Yes; I am well aware of the fact that I'm insane.
I ship Borra and Elina SO FREAKIN HARD!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I even talked to a friend about this and they said 'Dude, I could see it. She could teach him the power of friendship and he could soften up.'
I was trying to write a story just to justify this shit but it didn't work. Not because of the ship though. It was the story that fell apart. Trying to come up with a way for them to interact was the issue. Not the actual interaction. That was going great!
I had Borra meet Elina before she got her wings so he thought she was human, but he saw her trying to help some fairies caught in a trap and watched the iron burn her hands.
The story was so much fun to try and figure out! It was going to be canon compliant to both franchises and I had a timeline worked out and everything. I'm just bad at writing! It would have been great and I was so sad to realize that the fic was dying on me.
Btw, I know Margot Robbie should be the obvious answer, but I personally see Samara Weaving as a live action Elina.

Yes; I want a live action Barbie: Fairytopia movie and I am not ashamed to admit it. Those were my favorites growing up. (Mariposa and her Butterfly Fairy Friends was and is the GOAT.)

ok i headcannon that gojo loves the barbie movies
and i don't mean the 2023 live action i mean those old 2000s cgi messes that have no sensible plot
he loves them for the bit okay he is a silly, goofy individual and he commits to that
but his favorite part is watching them with you.
Tumblr media
"oh my god, look at that fucking thing!"
"thing?" you seethe at him. "that is not a thing. that's bibble and he is awesome, i'll have you know." you and satoru were watching barbie fairytopia: rainbow magic after talking about how it used to be your favorite way back when.
"what even is he?" satoru snickers.
"he's..." you falter. "blue?"
"i can see that silly, i mean what kind of animal is that? what species is he?"
"a blue one!" you state confidently. satoru bursts out giggling at your stubbornness. you give him a gentle shove with your sock-covered foot.
"hey, why are you all the way over there?" he whines, giving you his infamous pout. "come snuggle with meeeeeee." he grabs your foot and yanks your whole body towards him.
"jesus toru," you mumble, mostly to yourself. "so needy." you shake your head but look over at him when you hear him giggle, this one much softer than usual.
"you know you love it," he says, slinging his arm around your shoulders to pull your body to rest against him.
"yeah," you remark softly, "i do."

Barbie movie recommendations
Not really a list of what’s Best™, just ones I personally recommend
5. Barbie in Rock ‘N Royals
Tumblr media
You know Camp Rock? You know Camp Rock 2? This movie is Camp Rock 2 except Barbie is in it. If that doesn’t sound like something you wanna watch I just don’t know what to say to you, there’s nothing else really for you here. There are two camps on either side of a lake, and one has the children of royalty in it and the other is just normal rich kids who want to be rock stars, and the camps are rivals for some reason. The two main characters both end up in the wrong camp and hijinks ensue. The royal kids can use magic for absolutely zero reason. This one’s my favorite of the newer barbie movies, but it’s mostly just a glitter romp. It has music in it, and none of it’s bad but it’s not the most memorable either. The music video at the end of this movie is my everything tho.
4. Barbie as the Island Princess
Tumblr media
In this one Barbie gets raised by a red panda and a peacock who are her gay dads, so that’s good. The elephant’s pretty bad though. The movie spends a very short time on the titular island before some guy shows up and they all go join society but she’s not good at it so she’s sad. Some of the songs in this one are absolute bangers, but there’s also a song where some rats sing about various cheeses so. The villain in this movie? Wild. Her family got exiled for trying to kill the king and queen of their country, so to get her revenge she marries some old king and either lets him die or kills him(? unclear) and has a daughter specifically so she can train her up to be able to marry the first king’s son? So that at the wedding reception she can poison everyone with a sleeping draught that will make them starve to death? Wild. This one is worth it for a few really good songs and some genuinely touching moments, but in general it’s just okay.
3. Barbie: Fairytopia
Tumblr media
The doll they used for the cover on this one looks really weird for some reason. Rest assured, the main character doesn’t look like that. I think this movie’s pretty divisive in Barbie movie fans? Which I can understand, the animation’s kinda wonky, the plot may not make sense, Bibble is there. But for me this one’s really special, and that’s because out of all the Barbie movies that tried to immerse you in a brand new world, this is the one that really succeeded. As a five year old girl or whatever, this felt like Lord of the Rings. Fairytopia shows you just enough locations and “lore” to make you feel like there really is an extended universe to explore, which is probably why they kept setting movies in this world (also ‘cause fairies sell but). Anyways, I think this movie is good and you should watch it because I want to set a tabletop rpg in this universe and also I have a crush on Azura. That’s about it.
2. Barbie and the Diamond Castle
Tumblr media
The gayest Barbie movie, hands down. The poorly modeled dogs will get up on their hind legs and they will dance and it will make your eyes feel like bleeding but it’s all worth it because this movie is so gay. The plot of this movie doesn’t matter. Ignore the villain and her terrible poop dragon. Liana and Alexa live in a house together and they own a small business and they sing songs about how much they love eachother. The movie tries to give them male love interests but instead they accidentally added in some trickster twin archetypes and reference that they have literally been sleeping around at bars and stuff. When they try to flirt with them the girls just give eachother knowing “we’re too gay for this” looks. They’re all good friends and I love them. The music is pop-ish and good and “Two Voices One Song” especially will fill your heart with gay love. It’s worth it.
1. Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper
Tumblr media
This is it. It’s the Barbie movie. It’s a legitimately well made musical and it can be romantic and harrowing and touching and it has good characters and no one’s too annoying and it’s just a good movie okay? If you watch any Barbie movie let this be the one. The actions that characters take actually make sense and help establish them as well-rounded people. The plot’s a little convoluted but it makes general sense. There’s some minimal commentary about income inequality? (although it’s “solved” by the end of the movie so uhhhhh). The songs. They are. Iconic. You will love at least one. None of them are bad. I don’t know what to say about this one because it’s just Good. Watch it.
