fixed the hakama LMAO but also if demon kyo had a theme song it would be tatarigami from princess mononoke ☆

demon kyojuro!
in this au he survives mugen train and goes thru a lil corruption arc that starts with senjuro getting killed by humans (sorry senjuro!) and ends with kyojuro becoming disillusioned with the corps and possibly killing senjuro’s murderers. he still doesnt get turned willingly (also not by akaza) and in fact forgets everything except how much he hates akaza (as a human had come to resent him) and having a weird obsession with killing ‘strong’ people/demons (his need to protect the weak → need to stop the strong). i promise it still ends up being renkaza somehow ahgdfgvnfhd
design notes and extended
the first scene that the first image is based on reminded me of kabuki with how theatrical the pose seemed… and it turns out that kyojuro likes watching noh and kabuki (based on fanbook one)! so the makeup is very much based on sugiguma design, which is supposed to represent a hero with great strength but also anger. it is also consciously meant to reflect akazas markings, which also seem to resemble the villainous kugeare kabuki design…?
it being only a ‘mask’ reflects the idea of his playing a role (doing what you ‘should’ do, putting on a brave face) and the whole theatricality aspect… but that his face is ‘painted’ that way beneath an actual mask kind of shows who he Really is?
beneath the hannya mask, representing a demon consumed by anger and revenge, he’s still a ‘hero’ at heart
colors are intended to oppose the demon slayer uniform
fading to black → ash, burnt, but also literally ‘dirtying your hands’
the horns are just there to look cool LMAO but I guess also reflects the very real belief he might hold/have held before being turned that he had done something unforgivably wrong
as you can tell from the drawings he Does eventually start to remember things and stops akaza from offing himself because how in the world is that fair when he has to live with himself?? but he also probably has it in his head that once he helps defeat muzan as a demon hes gonna walk himself into the sun as penance and not take the cure. maybe we have a fun lil role reversal and akaza is the one to convince him to live as a human. i have not thought this far tbh

To write, read and explain sanātana dharmā is my greatest happiness, though I haven’t shared much here on Tumblr.
However, Vishnu and Shivā work in mysterious ways, and thus, I am finally here on the Sanatana side of things, to interpret as I am blessed by the very Divinity I worship with and as my own heart.
Salutation to Gajanana, the remover of obstacles, the support of His devotees, and the One praised for His Knowledge and Wisdom.
Salutation unto HariHara, the primordial form of the Divine Hari and Hara, of Their Oneness and equality, who is the sole inspiration of my life and my Universe multiplied infinite times.
Salutation to HariHara Patni, SriUma, as I see Her, whose very presence in His heart tells me of stories that play the very ancient games of Leela.
Salutations to Vaani, the Goddess who is my inspiration, who blesses me with words and purpose, who is as dear to me as ever.
Salutations to Brahma, the Creator, the foremost father of all the Devtas and indeed all the worlds, the friend of HariHara and the husband of Medha.
Salutations to Skanda, the God of war, but much more, the Tamizh Kadavul, the Compassion of the world, who ever protects His devotees.
Salutations to Hanuman, for whom there are no words, but who is the dearest to the heart.
Salutations to the Devas and Devis of Svarga and every Loka, for are you not the supporters too of the Universe, and representatives of the Trideva and Tridevi?

GANESHA CHATURTHI ( GANESHA FESTIVAL )
The great Ganesha festival, also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayaka Chavithi' is celebrated by Hindus around the world as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. As we all know, Ganesh is known as vighnakartaa (obstacle-creator) for rakshasas (demonic beings), and a vighnahartaa (obstacle-averter) for devtas. Hence this popular festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi.
It is observed during the Hindu month of Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September) and the grandest and most elaborate of them, especially in the western India state of Maharashtra, lasts for 10 days, ending on the day of 'Ananta Chaturdashi'.
Lord Ganesha is worshipped at the beginning of every new start. He is also known as a god of knowledge. His pictures can be found in every family, as a protector deity.
As per Hindu mythology Lord Ganesha is the God of knowledge and wisdom. There are many incidents to talk about Ganesha’s birth; one of them is when Devi Parvati designed him from the scruff of her whole body to secure her entrance and when Ganesha rejected to Lord Shiva to enter the sanctum sanctorum of Devi Parvati.
Lord Shiva got angry and swiped the head of Ganesha. Devi Parvathy couldn’t digest this massacre, seeing Devi Parvati in distress Lord Shiva promised her to make Ganesha alive and later the head of Ganesha was replaced by the head of Elephant.
He is known by many names like Sidhi Vinayaka, Ekdanta, Dhoomraketu, Gajanana, Vakratunda, Sankat Mochan, and many more. Lord Ganesha vanishes off all devils and deals with complicated issues very calmly.
A life-like clay model of Lord Ganesha is made 2-3 months prior to the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The size of this idol may vary from 3/4th of an inch to over 25 feet.
On the day of the festival, it is placed on raised platforms in homes or in elaborately decorated outdoor tents for people to view and pay their homage. The priest, usually clad in red silk dhoti and shawl, then invokes life into the idol amidst the chanting of mantras.
For 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, Ganesha is worshipped. On the 11th day, the image is taken through the streets in a procession accompanied with dancing, singing, to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of all people.
All join in this final procession shouting "Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya" (O father Ganesha, come again early next year). After the final offering of coconuts, flowers and camphor is made, people carry the idol to the river for immersion.
