The thing with Flairmidable’s costume is — this isn’t Felix’s style, at all. And that’s what makes it so brilliant.

The entire point of this design is to be a credible copy of what Adrien would wear as the Dog holder, and as such, it is much closer to Chat’s suit than it is to Argos’.

Allow me to demonstrate:

The biggest difference between the two costumes is the absence of over-the-knee boots on Chat’s side — but you know who does wear them?

That’s right! Adrien’s miserablesona! The one who conforms to expectations and fake perceptions of his identity.

In other words, Felix (and the character designers, of course, let’s hear a round of applause for them) came up with a costume that is a perfect combination of:

What Adrien would actually wear as the Dog holder;

What Felix thinks his cousin would wear as the Dog holder.

And he slays. And he knows it.

Speaking of your question about Plagg and Tikki, I feel like the kwamis aren't really... necessary? I mean, they work as sidekicks at times, but most of the time I feel like their role as actual gods is really null, they don't really advance the plot unless it's kwami related episode and their point as mentors suck.

It's why I prefer their PV selves, at least we can see how much they actually help. Plus, the whole reason they even enter the jewel makes me think "are all people who use Nooroo and Duusuu villains or something?"

So, I'd much rather prefer if they were this holographic animals (since I never understand why each one is considered that) over tech suits. Especially since they can't even offer advice when transformed.

(That's my opinion though, can be wrong)

Oh they really aren't. For the show, kwamis are an after thought. They're really just there to be the "anime mascot" and sell toys. They aren't included to be actual characters and powerful beings that have been around longer than humanity. Biggest show of this is that, we hardly have anything on the kwami-holder relationship outside the lead duo, and they just quickly default to "I like/love this human", and when there's multiple kwamis together, they default to a hive mentality and act like little kids.

You cut them out, you don't miss much. At most, you'll miss out on kwamis adding chaos and stress to Marinette's life, and you'd miss out on Plagg being with Adrien, which Plagg makes the most fun in the Adrien focused scenes. Take Plagg out, and Adrien just sits in his room. Though, that could be a plus cause if they want Adrien to be engaging, he'd have to DO something since there's no kwami to work off of.

Tikki and Plagg, who have the most attention for kwamis, aren't true characters either as their views and personality and actions will all come down to the whims of the writers and what they need kwamis to do for this specific episode. Like, take Tikki and her involvement in romance; some eps she will push the LS agenda or get invested in the romance, some eps she doesn't get it, or say she can't be involved as "kwamis don't feel romantic love". You got Plagg in some eps resisting the transformation cause he doesn't want to power the ring and just wants to laze around, but in another ep he'll be trying to get Adrien into action and be a hero.

So with all that, kwamis don't warrant existing in the show as they don't bring anything in or progress anything; and the bit of focus they get is often clashing with anything prior. Like, take Barkk who has 2 different personalities; you got a dutiful Barkk who is serious and diligent in Furious Fu, but then you get high on puppy energy Barkk in Strikeback. So, what's the true Barkk? Is Barkk a diligent and dutiful kwami? Is Barkk playful, warm, and energetic? Is Barkk a mixture of the two, knowing there's a time to play and a time to work?

They just don't care or prioritize the kwamis enough to establish character (though this does extend to a lot of ML characters who will have clashing actions and personalities).

I do find it to be a shame, cause I think the kwamis could've been the most fascinating aspect of ML. Cause these are beings who've been there as humanity grew and developed, and they did live through much of history and clearly have traveled all over the world and got to be involved in a variety of cultures. They should all be incredibly wise and have unique experiences to share. And given the animal motif, there could've been fun basing their personalities around animal stereotypes, and working off their symbolism and mythology.

Like, instead of no thoughts head empty, eager to be a servant Pollen, she should have been as sweet as honey, open minded, have strong values in diligence, duty, teamwork, communication, and nurturing others and all life. And if you actually successfully piss her off, she's going to be one of the scariest kwamis to face. Cause hey, bees will sting back, and in Hindu mythology, through the goddess Bhrami, bees and wasps are associated terminated evil/chaos; also actual bees will terminate a bad queen bee. So Chloe getting the Bee should have gone very differently. Could've also worked off Pollen being the only kwami to have a gender preference to what humans can use her power.

There's also a lot of potential in kwami relationships, as in mythology and fairy tales, many animals have complex relationships; some would be close friends, and some would be rivals if not enemies. Plagg and Mullo should be tense with each other and have a rivalry; Plagg and Barkk could frenemies, as well as Longg and Roaar. Plagg and Roaar could be tight as a loose nod to pair of Guardian Lions, Barkk and Orikko should be rivals with Trixx with the latter enjoying messing with Barkk and Orikko. Sass and Wayzz should be best friends, ect..

Another thing that could've been interesting, especially post Guardian Marinette, is that the kwamis all should have different views and opinions on what to do. And the chaos Marinette should have experienced is more too many cooks in the kitchen than dealing with floating toddlers. Like, take Marinette struggling whether to stay connected with her friends or cut ties to fully focus on being a hero, Barkk, Pollen, and Kaalki think she should continue to be friends with them, let them in. Ziggy, Sass, and Stompp though think she should cut ties to focus on her duty, embrace the independence. Trixx and Tikki think Marinette should try to do both, cause you need your friends, but you should also prioritize your duty. And Marinette is torn on who to listen to cause there's no easy answer.

So, should kwamis have not be included? Given the writers, yes. They don't care enough to really focus on the kwamis, and clearly can't handle all 19 kwamis that exist. But I do think they're a big missed opportunity cause they easily could've been the best part of the show given that many animals have a lot of myths, stories, and lore tied to them that could've been incorporated into the show and really make each kwami unique and fascinating.

Gabriel LITERALLY can't lose at this point

Gabriel has ALL the miraculous. (Besides ladybug and cat.) He can't lose. There is no possible way Gabriel can't defeat these teenagers. He HAS THE FUCKING ROOSTER MIRACULOUS.

ANY. POWER. THEY. IMAGINE.

POWER.

It is PHYSICALLY impossible for him to lose. I cannot stress this enough, HE HAS THE ROOSTER MIRACULOUS. He doesn't even NEED all the others. The rooster can LITERALLY give him any power. The only limit is his IMAGINATION.

The show tries to make Gabriel out to be some evil, serious threat, but it will be IMPOSSIBLE for anyone EVER to take him seriously if he somehow manages to fuck up this GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY.

It has already been shown in past episodes how incompetent and stupid Gabriel can be, so there is not a doubt in my mind that he will somehow lose all the miraculous back to our 'heroes' and be defeated.

As someone who is drawn more to the villain/antagonist characters, (if they're done properly, that is. Gabriel is an absolute joke and an insult to villains) I can't enjoy his 'victory' that much because I know it won't last long. He'll somehow find a way to have the main characters get the miraculous back and then have them eventually take the butterfly and peacock away from him.

Season 5 won't even be enjoyable for me to watch (but I'm going to watch it anyway because I love complaining about kids cartoons) because I know Gabriel will fuck up.

I swear to God if I watch season five when it airs and fucking Gabriel akumatizes ANOTHER FILLER villain who won't impact the story in any way I'm going to scream. He literally has SO many chances to win.

He has the rooster AND the bunny miraculous. Time travel and the ability to have ANY power. How can he lose???? He can go back in time to fix the peacock miraculous before his wife uses it (or something, I don't know. This show is so annoying I can't even remember half the 'important' stuff they throw at us because I'm too busy watching uninteresting characters no one cares about getting their feelings hurt.) He can back in time and see who master fu meets with and who he gives miraculous to.

I'm calling it right now, season 5 is going to be dog shit. Absolute DOG SHIT. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong, maybe the writers will somehow turn it around. Probably not, though.

I was thinking about what my favorite episodes were this past season. And, I know there’s most likely a lot of people who liked the finale the best, but

Wishmaker is my #1 favorite.

Why? Because it hits so close to home and it was so damn emotional. Let’s recap.

If you’ve ever had to work a really crappy office job and/or struggled to decide what you want for your future, the career fair scene are so relatable in that sense. I loved Andre’s backstory behind his job, and was so sad seeing Adrien question what he wants for his future. Both are so realistic and relatable.

And my god, just when we thought Gabriel is the controlling parent, due to Emilie’s passing, we learn that she was too - throughout Adrien’s whole life.

Watching Cat Noir imagine his parents and then turn into himself instead of something like a fireman, a magician, etc (like a typical little kid would think of), is so heart shattering. There’s absolutely no denying this boy has had controlling parents his entire life.

I remember crying for hours after that episode premiered. wish I could say I’m exaggerating.

And then someone finds out both Ladybug and Cat Noir’s identities, and that someone happens to be Luka, who absolutely loves and adores Marinette. Insane. His reaction also gets me every time. They did such a good job of giving him such sad and incredibly shocked facial expressions after finding out.

It’s such a well-done episode.

And to be honest, I’d say runner up is actually Risk. Strikeback is extremely good - the end scene is phenomenal. However, seeing Adrien yell about wanting to be a good son and hating his modeling job was just jaw dropping.

And also the fact that holding Marinette’s hand was a risky thing for him. I’m still screaming.

Then, Felix makes the perfect comeback and gives Adrien that wild pep talk. Yes.

But one of the absolute BEST moments is definitely Kagami yelling at Adrien about letting other people control his life and make decisions for him. That was just so unexpected and the fact that someone actually told Adrien that, just…holy shit.

I know I’m going off but the episodes are so good. I needed to talk about them again lol

HI GUYS IT TIME FOR MY REVIEW OF MIRACULOUS TALES OF LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR SEASON 4

Also reminder this is my opinion and my opinion only I haven’t put anyone else’s opinion on this

In all honesty I rate this season a 3/10 , this season was really boring to me and the story felt like it was going nowhere until the last two episodes.

I have no faith in the writers at this point and I’m so disappointed because this show has the potential and fanbase to be great and it’s lacking so much I really think that they just need to focus on being hero’s next season and throw all the romance out the window ,because if you’re not blind then you know that Adrien and Marinette aren’t good for each other and they’ve dragged the love square on for long enough ,it’s honestly ridiculous how they’ve blinded some people with that relationship

The worst episode of the season was the dearest family episode and I stand by that statement 100% and the best for me was probably Strikeback because we got some type of development but it’s probably going to be thrown out the window by that the 4th episode

So that was my review and I stand by my opinions and hope to god that they fix this show to make it bare able for future generations

1. BIRDS

By virtue of so many of my favourite characters being bird-themed. I like dishing out symbolism like musical leitmotivs to facilitate identification and ensure writing consistency, so obviously they do a lot of landing and nestling and taking flight. It’s particularly helpful when, say, one character has a bad habit of impersonating another and you want to give your readers a clue about their real identity! 😇 Speaking of…

2. Sun/light/gold

You know how I feel about Sun Felix and Moon Adrien! It’s about the trope subversion. It’s about the silver of the amoks and the gold of the camouflaged brooch. It’s about Strikeback and Red Moon. It’s about Felix straight-up refusing to be doomed by the narrative and single-handedly becoming this gravitational force that flings the plot around like it’s nothing. That’s the good stuff right here.

3. Sea/storm

Nothing like the immensity of the sea during a storm to let you know you’re in danger. It’s giving Odyssey it’s giving hidden creatures it’s giving Nina watched The Little Mermaid 2 too many times as a child.

On the other hand, living near the sea will absolutely fix you. The ocean is a symbol of freedom (ask Edmond Dantès) and treasures to discover. There’s a childlike wonder in discovering tiny fossils or pretty shells that have somehow made their way to shore, and to you. Bottles thrown to the sea like coins in a well… The lapping of waves, leaving but always coming back… Water like a fortress that protects you from intrusion. A lighthouse in the dark. Fireworks on the beach. Seagulls. Hope and safety.

And it’s BLUE 💙🌊

Hi luv. I wanted to ask you what some of your favourite ships have been throughout the years? And what was it about them or their dynamic that drew you in?

Hey there, lovely! Oh wow, great question/s...let me rev my mental engine and see what memories come sputtering out...

I'm assuming you mean the slashy-goodness pairings, rather than the het ones?

Assuming that's the case, as far as the dynamics and what draws me in...there's a noticeable trend with the pairings I like, though I'm not sure if it's required exactly, but seems to be how the slashy-cards fall...which is the whole old as dirt 'enemies to friends' (and in my headspace, lovers) trope. Oorah, I do love a good 180 on all that super-charged energy. I also happen to be a diehard sucker for warriors/cops/soldiers -- this, undoubtedly, is the biggest draw for me.

Yeah, warrior trope (in its myriad forms) is my hands-down favourite. It's what I write and what I enjoy watching/reading. Most of the m/m pairings I like have the dynamic of wit/banter, opposites colliding (though not always), strong male energy (effeminate guys not my thing), equal footing (not a big fan of the top/bottom, uke/seme dynamic, though I can roll with it if both characters stand strong in their male energy no matter who's 'on top'). I also appreciate a bigger picture sense of urgency, depth, or story, that draws the characters together rather than a domestic or fluffy kind of setting (absolutely nothing wrong with either of those, just not my cuppa chai if that's all there is to it).

In no particular order of preference...

Scott/Stonebridge (Strikeback): warriors/soldiers...Yank and Brit. SAS and Delta. Hell and Yes. Mercy, I'm a puddle on the floor. Great combo.

Jorian (Almost Human): cop and robo-cop! Fascinating concept of an android with empathy/emotions partnered with an anti-robot detective. All up in there with this ship. Layered, funny, great chemistry. Was so gutted they discontinued the show after only one season *cries*

Destiel (Supernatural) -- Ooooh, now this Titanic vessel comes with a big caveat insofar as my kinda ships go. I'm predisposed towards what I like to call the pre-Castrated version of Cas (you see what I did there? (^_~ ) Yes, I'm a muppet), where he doesn't allow himself to be treated like such a bloody doormat. Take Cas outta the 'lost puppy that constantly shits the self-esteem rug' persona and thrust him back into his more 'you-should-show-me-some-respect’ warrior energy and I'm aaalllll over that. Doesn't mean he has to lose his fun and endearing quirkiness, or even his devoted attitude towards Dean...but the whole I'll-be-your-punching-bag passiveness for an eons old entity (a 'warrior of god', no less) just rubs me wrong. Ridiculous how epic this pairing would've been if it made canon (though I supposed it kind of did...was legit, albeit unrequited...as far as we know and can assume.)

Rickyl (Walking Dead): cop and...er...outlaw? ;) Loved so much about their dynamic and the depth of their bond. The way they read each other. There's something animal in it at times. They've been through some hella bad shit together.

Sterek (Teen Wolf): ha. Jokes. Now this one is certainly somewhat of a curveball for me, but I couldn't help it, given the brilliant way Dylan O'Brien played to this ship. Not my usual go-to for several reasons, but it tickled me and was good fun.

best season 4 ep(s)?

Love this question! I did a rewatch of season 4 start to finish once season 4 officially ended since the whole seasons order was sporadic as usual and I wanted to see what my favorites were after it all aired.

I would say without a doubt Risk and Strikeback was the best season finale the show has offered thus far and loved how the moments we saw in those two episodes were built up over the whole season. These episodes are definitely one of the best the show has to offer.

Gang of Secrets, Kuro Neko, and Ephemeral had the best "oh my god" moments I honestly wish those episodes had a part 1 and part 2, but that's not how the episodes are made and they packed as much as they could in 21 minutes.

And lastly the funnest episodes to me was Mr. Pigeon 72, Gabriel Agreste, Glaciator 2, Rocketear, and Dearest Family because honestly this show is my guilty pleasure show so I want the silly episodes as much as the intense plot lines!

Season 4 overall had a lot of good episodes and a different overall vibe than previous seasons. I think the episodes that lack to me were the ones where we were hero overloaded and some new hero reveals fell flat when in the past it was handled decently.

I am definitely excited for the next season!!

Nathalie is a little better than Gabriel. I will support her redemption if only because 1. She’s the only reason Adrien was allowed to go to school. 2. She is generally nicer to him than his father and has tried several times to appeal to Gabriel when she sees him upset. 3. She encouraged Gabriel to be honest with Adrien over what he was doing 4. We never got to see her in the aftermath of the reveals in Ephemeral or Chat Blanc. She gave Chat Noir up but it’s possible that she didn’t realize Gabriel would react the way he did.

It’s true she’s been supporting a crazy terrorist man and simping needlessly for him but I am just happy to see her (maybe) come to her senses and I’m more tolerant of her redemption than his. I don’t know how long this anti-Gabriel phase is going to last. He might lure her back in. In one of those screenshots it looks like she might get akumatized and be purple too? So she might say “he made us purple together and that means his love is true.” I’m hoping for the best anyway.

I don't think Nathalie nor anyone is worse than Gabriel. Gabriel is the bottom of the bottom. I just find their relationship toxic and Nathalie's standards low af. Gabriel isn't even good looking and he doesn't have a nice personality.

At first I didn't even notice Nathalie. Then in Heroes Day part two I found her relationship with Gabriel already toxic and a huge red flag was how she risked her life for a man who just beat two children with a stick in front of her. He did THAT to Ladybug and Chat Noir in front of the whole Paris and Nathalie was like "I love him so much he deserves help he is a good man who loves his family". Then as the season 3 went on I disliked her and their whole relationship more and more, I already hated him of course. But the whole concept of what they have is unhealthy to me. Then in Chat Blanc she literally spent all credit with me. The "she didn't know what he was going to do to Adrien" could work if she didn't help Gabriel break Adrien's and Marinette's hearts earlier in the same ep. She already hurt Adrien, she broke his heart. Then when she snitched on him to his father OH MY GOD I WANTED TO MURDER THESE TWO ADULTS SO MUCH IN THAT EPISODE! Then Risk, don't forget it when she flew in to control Adrien with the ring cuz Gabriel couldn't. I don't see her as a momma bear nor anyone who looks at Adrien more than a tool to help his father. I literally don't care if she dies. I used to feel little sorry for her in Strikeback when she collapsed but now I legit don't care. I just want her to go to prison or whatever. Like people legit hate Marinette and then call Nathalie "power woman who has standards, successful queen" what's with the fandom praising every bad female character and hating the good ones lol?! I would rather give Chloé development at this point than Nathalie. Chloé has more potential and she's a kid, Nathalie is a grown woman destroying the world for a one inch long d*ck and now I'm supposed to forgive her?! The same woman who's creating and killing sentimonsters knowing full well what Adrien is. Also the same woman who is also teamed up with Lila and she helped Lila against Adrien in Ladybug. Also when she let Gabriel take credit for the gift Marinette made for Adrien... (also I don't need the "that's bc the writers hate Chloé and they will give everyone development before her" just admit the writers f*ck characters up quite often at this point that no wonder the fandom is so confused who's good and who's bad). I'm just so sick and tired of hers "oh no this is so sad Alexa play Despacito" moments. Also when someone compares Gabenath to Love Square 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 f*ck them.

Now I don't know if she'll come back to Gabriel but I always compared Nathalie to Serena from The Handmaid's Tale cuz they are basically the same character, but there was a part of the series when Serena was seriously considering leaving Fred (who is just as bad as Gabriel) and she was so close and then she came back to him even though she wasn't 100% happy with that choice she still forgave him everything. So everything is possible. I just know that it's impossible for me to like Nathalie like it's impossible for me to like Serena. When a character crossed it they crossed it. If Nathalie and Serena don't have standards I have them.

Also (this isn't about this ask tho) if Nathalie stans could just ignore my blog instead of harassing me and making fun of me for hating her that would be really appreciated 😘

You know what I find interesting? When certain extreme moment in the show happens and others heroes are called, a good half of the time Luka is surprisingly non existent. It’s like the writers know if Luka/Viperion was present, there would be no chance to add in the horrible scenarios that most of S3 and S4 are. Guess that backfired on them when they designed a mature and thoughtful character that can literally remove a good chunk of the burden from the main female lead.

I stand by what I said in that they had Luka know as a combination excuse for him to assist the love square to an even deeper degree (either to “””kill””” Lukanette or more unintentional proof that the love square can’t be together without an unreasonable amount of help) and so that they could just not have him be around because he’d break everything.

I can just imagine the one Lukanette writer like, “Hey, have any of you actually thought about the fact that Luka and his family are not only way better for Marinette emotionally, but that having him know basically breaks the entire plot for our finale?”

“Hm... you’re right.”

“Good, so I was thinking--”

“Now we have a writing reason to keep him even further away from Marinette! Oh, and now it’ll be even more effective when we make Chat her only option!”
