De Cazadero Real a Parque Nacional… (1)

Los orígenes de Doñana como región se remontan miles de años en la historia. Unos 10 siglos antes de Cristo algunos textos antiguos colocaban a la mítica Tartessos en esta zona. Civilizaciones como los Etruscos, los Fenicios y los Griegos dejaron sus huellas en el Parque Nacional. Todavía hoy es posible encontrar algunos restos romanos escondidos en la arena. En tiempos de los Romanos había un gran lago llamado Lacus Ligustinus rodeado por el Río Guadalquivir y sus afluentes y por una barra arenosa al sur. Después de un paréntesis histórico, el Rey Alfonso X El Sabio, regala parte de las Marismas del Guadalquivir a la ciudad de Sevilla en 1255.

1262 Alfonso X El Sabio, reconquista el reino mudéjar de Niebla a Aben-Mehafut y poco después establece el Cazadero Real en los entonces llamados Bosques de Las Rocinas. Manda construir dos ermitas, una junto a la Laguna de Santa Olalla, y otra más al norte junto a las marismas. 1294 Su hijo, Sancho IV El Bravo, dona al Duque de Medina Sidonia (Alonso Pérez de Guzmán) el Señorío de Sanlúcar de Barrameda y todas las tierras comprendidas entre Arenas Gordas y la desembocadura del Guadalquivir por su heroica defensa de la plaza de Tarifa frente a los moros. 1493 Los Reyes Católicos le dan a su Secretario de Economía, Esteban Pérez, algunas tierras junto a la Madre de las Marismas, donde hoy día está localizada la aldea de El Rocío. Unos años más tarde el Concejo de Almonte compra estas tierras al hijo del Secretario. 1495 El Tercer Duque de Medina Sidonia decide poner en productividad estos bosques e introduce el ciervo como pieza de caza. También organiza algunas batidas para deshacerse del lobo en la zona y así favorecer la cría de ganado en las marismas. 1585 Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, el VII Duque de Medina Sidonia y comandante en jefe de la Armada Española, compra la tierra de sus antepasados al pueblo de Almonte hasta la Madre de las Marismas. El duque estaba casado con Doña Ana De Silva y Mendoza, hija de la Princesa de Éboli. Doña Ana, avergonzada de la vida libertina de su madre en la corte, se muda a la reserva de caza del Duque donde él le construye una gran casa. Algunos dicen que fue entonces cuando la zona empezó a llamarse el Coto de Doña Ana, más tarde Doñana. Sin embargo, diversos autores vinculan el nombre a Ana de Mallarte, esposa de Sancho de Herrera, Alcaide de Sanlúcar de Barrameda a quién el Duque de Sevilla, Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, arrendó, en nombre de su esposa, las Dehesas del Carrizal y la Ahulaga en 1523 (casi 50 años antes de que apareciera por la zona doña Ana de Silva). Allí introdujo doña Ana de Mallarte su ganado haciendo un “hato” que pasó a llamarse “el hato de Doñ Ana”. Con toda probabilidad, sería este topónimo el que diese lugar con el paso de los años a la denominación de Casas de Doña Ana, Palacio de Doña Ana, Coto de Doña Ana, y posteriormente a la de Coto de Doñana. Organismo Autónomo Parques Nacionales) 1599 El nombre de Doñana es encontrado por primera vez en un documento escrito. 1624 El Rey Felipe IV visita el Coto de cacería. Este es punto de inflexión en la historia de Doñana. La vieja Casa del Bosque es profundamente reformada hasta el presente Palacio de Doñana. 1737 Después del éxito del Pinar de la Algaida, el Duque de Medina Sidonia introduce el pinar en Doñana con el objeto de favorecer la explotación forestal del bosque. 1797 Goya pinta en Doñana un retrato de la Duquesa de Alba, casada en ese tiempo con el dueño del Coto, José María Álvarez de Toledo. Se dice que también pintó aquí los famosos cuadros de Las Majas y que la Duquesa posó de nuevo para él en este caso. 1829 Algunos dromedarios son traídos a la zona para trabajar como bestias de carga en la construcción de una carretera. 1854 Primera mención en un documento escrito de la Avifauna de Doñana: “Catálogo de las aves observadas en algunas provincias andaluzas” escrito por Antonio Machado y Núñez.

CLASE 6 OCTUBRE

CLASE 6 OCTUBRE / PROYECTOS 1

La clase anterior de la asignatura de proyectos pudimos hacer referencia al Parque Nacional de Doñana, y poder debatir a través de nuestros proyectos las grandes cualidades que presenta el parque, las cuáles fueron muy bien destacadas por nuestros profesores, como también ciertos inconvenientes producidos por el ser humano.

Cabe destacar que el Parque Nacional de Doñana es un mosaico de ecosistemas que albergan una biodiversidad única en Europa. Destaca sobre todo la marisma, de extraordinaria importancia como lugar de paso, cría e invernada para miles de aves europeas y africanas.

Como bien podemos destacar la diversidad de fauna y vegetación que presenta el parque también hicimos referencia a uno de los problemas más graves a los que está sometido el planeta Tierra, haciendo referencia a la contaminación que sufre también el parque de Doñana. En los diferentes trabajos presentados por los diferentes grupos de la clase concluimos que la contaminación de sus aguas ha aumentado en los últimos años a consecuencia de la actividad humana local, fundamentalmente la agricultura intensiva y el “pobre” tratamiento de los vertidos industriales, lo cual recae directamente de forma negativa sobre la gran biodiversidad que presenta Doñana.
