Want to be spooked this Christmas while sitting around the fire? Watch the 'Haunted Hotel of Bedugul' to be creeped out... I visited it in August and made this video, but it comes with some astrology too.
Enjoy

So, reveal gone right. Maddie and Jack are nothing but supportive of Danny. Of course they feel guilty, for their bigotry, attacking their son, never even noticing the accident. It's Jasmine that proposes a family bonding activity, to spend time together and work through the years of issues that they can only now address.
The activity in question? Family Road Trip & Field Study! That's right; what better way for a family of scientists to bond than correcting literal decades of bad science? Which is how the Fenton family, alongside Sam and Tucker at Danny's request, wound up in Gotham, hoping to interview one of the strongest Genii Loccorum in America.
Of course, there's more than a few ectoplasmic encounters waiting for them in Gotham. Everything from an angry Revenant, to a baby liminal that Danny just knows is related to the guy who's been bathing in dirty ecto for like centuries, to a horde of restless spirits following some clown like a permanent thunderstorm.

Not long ago, my husband and I were lucky enough to meet a truly awe-inspiring tree—a centuries old Sitka Spruce that was likely once utilized by the indigenous population for funerary rites.
While the area surrounding the tree was (rightfully) fenced off to prevent disrespect or damage to the site, I was able to lay my hands on the exposed roots that crept beyond the enclosed perimeter, and that still felt very powerful and special.

im slightly obsessed with Jesse's backstage microphone. On some insta stories from the crowd it seems like he's constantly talking to it? Imagine the crew forced to listen to his snarky comments for the whole gig, no wait actually this must be pretty funny
But also when he's performing and he has to leave the mic behind, it's as if he lost a superpower. No more live commentary for the crew, he has to keep it all to himself. How does it feel to leave and how used he is to the microphone at all. Brain go brrr at this concept
I'm so gonna write a fanfic about it

Part of the fun with the Rivers of London book series is that you can try to imagine what kind of genius loci would inhabit your local body of water.
Like, I'm side-eyeing my local river and think they would be such an absolutely insufferable, obnoxious piece of s****

Reddening a moose bone ring to aid in facilitating congress with The Land. As far as I’m aware moose aren’t especially sacred to the tribes here nor could I find any stories where they played a significant role. Tho please do correct me if I’m wrong!
EDIT: there’s a rather funny folk story here regarding “Specter Moose”. Couldn’t help but think of it during the process haha.

Thinking about house/building spirits and where their shrines would be in a particular building. I've always operated on the idea that the heart of a house is at the hearth, which nowadays would be in the kitchen, more specifically, the oven or main cooking apparatus. Where would the heart be though in, say, an apartment building? My guess is the boiler/furnace room. But I don't know how much access the average joe would have to that kind of place, not to mention safety issues and maintenance being perturbed by strange things showing up near equipment.
Is there a spirit for each individual unit in an apartment building? Is there an "overspirit" in addition to these individual unit spirits? Does it vary building to building?

On our last night spent visiting the small lake town that my mother grew up in, we went out to watch for shooting stars that were in the forecast. While we did see several shooting stars, we were also amazed to see any unexpected Aurora Borealis. The first four pictures I share here were long-exposure photos, though the last one shows a terrible approximation of what we saw with the naked eye. Though it was far less vibrant and intense than it looks in the long-exposures, what was plainly visible was still pretty breathtaking. It felt like a beautiful sendoff from this ancestral land that I had finally gotten the chance to meet.
The next day, however, I had one even more surprising sendoff in store. Before heading to the airport to fly home, we decided to take one last row on the lake my mother grew up on as a child, using the rowboat of a family friend. As we made our way back to the dock, I was a little gobsmacked to spot a Hagstone floating in the water—literally strung on a reed like a bead on thread, and sitting atop the water's surface. As we went past it, I managed to reach out and slip the Hagstone off its reed, like a mystical prize. This is, without a doubt, one of the most significant hagstones I've ever been granted, and an almost painfully direct embrace from this Genius Loci.

A pipe organ is a living thing to me, but not like an ordinary living thing. It’s an entity, a being, not simply a creature. When you’re in a building that has a really big pipe organ in it, the pipe organ is inextricably part of the structure of the building, like it made a nest there or the building had to be built around it, for it. It’s in the walls, its presence affected how the rest of the room was built, because the gleaming pipes all need to be shown, they need to be able to speak and sing. All the little humans interacting with it want to make sure it can be heard in all its glory. And how to make it speak and sing? The keyboard, no, keyboards, and then all the stops above and around, all the foot pedals beneath. It will let itself be touched by humans, even intimately so, but it retains its otherworldliness, as if the touch it expected was from someone with more than ten fingers, more than two arms, and much more nimble feet. But still it will sing, and in singing I can feel it trying to tune me to the vibration of wherever it really came from, through music and beauty that is colossal, titanic, awesome, awe-full. I feel it hum in the air of my body and maybe it is dangerous to be enveloped by such harmonies for so long but let me have it just a little longer, a little more, a little further! And what does the organist think, playing as they do with such an entity? What arcane thrill, what intricate ritual, what thrill and what joy, for no matter the study and the skill, these individuals are not tame, never will be tame, no matter how incomprehensibly and ecstatically they yield to tiny mortal hands
