Cohiba (DO)

Trying the Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade 🇧🇷 Robusto. As you can see, it only has the Canadian Government's Plain Packaging Band. The Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade features a multi-national blend of tobaccos from four countries. In addition to the Brazilian-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper, the Inspirado Brazilian Shade features a San Andres binder and tobaccos from Brazil, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Production for the Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade is handled out of General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic. One of the Dominican tobaccos in the filler is a blend that General calls “Dominican Cubita.” Dominican Cubita is proprietary sun-grown tobacco cultivated on a one-acre plot in the bucolic region of Mao, Dominican Republic. This cigar is not currently available at 2000 Cigars, however if you would like us to have it in stock, let us know. #2000cigars #2000cigarsdelivery #macanudocigars #macanudoinspiradocigars #macanudoinspiradobrazilianshaderobusto #mycigarmoment #cigarlover https://www.instagram.com/p/Co5hRAlyIWH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

And the company behind Macanudo, STG, says 2010 is worthy of that label. That year had the optimal rainfall, high humidity, the perfect amount of sun hours to grow fantastic tobacco. So they come out with the Macanudo Vintage 2010. The…

Saturday afternoon and enjoying a much cooler day. Sippingnon this BevMo! exclusive Maker's Mark bottle with notes of creme brulee, baking spices, vanilla, and oak. I will say this, the thing i think Maker's really excells at is their more specialty bourbons. I've had so many that I just have lost count over the years. Not knocking their dayd to day lineup but bottles like FAE-01, Sugar Cookie, this, and a few others really stand out and showcase the juice they are producing. Paired with a most excellent Davidoff Dominicana Toro. .... On the morning of July 21st, 1861 the house of Wlmer McLean was struck with cannon shot as the 1st Battle of Bull Run, the first major engagement of the Federal and Rebel armies of the Civil War began. The day ended in a Federal loss and "The Great Skedaddle" as throngs of spectators and troops poured back to Washington, D.C. McLean continued to live in the house until the spring of 1863 when he decided to move south to maintain his business as a sugar broker to the Rebel armies and to avoid a repeat of the horrors of the battle he and his family experienced. He bought a two-story house in the dusty crossroads town of Appomattox Court House, Virginia. On April 9, 1865 the Civil War once again came to McLean and his family. That Palm Sunday morning saw General Ulysses Grant and his staff sitting in McLean's parlor accepting the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia from General Robert E. Lee ending the Civil War nearly four years to the day after it began on April 12, 1861. This interesting turn of fate lead to the phrase "The Civil War began in Wilmer McLean's front yard and ended in his front parlor". .... Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro - Blind Cigar Review
Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro - Blind #Cigar Review @macanudo #cigars #blindmanspuff #SmokeBlind

Macanudo - Vintage 1997
Macanudo – Vintage 1997

Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel
from He Spoke Style - Men's Style, Fashion, Grooming, Tips and Advice
A strong, potent and leathery smoke
When one sees the word “ligero” anywhere near a cigar, it is more than likely that the stick will be packed with bold flavors and a nicotine rush. Ligero tobacco leaves grow on the top of the plant and are blended into all-powerful smokes. Ironically, the word ligero in Spanish actually means “light” – this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel I review below is a powerhouse as it contains twice as much ligero leaf as the norm. To all of the novice cigar smokers reading this, as a good rule of thumb if you know you’re going to smoke something strong, eat a substantial meal beforehand. You’ll thank me later.
Part 1: General Information
La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel Country: Dominican Republic Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatra Binder: Dominican Republic Filler: Dominican Republic Vitola: Chisel (6.0 x 54) Price: $9.00
Part 2: Analysis
Prior to smoking this stick I enjoyed a pretty heavy meal as I knew this cigar was going to be on the stronger side due to the use of ligero leaf. Right off the bat, this sucker is spicy and aggressive. My mouth starts to tingle with every single draw, similar to having Pop Rocks in my mouth.
Flavors of wood and zingy pepper pervade the palate. Once the second third begins, the aggression tapers off but ramps up the black pepper. An almost cinnamon flavor comes into the finish similar to eating a piece of Big Red gum. Paired with this cinnamon is a strong leather flavor that is a hallmark of La Flor Dominicana sticks.
As I’m into the last third, the chisel end has finally become wide open and a charred meat flavor comes to the fore. As this happens the nicotine rush builds to a climax and the stick warms up tremendously. This is where I end my journey.
The construction on the stick is great though I will say that it is a bit tricky to cut as the guillotine cutter acts more like a pincher. Just note to have a very sharp cutter when smoking this bad boy. Another thing to note is what the chisel tip does to the smoke output. Though it may be a no-brainer, the volume of smoke in the final third was significantly greater than the first two due to the ring gauge expansion. Overall, quite an interesting cigar.
Boldness: 4.5/5 | Strength: 5/5
This cigar takes roughly 60-70 minutes to smoke. As for a drink pairing, pair this with something equal in body – a Laphroaig 10 Year perhaps. This cigar is for the advanced smoker as this is one of the most potent sticks I have ever smoked.
Part 3: Verdict
Overall, I would give this cigar a 8.25/10. This is not my most favorite cigar I’ve reviewed for HSS though I don’t dislike it either. The flavor profile and strength kick are just not for me. Taste is subjective, so you may like it, but buyer beware this cigar is not for the faint of heart.
Thanks for reading.
Stylishly Yours,
Christopher Benedetto He Spoke Style
