And what hurt you the most was that your own boyfriend seemed to be perfectly fine with the way things are.
While the two of you were walking home from school, Jungwon suddenly brings up the winter dance that was taking place the next day. “Y/N, will you go to the dance with me?”
“W-what?”
Jungwon turns to look at you. “I mean, everything’s been fine. You’re trying your best to blend in, and no one’s questioning me anymore. It’ll be fun to go to the dance.”
“No one’s questioning you? What is that even supposed to mean?”
“I- I just meant that-”
“Was I an embarrassment to you before this? This isn’t me, Jungwon. I can’t ‘blend in’. But I tried for you. But why am I doing it if it’s still not worth it?”
Although you technically didn’t say yes to going to the dance with Jungwon, he was still waiting for you near the entrance. He knew he had said the wrong thing the day before. Of course he preferred you the way you were, bubbly and cheerful and all, but school demanded for everyone to blend in. It was almost the end of the winter dance when he finally spots you entering the hall.
“Y/N, you came,” Jungwon immediately makes his way over to you.
You wore a pretty white dress with streaks of pink, red and purple. You were panicking with Jungwon standing right in front of you. You had been expecting to have some time to figure out a way to break the news to Jungwon. But now you’ll just have to improvise.
“Jungwon, I- I’m really sorry that I’m really late. And I just want to apologise in advance for what I’m going to tell you,” you say, observing his smile turn into a slight frown.
Looking down at your fingers, you continue. “We… can’t be together anymore. We’re from two different worlds. I do love you, and I wish this didn’t have to end. But you don’t need me anymore, so I have to go.”
You plant a soft kiss on his lips. “Thank you for everything. I hope the bright-coloured turtleneck-wearing cheerful boy will always be a part of you.”
That was the last time Jungwon saw you. He tried finding you but your house was empty and no one seemed to know where you moved to. A part of him felt that maybe, just maybe, you had been sent from heaven. That you were never meant to stay. You were just here to restore that part of him that had been lost: the bright-coloured turtleneck-wearing cheerful boy he used to be.
did this pique your interest?

Lucifer sat there long after Lute and Ab- A left.
Now he's back a square one. If that's not Abel, then who is it? The voice sounds familiar, but he can't pinpoint where he's heard it.
He made his way outside the embassy a lot more confused than when we went in. He better inform Lilith. Maybe she'll have an idea.
Lilith: It's not Abel?
Lucifer: No... apparently not.
Lilith: Hm... well, isn't this the brain teaser.
Lucifer: Isn't it. He sounded so familiar. But it's been a long time since I've talked to anyone in Heaven who wasn't A, Sera, or Michael.
Lilith: Hm. Well, maybe I'll go to the next meeting. See if I can figure it out~.
Lucifer: Let's both go, hm? Give them a run for their money~.
Lilith: I love the way you think, my dear~.
Lucifer grabbed Liliths hand and dipped her. Kissing her passionately. He definitely made the right choice in Eden.
Lucifer: Hm...
Lilith: What is it, love?
Lucifer: ...it couldn't be Adam, could it?
Lilith: Adam!? Oh, darling! He could barely say a syllable let alone a word!
Lucifer laughed: You're right, love.
Lilith stood herself up and laughed: What a fool!
Lucifer fixed his hair: Yeah... what a fool.
Lucifer and Lilith sighed into the embassy. It's time for the 13th meeting.
Lucifer: Ready, dear.
Lilith: Oh, I'm very ready.
Walking into the meeting room, they smiled at the golden angel sitting at the table, the decided to ignore the guard.
Lucifer: Afternoon! I would say "good afternoon" but, neither of you deserve it~.
A: Ouch. Numbers.
Lilith narrowed her eyes. Who is he?
Lucifer: Really? Straight to business, huh? I'd like to get to know you, A. Seeing as you're not Abel, I've been thrown through a loop! Surely we can get to know eachother?
Lute: Numbers, Devil. We're not here for a tea party.
Lilith: You should show some respect, girl. We are royalty.
A: You're trash, and nothing more. I wouldn't even wipe my boot on you. Now, numbers. And stop wasting our time.
Lucifer: ...we're at 2,150,000. That's an extra 150,000 souls-
A: Oh look, the Devil can do basic math! Who would have thought?
Lute: Not me, sir.
Lilith: How dare you-!
A: I think we're done here, I'm getting a headache from listening to you.
Lute: Let us leave, sir
Lucifer: You can't just come here and insult my wife-!
A: I'll do whatever the FUCK I want! Toodles~.
Lucifer and Lilith were in shock as the two angels disappeared.
Lucifer: What the fuck...?
The king and queen were even more at a loss as to who A is. Lucifer has never been spoken to with such disrespect from an angel. Most were just cold, but that was something else.
((I hope you don't mind me using the headcanon that Adam couldn't talk in Eden. I love it so much 😫))
I'm coming up with some aus for you, but I need some meeting shenanigans.
I would love to know what bullshit Adam and Lucifer got up to during meetings.
Slowly healing their relationship, one meeting at a time 👀
Well I think the very first one they wouldn't even be alone together because of what happened. I think Adam would just silently glare at him.
Over time when Adam was feeling more confident to face the devil he'd go alone but by hologram, Sera's idea.
Making snide remarks, snappy comments, and being sassy.
And Lucifer would come back with his own and they would end up in banter for a while other than why they are really there.
As more time passes it's less hateful and more playful, maybe even takes on a flirty edge.
And I always see Lucifer being the one to make the first move after what happened in Eden. Adam has so many insecurities he wouldn't think that Lucifer would want him as more than maybe a friend.
Hit me with them bud 👀
