To write, read and explain sanātana dharmā is my greatest happiness, though I haven’t shared much here on Tumblr.
However, Vishnu and Shivā work in mysterious ways, and thus, I am finally here on the Sanatana side of things, to interpret as I am blessed by the very Divinity I worship with and as my own heart.
Salutation to Gajanana, the remover of obstacles, the support of His devotees, and the One praised for His Knowledge and Wisdom.
Salutation unto HariHara, the primordial form of the Divine Hari and Hara, of Their Oneness and equality, who is the sole inspiration of my life and my Universe multiplied infinite times.
Salutation to HariHara Patni, SriUma, as I see Her, whose very presence in His heart tells me of stories that play the very ancient games of Leela.
Salutations to Vaani, the Goddess who is my inspiration, who blesses me with words and purpose, who is as dear to me as ever.
Salutations to Brahma, the Creator, the foremost father of all the Devtas and indeed all the worlds, the friend of HariHara and the husband of Medha.
Salutations to Skanda, the God of war, but much more, the Tamizh Kadavul, the Compassion of the world, who ever protects His devotees.
Salutations to Hanuman, for whom there are no words, but who is the dearest to the heart.
Salutations to the Devas and Devis of Svarga and every Loka, for are you not the supporters too of the Universe, and representatives of the Trideva and Tridevi?

Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chavithi, is an auspicious Hindu festival which is celebrated for 10 days every year. The festival is celebrated in the Bhadra month as per the Hindu calendar which generally falls in mid-August to September. It marks the birthday of the beloved elephant-headed Lord #Ganesha.
Tumblr media
Lord Ganesh is known by 108 different names like Gajanana, Vinayaka, Vighnaharta among others. This festival is celebrated with great devotion and joy by Hindus throughout the world. In India, it is majorly celebrated in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.
Ganesh Utsav is celebrated from Chaturthi to Chaturdashi of Bhadrapada month. Even in ancient times, Ganesh Utsav was organized, we get evidence of this from the period of Satvahana, Rashtrakuta and Chalukya dynasties. Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had made a new beginning by linking Ganesh Utsav with national religion and culture.

GANESHA CHATURTHI ( GANESHA FESTIVAL )
The great Ganesha festival, also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayaka Chavithi' is celebrated by Hindus around the world as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. As we all know, Ganesh is known as vighnakartaa (obstacle-creator) for rakshasas (demonic beings), and a vighnahartaa (obstacle-averter) for devtas. Hence this popular festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi.
It is observed during the Hindu month of Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September) and the grandest and most elaborate of them, especially in the western India state of Maharashtra, lasts for 10 days, ending on the day of 'Ananta Chaturdashi'.
Lord Ganesha is worshipped at the beginning of every new start. He is also known as a god of knowledge. His pictures can be found in every family, as a protector deity.
As per Hindu mythology Lord Ganesha is the God of knowledge and wisdom. There are many incidents to talk about Ganesha’s birth; one of them is when Devi Parvati designed him from the scruff of her whole body to secure her entrance and when Ganesha rejected to Lord Shiva to enter the sanctum sanctorum of Devi Parvati.
Lord Shiva got angry and swiped the head of Ganesha. Devi Parvathy couldn’t digest this massacre, seeing Devi Parvati in distress Lord Shiva promised her to make Ganesha alive and later the head of Ganesha was replaced by the head of Elephant.
He is known by many names like Sidhi Vinayaka, Ekdanta, Dhoomraketu, Gajanana, Vakratunda, Sankat Mochan, and many more. Lord Ganesha vanishes off all devils and deals with complicated issues very calmly.
A life-like clay model of Lord Ganesha is made 2-3 months prior to the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The size of this idol may vary from 3/4th of an inch to over 25 feet.
On the day of the festival, it is placed on raised platforms in homes or in elaborately decorated outdoor tents for people to view and pay their homage. The priest, usually clad in red silk dhoti and shawl, then invokes life into the idol amidst the chanting of mantras.
For 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, Ganesha is worshipped. On the 11th day, the image is taken through the streets in a procession accompanied with dancing, singing, to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of all people.
All join in this final procession shouting "Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya" (O father Ganesha, come again early next year). After the final offering of coconuts, flowers and camphor is made, people carry the idol to the river for immersion.

Honoring the Eight Avatars of Lord Ganesha on Ganesh Chaturthi !
On this sacred occasion of #GaneshChaturthi, we celebrate Lord Ganesha in his eight divine forms, as described in the Ganesha Purana. Each avatar represents the triumph of good over evil and the wisdom to guide us through life's challenges.
Vakratunda: The first avatar, with a twisted trunk, holding a corn-sheaf, sugar cane, and club, symbolizing the removal of obstacles.
Ekdanta: The one-tusked Lord, who defeated the demon Madasura, showing us the power of sacrifice and focus.
Mahodara: The great-bellied Ganesha, who forgave the demon Mohasura, embodying compassion and forgiveness.
Gajanana: The elephant-faced Lord, who vanquished Lobhasura, the demon of greed, teaching us wisdom and selflessness.
Lambodara: The big-bellied Lord, who conquered Krodhasura, the demon of rage, signifying mastery over anger.
Vikata: The fierce form of Ganesha, who defeated Kamasura, guiding us to overcome desires and attachments.
Vighnaraja: The remover of obstacles, clearing the path for righteousness and truth. Dhumravana: The smoke-colored avatar, signifying transformation and spiritual purification.
May Lord Ganesha bless us all with peace, prosperity, and wisdom. 🙏
