HEAR ME OUT.
What if that was Geo? What if they used to be friends? And then Geo scaped the dungeons and Vania simply though he was imaginary, thus forgetting about him?
It would make sense that Geo would not spend a lot of time with other Munce since he was pretty much treated like an outcast, so imagine baby Geo finding and making friends with an even babier Vania. Also, both of them doing art together (Since Vania did the Ninja cardboard, so she prolly likes art).
Anyways, Geo spending time with baby Vania and thinking of her as a little sister. Done? Got it? Great. Now imagine Cole telling him about Vania and his heart breaking about being remembered only as an Imaginary friend. You are welcome.

i said "i love you" (you say nothing back)
After defeating the Hoarder, Nya finds out exactly what Cole means when he says that it feels like the earth is screaming. Meanwhile, Cole knows that his and Geo’s time is running out.
“We’re gonna need to head out first thing in the morning,” Nya explained as she followed Cole around, the two of them on their own journey to find two sufficient air mattresses for her and Sora to sleep on for the night, but she had a much more pressing matter on her mind, “so, you and Geo?”
“What about Geo?” Cole asked, kneeling down next to a pile of junk and starting to dig through it.
“I just think it’s nice that you found him and the others, that you had others after the Merge,” Nya shrugged as she got down beside her best friend and started to dig through the pile of trash beside him while a much simpler time came to the forefront of her mind, “remember that true match machine?”
“Oh my god,” Cole laughed despite the thin lines of pain around his lips that Nya could only see in a certain light, “I nearly forgot about that stupid thing.”
“What, the machine that resulted in you and I going on one date? Where afterwards you said “I’m not talking to Jay, but you can’t pick me”? How did you forget that?” Nya couldn’t contain her laughter as they stood with zero luck and continued to walk, no longer in fear of the Hoarder now that it was trapped in a jar.
“I still can’t believe that was the last piece of the puzzle.”
“Yep, one date with me. That’s all it took for you to realize that you were gay,” she grinned, but it was quickly replaced by a frown of worry about where her yin was bubbling its way back to the surface of her mind, “I hope that the others find him.”
“Hey,” Cole’s voice was comforting as his hand rested on her shoulder, forcing her attention to him, “we will find him. One of us will find Jay, I promise. I mean, you and Sora found me in a place that, according to most people, doesn’t even exist. That’s gotta mean something.”
“I wish you would come with us.” Nya sighed, pulling an air mattress pump off of the top of a pile of junk, relieved to find that it was only slightly dented and battery powered.
“You know I can’t. Not until I can find a way to bring them with me,” Cole sighed, examining the device, “it would kill me to leave them-” the cry of anguish as he dropped to his knees forced a horrific scream from Nya’s lungs.
“Cole!” She rushed over and knelt down before pulling her best friend into her arms, “Cole, what’s-”
“Get Geo.” Was all he said before his eyes fluttered shut and his body went limp in her arms, making Nya’s stomach churn with worry; she tried to lift him so she could get him back to the Rookery, to find his boyfriend like he said to do, but despite her own share of muscle from the years of being a Samurai and then a ninja, he was still too heavy for her.
So she did the only thing that she could think to do and started to yell out, “Sora! Geo! Riyu! I need help!”
…
Nya’s heart pounded painfully in her chest as she looked around at the others surrounding her; Bonzal was crocheting, her boney hands working slowly but expertly with the light blue yarn that was reminiscent of her own gi. Fritz and Spitz were sitting on the ground, gluing together popsicle sticks into what she assumed was a log cabin, similar to how she had done it when she was their age. Sora and Riyu had gone out to resume finding mattresses for the two of them to settle for the night, insisting that since they had found a pump, a mattress had to be close by.
Nya couldn’t help but wonder if Bonzal’s crocheting was nerves or not with how slow she was working; she couldn’t help but remember her boyfriend’s anxious movements, his hands working nervously on all sorts of projects and inventions if only just to calm his overworking mind.
If he had been with her in this current moment, Jay would focus on trying to comfort her own nerves, using his own words to ground himself, but she didn’t dare wish for him to be there even in the comfort of her own mind, not even a good experience with a Dijin could change that.
With how at ease the boys were, even if they weren’t outwardly showing their nerves, Nya couldn’t help but wonder if what had happened to Cole was somewhat normal for the children he was now practically calling his own, for the skeleton who outwardly didn’t care for much but her craft projects as well as her weird collections and for Cole’s boyfriend, who was in the room just down the hall, tending to him.
It wasn’t that it was unexpected for Cole to have a boyfriend; ever since he came out to her, Nya was aware of the persistent crush he had once had on her brother as well as the brief romance that he had shared with Plundar. If she was being completely honest, she had been expecting it for a long time just like she knew the others had been expecting her to get back together with Jay.
But she couldn’t stop herself from wondering about Geo, the outcast of Shintaro that had found his way into Cole’s heart. They hadn’t spoken much to each other aside from the explanation of his own elemental powers, not that it wasn’t either of their faults given the attack from both The Hoarder as well as Dr. LaRow.
Admittedly, Nya couldn’t help but wonder if it was just her wanting to get to know the Munce, or if some part of her was still guarded from the mess that had been what had gone down with Harumi and Lloyd and as a result, wanted to protect the others from going through anything like that again.
She was so lost in her own mind that she hadn’t even registered Geo, slowly opening the creaking, wooden door until he approached the line of her vision, “how is he?”
“He’ll be okay,” Geo’s voice was steady, like anything about Cole passing out for seemingly no reason after expressing earlier in the day that it felt like the earth had been screaming ever since the Merge was okay.
“How are you so calm about this?” Nya questioned with a raised eyebrow, “this isn’t normal and not just in Ninjago. It’s not normal at all.”
Geo didn’t answer at first and Nya assumed that it was due to the fact that he was refusing to acknowledge her question, but she was surprised when Geo led her over to a small table pushed into the back of the room and handed her a hot mug of steaming chamomile, a scent she instantly recognized from her days working at Steep Wisdom.
“I don’t like scaring Fritz and Spitz,” Geo admitted as he passed her a small dish of sugar before taking a sip of his unsweetened tea, looking right at the young boys as he spoke, “they’re just kids. Kids who look at Cole the same way that they look at me.”
“So they’re your sons?” Nya pressed while sweetening her tea.
“In all but blood,” Geo affirmed, “the four of us, we were all rejected by our biological families, so we made our own and when Cole fell from the sky, we only assumed that he was like the rest of us.”
Nya nodded; she was instantly brought back to those cold autumn mornings in Ignacia where her feet would be so cold that she would instantly go to Kai’s bed and snuggle up to her furnace of a brother; even when he complained about her cold feet on his warm legs, she knew that he was grateful that at least he could provide warmth.
It had just been the two of them surviving together, hoping that the other villagers would take pity on them to the point of at least offering them a warm meal if they didn’t buy some of the extensive stock of weapons that only dwindled as they grew up.
In a weird way, she had been thankful for being taken by the skeleton army; after all, it wasn’t like they hurt her and afterwards, they had the guarantee of comfy beds and warm meals while Kai continued his training to become the master of fire.
“So, what happened out there?” Nya questioned, now that the chamomile was starting to calm down her anxiety and replaced it with the need for answers, “and why are you all so calm about this?”
“I know you said that this isn’t normal, and you are completely in the right, but it has become our normal,” Geo explained, stopping to take a sip of his tea, “a few weeks after Cole arrived, he fought the Hoarder for the first time. But when he used what he calls his “earth punch”, he confided in me later on that the earth struggled to obey his mastery and it felt like the ground was in agony.”
“So the pain is from his earth punch.”
“Not exactly,” Nya couldn’t stop her eyebrow from raising in confusion, but after being in so many confusing conversations throughout the years, she knew when it was better to remain silent, “after that day, he started to develop these migraines, he told me that he always hears the cries, but that he can drown them out. But some days, like today, it’s too strong for him.”
Nya swallowed in sympathy; after she had been brought back from the sea, she had been forced to go through the withdrawal of the lack of elemental power she had seen both Kai and Lloyd go through in the past. It had been painful to say the least between getting used to her own body again as well as the usual flu-like symptoms that came with having the elemental energy ripped from one's body.
But consistent migraines like that, long after the event that originally caused the internal turmoil, that was new to her; not impossible, but new. Just like everything else that she had learned within the past few weeks since she reunited with Lloyd.
“Is there anything that helps him get through the bad days?” Nya asked, pushing a loose strand of hair away from her face where it had fallen out of her ponytail, only to be disappointed when Geo shook his head.
“Not much. We haven’t been able to find any sort of medicine or herbal remedy to decrease the pain, but physical contact helps him ground himself, so it’s something.”
That was something that didn’t surprise Nya at all. Cole was always the first one to give and accept hugs to whoever might need one ever since she first met him; she had a particularly strong memory of the two of them holding onto each other tightly after a conversation about ghosts and newfound powers.
But as Geo spoke, every word rattled inside of her mind and filled it with the fact that Geo was not deceptive and had zero malicious intent for her friend. Rather, he may very well be the best match she had ever seen for Cole.
“Then you should go be with him,” Nya insisted, putting her now empty tea cup down on the table, “I’ll clean this up and make dinner.”
“Are you sure?” Geo questioned as she stood, taking his empty cup with her own towards the sink, “you and Sora have a long journey ahead of you tomorrow.”
“Geo, you are the first person I’ve met that has truly loved Cole,” Nya put her hand on the Munce’s to ensure that yes, she had his attention, “and right now, you are the one he needs. You’ve helped him through this before, I would have no idea what to do.”
Geo nodded as he stood, and Nya could have sworn that she saw a shiny tear trickle down his cheek but he made no move to acknowledge it as he walked back toward his and Cole’s shared bedroom, only stopping to turn back toward Bonzal and say, “help Nya with dinner if she needs it.”, before disappearing behind the wooden door.
…
Cole knew that if he stayed perfectly still and kept his eyes closed, the migraine would pass. It would take time and he would be bedridden for the rest of the night, but he knew that the throbbing in his mind and the subtle churn of his nauseated stomach would pass.
In the years that had passed in the Land of Lost Things, he got used to the throbbing of the scar that had come from the rift in the sky sealing around the left side of his skull.
He knew that any of the other ninjas would have been just as freaked out as he had been when it had started, he also knew that it had been foolish to believe that it had just been from the lack of adrenaline from fighting the Hoarder that first time.
But, he had Geo to get him through it by letting him rest his pounding head on his chest and the comforting squeeze of his arm around his shoulders. It didn’t stop the pain, the nausea or even the fainting, but it was enough for Cole to ground himself and know that he would get through it just like he had before.
“Hey,” the tender whisper broke through his thoughts, resting his gentle hand on Cole’s bare shoulder which gave him the strength to open his eyes in the pitch black room, “how’re you feeling?”
“Honestly?” Cole couldn’t stop his voice from trembling as he spoke because even moving the muscles in his jaw sent a flash of pain through his head, “like shit, the migraines…” he hesitated, but given the little of Geo’s face he could see through the makeshift blackout curtains that covered their windows, Cole knew that his boyfriend knew exactly what he was gonna say, “I think they’re getting worse. The screaming is getting louder.”
Geo’s mouth was pushed into a tight line, the face he made whenever he was deep in thought; Cole had seen it before, when the two of them discussed the Hoarder with Bonzal to try and figure out what exactly it was and how to stop it for good, as well as when the migraines first made their appearance and Geo had tried everything to remove the pain before it was decided that they should just try and manage the pain instead.
“You should go with Nya, Riyu and Sora tomorrow,” Geo finally spoke, and despite the pain, Cole immediately sat up in protest, “Cole, lay back do-”
“I am not leaving the boys, I am not leaving Bonzal and I am not leaving you,” Cole shook his head and fought back the wave of nausea that it caused as he grasped onto his boyfriend’s hands, “you four can’t leave, I can’t leave you.”
“Ninjago has more sufficient medical technology-”
“But Ninjago doesn’t have you,” Cole cut him off, his vision trying to dim around him due to the overexertion, “I need you, Geo.”
“I don’t want you to leave, Cole,” Geo’s voice trembled as he set a gentle hand on his chest, forcing his throbbing head onto the pillows, “but I also don’t want to lose you.”
Cole sighed as he chewed on the edge of his lip; he understood everything Geo was saying and he knew that his boyfriend wasn’t pushing him away because he no longer wanted him around but more so that he couldn’t find another solution to the problem and he knew that, in the depths of his mind where only the truest honesty inside of him was, he knew that the only solution had to be stopping the Merge Quakes.
“I love you, Geo,” Cole sighed as he moved to allow the Munce to get in bed beside him so he could rest his head against his chest, knowing that if this was the last night that he would be with Geo, then he was going to make sure that it ended on a good note, “and I swear that as soon as all of this is over, I’ll come back and bring you four with me.”
“I know you will,” Geo spoke softly before pressing his tender lips to the top of Cole’s head, wrapping his arm around his shoulders, “and Cole?”
Cole turned his head to look into Geo’s shiny eyes, feeling his own tears start to build up from both the migraine and knowing that this could very well be the last time that he shared the night with his boyfriend.
Despite all of that, Cole couldn’t help but smile when their lips met, the familiar sensation of nothing but pure love bringing his attention away from the pain for just a few moments before Geo pulled away and said what he got his attention for in the first place.
“I love you too, and if you can’t get back to us…” Geo stopped to push away Cole’s sweaty, raven-black hair away from his throbbing scar, never putting his fingers directly on it.
“Don’t finish that,” Cole pleaded, gently taking Geo’s purple fingers in his own hand, “I will come back to Bonzal, to the boys and to you. We’ll go back to Ninjago, and you guys can meet my dad,” he started to ramble, which he knew was from both the exhaustion and the migraine taking away his focus, but he had this conversation with Geo before deep in the night after they had their first kiss.
“And if we decide that Ninjago isn’t for us, we’ll go live with your friend, Queen Vania, in Shintaro,” Geo continued, pressing more soft kisses against Cole’s head while speaking, “and we’ll keep raising our boys where they’ll be as safe as they can be and where Bonzal will have so much thread and yarn that she’ll never run out of things to crochet or sew.”
“And when they’re a bit older,” Cole stopped to yawn, his eyes fluttering shut as he continued to mumble, “maybe we’ll have another one. I’ve always wanted three, you know.”
But as he let his eyes stay shut and his mind started to wander into dreamland, he heard Geo speak for just a few more moments.
“A girl, who we’ll name her after your mom,” one more kiss pressed to his forehead followed by a “good night, Cole” and after that, Cole couldn’t hear his boyfriend speak anymore.
He thought he heard the voice of Master Wu calling out to him, pleading with him to follow him, but it quickly faded to an empty void.
…
Spitz had burst into tears as soon as he heard that Cole would be leaving, his sobs turning into sniffles after Cole hugged him with a little bit of super strength and insisted that he would be back as soon as he could be.
Fritz was just as sniffly as Spitz when he hugged Cole tightly, but was much easier to cheer up with the promise of meeting the others, especially Kai, and the promise that he would be brought back the newest in ninja action figures.
Bonzal didn’t say much before leading the boys away, she didn’t even hug Cole, but when she stuttered over “bring me any bones you find, rock boy,” he knew that she was pushing back any of her emotions so he and Geo could have a proper goodbye without Fritz asking more questions about the dragon cores or Spitz becoming inconsolable about Cole leaving again.
But when the door closed, leaving the Master of Earth and the Munce alone, neither of them could break the silence as Cole pulled the backpack of his few things over his shoulder. He was still exhausted from the migraine that had overtaken him the day before, but the pain was gone and the screaming was quieter now.
Unfortunately, that also meant that his departure from the land he had called home, and the people he had called home for the last few years, was very real and not just an argument between him and his boyfriend.
“You be safe,” Geo’s voice broke through the seemingly impenetrable silence that had filled the living room as he rested his palm in Cole’s, the small burst of powers forming a brief heart shape around their hands, “you come back to us.”
“Geo,” Cole swallowed harshly, his mouth dry as he did, “tell me to stay and I swear, I will unpack this bag faster than the elemental master of speed,” Cole knew that he wouldn’t since he was the one who told him to leave the night before, but he was pleading just the same as his voice trembled into a honest stutter, “I-I love you.”
He should have known that Geo wouldn’t say another word, but the last thing he expected was for Geo to let his hand fall before walking with him toward the entrance. Cole wanted to take his hand again, to drop his pack and insist that he was staying, but that’s when Geo spoke one more time, pressing his hand to Cole’s cheek as he did, his eyes full of earnestness.
“You have to leave.”
And with that, Geo removed his hand from his cheek and turned around toward their bedroom, leaving Cole to stand in the entryway by himself.
His shaky breath filled the room as the water in his eyes started to fall, but he lifted his arm up, wiped away the tears, pulled the backpack tighter onto his shoulder and forced himself to walk out of the Rookery for the last time.
Despite that, he couldn’t stop himself from turning around for a brief second to try and get a glimpse of Geo from the window, only to remember that the blackout curtains were still up; so he continued walking toward Nya, Sora and Riyu to tell them that he would be going to follow Master Wu’s voice instead of coming with them.
But he knew that he wouldn’t tell Nya the reason that he was wiping heartbroken tears from his cheeks and if she pressed, he knew that he would have to lie to her only so she didn’t release any of her powers on the Finders.
‘I will return,’ Cole told himself as his eyes caught onto the small group in front of him, ‘and we’ll all make it back to Ninjago.’

Cole/Geo
No S2 Spoilers!
Warning for slight homophobic language (in a lighthearted joking manner)
⬇️⬇️⬇️
Geo rolled over under the covers. He groaned as beams of sunlight hit his face through the windows. It took a moment for him to register the coldness against his back, the way the mattress seemed to dip under his weight more.
"Cole?" Geo asked aloud, rubbing his eyes and sitting up. Everything still looked a little blurry.
"Kitchen!" Geo's ears twitched as he picked up Cole's distant shout. "Makin' breakfast!" A smile passed over Geo's face. He was always so good about taking care of the kids.
He slipped out of bed, pulling on his slippers at a leisurely pace. He stretched once, twice, three times until he felt his back pop.
It had started out as an arrangement of convenience - there were only so many beds in the Rookery, and Geo's had room to spare. It didn't take long for Cole and Geo to grow close under those conditions, and Geo was forever grateful. This was something he never thought he'd get to have, never thought he'd even be *allowed* to have. He got used to the new source of warmth - both in his heart and against his back - quickly.
It only took a few weeks after that for Geo to get used to the warmth that wrapped securely around him in the night, the strong arms of a lover. He'd only ever read about such a thing.
Geo enjoyed waking up to Cole's face pressed into his neck, or tucked against his chest. Geo enjoyed being woken up by a finger tracing his jaw, faint kisses lingering on his lips. Geo enjoyed being with Cole, sharing little moments of bliss each morning and night.
Geo shuffled into the kitchen, hiding a yawn behind his hand.
"Sleep well?" Cole asked, not turning from the stove. Geo smelled bacon.
"Yeah," Geo came up behind Cole to wrap him in an embrace, hooking his chin over the taller man's shoulder. "Did you?"
"Mhm," Cole hummed. "You're awfully touchy this morning," he laughed as Geo planted lazy kisses on his cheek.
"Missed you when I woke up," Geo pressed his face into Cole's shoulder, breathing him in. He always smelled like wet clay, it seemed. Geo liked the familiarity.
"Yeah, well, someone's gotta make breakfast." Cole smiled. "And we both know it wasn't gonna be Bonzle."
"True," Geo chuckled. Cole turned off the stovetop, spinning to face Geo.
Geo wrapped his arms around Cole's neck, pulled him close so that their noses touched. He tilted his chin, fitting his mouth perfectly against Cole's.
Cole hummed into the kiss, gripping Geo's waist tightly and pulling him closer. They broke apart, foreheads still connected.
"Ew, gross," Bonzle's voice rang from the entryway. Geo jumped back from Cole, unhooking his arms and wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. "Are you like, gay or something?"
"Hardy har, Bonzle." Cole rolled his eyes. "Bacon?" Cole asked as he turned around holding a plate of bacon.
"Not hungry after the *sin* I just witnessed," Bonzle said as she stole a piece off the plate, stuffing it quickly in her mouth. Bonzle smirked.
"Bonzle, do we need to have another diversity seminar?" Cole joked.
"Noo, I can't sit through that lecture again! I'll literally die." Bonzle dramatically flung her wrist against her forhead.
"You can't literally die, Bonzle," Geo sat down at the table, "Don't be silly."
"I'll mentally die. Emotionally. Spiritually. Other words ending in -ally." Bonzle collapsed onto one of the chairs, appearing boneless. It was very impressive.
They all laughed. Fritz and Spitz would be out soon to eat, and Geo loved them, but he also loved spending time like this with Bonzle. Just three adults joking around and having fun. The Land of the Lost seemed like such a dire place with out friends, without a family. It was nice to sit down and appreciate those people who made it all bearable.
Cole's hand found his under the table. Geo's face warmed as Cole's thumb rubbed circles against his knuckles. Bonzle mimed throwing up.
"Shut up," Geo snickered.
"I didn't say anything!" Bonzle threw her hands up in the air.
"You thought it," Geo pointed an accusatory finger. Bonzle looked almost genuinely offended. *Almost*.
She flipped him off.
Fritz and Spitz ran in at that moment, and Bonzle slammed her hand against the table. Geo had to use his free hand to cover his mouth and keep from laughing.
"Bacon!" Fritz and Spitz shouted in unison.
"Yes, bacon," Geo confirmed. The two kids squealed. They dove for the plate and ate with their hands. Cole just shrugged.
"I knew the risk when I made bacon," he sighed, shaking his head.
"Yes you did!" Spitz popped her head up to say, before returning to the plate.
Geo looked at Cole fondly. How had he been so lucky?
Cole looked back, the same message written across his smile.

QUESTION NINJAGO FANS!
We see that Euphrasia gains the wind element even though she's has no biological relation with Morror in any way, and Zane gained the element of ice even though he's a robot and even if the master of ice gave him his element by giving it to his weird circular heart thing (idk the name of it) wouldn't that mean pixal would have gained some of the power becuase he gave her half of his heart?
And if that's possible, then would Fritz / Spitz or even Bonzel gain Cole / Geos elemnatal power at some point?
It could also work for some Angsty ideas.
(I am using spitz for this) Imagine the finders waiting for Cole to return, and the finders are searching for some scrap, and they have to lift some heavy stuff out of the way. And while trying to move a piece out of the way, Sptiz hands begin to glow and then lift a huge piece out of the way with ease.
Now imagine the slow heartbreak they all feel as they all realize that Cole is dead and wondering whatever happened to him.
This can also work for Geo. Imagine the four of them getting back to the rookery because Colr broke a leg or Gaines a large scar, and when they try to wrap it up, one of them accidently binds the bandages to Coles clothes.
IK it probably wouldn't work that fast, but I am just saying, Angst.

I'm having a hard time writing right now. So here are some hcs I have for Cole and Geo :) it's a long list and might have spoilers for P2 so i've put them under the cut!
Geo finds out Cole is Lilly's son fairly soon after he realizes he's an earth elemental. it's kinda hard not to put the pieces together. Geo finds it so cool that Cole has been to Shintaro.
On that same note, they make plans to go back and visit there one day, if they can. Since there's peace between the Geckles and Munce now, Geo hopes that he might fit in now.
A little while after the Merge, Geo realizes he has powers. Geo and Cole start training together. That's how they figure out the 'fusion' of their powers.
The Finders were already in the Land of Lost things, and Geo found tehm shortly after he ended up there. He was always very protective of them. but Cole really beat him in that regard
Cole, very soon after ariving in the Land of Lost things, absolutly goes head to head with the Hoarder to protect the kids
he gets hurt/nearly hurt and geo is like oh wait I love him. Full on heart eyes. and then Cole wakes up and he's immediatly like, you Idiot why would you put yourself in danger like that???
Cole falls in love with him after he sees Geo comforting one of the kids after a nightmare.
Cole sings way more. Being away from his family really takes its toll on him and so he just starts humming and soon singing. Usually it's bits of songs that he heard on the radio.
But of course there's also the Theme that I've hced as somethign hsi mom and dad used to sing/dance to
in that same vein, Geo and Cole dance a Lot. usually it's slow, coreographed stuff. Lots of sweet moments in the Rookery after the kids are asleep
Cole Absolutly told Geo he was leaving before he left in Part 2. I'm fully convinced the show just didn't have time for it since his story wasn't central to what was going on this season. Next season will (hopefully) show more of him
Also, I fully believe that either Cole will move heaven and earth to Get Geo and the kids and what's her name ( i need to re watch part 2 im sorry) out of the land of lsot things. OR he will give up his ninja life and stay there. He will Not leave them. maybe the ninja try to convicne him that the Fate of the World is at stake and so he Needs to go. But he will dig his heels in 100%
Cole tries to come out to the ninja and they're very very suprotive. But a few weeks later Lloyd accidentally lets it out that they all already knew. Or at least had their suspicions. Cole, who was totally convicned that they wouldn't be suportive before he came out, loses it a ltitle bit bc he had no idea that they really did love him like that
cole and geo are Super touchy. They're always hugging, holding hands, leaning on echother. it's always pg but they have got to be touching the other at all times
bonus angst, Geo getting hurt in some fight and Cole Losing it and going full Spinjitzu Burst on the badguys. and geo's just like, damn that's hot. and passes out lol

Fabulous and fashion-conscious, known throughout Europe, Pauline Bonaparte was also bold and loyal. Napoleon's younger sister (pictured above) lived her own way, scandalously posing nude for a sculpture of Venus, the goddess of love. Pauline didn’t yearn for a crown, unlike her siblings, though she did become a princess. She was, one general recalled, “the only one who never asks for anything.” Alone among her siblings, she visited Napoleon when he was exiled on the island of Elba—and supported him financially. Who’s That At The Door? A walrus, ubiquitous at this coastal spot at Russia's northeastern tip. “When we were surrounded by walruses, the hut was shaking,” says photographer and Nat Geo Explorer Evgenia Arbugaeva. “The sound of their roaring was very loud; it was hard to sleep at night. The temperature in the hut was also raised dramatically because of the walrus body heat outside.” At this massive Pacific walrus rookery, about 100,000 walruses had hauled out of the sea to shore because the warming climate meant less sea ice for them to rest on.

Lego, please it’s all I want. I would drop an absurd amount of money on a set of the Rookery that comes with the Finders.
Can you imagine!?
A detailed play set that has all their rooms and the furnace? so neat!! And!! Geo’s art gallery?
Vague spoilers below:
Even though I am guessing the Finder’s are no longer going to be living in the Land of Lost Things anymore now that they were able to leave, I think it would be really neat for Lego to release a set based on the current home of one of the main characters. The Finders are Cole’s loved ones and they deserve to be treated as such, ig
Well, LEGO, what you're doing seems ironic to me.
Can we talk about how there has been no hint of a Geo minifigure to date?
God bless him, Geo is an elemental master and key in Cole's life (Long live Lostshipping). GEO DESERVES A MINIFIGURE. Although personally I would like to see a miniset of figures from the lost family.

this started as a Cole/Geo & Rocky Family sketch dump that eventually became my newest crackship... Dust.... because well.... if you knew me from 2019 you might remember OCs Kobe and Khazi who are basically Cole and Morro's kids.... and well I missed them, And I had the wonderful realization that I can draw whatever I want. SO, I made them all a family, you are welcome. They have 6 kids, because I AM including Euphrasia.
So anyways... Dust shipping, am i right? just though that it would be really fun if the ship was called 22 of September because "Earth, Wind & Fire Fusion"
anyways I think about all of them a normal amount.

Day 40
I left the sardine can of South Beach State Park and am due to leave Oregon today. I have picked most of my stops based on what I see on my upcoming route while looking at my National Geographic Adventure Atlas. If you like to road trip, travel, camp, the outdoors in general, I couldn’t suggest this atlas enough. I got one as a gift in 2007 and I have been a steadfast user ever since. So often there is no service when I’m traveling, and even if there is, it's hard to know where to start randomly googling to find what may interest me. It feels like a shot in the dark when there’s the world wide web out there and no point of reference to start at. Enter, the Nat Geo Adventure Atlas; it lists points of interest, scenic sights and drives, camps, parks, rest stops, weird stuff, some stuff that is intriguing because Google may not have a lot to say about it. I have found some amazing spots using this atlas and couldn’t suggest it enough. (*this post NOT sponsored by Nat Geo, although I kinda wish it was.)
Tumblr media
What did I see on the atlas this morning? Sea Lion Caves. Having no idea what it was, I headed out. It’s a privately run site that, contrary to what I’m used to in Texas, seems to be doing a pretty good job with conservation and protection of the land and the sea lions. I hadn’t realized I had seen shots of this famous cave so many times in my life, but surprise, there it is! This is the largest sea cave in the US and the sea lions congregate here in the winter. Being summer, they warned me there will be no sea lions in the cave, so they gave me a discount and a rain check to come back anytime in the future to try again. I’m ok with that, especially because just down the path towards the cave, I stopped to get a picture of a huge group of cormorants hanging out on a cliff face when, hey, lookie there, a bunch of sea lions. Everyone had just walked past them straight to the elevator, down to the cave that they know has no sea lions in it. They leave the cave in summer to their rookeries on the cliffs during summer in order to have their babies.
Tumblr media
I actually heard them before I spotted them, so I must have rolled a 20 on my wildlife skills. I pointed them out to all the passerby’s, who were amazed, especially those who had just journeyed to the empty cave.
Tumblr media
Down at sea level, they had plenty of exhibits in the cave, even telling you the sea lions are probably on the cliffs outside since it’s summer. The cave was pretty, and I can imagine how cool it would be if it were filled with sea lions, but I enjoyed the video and the view of the lighthouse.
Tumblr media
Of course, I stopped on the way out to watch more sea lions (first time sea lion spotter here). I took the other hike to a coast view, where I spotted three lonesome sea lions hanging out just below the overlook. I got to see two of them jump into the water and jump up like a dolphin. All I can think of is that old cartoon I loved as a kid where the little baby seal follows Mickey Mouse home from the zoo and gets in the bathtub with him. What a great cartoon.
Tumblr media
I had some lunch on the road and headed down to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, run by the Forest Service. I received the Oregon Dunes/Suislaw National Forest Junior Ranger Badge! I dedicate this badge to Bobbie and Bud. Thanks for supporting my fundraiser! It means the world to me to have family come to bat for something I not only care about, but I struggle with every day. I hope someday soon we can catch up at a gathering, it’s been so very long!
Tumblr media
I headed to a short, paved hike through the forest that would lead me to the dunes. I wasn’t going to head all the way to the ‘actual’ beach, as I am definitely not feeling up to a 2-mile hike, one-way, over sand dunes. I was happy enough reaching the edge of these goliaths, slipping out of my flip flops, and roaming up the nearest hill like Lawrence of Oregonia.
Tumblr media
I just sat up there a while, watching the wind blow an almost invisible layer of sand into the atmosphere. Even though this is a common entry point, once I was on top of the dune, the other side was pristine; no footprints, no sled marks.
Tumblr media
I love driving the Northwest coast, the same as I love just sitting on their beaches; the clouds though the Earth in a way that makes it look like the land just slips away into the sky and nothing lays beyond. The shroud of fog that, once you go through it, could be the portal to another world. It’s just so magical, watching the trees disappear into the mist, the horizon held hostage by white. The smudge of atmosphere that steals definition of land, sea, and sky.
Tumblr media
I arrived at the KOA Redwoods, which I’ve stayed at before. It’s by no means the nicest KOA, but it’s the prettiest one I’ve seen, as much of it is set back in a thick forest of (you’ll never guess) Redwoods and ferns. This time I booked a pull through site, guessing I would be tired, so I didn’t think I’d end up in the pretty forest. When I checked in, the clerk said they were refunding me $1.25, but didn’t know why. Odd…but ok..? I looked at the map and the spot wasn’t a pull through and was back in the hard to navigate maze of trees so I asked if the refund was because they took away the pull through site I booked. She looked kind of scared and said, “I guess so.” I don’t require much, but a little, “Oh yes, sorry about that.” Would have sufficed. I do get peeved when a company/employee can’t say “whoops, sorry about that” even if I know they can’t fix it (I’m looking at you, Halloweentown.)
I may have lost my pull-thru site, but at least I was tucked back in the redwoods. It did, however, take me 3 passes, even using a map, to find the road going into the forest that my site was down. But boy howdy, I got $1.25.

Okay so for the entirety of the original series he had absolutely no clue, not even an inkling of an idea, that he was anything other than a cis man. Just did not occur to him ever. For the first few seasons he was too busy denying that he liked men to even think about his own gender. There was also, y'know, the constant dangers to Ninjago to worry about.
Then, the Merge happens, suddenly Cole's in the Land of Lost Things and other than the Hoarder there's not a ton of danger around. He meets this family and almost instantly slots into his role as father and protector, it's just how he is. He less-instantly starts falling for Geo but that also happens pretty quick (even if the actual relationship development takes a while longer).
Anyway, one day fairly early on (and by that I mean like a year or so into living there), the Hoarder is doing its thing, being scary and dangerous and Cole is holding his little kids close in the Rookery while they wait for it to pass. Spitz and Fritz are still pretty damn young and easily freaked out and Cole's just doing his best to comfort them, telling them it's okay, he's here for them, they're safe. But suddenly he stops himself in the middle of a sentence because he realizes he was about to say something along the lines of "it's okay, Momma's here".
It's just a little word, just a slip of the tongue maybe, but he ends up dwelling on it far longer than you'd expect, a single question plaguing his mind: "Do I want to be a Mom?" And the answer he keeps coming back to is... Yeah. Yeah he does. He tests out the word, how it sounds, how it feels. Finally he asks his kids to try using it. It feels right.
At first it's sort of a joke, really, or a nickname. That's what he tries to tell himself anyway. But what he starts to realize is that maybe he's a little too attached to being a big, masculine man. He's defensive about it. It's the same defensiveness that kept him from realizing he was gay, and maybe it's keeping him from something else.
He dips his toes in the water with he/they pronouns at first, still too anxious to consider anything else. But they/them doesn't sound right, so he goes back to he/him.
He's sure he wants to be a mom. What he's grappling with now is whether or not that means he wants to be a woman. Sometimes it just doesn't feel right. He struggled so hard for his identity already, why does he have to go through this now?? And sometimes it feels so incredibly right he could cry.
He knows, logically, that he doesn't have to choose. He can be both. But it takes an embarrassing amount of time to really accept that and internalize it.
He's afraid, really. He knows what he looks like, he knows it won't be easy for people to see him as anything but a masculine man, because it's still hard for him to see anything but that. He's a protector, and some regressive part of him still ties that to masculinity.
But that's silly. His mother was a protector. She was a fighter. She was tall and buff just like he is. And she was kind and gentle and wore pretty things and Cole can be all those things just like her. Or maybe just like herself.
She finally comes out to her family and they accept her immediately, of course they do. Then Nya and Sora show up and hear Cole being called feminine terms and of course Nya also accepts her. Sora can even relate, he's bigender too. Aaaand everything's awesome and great and her friends love and accept her and I should stop talking cuz this is way longer than I intended it to be anywayyyyy thanks for asking <3

Part 2
The Unfortionate Yet Intended Perception of Social Housing
If we take ourselves back to the heart of the industrial age to the 19th century of the United Kingdom, we can find the origins of the story of SH. In fact at the end of the 18th century cities all across the UK (although not in Ireland to the same degree with the exception of Belfast) were expanding at a rate never seen before. People all across the UK and Ireland began flocking to these expanding cities to avail of the new work and labour opportunities.
“The Industrial Revolution changed material production, wealth, labor patterns and population distribution. Although many rural areas remained farming communities during this time, the lives of people in cities changed drastically.
The growth of cities led to horrible living conditions. The wealthy fared far better than the industrial workers because they could afford to live in the suburbs on the outskirts of the city.”
(P. Chappine, 2014)
The question now was what would become of these grand, often very well kept Victorian and Georgian styled buildings. The answer of course was to rent them to the less well off, or at the time the working classes, indeed the very people who made the industrial revolution possible. The politicians and elites of the time knew this very well of course and so wanted to help these worker bees survive and prosper, giving them a roof over their heads was a good start. People and families who were often crammed into single rooms had nowhere else to go and became trapped in these buildings. The profitable margins for this new landlord class grew and grew and in large part played a role in turning these cramped buildings into living nightmares for these young and often very large families. Government reports at the time indicated that as many as 6 people slept to one bed.
“The sanitary conditions in early industrial cities were filthy as well. Since the municipal governments did not concern themselves with cleanliness at the time, the cities did not have proper waste disposal systems, and people threw trash and sewage directly into the streets. The burning coal of the industrial factories coated cities in a layer of grime and polluted the air, and water supplies were polluted by waste”.
(P. Chappine, 2014)
With the scene now set. The place is Shoreditch London, 5th of March 1900, an area in the East End of London which forms the southern part of the London Borough of Hackney, see maps below that will help geo-graphically navigate one self.

This would become the scene of the first SH project anywhere in the world, built by the *ounce* esteemed London County Council (LCC). According to the Guardian and its Social Housing Archive, titled ‘Shoreditch slums give way to country’s first social housing’, this new and ambitious project was built on top of;
“what was for many years a huge slum in Bethnal Green, on the site of that which three centuries ago was the garden of the nunnery of St. John the Baptist, Holywell, is now a little town in itself” with beautiful “red brick (Victorian style) buildings, large well-ventilated rooms, workshops, wash-house and baths, a recreation hall, and outside a terraced garden with a central band stand”.
(The Guardian Archive Social Housing, 2016)
The images below show how it looked at various points in history, demonstrating it lasted this length of time to be almost in perfect condition today;

“The campaign to raze the Old Nichol Rookery slum was spearheaded by Rev Osborne Jay. Looking south east in 1895, all that remained of the former slum was St Philip's Church. Jews, and later the Bengali community, brought greater diversity to an area which was already a cultural melting pot”.

The estate is nearing completion by 1903, with only the bandstand still to be added. A 2009 Museum of London excavation proved that the central mound was raised from the rubble and left-behind items of the former slums.

“The new tenements housed some 6,000 residents at their peak, which exceeded the number displaced by the construction. Tellingly though, it's said that only 11 of the former slum-dwellers could afford the new rents”.

“The estate's provision of green open space was considered radical in a city with longstanding spatial challenges consequent on the Industrial Revolution”.
 (James Fitzgerald, 2018)
At the time LCC was a newly established public body and wanted to hit the ground running with a lasting effect on the ever expanding city of London. It is worth mentioning the chairman of LCC, one Alderman Arthur Arnold who was behind the idea, along with its designer Owen Fleming. Just to highlight what was mentioned previously, because this build literally solved a lot the problems of the time. The design was meant to help these people, with good well taught out design, large well-ventilated rooms, workshops, wash-house and baths, a recreation hall, and outside a terraced garden with a central band stand as was mentioned previously. This really was a fantastic piece of work by LCC, delivering above and beyond people’s expectations, not just then, but more importantly today. This kind of quality build simply does not happen anymore.
The next section will work with some quotes from the time period to give an idea of the thinking at the time by the elites. One Prince of Wales Edward VII (Albert Edward) gave a speech on the opening day of the unveiling at Shoreditch;
“It is to be feared that the very Acts designed to combat existing evils may themselves give rise to results which were not foreseen. But one thing is certain - the difficulties have to be surmounted. I am satisfied not only that the public conscience is awakened on the subject, but that the public demands, and will demand, vigorous action in cleansing the slums which disgrace our civilisation and the erection of good and wholesome dwellings such as those around us, and in meeting the difficulties of providing house room for the working classes at *reasonable rates* by easy and cheap carriage to not distant districts where rents are reasonable.” – (Cheers from attending crowed)
(Edward VII, 5th of March 1900)
Edward VII speaks very well as one would expect of a man of his class and background. He very elegantly talks about results and actions having not been foreseen…about the public conscience awakening, I mean It’s almost laughable if it wasn’t so serious a situation in today’s climate (2021). What would he have to say if he saw the decline in building standards some 120+ years after his speech, with all the advancements in technology, would he believe it? He talks about civilisation being disgraced…I mean I would agree, but again, how would he define a typical Council Estate nowadays compared to this fantastic development he speaks of in Shorditch? Nowadays of course, they don’t create communities like they use too, not like say Marino in Dublin 9 (where I lived for 3 years), or say the Dublin inner city communities. Specifically in Dublin 1 and the work achieved by the late and great Tony Gregory.
He speaks of *Reasonable rates* etc., what would he have to say about today’s rent prices. For example, here in Dublin Ireland, with the average monthly rent costing 2000+euro. This is more than half the annual amount earned per average household, being at 40,000 according to Jobs.ie. And just to add some meat to this bone, I’m an aspiring Spatial Planner, with an Honours Degree. I can expect to be paid anywhere from 24,000 to around 30,000 annually, even if we take the lower end, all that income would be going onto rent, which of course, is an extreme example but still. Recently in the Irish Times, Mark Paul published a piece titled ‘Dublin fourth most expensive city in euro zone for expatriates, survey finds’, in it, Dublin was ranked 4th most expensive EU city to live in. According to pension specialist Mercer, they bill Dublin as the 39th most expensive place on the planet to live, which is up seven spots from last year on the list of more than 200.
The last quote from Edward VII Prince of Wales is the following;
“It is most satisfactory that the London County Council, so soon after its constitution, should have cordially co-operated with the vestries of Bethnal Green and Shoreditch in rooting out a nest of vice and disease and replacing the miserable courts and alleys and insanitary and filthy houses with excellent buildings designed to provide comfortable homes for the working people.” - (Cheers from attending crowed)
(Prince of Wales Edward VII 5th of March 1900)
This is the bit that I find most telling. The Prince speaks about doing a good job in your County Council area. He mentions the newly established LCC and how this clearly use to be a subject of pride, to look after people in a sense. Of course, Shoreditch London is a place of pride, 120+ years after being built. But the LCC bodies reputation is in tatters, destroyed utterly by the Grenfell Tower disaster in the summer of 2017, and might I add, rightly so!
Simple few questions to consider?
How many Council Estates built in the last 50 years will still be standing in another 100 years and in good nick?
How many will still be sought after by the wealthiest in our societies?
