SHRI G. S. PATIL -MLA., Ron

Shri G S Patil, serving MLA Ron constituency of Gadag district (Karnataka). People describe him as a visionary, humble, empathetic human being and great leader. A three time elected MLA and a loyal member of the Congress Party, success has never changed him and he worked even closely with the people of the constituency. He has inherited the rich culture, values and helping nature of his family and serving the public. His association with all segments of society and concern towards the needy is widely appreciated. He him self says, “I am blessed by swamijis, parents, friends, well-wishers, people and family members to walk in the field of public services”. His humble nature has won the hearts of the people.

AS A CHAIRMAN MUNICIPALITY AND APMC -1983-1988:

He has started his political career in 1983, for the first time elected to town municipality and APMC. His dedication and public service won accolades across the society and eventually he has been elected to Karnataka Legislative Assembly in the year 1989. He has worked hard to develop the constituency and to up-lift lives of poor and needy. His dedication and hard work got him even bigger responsibilities from the party.

CONTRIBUTIONS AS SECRETARY KPCC:

Served as secretary KPCC in the year 1995 and in-charge of Bagalkot district. His reputation, strategies and hard work has paid off and got seven Karnataka assembly seats for the party out of eight seats in Bagalkot parliamentary constituency. In the year 1999 as predicted, he has won the assembly election again from Ron constituency with a huge margin of 29000 votes.

CHAIRMAN KARNATAKA STATE WAREHOUSING COMMITTEE:

Served as chairman for two years tenure.

Succeeded in bringing up infrastructure/storage houses for about 200000 metric tons.

Established cold storage facilities in Haveri and Byadagi districts.

DEVELOPMENT OF LAKES

The world is facing drought year-on-year, in India it is a scenario of every year because of urbanization and lack of plan. Lakes are part of our society, humans as well as animals are dependent on lakes. Lakes are must to retain the ground water, must for bore-wells to operate and must to maintain our eco system. Shri G S Patil a visionary, he has taken the noble step to develop the lakes of the rural area. He has built and developed more than 1000 lakes in the constituency and people call him “Saavira Keregala Saradaara”. This is not only a development in the constituency; it is a global and universal initiative every one needs follow. Country like India dependent on agriculture and lakes, ponds, greenery are part of our eco system. His vision and concern towards our rural area and farmers is well appreciated and that is why he is closer to the people.

RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Distributed 5000 solar lamps to the rural students and helped to enlighten their lives.

Helped hundreds of needy children to continue their education.

Introduction of E-schooling for about 50 schools in the rural area.

Started D.P.E.P center under “Sarva Shikhana Abhiyana”.

Spent MLA funds to construct school buildings and other infrastructure development work.

Helped to construct SC and ST hostels in Naregal, Sudi, Abbigeri, Hirehal, Holealur, and Mishigeri.

With help of the government funds, established PU and Degree colleges.

Taken care of the inclusive development activities by developing roads, infrastructure, electricity, Education Institutes, etc.

TRUSTEE SHIVAYOGAMANDIRA SAMSTHE:

Shivayoga mandira is a 100 years old religious centre , spiritual university established by His Holiness Pujya Shri Hanagal Kumar Swamiji. The institute is a holy place for all Veerashaiva-Lingayata people. The institute nurtures the future spiritual leaders under the Veerashaiva-Lingayata philosophy. Here the children are admitted at a very young age and are called Vatu.

The vatus practice Sanyasa, Yoga, Veda, Aagama and Upanishads. Shri G S Patil is the serving trustee of the noble institute. Recently the institute celebrated Centenary and Shri G S Patil was at the forefront in leading the massive event, he was able to successfully convince and invite Hon’ble Member of Parliament and the chairman of UPA Smt. Sonia Gandhiji to receive guest of honor.

Shri G S Patil is a true leader and dreaming for the rural development through several initiatives and services and education is one among the services he is closely involved. The then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s vision on science and technology inspired to start Rajiv Gandhi education society in 1992 to impart quality education and health services to the rural and poor folks and serving as president of the society. The society has been serving the rural people through quality education.

SECRETARY PUTTARAJA GAVAI BLIND EDUCATION SOCIETY, GADAG

He has been associated with the blind institute of legendary musician and saint Puttaraja Gavai blind institute and served in many ways. As a secretary Puttaraja gavai blind education society, Gadag; with the blessings of Sri Ganayogi Shivayogi Puttaraja Gavaiji started a music college in Veereshwara Punyashrama Gadag and it is a first college of its kind in Karnataka. The college is serving to the society by teaching music to the blind and orphan children. Annually more than 300 students are blessed by the quality education with food and shelter. Gradually the institution under the able guidance of Shri G S Patil flourished and started many other institution like; Primary School, High School, Sanskrit Pathashala, B.Ed, D.Ed, P.U and degree college.

VICE-PRESIDENT, ANNADANA VIJAYA VIDYA PRASARAKA SAMITI, NAREGAL.

His Holiness Halakere Annadana Mahaswamiji established the institute. He served as Chairman, General Secretary. He strive to develop different colleges like P.U, Degree, ITI College, and Primary, High Schools, Deaf and Dumb school.
