Gale taking notes during the ceremorphosis lesson while everyone else is flinching. Lae'zel kicking Elminster out of camp and then pulling Gale up by his collar snarling for him to pull himself together and acknowledge his own power and strength, or so help her she'll throw him into the dirt.

Gale being smart enough to see the zaith'isk for what it is and talking Lae'zel through (or out of) the procedure. Lae'zel and Tara bonding over killing animals and bringing them to Gale to cook (Tara's not even going to be mad that Gale would prioritise a boar over a pigeon).

Gale apologising for being monogamous after all he's been through, and Lae'zel being 'no-one else can have what is mine, I will not share or be shared with anyone but you'. Battle buffs and fireballs.

Gale and Lae'zel huh? I do see them as amazingly good long lasting friends..even when Lae'zel is off fightingh her freedom war , I imagine her having long talks with Gale over some magic stone spell of sorts. (idea for sketch later?)

(vague plot spoilers through Act II)

Nearly a tenday later, Gale wakes in the chill clutches of the Shadow-Cursed Lands to find Lae’zel crouching at his bedroll.

He startles, clamping down on what would’ve surely been a heroic shriek.

Lae’zel entirely ignores his consternation. “You stood for me.”

Gale spent most of the day so drained by shadows he could barely stand at all. He attempts to shake off the haze of panic and the blear of sleep.

“Hm?” he prompts, eloquently.

“At the crèche,” Lae’zel specifies, impatient. “You saw the perils of the zaith’isk, suspected the duplicity of both the Sa’varsh and the Ch’r’ai. Yet at the portal in the Astral, when that���entity—would speak to only one of us, you stood for me.”

The words begin to align and create meaning in Gale’s mind. “Oh. I—yes, I suppose I did.”

Lae’zel clicks, low in her throat. “Why?”

That finally brings Gale to full wakefulness—because he’s not sure. Shadowheart bears the prism; and all of them have a stake in their mysterious dream visitor, surely. But it had been instinct; felt right the way so many of his decisions do.

He disregards the gith leaning over him to squint up into the dark, where stars might shine if the void of this place didn’t swallow their light.

“A goddess’ charge is no small thing,” he says, finally. Looks back to Lae’zel, who’s eyeing him warily. “You were to bear the consequences, whether we obeyed or denied Vlaakith. It was only right you see for yourself. Choose for yourself.”

He’s expecting the stern, narrow stare he gets in return. It’s frequently her response to his most earnest thoughts.

What he doesn’t expect is that she bends down, sudden and quick in a way that puts him in mind of a striking viper, only to stop with her face heart-quakingly close to his own.

“I will not be lured into your philosophy of choice,” she snaps, as abruptly as she’d moved. “The wrongs of the gods are only greater for their meritless divinity.”

She raises a hand, and for a wild moment Gale imagines she’s going to strike him—but she only settles it above his chest, sharp nails tenting over his scarred heart.

“Mystra doesn’t deserve your sacrifice,” she announces. Pointedly, as though they’d been arguing.

Then she gets up to leave as suddenly as she’d appeared, and Gale is left to wonder if somehow they had been.

I’m obsessed with Lae’zel x Gale and I recently found out you can give the githyanki egg to Lae’zel and she raises it as her own so

The hatchling, that Lae’zel names Xan, grows up with a very supportive family. His mom and dad raise him to make his own decisions and be his own man. Inspired by his mother’s battle prowess and his father’s magical aptitude, Xan becomes an Eldritch Knight with a few dips into Evocation Wizard, and he becomes a famous adventurer in his own right.

Though of course, he’s not as famous as “Xan”, the mysterious adventurer who helped his parents (and aunts and uncles) defeat the Absolute years ago, and the man for whom Xan is named. But Xan has never known him, for he disappeared shortly after the Absolute threat was defeated. All he knows is that he was a githyanki, and skilled with magic and blade in equal measure. And Gale has mentioned that “Xan the Elder” resembles him; if he hadn’t seen Lae’zel take his egg with his own eyes, he’d almost have suspected he was Xan-the-Younger’s true father.

All of this occurs to Xan-the-Younger in startling clarity when he is on an adventure and suddenly thrust back in time. He wakes up on a mind flayer ship, just like the one Uncle Wyll always described in his retellings of their old group’s adventures.

And then… he meets his mother. Several years younger and pointing a blade in his face.

Xan-the-Younger realizes he was Xan-the-Elder all along. Now he must save Faerun from the Absolute — an ordeal that, even with foreknowledge, is a difficult task (his family didn’t share EVERY detail, and even so, his memory isn't perfect and he’s forgotten a few things).

He also needs to make sure his mother grabs his egg from the crèche, while also ensuring that she turns against Vlaakith and frees Orpheus, AND that his father doesn’t blow himself up or try to ascend to godhood.

And it would be nice if he could also ensure they end up together. It’s frankly quite uncomfortable that they’ve both flirted with him.

Wyllstarion aka Bloodpact (someone wrote an entire essay about it somewhere basically but also, like, Wyll prefers to take it slow, Astarion never got courted before this is cute okay, sprinkle in the knowledge that both repeatedly express attraction for the other in party banter, sprinkle in the Monster / Monster Hunter dynamic, okay ...)

Wyllach (speedrunning enemies to lovers like the champions they are and also they're both absolute sweethearts who deserve all the happiness and their bond makes me squeel stupidly)

Sorry Bloodweave shippers I just don't get anything out of this ship. ALSO i absolutely adore Isobel/Aylin but I don't consider that a ship bc its canon and a canon romantic relationship isn't a ship in the strictest sense bc ships are fanon/headcanon stuff I think? BUT ANYWAY honorary important mention of Isobel and Aylin.
