Hc that despite what Popular implies, Galinda is actually really, *really* bad at sports. Like comically bad.

She’s way too uncoordinated and clumsy to be successful in any athletic endeavors. The only reason she even passes athletics is because the other students (except Elphaba…most of the time) have a tendency to go easy on her (thanks to the power of Giant Brown Doe Eyes) by throwing matches in her favor or pitching balls that a five year old could hit so she doesn’t accidentally swing the racquet at her own head and give herself a concussion.

Before the beginning - SM

“Come on, Galinda. Dare you.”

Brycie was grinning at her, deliriously happy. Behind and all around them were a sea of drunk youths. Ozma men cheering. Crage Hall girls laughing. Amongst them was the Head Girl and her prefects. The Head Girl was a third year with nails as long as a witch’s, the body of super model, and dead straight auburn hair. Whenever she looked at Galinda she looked like she was one smile away from raking those nails through Galinda’s guts. But not right now. Right now, Brycie and her were above them, on a table, with shots in their hands. Galinda blinked, squinted, dazed. She was drunk, but not that drunk. It wasn’t alcohol rushing to her head.

It was the eyes on her. Attention. Approval, maybe, if she played it right. Power.

Galinda grinned back, her most dazzling grin, and curled an arm around Brycie’s waist. “You’re on.” They threw back their drinks, and pressed their lips together. She let herself get lost in it, and in the roar of the people around her. Brycie was too drunk to be a good kisser, but there was always something inherently exciting about kissing a girl for Galinda. Maybe it was just different.

Brycie pulled away laughing, covering her face with her hand. Galinda looked through the sea of people. She caught eyes with the host of the party Shenshen, a friendly second year; Pfannee, a nervous wreck straddling the line between nerd and popular girl; a blond jock type that she swore she recognized from somewhere; the Head Girl herself.She pursed her lips. Disapproval. Galinda had made herself look too desperate.

Galinda had lost her charm, and climbed down from the table to go to the kitchen. She wanted an ice cold glass of water. That sounded amazing right now.

As she was leaned against the kitchen counter, trying to figure out how their very modern sink tap worked, a voice came from behind her. “Shenshen has filtered water in her fridge you know.”

Galinda looked over her shoulder. The blond jock stood with his arms crossed, watching her with an amused smile. Up close, she realised he was an old Gillikin. A powerful one too, if his popularity said anything.

Power or not, she found his expression irritating. She held out the glass to him. “Fine. Get me a glass of water. With ice.”

“Alright.” He took the glass and opened the fridge. “Want a piece of lemon and mint with that?”

Galinda squinted at him. “Are you messing with me? Because yes. Absolutely.”

“Some dyke was making cocktails earlier, so no, I am not messing with you.” There was a chopping board with a couple of halved lemons and limes. He cut a slice of a lemon and cut the rind in one place, and slid it over the rim of the glass. He placed a mint leaf on top of the ice. He leaned back to inspect it. 

“That’s an instagram worthy glass of water,” Galinda said with some admiration.

“Thanks. You gonna take a picture?”

“No.” She gestured for him to pass it to her. She inspected his profile as he went about carefully transporting the glass from the kitchen island to her. The bridge of his nose was very straight, and did not recede. It looked like the noses in those old frescoes of Gillikin clan heroes. He caught her eye and smiled curiously.

She covered it with a smile, and took the glass. She chugged half of it, the mint leaf ending up on her cheek, and sighed with satisfaction. “Thanks.”

He laughed heartily. “No problem- … what’s your name? I swear I’ve seen you at those old Gillikin parties.”

“You have. I’m Galinda Arduenna. I’m a first year at Crage Hall - obviously.”

“Obviously.” He grinned, and his teeth were perfectly straight and white, and eyes were hazel and long lashed, and his face was the most perfectly sculpted Gillikin face Galinda had ever seen. He was a living statue. “I’m Avaric Tenmeadows.”

Brief Biography

I feel suuuper rude that this wasn’t my first post on this site? Like? Where are your manners, you weren’t raised in a barn? So lemme introduce myself!

Some things I’m being asked frequently and just some general little facts about me, I guess that this is the best place to put them., Since my profile is always being abused for updating-schedules and such things. Also, let’s be real, I’m incapable of ‘brief’ so get comfy guys.

First of all, I’m a girl. Woman. I think that with 25 - I’m 25, by the way, which probably makes me a grandma on the internet, doesn’t it? - I should probably start referring to myself as that. Meh. I’m a lady. There, so much better. Other titles I answer to include goddess, high priestess of Nicercy, queen or majesty. Really, I’m totally not picky.

I’m also a lesbian. Not sure why my sexuality matters, but I am being asked about it often. I’m also the kind of author who legitimately lays on her floor laughing whenever she gets anonymous flames about my stories “being sooo gay” and me being “sooo gay”. Like, lol, sure, those stories are literally two dudes kissing and fucking? Can’t get much gayer? And I’m a rainbow-wielding lesbian? Can’t get much gayer either? Was this stating of facts meant to insult me? I am confused?

I’m from Germany, as those of you who are more closely familiar with my stories probably already know becuase I like to slip some German into my stories when the opportunity comes up.

I’m a poor little college student on her way to become a “high school” teacher (air-quotes because German school DOES NOT RESSEMBLE HIGH SCHOOL. What the fuck is wrong with the American school system. When I was a kid in elementary school, I was fucking terrified about secondary education because of high school TV shows and movies with all the bullying and the separation into “cool” and “uncool” groups and the clubs and that cafeteria thing with the traumatizing food and jocks and cheerleaders! We also don’t have things like multiple choice tests and high school lasts 8 years here if you do it right, so there’s that too).

I’m neither a cat-person nor a dog-person. I’m a bunny-person. Seriously, show me pictures of your cat and dog, I will be bored and annoyed, but if you gimme a floppy-eared little ball of precious fluff with its wiggly nose and I will swoon and fawn over it for hours.

Literally everything I own is purple. From the paint on my walls to my curtains and chair and pillows and blankets and glasses and even my damn laptop. If it’s purple, chances are I’ll pick it up or buy it. I think that’s why I relate to Percy Jackson so well, because of his obsession with blue. I’m just a little more hardcore than him.
