GVK Group & Infrastructure Limited (GVKPIL) is a publicly traded company under the GVK Group. It owns, operates, and maintains power plants, both directly and through its subsidiaries and associates. GVK is one of India's largest infrastructure developers, with extensive experience in various sectors including hospitality, manufacturing, power, roads, airports, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and urban infrastructure.

The company was originally incorporated on December 2, 1994, as a private company with unlimited liability under the name Jegurupadu Operating & Maintenance Company. GVK has invested over Rs. 5,000 crore in its various businesses and has projects worth over Rs. 12,000 crore in the pipeline.

GVK Group is developing power projects based on coal, gas, and hydropower resources in several states across India, including Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. On April 20, 2005, the company changed its name to Jegurupadu Operating & Maintenance Company Private Limited after converting to a company with limited liability. It later became a public limited company on May 19, 2005, and was renamed Jegurupadu Operating & Maintenance Company Limited.

 LATEST NEWS : Confirmed! Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial film, which has now been renamed to 'Padmavat', will finally hit the big screens on January 25.

 The movie, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is all set to clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer 'PadMan'.

 Film critic Taran Adarsh made the announcement on the social media as he tweeted, "#Padmavat to release on 25 Jan 2018... #RepublicDayWeekend".

 The flick, based on the legend of Rani Padmini, a Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat, an Avadhi poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540, has been facing protests from various groups, including Shri Rajput Karni Sena, for allegedly tampering with historical facts.

 The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested few modifications in the controversial movie 'Padmavati', which included changing of the film's title to 'Padmavat'.
