it's here!! it's done!! after three years of sporadic work, it's finally out in the world!! 😭😭😭 i may be biased but this is my favorite thing i've ever written and i'm so excited to finally share it with everyone!!

A steady, beep, could be heard from the doors a few paces away, as Damen made his way in.

An impeccably tailored suite hugged his body, as his newly embellished Van Cleef bracelet caught beautifully in the office light, surely a new gift to himself from last month’s commission pay.

With his charming smile and prominent dimples, he stood directly beside Laurent’s desk as he said far too enthusiastically for eight thirty in the morning,

“Good morning everyone!”

Jokaste and Berenger replied pleasantly as Laurent made a point to look away, focusing only on his work before him.

After taking off his messenger bag, Damen placed what appeared to be some sort of dessert in a Starbucks bag, right on top of Laurent’s keyboard, as he proceeded to say,

“For you, my prince,”

Jokaste made a choked sound as Laurent flushed.

Feels like fate as I plan a re-read this summer with full annotations ❤️❤️❤️

In a post kings rising universe, i’m toying with the idea of making laurent and jokaste have a son; a little blond, sassy terror whose always asking questions and brooding but then i remember laurent being nothing short of AGHAST when damen asked him he reserves his love for women 😭😭😭 but like wouldn’t it be fun to read? it fits jokaste’s character as a king maker and it would cause tension and interesting dynamics with damen.
