Lorenzo - My boy knows all the b-sides by heart. I feel like his favourite is Red Velvet. Has all the albums and even has the Japanese special editions. Definitely collects Yeri photo cards. Is buying the lipstick that has recently come out. Has like half of the Twice albums because he started to collect them recently. You can find other groups as well but I feel like he's more of a 3 gen Stan. A whole dedicated bookshelf to this stuff in his room. Knows any and every girl group dance.

Draco - Another person that's deep into it. I feel like Lorenzo introduced him and let him run wild. My boy got stuck on NCT. Genuinely believes he could be a part of any NCT unit. Saw Johnny once and folded. His favourite unit is Wayv tho. Feels like he could be the best of friends with Yangyang. Quotes Jaehyun' Wait a minute ' all the time. Has at least one photo card of each member. Cried when NCT Hollywood happened and was mad he wasn't from Hollywood.

Mattheo - I feel like he knows what's up but doesn't go too deep. Really resonated with TXT's LO$ER=LO♡ER song. Has a playlist that just K-pop but only listens to it alone. Ngl, I feel like he's kinda embarrassed. Not by listening to K-pop, but just by how deep he got into it. Buys albums he aesthetically likes. Pulls who he pulls and does not trade. Is unaware he has one of the rares cards that are worth like a million. I feel like he would have a cardboard cutout and get jump scared every time he sees it because he forgot it's there.

Theodore - Is in it because of a scandal. He saw a dating scandal and his noisy ass was right there to inspect it. Loves to watch those crack videos on TikTok and YouTube. He's more into it for the content than the music. He will listen to it but is shaking to watch the next skz family. Fell for the Felix effect for sure. Has one single Stray Kids album where he pulled both Felix and Changbin and decided he didn't need anything else. So noisy that he believes Misung is real and will argue about it.

Blaise - I feel like he knows about it because of the other. Doesn't really listen to a certain group. When he likes a song he likes a song. Doesn't speak Korean but nails every song in karaoke. Will buy tickets to Waterbom and enjoy every second of it. That and KCON. Likes subtle merch more than flashy one, doesn't like it when it has the group's name plastered all over the front and back. Enjoys 2 Gen probably the most. He is open to any songs just send them his way.

Comfort food(s): If I'm going purely sweets then I'm going to say Thin Mints. I did Girl Scouts for a large portion of my childhood and those were and still are my absolute top tier favorite Girl Scout cookie and I'm not even kidding saying I could polish off an entire box in one sitting and regret nothing.

Comfort drink(s): Hot cup of coffee. Granted I normally drink iced coffee during the summertime for obvious reasons but hot coffee is still my favorite.

Comfort movie(s): Pirates of the Caribbean. More specifically the first three because I heavily prefer those to the fourth and fifth installments. I don't mind the fourth one and I'll willingly watch it if I'm in a mood to binge the series again but I wasn't in love with the fifth one and I just wish certain elements of the movie had happened in earlier installments instead. But I just love the cast as a whole and the soundtrack and I can have it on as the best background noise while I'm doing other things and just be happy. I also have the first three soundtracks at work to use as naptime music and my daycare kids genuinely love the music.

Comfort show(s): Yuri on Ice. I always do an annual rewatch of the show and have done so every year since the show came out in 2016. I'll probably keep doing so just because I'll always love the series even if MAPPA clearly doesn't because the suck-- /gets yanked off stage to not go on an anti MAPPA tangent again

Comfort clothing: Pajama pants. I wear those as much as I humanly can because they're stretchy and comfy, and ngl I'm extremely guilty of wearing them to work a lot only because I'm allowed to wear what I want as long as nothing's stained or ripped or having anything offensive or inappropriate for kids on it. I'm here for comfort not fashion when I clock in to take care of threenagers all day rofl.

Comfort song(s): Anything Lady Gaga. I'm not super familiar with her newest album Chromatica as I am with the previous ones but I'm still a huge fan of hers and I'd 100% go see her in concert again if the opportunity arose, she's worth every penny imo.

Comfort book(s): I don’t really have a set of comfort books to share right now. I might update this in the future with some, but the only memorable story is “You”. I prefer it over the show for sure. The exploration of a man so psychologically twisted that when he finally “settled” and had a kid, he would abandon a son, purely out of disgust, knowing that he would turn out just like him. Also, Guinevere Beck is my favourite. I just perceive her as a human character, somebody with flaws that are outlined clearly, and it was an aspect I really enjoyed. I might even reread the first book, just for her. Side note: the cage is such a cool concept, and I will be taking notes. kidding. not really.

Comfort game(s): Either anything Harvest Moon or old school Pokemon (think Johto region, that's always been my favorite). Those are old school nostalgia for me growing up and you'd have me be happy having to go restart the original Gold/Silver for the 15th time or go start a new save file on Harvest Moon (which speaking of I want to pick up the remake again once I'm out of icon hell and don't have to drag my laptop to work all the time). They're just relaxing turn my brain off games that I love.

Having Gary Barlow as a song writer was a surprise for me, I was maybe expecting Chris Martin to be involved somehow. Tbf I don't really know Gary Barlow all that much apart from when he was a judge on X Factor UK which I watched as a teenager. The Brit pop rock feeling of Running Wild is great for me but again my favourite song changes every listen.

Super Tuna never fails to bring a smile to my fave 😂. It's so silly and childish but so totally Jin at the same time. Like only this man can make an emotional song abt going to military and loving his fans but also have a silly ass tune abt catching Tuna. The versatility with this man is wild and I genuinely love everything he's putting out, I havent watched any of the stuff, I'm saving it all for a rainy day when I need my bias to pick me up.

I actually listened to most of the b-sides yesterday while I was doing my hair and yeah yeah they DEVOURED.

But wait lemme start on kitsch since it was the pre-release so obviously the first song I heard. I saw a lot of ppl on twt and tt didn't like her😠 BUT I GOT HER IMMEDIATELY OKAY!! The sound itself is good but honestly the element that really made the song stand out were the lyrics. Especially wonyoung's parts?? "you have hidden intentions but I won't fall for it bc I'm a smart one"??? Left me speechless bc she's damn well aware of how the internet goes after her. That lyric was literally perfect for her to sing.

And also they have sm fun performing it🥺!! I was kinda scared cause Liz got like 5 seconds but performance wise?? especially during mubank paris!! she didn't come to play at ALL her energy was so immaculate YOU CAN NEVER KNOCK A QUEEN DOWN!!!

Also!! Why does niece leeseo also know how to rap like?? when she covered rei's part I had to do a little double take like OKAYYY!! she's so criminally underrated. I saw she appeared on lee mujins service and the snippets I've seen of her singing was too good. like we don't even know HOW good ive's singing abilities are bc I honestly feel like they hardly get showcased to us in a live setting but yeah I think they're getting more opportunities to showcase their vocals now which is so great.

And then I AM!! Honestly I love love the title track sm. It genuinely showcases their vocals which is why I was so shocked listening to it. Like okay high notes!! AND ADLIBS!!! (in my opinion, they normally only have liz and yujin show off their adlibs in the b-sides like royal or my satisfaction but FINALLY we get a little something something in the title track😭) I really like the song lyrically too. It's so girl power💗

Blue blood is so good too though😩😩😩 Idk definitely top 3 for me even though I didn't read the lyrics yet. I didn't read the lyrics to hypnosis either HOWEVER rei and gaeul at the end?? that song is theirs like why were they going in like thattttt?? it may be my favourite rap of them so far ngl.

there was another song that I really liked bc it was giving summer vibes but I was focusing on my hair and didnt get to see what it was called😭

overall I really liked the album. definitely enough to want to go back and re-listen to the other b-sides. ive seem to be having fun in their performances too, so I'm really glad for them too.

I think the songs in this album definitely opens up a wider variety of performance elements for them to explore during award show performances so I hope their performance directors and choreographers use that to their full advantage. like a blue blood dance break or intro would be so fucking amazing if they got the chance to execute it properly😫

I also hope rei gets better soon though. It's an unfortunate situation that she can't participate in promotions, but she should take all the rest she needs bc her symptoms sound really scary to me. I hope whatever it is isn't too serious. wishing her a speedy recovery🙏❤️

UPDATED RANKING OF TAYLOR SWIFT’S SONGS IN HER NEWEST ALBUM, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT:

(again, to anyone who isn’t a Swiftie, just ignore this post because you won’t understand a single thing I’m saying lmao)

1. Fortnight — 6.9/10, I liked this more than I expected lmao. It is, as expected, SO MUCH BETTER than the AI version. Deducting points because it’s not the greatest genre imo but it still managed to be a bop, so well done Taylor.

2. The Tortured Poets Department — 10/10. Love it Love it Love it. Genuinely one of my favourites on this album.

3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys — 7/10. Also love it. It was less corny than I thought it would be lmaoo, but my predicted ranking was the same as this one.

4. Down Bad — 9/10. I didn’t enjoy this song as much as I thought it would (as a hardcore Rep stan I think you can imagine how upset I was 😭), but it’s still a great song in itself.

5. So Long, London — 8/10. If I told myself yesterday that I would be ranking SO LONG LONDON as an 8/10 I think I would’ve gone crazy. The lyrics 100% hit the spot but, again, the genre makes me hard to rank it as high as I would’ve liked.

6. But Daddy I Love Him — 7/10. Not as corny as a I thought. Great song. Apologies for underestimating it 🙏🏼

mmm that's a rlly interesting question!! I'm honestly not sure abt whole albums, but like I kinda think abt songs. I tend to give Adam my music taste since I feel like it'd be preeetty similar? so like eve 6, placebo, pup, the front bottoms, grandson, lucky boys confusion, etc.! I also feel like Adam is just one of those ppl who Loves introducing ppl to his music, so Lawrence has heard quite a bit of it. if he's super fond of a certain song + recommends it to you, that's his way of being like "hey I love u listen to this" and Lawrence Does, every time. good ones r enemy by eve 6, just one he rly likes, n blind by placebo, one that does remind Adam of he and Lawrence + that's why he shared it. (one of his favourites is nancy boy though and watching Lawrence hear that one fr the first time... an experience. amazing)

Lawrence's music taste... omg. I love this man sm. I Adore the hc though that he ends up listening to a lot of pop just bc diana loves it, so catch him humming the words to one of those songs while he's washing the dishes, tapping his foot n everything while Adam is cracking up at the table (but he's got heart eyes so). HOWEVER bc of this I also feel like Lawrence absolutely loves like. 70s thru 90s music. so like. NKOTB, the beach boys, wham!, beastie boys (can u IMAGINE this man rocking out to no sleep till brooklyn. THOSE r the ones he shares w Adam, bc they're his favourites!! (ngl every time honky cat comes on Adam is just like "omg u fucking dork" but his face is Always 🥺... sometimes he plays it when Lar's having a bad day bc it helps a little bit,,) but ones he shares w Adam specifically bc it reminds him of them? tiny dancer + your song. it's not even that it's particularly fitting, just tht Adam comes to mind when he hears them, and Adam... needs a moment bc. omg. that is so fucking cute I love you??? oh my god??? Adam affectionately refers to Lawrence's music taste sometimes as a blend of dad rock + boy bands. it's jokes bc he loves that kinda music too sometimes but Lawrence is always like Hey. It's Good Isn't It? ejkhfja little jokey arguments omg. overall they're very open to each other's music taste and regularly are like "hey I heard this n it reminds me of you" and it's just rlly sweet.

okay so Adam has like. a pretty intense oral fixation. sooo many times Lawrence has caught him chewing on the erasers of pencils, the drawstrings on his hoodies, sometimes his nails (which is actually one of his more harmful stims, since he picks them down so far and ends up with really painful fingertips; Lawrence keeps an eye on that one and like. lets him know when he’s doing it bc sometimes Adam genuinely doesn’t notice), stuff like that. and like he talks to Adam abt his stims + abt what kind of stim toys r out there, so he kind of gets this idea to get Adam a chew necklace. Adam hasn’t rly had one b4 but he knows of them, so Lawrence gets the idea to just. surprise him w one!

he gets one fr moderate chewers bc he figures that’s what Adam is, and he’s honestly. veeery particular abt the one he chooses. like he puts more thought into it than he probably needs to kjdfkdlksj he’s like that when he gets Adam planned gifts, he can’t help it,, but! I like to think he gets this one fr him (which, again, is one I have in teal!) in claret, which is a deep red; he likes this one bc Adam could chew on it w his back teeth if he wanted + he could just hold it in his mouth if he wanted while he works on things. Lawrence’s not... nervous abt it, he feels pretty confident that Adam will at least like it, but he’s never like... gotten smth like that, so he’s a little bit anxious to see if it’s okay.

so when it actually arrives he’s careful that He is th one who gets the mail so he can keep it a secret, and then after dinner he’s like “so I did a bit of research n I know you like chewing on things so! I got u smth!” and he’s still a little shy abt it but Adam is already looking at him like... 🥺 you what?? so Lawrence hands him the lil box n is like “I wasn’t sure what specifically to get but I hope this will be okay,” and like. when Adam takes it out he’s just like. Oh. Like An Actual Necklace. and the first thing he does is put it around his neck and just pops it in his mouth to test it and the Look on his face is sooooo happy. he’s just like “I love this??? I can just Hold It!!” and Lawrence is happy too bc that was smth he thought about!!!

neither of them cry or anything like that but they’re definitely both just like “I love you so so much” @ each other. n after that Adam usually always has it w him; he holds it in his mouth when he’s developing photos, chews on it instead of his nails + when he’s feeling nervous, sometimes chews it w the back of his teeth while they’re in public. Lawrence is just so happy he likes it and Adam rlly appreciates the thought + loves tht Lawrence put so much thought into it,,,

I also kinda honestly like the idea that they Both get spinner rings? bc Adam gets one and Lawrence is curious abt it so he’s like “yeah try it see if u like it!” n Lar realizes that they’re actually pretty cool n wldn’t mind having one. he gets a rly simple black one while Adam gets a rly pretty metallic blue one, and it actually helps a little bit to calm Lawrence’s paranoia sometimes when they’re out n about,, I hc that after Jigsaw he still has issues w that a little so. it helps n it’s nice!!

to elaborate on smth I mentioned briefly b4, Lawrence is suuuper helpful w pressure stims!!! he gives the most amazing bear hugs and he gets rlly good at interpreting when Adam needs one (when he’s nonverbal, he just sort of. nudges Lar w his shoulder. Lawrence figures out what this means pretty early). he doesn’t mind giving longer ones too, if that’s what Adam needs. he likes being able to do that for him, knowing that it makes him feel better/at least happier when he’s not upset n just wants that pressure. and of course Lar is pretty fond of being close like that; it’s something he didn’t rlly allow himself before, so as long as Adam is okay w it, he loves being able to indulge that want.

to branch off of this, something they regularly do is Lawrence will stretch out on the couch or the bed and Adam will lay on him. he’ll have his arms wrapped tight around Adam’s middle, so there’s still some of that pressure, bc it helps to make Adam feel calmer + also just bc he likes it. they do this a lot during storms or just quiet nights in where they’re not rlly focusing on what’s on TV. I know I mention this one a lot in my fics but I’m So So fond of it,, Adam just lets out this huge sigh and Lar can feel the tension in his body start to seep out and it’s sooo nice. again, another form of closeness Lawrence adores + loves knowing it helps Adam too!!

mmmm little thing, Lawrence might not suuuper understand Adam’s echolalia, but he doesn’t make fun of it/tell him to stop, and that’s like. smth that Adam is so completely unused to. he’s not at all used to ppl just accepting it, having been belittled/punished/made fun of fr it by both his parents + his peers/teachers n other adults, so like he’ll be repeating stuff from movies/shows/memes (bogos binted...) or outlining the steps of a certain task he’s completing and Lar will just. nod. he’ll check sometimes, just 2 ask if Adam is talking to him, but he’ll just smile n nod when Adam admits that he’s not n so Adam stops feeling like... nervous abt expressing that around Lar and it’s nice. it’s good. I feel like Adam’s very at peace w being autistic, but he’s always been a little anxious abt that particular facet just bc of how much backlash he’d faced for it b4, so like to have Lawrence just treat it as nothing out of the ordinary/accept it as it is... it means a looot to Adam. so so much.

Adam coming out to Lawrence:

okay so I feel like this is def smth Adam was pretty nervous abt,, it’s smth that former partners hadn’t reacted particularly well to, and Lawrence is very very important to him + the most stable relationship he’s probably ever had (after they work thru things in the beginning of course), so he’s kind of worried abt how it’ll go. not that he thinks Lar is like, a shitty person like that - honestly, Adam rlly only expects to get some awkwardly-worded questions - but he’s been wrong b4, and while he rlly rlly hopes he won’t be this time, he can’t help feeling that anxiety.

and he tries to plan it out, he rlly does, but I think what happens is this: he’s doing his t shot in the bathroom (I don’t think he Intentionally hides his vial or anything, but it is behind stuff in the cabinet), the door’s not closed or anything bc he’s not using it/taking a shower, n Lawrence is walking around looking fr him n sees that the bathroom door is slightly ajar + hears Adam sigh as he completes the injection (he finds breathing thru it helps). so he walks in while Adam’s doing it, needle still in, and Adam just. freezes. and is like oh dear god hi. I am not doing drugs.

and there’s a brief pause before Lar just blinks and is like “is that testosterone?” bc I def feel he’s at least encountered one or two trans patients, so he knows a Little bit, and Adam just. doesn’t talk fr a minute. opens n closes his mouth, blinks, and nods, bc what does he say? Lawrence follows that up w “you’re trans?” and Adam nods again, still so very nervous, and Lawrence just smiles n is like “you know that’s fine, right? it’s okay - wait, were you nervous??” and Adam just NODS AGAIN bc he’s experiencing So Many Fucking Emotions right now, and Lar just proceeds to help him care fr the injection site after, bc he might not have ever done this task w t in particular, but he does know basics obviously.

it’s not until after Lawrence gently rolls a bandaid on that Adam talks, and his voice is so so small, and he’s just like, “I swear I was gonna tell you, I was just scared, not ‘cause I think you’re a bad person but like I’ve had ppl react badly and I wanted to plan it, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to like keep it from you,” and he’s just babbling but then Lar just sort of leans down and hugs him and says, “I can’t say that I’m particularly knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but I love you, and you being trans doesn’t change that, okay? it’s fine. we’re fine.” and I don’t think Adam cries, but he gets very close bc of the relief and the love he feels. he definitely shakes a little bit, holds on a little too tight, but Lawrence doesn’t mind. he knows Adam needs this. so it’s okay.

Adam Definitely feels lighter after telling Lawrence, and he also stops hiding his t vial in the back of the cabinet. and he feels kind of goofy about how much better he feels, how he feels like there’s this huge weight off of his shoulders, but he decides it doesn’t matter bc Lawrence accepts him and only asks a couple awkward questions and he knows those questions don’t come from a place of malice, but from a genuine interest + wanting to gain understanding. + Lar does his own research too, a little bit, and it’s smth they talk abt sometimes. just... the fact tht Lawrence Wants to educate himself means a lot, bc he cld just... not? like his parents. but he wants to learn. wants to understand better. n that means everything to Adam.

(little side note I think is funny though: sometimes when Adam loses his packer he’s just like “Lar have u seen my dick??” and it’s. they both crack up over it oh my god. fucking dorks)

advice - another solid album! my favourite track is strings (i love the guitar/bass sound and how he sounds almost off beat, which reminds me of bambi ?), tho im not the biggest fan of if i could tell you tho bcs the talk/rap parts threw me off and ruined the vibe :/ overall, the album is not too flat but it’s also not his most memorable record (in my personal opinion). also im not very familiar with his discography but i think the album has a standard ‘taemin album’ sound which is one of the only critiques i would give. also idk why but advice reminds me of the soundtrack of a vampire cartoon (in the best way <3)

atlantis - ooh this album was an interesting listen! bcs some songs are rather bland and forgettable, while others are Great and really compliment their voices imo!! also this album is interesting to listen to once u remember the tt was dont call me, bcs that song (albeit being genuinely good imo, especially production wise wew) doesnt fit their style too well imo (it wouldve fit 127 better if u ask me) and for that it comes off as kinda awkward…….whereas the bsides fit them better. atlantis (the song) is good (tho is the rap part really necessary…..) but nothing to write home about :| overall, its a good album! not amazing (for kpop in general, but also for shinee ngl) but it is enjoyable. (also small side note but attention sounds like a 127 bside)

well i initially just saw the miss you mv and loved the song and also thought he was pretty good looking shfh then i listened to his other solo stuff and JLY really impressed me for the lyrics! so then i decided to *finally* give a chance to 1d and started listening to their albums, and i realised that all my favourite songs were written by him!!!! also, his voice instantly stood out to me, at first i couldn't distinguish who was singing if it was one of the others but louis's voice was really recognisable to me! and i fell in love with it! i remember listening to end of the day and love you goodbye and no control and being BLOWN AWAY by how good he sounds! and i love love love love how much emotion he puts in his voice, you can literally hear him smile sometimes! and other times that single second of wavering he puts in his voice gives SO much more depth and emotional impact to the song! and other times, like when he says darling in too young, his voice caresses the word!!!! how!!!!?? idk how he does it but i love it so much

Why did you become a Louie?

ohh honestly i don't even know where to begin!! i definitely think it was a number of things that i love about him plus an irrational feeling of connection that i feel towards him. i don't know how to describe it but i just connect with his music so much and he always makes me so HAPPY ! like genuinely so happy! i will be having the worst day ever but if i watch a video of him i can assure you that it will make me smile.

as for the things i love about him: i admire him so so so much, he's what i aspire to be, he was put through SO much in his life, so many hardships, tragedies, so much pressure and so much bullshit, it would have been so much easier (and i would have understood) if he had just turned bitter and cold, if he had stopped fighting and stopped caring, BUT he didn't! he kept fighting for what he believes in and what he cares about! he stayed true to himself despite EVERYONE around him telling him that it was the bad choice, he kept wearing his heart on his sleeve despite the fact that it has been ripped apart so many times! he kept caring about people despite being hurt! he stayed soft and warm and bright even if everything around him was harsh and dark! he kept doing what he loves (music) despite the fact that people tried everything to make it hard for him ! he's so amazing !

and he LOVES so much! he has so much love in his heart, he loves his family, his friends, his hometown, music, his fans, his person, and he loves so fiercely and so unapologetically! the way he writes about love blows me away because he's so open about how much love means to him! these are some of my favourites:

the beginning:

this was such a great way to open this album, it’s so cinematic and really sets the mood so perfectly. one of my fav instrumental intros i’ve ever heard.

good in goodbye: “you put the over in lover, put the ex in next.”

the lyrics are so wonderfully corny and i’ll love this song forever, like the chorus is literally just so fun to sing along to.

i do think it feels a little... shallow compared to the rest of the album, and the album being released so long after this song came out makes it feel disconnected from the rest. but i love it so i don’t care.

this song is just sooo...... OUCH!

i’m obsessed with the way the chorus just SOUNDS like an emotional spiral, like her life falling apart, like falling into a deep depression, and then the outro builds like destructive racing thoughts.

also i never noticed the wave crashing and the bubbles at the very beginning until really recently, and i love that little touch. the whole song feels so underwater. cloudy and fuzzy. it does a good job of depicting certain symptoms of various mental illnesses.

i actually was fully not expecting to like this that much based off the snippets she’d shared, but omg this left me WEAAAAK on first listen, which was the best surprise

there are definitely so many layers to these lyrics too, despite it being just a bombastic sexy toxic love song on its surface, particularly when thinking about the album as a commentary on mental illness, and some of the breakup/love songs as metaphors rather than straightforward love songs. definitely about infatuation and toxicity and perhaps knowingly entering a bad relationship as a bad coping mechanism, a way to avoid dealing with your pain or (as we see in effortlessly) a way to just feel anything at all.

i ALSO didn’t really expect to love this one based on snippets but the lyrics are just devastating and perfect and i hope speak to anybody who has struggled with self-harm and medication.

oh my god i was FLOOOOOORED at the dear society clip. dear society was and is one of my FAVOURITE songs, and i appreciate her reasoning for not including it on the album (just wanting some space for a new song instead of one we’d already had for so long), but it did hurt a lil. i was so happy she found a little way to include it :’) rip to hurts like hell tho since she didn’t get the same treatment sjdnksd.

the channel surfing is also just such a fun concept for an outro.

and her laughing with her producers at the end followed by such a sweet calming tropical instrumental...... oooo it’s so nice, it feels like the calm after the storm.

overall, this album was just SO worth the wait, it’s so fantastic, it’s the loml, one of my favourite albums ever. i LOVE that it’s helped anyone with BPD feel seen and understood, and as someone who doesn’t have bpd but has a couple of loved ones who do, the emotions she expressed in these lyrics have helped me to understand this disorder more too. just such a special album.

most of the criticism i’ve seen of the album has been that it’s overproduced, and that’s definitely criticism that i understand, bc it IS heavy on the technical side and some people just don’t like very heavy production, buuuut... some people do! i do! madison does! and heavy production does not automatically make an album bad. this type of production isn’t something that i expect her to move away from, because it’s clearly her thing, and maybe that just means her place in the industry will be more with the heavy heavy pop fans and maybe even in more hyperpop circles. i also think it’s SUPPOSED to be overproduced; it’s supposed to be a mess of emotions and sometimes a little chaotic. she executed it very well.

i hope by the time her next album is out, people will stop comparing her to like every single artist out there. some reviewers seem determined to pigeonhole her and compare her to every female artist under the sun, which feels like an absolute disservice to me. she is influenced by many different people and they comes out in her music, as it does any artist’s because everybody has their inspirations, but her sound is VERY much her own. as someone who has liked her for years, i can absolutely feel her essence in each song and nobody else’s.

a 10/10 album and such an amazing, promising debut<3
