ILLEGIBLE’S TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE FAVORITE EORZEA COLLECTION DESIGNS | SEASON II: RANGED DPS

I compiled a list of designs in the past to share some favorite Final Fantasy XIV glamours from the Eorzea Collection website. With the Endwalker expansion released, there are quite a few new options available and people have developed even more incredible looks. So I decided it was worth doing a follow-up. I’ll probably do this every expansion or so. As before, this list comes with a disclaimer that it’s personal opinion and purely in the interest of going ‘LOOK HOW COOL THIS IS’ at people! –Overview–

If there’s one thing to know about Garen, it’s that he makes for a great meatshield. He’s a durable little chunk of a potato that has honed his skills in defense and stamina first and foremost. From countless suns and moons working as a guard and defending his friends from all sorts of ill-intent. He started out his career as a fledgling paladin who has grown in countless ways. Mastering the blade and mastering the skills to protect those who are weak.

Later, he would wake up to the latent magiks that lies dormant within. Garen has spent years working with his friend trying to tap into this energy and find a way to use this new-found magic in combat. Both of his friends are healers of different pedigrees, with him using his scholarly wits trying to combine their knowledge with his known use of magic. Therein did he slowly learn how to manipulate the aether within... and in turn, resulting to combining his love for both the blade and magiks into one.

Though this sort of combat style is still new and fresh for this spud, he is working to perfect his unique style. Calling himself a spell-blade, he has a blade in which he has personally engraved runes and incantations to further along his tests and abilities. Something akin to red mage you could say, but relying on arcane magic instead of black or white magics.

–Any lasting combat injuries?–

As with any constant fighter who consistently goes into battle, Garen has sustained a plethora of small nicks and scars over his body. Most having either healed over time, or were healed by his capable healer friends.

There are however two notable marks that have marred his skin. Once being a rather nasty ragged scar that curves over his right upper body and shoulder. Where someone managed to get a direct hit on him with an axe that bit deeply into his flesh and nearly amputated his whole right arm, had he not fended them off with everything he could and had two well-trained magical healers by his side to immediately work on the wound. It’s not perfect. And its rather ugly and hard to miss when he removes his upper garments. But its a reminder nonetheless that he survived the near fatal hit.

On his upper back is... not an injury per say! But engraved nonetheless is a tattoo made of pure light. From the moment he couldn’t contain the light of the first within, it had started to bleed out in that point-- and had been sealed there as a measure ever since. The mark still remains and can even glow in the dark, but Garen otherwise keeps it hidden.

Mercenary for Hire - Before he was known for anything else, Garen was simply that of a sellsword. He accepts almost any work given to him, granted it doesn’t sound particularly shady! So long as he’s making a spot of gil, he’s happy to lend someone a helping hand.

Your Go to Fisher - When not fighting, Garen is simply enjoying nature and using such peaceful periods of time for leisurely fishing. Or he might be looking to fish up his next meal, as he’s good at grilling or carefully putting together small seafood dishes. If you’re looking for fish, he’s certainly got it.

Just Business - Oh Warrior of Light... wherever he is needed, no matter what they cause, he will let the wind take him there. Should someone be in any sorts of trouble or need of immediate help, he’ll lend his blade free of charge. 

Wandering Traveler - Its easy to walk into Garen at just about any avenue. He loves traveling and visiting sights, always on the move, never stopping in place for long... You might come across his campsite, or mayhaps a small run in on the streets of who knows where.

Light to Darkness

Darkness crept into the atmosphere as the sun made its final farewells to the day coming to its end. The moon slowly and gracefully making its bold appearance with bright stars twinkling in its stead, carefully illuminating the earth and crystals beneath its light. A soft breeze rolled in from the clear lakes below and up the cliffsides that surrounded the body of water much like a fortress. Beyond that—the all too familiar Crystal Tower stood undisturbed in slumber. Shining brightly as it always did in the night, serving as a landmark to help those whom may find themselves lost in the darkness.

On one particularly lone cliff had a camp been set up for the night, quietly overlooking the lake below. Naught but a simple little placing where one could hear the crackle of a roaring fire, the smoke rising into the air with the scent of grilled fish wafting with it. An inviting warmth for those that may wish to take a closer inspection… where one man simply sat to himself as he put on a new set of freshly caught fish to roast.

Garen Velsh had not a care or worry in his mind. He’d slept out in the wilderness many times before with tonight being no less different. No fear that he might be robbed or threatened so out in the open—for he had already wrestled with far worse than what a few petty bandits might have to offer.

Tonight… was but another simple night in Eorzea. One where he thought he could rest in peace and enjoy the journey for what it was. After all, this is what was requested of him… right? To stay here. To take this opportune respite.

Absolutely love rping in a paragraph-form type! A fun pass-time when I’m not playing the game.

As I am a ps4 player with no keyboard, no in-game rp as that would take far too long.

Not very tumblr-friendly either, as I have no idea how to use tumblr correctly and find it odd.
