Hi, so I've been unemployed for 4 years now (depression and anxiety), but I've done a lot organizational stuff to help with my parents. Ive also taken a 6 month bootcamp and completed projects with other people. I don't want to put down that I was unemployed on my resume cause then nobody will pick it up. Can I use freelance or something similar as a white lie? Is it possible to use my friends as an "employer"? Thank you 😊
"White lie"? "Unemployed"? Honey it sounds like you were plenty busy and occupied! You were ABSOLUTELY freelancing for ll that time.
If your friend employed you to complete a project (even if they paid you in beer), then that absolutely counts as freelancing.
Reframe, reframe, reframe your way back to full-time employment, my sweet baby mouse. Your priority should be securing an income, and we support you doing what you have to do to make that happen.

I have my first job interview ever tomorrow.
I’ll also be dyeing my hair for the first time tomorrow night. It’ll be partly purple.
Also using my first paycheck or two if I get to job to get a septum piercing.
This formerly sheltered dyke’s got plans.

Hi! Do you know any spell for getting a job? Thank you so much and I hope you have a lovely day!🌺
Yeah, sure!
- ATTENTION: LONG POST -
I believe a prosperity bowl could be an easy and efficient spell to help you get a job. You'll need:
1. A bowl - preferably one that's resistant to heat; 2. A yellow, orange, brown or dark blue candle - if you don't have any of those, you can use a white candle; 3. Rice and/or beans - Any kind, it just has to be uncooked; 4. Sunflower seeds - optional; 5. Herbs, such as: Rosemary, chamomile, turmeric, star anise, cinnamon and/or cloves;
STEP-BY STEP: - Stick the candle into the bowl using it's own wax; - Add rice and/or beans to the bowl - you can add the sunflower seeds too; - Add the herbs - use the ones you have at home, you don't need to buy all of them if you don't want too; - Light the candle up while mentalizing yourself getting a job - you can meditate, pray, use visualization techniques, whichever makes you comfy; - Leave the candle burning until it melts down completely - if you can't leave it lit up for too long, you can extinguish the candle and light it up again later;
NOTES: - The best day to do this spell is on Sundays, as they represent the energy of the sun and attract prosperity and success; - The number 8 can be used as a symbol of prosperity in the spell too, use your creativity to incorporate it if you desire to; - If you can't use fire, you can change the real candle by LED candles; - If you don't have candles at all, you can still do the prosperity bowl - mentalize your goals while you add the ingredients;
I really hope this helps you! Sending you some good luck!

Just some advise I have for everyone going through a large change in life, whether it be graduating high-school/college in the next year or even just recently, moving somewhere far away, getting a new job, possibly getting married or considering it, just getting into a relationship, etc.
It's all going to be okay. I may not understand all the way what your going though, but I do understand that going through a big change in your life is going to be stressful. You're going to have all these thoughts of "what do I do now?" Or, "did I do enough here?" Or "Am I doing the right thing?", even "what do I do now?"
Even if you feel as if you didn't do enough, you did what you could with the time given. You may not have gotten along with everyone you wanted to, or for those graduating high school, maybe you didn't join all the clubs you wanted or socialize with as many people as you planned, but you did what you could in the time given.
If you question whether or not you're doing the right thing, if in a relationship or getting a job, maybe even moving, it's all normal. Nothing is supposed to really feel "right" or "normal" when you're making a big choice in life. Maybe in time, you'll realize that what you did was either the best or worst decision of your life, just know that what happens next is your choice. If you feel terrible about it for either making the mistake for the first time, or maybe for the second or third time, you can learn from the mistakes you know. It may sound childish, but learning from the past mistakes you've done really teaches you what to do in the future. Even if the choice you made was one of the best choices you've made, just know it can go down, and that's normal. Don't overstress about the fact that's it could go down, because it doesn't always go down, but when it does, remember it's normal and everyone goes through it. So, you're not alone, no matter how alone you feel.
As for the future for you highschoolers or college students, maybe people who just got fired, who knows what it will hold for you. Maybe you'll get a (or another) job and live on your own in an apartment or your own home, heck maybe even with your parents, or maybe you'll date someone and get married and live with them. Maybe you'll get a pet, or have/adopt a kid. No matter what, it'll all be okay, because that's what's supposed to happen in life. You may feel down and depressed sometimes, as if nothing can get better, but with time and change, it can get better. Life isn't a big field of opportunities. It's a rollercoaster of bad and good things. Either if those opportunities are something like a job or maybe marriage or something similar, just know that it can get better if you put the effort in to get better. You may not know what to do know, but sometime in the future, you'll know. It may be today, in two weeks, a month, a year. But in some amount of time, you'll know what to do. Its stressful, I get it. Just know that it can get better, or worse. It all depends on how you treat it. If you see it as a new opportunity in life, or as the end of something meaningful, just know that that is what life is. Things will end, opportunities will come to a close and may never come back again, relationships will either get stronger or weaker and eventually break off, you might get fired from your job, but know that everyone feels and experiences that, and you aren't alone.
I just hope that everyone that needs and reads this is feeling okay and that this just helped in the slightest. If you're feeling sick or unsure about what's going to happen, that's okay. It's how everyone feels at least once. Know that you're not alone when feeling this. Everyone has felt this at least one. It's your choice to feel better or worse about it.
(Here are some pictures of animals that I've seen to (hopefully) make you all feel better :3 )

my parents didn’t want me to get a job as a teen because they wanted me to focus on school and college but now i’m 22 and i need to get a job, i’ve taken in some tips here and there and i’ve applied to a few but i keep chickening out of the interviews, any tips to go into something you’re SUPPOSED to do but keep dodging out of because of your anxiety? and the rumination afterward of “i said that one thing weird- they looked upset-“ and so on so on
i’ve heard alot of retail horror stories and i have some trauma from being alone in a room speaking with older adults, my irl friends aren’t around much so it’s just kind of up to me to do it alone unfortunately
Hey there,
I think that a lot of parents out there deem education to be more important than having a job as well and especially if they don’t feel that you need a job at a schooling age due to them being able to afford things for you that you may need or want within reason. This is not abnormal at all, for a parent to want their child to really focus on their school studies without any distractions that you do not necessarily need to have. i.e. having a job.
I think that now that you are actually needing to get a job, that it’s a great first step to apply for jobs out there and it’s even more impressive that you are being invited to attend interviews for the jobs that you do apply for. In regards to your anxiety about actually going to those interviews though, is there any ways that you think you could do to make it a bit easier for you and/ or jotting down some of your fears about the actual interview itself.
Sometimes when we know what the anxieties that we are having or the fears that we may be having can be really helpful as it can help us to think about these things through thoroughly and/ or put into place things that can help us to put some of our anxieties or fears at ease.
For example, if one of your fears is that you may not say the right things or may not be able to answer the actual questions off the top of your head, then maybe doing a mock interview with someone that you know well may be of some help.
Another big fear or anxiety that some people may have is that their nerves may get the best of them and so consequently they may not be successful in getting the job. Try to be kind to yourself though and know that we all have nerves and sometimes this can be a good thing as it can help to push us out of our comfort zone and try something new – something that we may be good at after all! I know how scary it can be though and so this is where something like a mock interview may be helpful for you to give a go.
Getting a first job can be really scary, but know that you will get on the job training (if not before you actually start) and so this may help to ease some of your nerves. You did mention though that you had some past trauma in regards to being left alone in a room and having to talk to people older than yourself and so maybe perhaps you could take this into consideration when applying for jobs and or seeking jobs out that you are passionate about or ones that will help you to achieve what it is you want to do in life/ something that may help you along with your further studies if you choose to do any. Doing this – applying for jobs we are motivated about or ones that we would really enjoy to do can be a great motivator and especially if you have the luxury of waiting around for that perfect job to appear that you can then apply for!
I really hope that some of this has been helpful for you and know that I know you can do this – get a job. Even if the first few interviews don’t go exactly to plan, use them as learning experiences and don’t give up, you’ve got this!
I’m thinking of you and hope that you are going well!
Take care,
Lauren

So today was dad’s phone call with social security. We thought he’d be eligible to collect on mom’s benefits, too, but he’s not. All he can get is the one time death benefit payment. Which means we can’t cover the bills.
I’m on disability. Have been since 2015 or so. I had graduated nursing school at the end of 2013 (at the top of my class, I have to brag), but it turned out that nursing was NOT good for my mental health. Causing me to admit myself to the psych hospital twice within six months for SI. The disability started after that. (Because of the mental health and my SCDS). Because of my severe depression, I have had a hard time keeping a job for more than a few years prior to nursing.
Anyway, now I will have to get a job again, and that’s fucking terrifying. My meds are more than $3k/month before my insurance covers them. I’m so scared that I won’t be able to hold down a job, lose the insurance from said job, not be able to afford my meds, and then end up worse off than before.
I can’t try for nursing again. The pay would be incredible, but I need to look out for my mental health. I’m thinking of maybe looking into being a CNA again. Then if I get a job at the hospital, I can work 3 days or nights per week and still be able to take care of dad. Plus, I can handle 3 days better than 5 days I think.
I have to update my resume, and have no idea how. I have a 9 year gap. Can I put that I’ve been a private caregiver since I’ve been caring for my parents this whole time?
So I’ve been freaking out today. I’ve done a ton of crying. I’m just so scared that I will fail, have no benefits (no disability payments and insurance, or no job and insurance) and end up back in the hospital because I can’t afford my meds.
Fuck.

2023 wrap up.
January: Ok. Found out I was going to Washington DC in the spring.
February: Can't remember. I think ok.
March: In between. Birthday and turned a big milestone. Had a breakdown toward the end.
April: Very good!! Went to DC and had a blast!
May: Pretty good. Found out about the Naturals and loved it. Worked in my garden.
June: Eh, ok. Can't remember much.
July: Horrible. Finished school. Depression kicked in big time.
August. Hell, then heaven. Depression almost ruined me. Got a job though and things were much better. Also got TBH. And joined Tumblr!!
September: Good. Job was doing great. Made friends on Tumblr.
October: Uh, ok? Cut my finger on the slicer at work. Found out my best friends I have ever had in real life were moving away from me. BUT.. I did start expanding at work, and on Tumblr. Also the time my friendship with @riddles-n-games began to flourish.
November: Eh, good? Got my leadership role at work. Began to grow there. Thanksgiving was ok.
December: Not great. Family issues and struggles. Overworked from working so much. Stress of the holidays.
Overall rating: 6/10. Last year was a whole lot worse, so I can't complain to much.

Applying for jobs right now and I just noticed that Indeed has a Premium Plan.
For $29.99 a month.
Which will help you “Stand out and get you in touch with hiring managers.”
For $29.99 a month.
It is nebulously implied that you get employment advantages over other applicants.
This motherfucking website is playing the god damn prisoners dilemma with its users and I can literally feel my blood pressure rising.
#linkedin#getting a job#resume#WHAT DOES SEE HOW YOU COMPARE TO OTHER APPLICANTS MEAN ARE YOU LETTING PREMIUM USERS SEE MY RESUME SO THEY CAN TAILOR THEIRS IN RESPONSE?
