For the character ask, 4, 8, and 21. Sorry if any where asked already.
Heyy my koala 🐨 hope you've been well and again, I adored your snowboarding drabble fic 💙
4. What was their favourite nursery rhyme when they were a kid?
I stand by twinkle twinkle little star for chloe for obvious reasons and am gonna go with ol' mcdonald had a farm for beca because I believe that she's an adorable baby who likes to make up her own rhymes and "animals" to be on the farm and tinker with a lil musical instrument for babies that her mom got her while singing it and ugh, beca's pouty cuteness when she's with chloe and when she's super comfortable with the bellas has to come from somewhere right?
8. Do they use someone to warm their hands/feet in the winter?
Skdjkshdkj this is actually what got me to reblog this bc I just couldn't help but automatically answer when @accio-sense dropped this in the gc...
Beca says no but chloe does it anyway, bc she knows that beca wasn't being 100% serious with that look in her eyes and shuffles closer, taking beca's hands in hers and snuggling into her chest while they watched whatever was playing in front of them, whether it is a movie or a show or a music playlist or a breeze fluttering across barren branches or the bellas just fooling around, and chloe loves the warmth radiating into her hands and feet and beca loves the feeling of chloe being her personal blanket in the chilly winter air.
21. What’s their favourite way of being kissed? (if they like being kissed)
God, there are a lot of kissing topics lately regarding bechloe for me these days sksjhdsk.
Beca likes to be covered, like the one laying on top of the sheets while hands roam over her body and the one against the wall while a knee presses into her bc she knows she's a tad bit on the shorter side but heights don't really matter when someone else is essentially holding you up against a solid brick wall.
Chloe honestly just adores any way, especially if they're from beca, bc no matter what other people may say or think beca's actually really good and hot at kissing and she's always left kind of breathless when they end, even if it's just a chaste peck on the lips with a gentle tug of her hair as beca leaves for a day at work.
(But if you really really want to know and persists in asking her, chloe would say forehead kisses bc beca doesn't give them to anyone else and when she does it's almost like an instinct reaction, bc chloe is close and beca is in the middle of something and just wants to acknowledge that she knows she's there and will get right back to her as soon as she's done with that something.)
Thank you for sending these! They made me sooo soft haha 🙈

Landslide (Jan/Rock) - Aries
a/n - written for winter as part of our gc’s gift exchange! thanks as always to alex for beta-ing, and to stephanie’s child for providing a gorgeous cover of the titular song that i listened to for four hours straight while i wrote. also on ao3 here! <3
summary - jan moves across the country, and it isn’t as easy to adjust as she’d hoped. (a songfic based on landslide by fleetwood mac)
I took my love, I took it down / I climbed a mountain and I turned around / And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills / ‘Till the landslide brought me down
Jan decides to move out the summer after she turns eighteen, fresh out of high school and desperate for something, anything, better than the life she’s grown up to know. She pulls out a map of the states and a dartboard, closes her eyes and spins around a few times like a kid at a birthday party, and almost laughs herself sick when she sees fate has driven her to the opposite coast. She finds an apartment and spends a week or two sinking in the San Francisco life like the most cliche of tourists - tries all the instagram-worthy desserts, takes photos on every beach she can find, goes on sunrise hikes to the Golden Gate Bridge, and relishes in how different it is to home.
She meets Jaida one night at some club about half a mile from her apartment when it’s late and she’s too drunk to remember her name, and drags her home with her through giggles and clouds of smoke. She doesn’t think much of it when she’s gone the next morning, or when she just so happens to go to the same bar the next evening and just so happens to see Jaida waiting in the corner, drink in hand, dark eyes inviting and terrifying and beautiful and everything she needs. She doesn’t allow herself to think anything at all of it when it keeps happening; kisses are shared far more frequently than words, and she’s read enough trashy romance novels to know things like this come and go too quickly to warrant anything too domestic or comfortable.
Despite this, she tries. She tries to make conversation through messed up white linen sheets and she tries not to be upset at the short answers she gets, if she gets them at all. She tries, above all else, to keep her head above water, because she’s learned fast that life here gets lonely, and an hour or two of feeling like she’s floating doesn’t neutralise the hurt in her stomach the morning after that weighs her down like rocks in her pockets.
‘Don’t you want to stay?’ She asks Jaida one morning as she’s slipping on her shoes, ready to leave again. She looks back at Jan, visibly confused.
‘Jan,’ she sighs, standing up and twisting the doorknob, ‘you know that isn’t going to happen.’
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? / Can the child within my heart rise above? / Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? / Can I handle the seasons of my life?
She learns, faster than anything else, that the key to surviving when you’ve dropped yourself somewhere brand new is to pick one of two options and stick with it: you can either establish yourself as someone that sticks out of the norms, someone that grabs attention, or you can try your best to blend in and adapt, and act as if you’ve been there the whole time. She’s always been good at living life in shades of grey, fading into the background when she wants to, and she decides that now, she wants to, so she does. She gets a job working at the reception desk of an office building just far enough from her apartment for her to be able to class the walk there and back as sufficient exercise and gains friends that she has over sometimes, but not too often, and never for too long.
She doesn’t frequent bars anymore - a girl her age moves in across the hall from her, and she doesn’t want to be the asshole that wanders in at two in the morning and wakes up her neighbours. They bump into each other in the halls, sometimes, and exchange a few words. One time, the girl - Jackie, apparently - invites her out for coffee, and she accepts. This isn’t blending in, insists the voice at the back of her head, but she’d look rude if she said no, so she allows herself this. Jackie’s from Iran, Jan learns, and she’s lived in California for the past year but only in San Francisco for a month, give or take. She works at a music store not too far from where they live, but can’t play any instruments (‘I just asked for the job, and they must have felt sorry for me!’), and her girlfriend is from Illinois but lives in LA, which is closer than they were originally but not close enough, and she’s a big fan of old TV dramas, and she talks a lot. It’s nice, Jan decides, to have to listen to a voice that isn’t her own. She thinks they’d be good friends, maybe, if they spoke more.
She falls into a routine more quickly than she’d like to admit. She wakes up at 7-ish, rolls reluctantly out of bed, fills her stomach with caffeine, and strides on into the office to greet one of the guys that works at the desk across her. He’s chipper as always, beaming through paperwork, somehow. He asks if Jan’s doing alright, she looks a bit pale, and Jan reflects his billion-dollar smile right back in his face and lies through gritted teeth. He doesn’t seem convinced, but doesn’t push. Jan clocks out that evening and walks home, averts her eyes when she passes the shitty bar she knows too well. She walks past Jackie in the hallway and smiles half-heartedly but doesn’t stop to talk, and she hates the way Jackie glances at her, eyes are full of pity as she watches her walk into her apartment.
Well, I’ve been afraid of changing / ‘Cause I’ve built my life around you / But time makes you bolder / Even children get older / And I’m getting older too
Jan’s phone rings at half past six in the morning every morning for a good week before she admits defeat and picks it up. The voice on the other end is too perky, too loud, to be heard that early, but it’s as comforting as it’s been her whole life, and she’s so glad to hear it she almost bursts into tears.
‘Jaaaaaan,’ Lagoona greets her, and Jan can hear the smile in her voice, ‘where the fuck have you been? I haven’t spoken to you in weeks!’
‘Busy,’ Jan replies, tries to make herself sound as convincingly happy as she can manage. ‘I’ve had a lot to do out here.’
‘Well, clear your calendar,’ comes the reply, and Jan has to stop herself from laughing - as if she’s seen anyone, or left the house for more than an hour at a time, for the past month. ‘We’re coming to see you.’
‘ We? ’ Jan questions. ‘As in, you and-’
‘Your whole family,’ Lagoona quips, ‘and your cat. No, duh, me and Rosé.’
Their flight lands at 10:40 on Friday night, and Jan runs herself ragged trying to make herself and her apartment presentable enough for them to take her seriously. When she leaves to catch an Uber to the airport, Jackie’s walking up the stairs.
‘Hey, you,’ she smiles, waving with one arm. ‘Nice to see you.’ The ‘going out for once’ is unspoken but obviously implied, but Jan doesn’t have the energy to get offended. She smiles, waves back, shoots back a ‘You, too,’ and runs down the stairs so she doesn’t miss the car. She greets Lagoona and Rosé at their gate with a bag of donuts and laughs at their excitement, accepts their running hugs with open arms. It’s 1am by the time they’re settled into Jan’s apartment and she’s thrown together a makeshift bed on the floor out of blankets and pillows she has lying around. It feels like a sixth-grade sleepover and it’s refreshing and comforting in a way nothing has been for months.
Their three-day stay passes faster than any of them would like, and they’re lying in the dark on their final night talking absentmindedly about everything and nothing when Rosé sighs loudly and flicks on a lamp, sitting up and turning to Jan’s bed.
‘Jan, baby, we’re really worried about you,’ she sighs, genuine concern in her eyes. ‘I know you say you have it all together here, but you don’t seem happy.’
‘Of course I’m happy,’ Jan replies, smiling. ‘You guys are here. I’m having a great time.’
‘You know what I mean.’ Rosé looks at her, and she knows there’s no point lying. ‘I know you wanted a new start and I won’t push it, but if you’re not doing well, come home. We miss you.’
They spend the Uber drive to the airport talking about things Jan can do to make the most of west coast life, and Lagoona pulls a notepad and pen out of her purse, scribbling something down when she thinks Jan’s not looking. She hands it to her before she heads through security with Rosé, squeezing Jan’s hands and pulling her in for another hug. ‘If you don’t get all of this shit done in the next month, I’m flying you back to New York myself,’ she laughs. ‘Consider it a to-do list.’ Jan watches them walk off, waves at them through tears, and pulls the piece of notebook paper out of her pocket, unfolding it. Make a damn friend!!! is the first point. She laughs to herself, shoves the list back into her coat, and makes a beeline for the Starbucks in the arrivals lounge when someone bumps into her and knocks her phone out of her hand, sending it skidding to the floor.
‘Oh, fuck, I’m really sorry,’ says the person, bending down to grab her phone. Jan looks at her and smiles, shaking her head.
‘It’s no problem, don’t worry about it,’ she replies. The stranger holds out a hand for her to shake, and she obliges, despite how foreign it feels.
‘I’m Roxanne,’ the girl smiles, and then her face scrunches up. ‘But nobody calls me that, ever, so I don’t know why I introduced myself that way at all. Rock. I’m Rock. And you?’
‘Jan,’ she says, slightly taken aback. She shoves her hand back into her pocket, and it closes around Lagoona’s list. ‘Hey, would you wanna go get some coffee, maybe?’
Oh, take my love, take it down / Oh, climb a mountain and turn around / And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills / Well, the landslide will bring it down
Come October, Jan’s decided to scrap the routine, but there are bits she likes to keep. She calls Lagoona and Rosé every Friday night at seven, for one, and they update each other on how their weeks went. She sees Jackie every day, obviously; now they’re working at the same store, they commute together and talk a lot more. Jackie’s girlfriend’s coming to stay for a week soon, she tells Jan when they’re walking home one evening, and she thinks it’d be a good idea if they all went out to get drinks or something - or coffee, she suggests, if that’s easier.
‘It depends when,’ Jan smiles, but nods. ‘I’d love to, but you won’t be able to get me out of the house on Friday nights.’
Rock knocks on her apartment door later that night, a bag of Chinese takeout in one hand and a Legally Blonde DVD in the other.
‘You said you didn’t know what we could do,’ she grins, ‘so I thought this was pretty reliable.’ She strides inside, throwing the food onto the kitchen counter and pulling Jan into a hug. ‘I’m proud of you, you know.’
Jan laughs, hugs her back, pushes the door closed behind her with her foot. ‘For what?’
‘Just in general,’ Rock replies. ‘I think it’s nice to hear that sometimes. You wanna watch Reese Witherspoon go to law school while we eat, or after?’
Jan smiles a lot more now. Rock says it’s one of her favourite things about her, but Jan’s convinced she’d say that about anything, providing it’d make her blush. It makes a change, though she’s not sure it’s a bad one - she’s still not wholly used to seeing herself in brighter clothes and happier expressions in mirrors, but she’ll do what she can to stand out.

Queenified (Part 1)
Hey guys! I went from posting absolutely nothing (and because my gc asked for it) to posting my first Queen fic! It’s a very silly idea I got and it wasn’t meant to be published anywhere. This is my own version of Queen’s story in an AU where Brian and John are female for no particular reason, so I’m not accepting any kind of childish blacklash, but useful to also show some things about women in music and in the seventies from time to time.
Also!!!! English is not my native language and I’m very insecure about writing in English, so I’m expected to have some mistakes that maybe I didn’t realize about idioms and that kind of stuff. My biggest inspiration is tumblr! (lol) That’s it, if you’re interested, enjoy!

Chapter one: Freddie.
Trigger warning: not for now. Chapter song: Doing All Right (Smile/Queen)
The sun was setting in the beautiful city London was. He wasn’t still used to it, but adored it nonetheless. The chaos the Bulsaras left behind in Zanzibar became now the caos of moving and starting again, or something like that.
It wasn’t so difficult to Farrokh, actually. Of course, the whole shock hit him too, but going to England was a whole new deal he absolutely loved. Thanks to his high grades he had been accepted in Ealing Art College and started studying graphic design. But not long after graduation he moved to the fantastic London, with all its possibilities. He then had a place in Kensington Market and sold second-hand clothes, specially Edwardian clothes, with his girlfriend, Mary Austin, and an acquaintance of his, Roger Taylor.
But he wouldn’t have met Roger back then if it hadn’t been for his college mate Tim, who had a band called Smile with him and a girl, Brianna, who shut every toxic masculinity’s mouth with her amazing skills with the guitar. Brianna, also, was friends with Mary and the one who introduced her to Farrokh. There was kind of a lesbian energy, but he had never been sure about it; Brianna always claimed to be straight, not even bisexual. Maybe it was just him.
Anyway, nothing of it was getting into his mind right then, during his way back home after a tiring shift at Heathrow. Not even his name, which now was Freddie. At least then he was going to London instead of Middlesex, and didn’t live on his own. Brianna must have been making the greatest dinner he had ever had.
It was almost night when he took the keys out of his pocket and opened the door of the flat. He quickly hung his coat up on one of the hangers, being Tim’s the only one empty, while the aroma of tomato sauce was invading the room. Roger was sitting on the couch, watching tv.
“Hey, Fred!”, Roger called, his mouth full of chips, and held the packet high while he half-turned his head to see his flatmate. “Want some chips?”
“Not on the couch, Christ!”, a feminine voice complained at Freddie’s left. It was Brianna, holding the wooden spoon.
“What’s the deal, whatsoever?”, Roger questioned, raising his eyebrows towards Brianna while Freddie took some chips out of the packet, standing behind the couch. He enjoyed watching Roger and Brianna argue from time to time, they made it somehow funny and sometimes he liked to think there was some chemistry between them. “We always make a mess. Even you do”
“Yeah, but I’m the only one that cleans up since I got to live with three mommy babies”, Brianna answered, pointing at them with the sauce-tainted wooden spoon. She was a funny image compared to them, wearing the kitchen apron and her messy curls all around her head with no control. She did her best to cook decent food with the little they had. “We have a gig tomorrow and I also want to sleep my ass off before evening. You two work, I work AND study”
Looking at the clock on the wall before going back to the half-made dinner, Brianna pinched her eyebrows. “Where the hell is Tim, by the way? He should be here by now”
Obviously, everyone in the flat had almost learnt everyone’s schedules by heart. One of them missing mysteriously is easy to find out sometimes. And as far as they are concerned, Tim wasn’t seeing anyone to go out without telling them. Maybe he bumped into someone?
Both Freddie and Roger made gestures showing they knew less than her.
“Oh, Fred, how was your day?”, Brianna asked then, going back to the food.
“As shitty as working at Heathrow could be, love. But thanks anyway”, Freddie replied. He walked towards the countertop and slipped his hand into the pot to take a bit of sauce into his mouth. He didn’t care about the heat when he licked his finger, and after that he kissed Brianna’s cheek. “Your spaghetti, however, can change anyone’s day. And even more if you add a little bit of salt”.
“Hey! You never ask how my day was!”, Roger’s jealous voice could be heard from behind, crossing his arms. He could be such an angry furby sometimes.
Brianna incredulously turned around and stared at the blonde. “I don’t need to. Your face gives me enough information every time”
It wasn’t long until Brianna finished cooking, and she decided they couldn’t wait for Tim any longer. Freddie helped her setting the table while Roger was forced to clean off the salt grains he dropped from the couch. During dinner, Brianna and Roger arranged the next day’s gig with Freddie’s humble opinion; they also complaint about the daily life and Roger chatted about his sex life (with Brianna’s silent eyeroll).
A few minutes later, there was a key noise at the door. Tim Staffell, the missing flatmate, appeared from behind the door.
“Mate, where the hell have you been?”, Roger inquired, suddenly raged. He hadn’t been particularly scared, he just squeezed his brain trying to figure out his friend’s whereabouts. Brianna didn’t say anything, as well as Freddie. But in her mind, it was the fourth night Tim arrived late. “It’s Bri’s spaghetti night!”
“I didn’t realize about the time, but I’m here, safe and sound”, Tim said after hanging his coat up and approaching Brianna to kiss her curls. He knew she was angry as soon as he saw her face. They are not even a couple, but he knew her since high school and without her, that flat would be a fucking war; she was pretty important. “Sorry, Bri. I’ll try to remember it next time”
“I hope you have a good story, at least”, Brianna replied, returning to her own spaghetti. “Friendly reminder that we have a gig tomorrow night”
They didn’t make a fuss about Tim’s late arrival, but he surely finished his dinner alone. After helping Brianna with the dishes, Freddie left for the night. Dragging his feet to his bedroom, he started to feel all the tireness he fought against during the day. His room wasn’t messy, but it had some things out of place. Posters decorated the walls as well as the courtains did the windows; he and Brianna are the only ones that have rooms with big windows while Roger’s and Tim’s had windows little enough. Some clothes were discarded all over the floor, his acoustic guitar laid against the wall with no extra support and his piano was located as a headboard, being a bare mattress his bed (although Brianna got him some sheets and a comforter for the winter).
There were some pictures, though. On the chest of drawers he had a picture of his family, his parents and little sister, who were still living in Middlesex. There was also one of his first cat. People he held dear and didn’t have with him. He was planning on having a picture with the flat gang, too. He had other friends, of course, but they were slowly becoming his family and deserved to be on his wall. They didn’t even laugh at his teeth and that is saying too much although they disagree.
“Dude, it’s a human thing to do”, Roger would’ve said. Roger, who was practically perfect physically speaking. What was better, he would’ve even thrown hands at Kensington Market if someone had said something about it.
Laying on his bed, Freddie felt grateful for a moment. Although he was introverted and shy when being in private, he had supportive friends who had fun with him instead of making fun of him.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi impresses on Swiss Super League debut for Saint Gallen
Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi produced a sterling performance on his Swiss Super League debut as Saint Gallen beat Lugano on Sunday.  The ex-Ghana U-20 goalkeeper was immediately handed his debut after joining the Swiss side last week from French Ligue II side Sochaux. Ati-Zigi took advantage of the opportunity and performed magnificently earning praises from the club's management. "I am extremely happy that we managed it that way," says FCSG sports director Alain Sutter. "Zigi was my absolute dream goal." Even though the Ghana number two failed to keep a clean sheet, Saint Gallen went on to win 3-1 and keep the chase on Young Boys at the top of the table. Ati-Zigi replaced Dejan Stonajovic, who left for English championship side Middlesborough in the winter transfer window. "A really, really good goalie," says ex-YB and -GC manager Ilja Kaenzig, who once worked with the Ghana international. "With African goalies, the wild component is always included. Not so with Zigi. His incredible bounce, the reflexes, everything was great. I've wondered a few times why no one brought him. It is a bargain for St. Gallen. A very exciting story in prospect." Thursday, 10th of november 2005
awoke in my hotel bed. I opened the window... Seoul stretched out before me.
It looks like we'll have good weather today too.
Yesterday's weather report forecasted cold temperatures, but it feels much nicer than expected. Korea's weather gave us a break, at least for now.
From my window I looked down to the ground. I saw that the hotel had frozen its swimming pool for use as an ice-skating rink during winter. It's only November, so they're still preparing it. A large white sheet covered the surface.
I had stayed in this very hotel when I visited back in February. I remember that I had looked through my window and had seen the same scenery. Perhaps I'm staying on the same floor now as I had then... perhaps I'm even in the same room.
The skating rink had been illuminated from beneath the ice's surface when I had been here before. The frozen glow had been powerfully atmospheric. I had wanted to skate so badly, I almost couldn't stand it. The whole scene had radiated a joyous ambience, kind of like Disney's ice show.
You don't get many chances to skate outdoors in Tokyo. I had hoped that I could skate while I am here, but I'm simply too pressed for time.
"I'll ice-skate for sure this time!" I had even brought a pair of brand new gloves. I'll have to postpone skating once again though. The rink hasn't even opened yet. I'll try again next time.
I left my room to eat the hotel's breakfast. On my way I passed some members of our preparation team who were heading to the G-STAR site.
We arrived late because we had run into a traffic jam on our way to KINTEX.
A group of able-bodied men surrounded me the second that I stepped from the car. The bodyguards escorted me into the building.
The show would start at 10 A.M., so I double-checked the stage and our booth. I mounted the MGS stage and lightly rehearsed. I tested the microphone with our interpreter and our emcee. I sat in a chair and déjà vu hit me! It was TGS all over again!
I proceeded to check the video and sound setups for MGS4's presentation in the SCE booth's next-gen theater. I returned to Konami's booth and slipped into the backroom.
Our bodyguards follow us everywhere. They stick beside us even if we only walk a few feet. They hold posts at the backroom entrance all the time. They even guard me in the bathroom. I know that these guys are paid for it, but I really appreciate how far they go for us.
U.S. and European fans are much more intense than the Japanese. I always make sure that I have bodyguard escorts during each event and autograph session. I've never had this many at once though... three to six of them surround me at any given moment.
I considered checking more of the expo site, but I didn't have enough time. In addition, it wasn't easy to move quickly from place to place. I am so well protected here that I'm like Vic Viper with Option and Force Field defenses activated.
Meanwhile, Korea's first game expo finally opened. Korean companies furnish most of the booths. They all look great. Korea is an impressive force in the gaming industry.
Korea could outrun Japan in the gaming industry at this rate. Asian booths had challenged Japanese booths at TGS, and Japan has already been beaten at E3. Korean booths naturally hold center-stage on their home turf.
On another note... I hadn't noticed that Korean women are so tall! They have gorgeous legs!
The grand opening was so slow compared to my experiences with other game expos. I'm accustomed to the usual rush of visitors at TGS and GC. G-STAR's visitors entered slowly and hesitantly. I heard that the expo hadn't opened until the very last second.
I rehearsed one last time in the backroom with both our interpreter and MC.
Afterwards I ate some lunch. We had sushi bento, Korea's specialty Kimpa (Makizuishi), and my favorite Sin Ramyun (hot ramen). Even Shin-chan tried Sin-chan! It was like a picnic!
I asked our interpreter to listen to my introductory speech. I had practiced it in Korean. I wanted to include the line from Sympathy for Lady Vengeance that I learned yesterday, but I ultimately decided against it. I foresaw too much room for misunderstanding among those who hadn't seen the movie.
She told me that I could say it if an interviewer asks about Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. I still received concerned looks whenever I said it. They'd always ask, "Where did you learn that expression?"
I told them that I had learned it from Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, and they smiled and said, "Oh, I see!"
A large banner hung in the conference hall reserved for the press meeting just outside the main expo grounds. It read "HIDEO KOJIMA."
We have the same interpreter now who had worked with us in February. She does excellent work, so she easily translated my long and complex Japanese.
I mounted the MGS stage at 2 P.M.
I'm thankful that everything was a huge success.
The Korean fans were truly enthusiastic! They were almost as intense as the European MGS fans.
I wound up making a slight mistake with my Korean toward the end of my memorized greeting. Also, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance never came up during the Q&A... I didn't get to say "Neo na jal haseyo" after all.
An autograph session followed the Q&A. We required that all participants have reserved their autographs online, so everything went smoothly.
I was asked to autograph a variety of things. I wonder... did they find them all online? Some people brought limited editions of Japanese items. A few people even brought copies of the MSX2 Metal Gear and Policenauts for the NEC PC-9821. People also brought hardware for me to autograph, such as PS2s, Nintendo DSs, and PSPs.
Several Korean fans actually spoke strong Japanese. They must play their games in Japanese too.
Mr. Sang Young Lee from Phantagram visited me in the backroom early in the evening. We had last seen each other around six months prior. We had missed each other at TGS because we had been so busy. We conversed for about an hour. He seemed as though he's been busy with Ninety Nine Nights.
G-STAR's first day ended at 5 P.M.
Folks from the MGS community had come to help us for one of our events. I thanked them for volunteering to test MGO.
Young, enthusiastic, grateful fans had responded to an internet advertisement distributed by UNIANA. They know as much about MGS as we do, and they love it equally too. They played MGO just as well as KojiPro's staff.
The language barrier tumbled down today and MGS became our common tongue. I would never have expected this at TGS... I'm thankful to share this sort of relationship with my fans. Everyone onstage gathered for a group photo.
We gave them MGS-related souvenirs to express our gratitude. By then the backroom had become another autograph room.
Thank you everyone, and please help us again tomorrow!
I went to a party that evening set up by G-STAR. I saw Mr. Inaba from Clover Studios there.
I left the party and joined some KojiPro staff at a barbecue restaurant for dinner.
Kanpai! Three cheers for G-STAR's first day! This will change Korea's future. I appreciate everyone's work.
Shin-chan and I explained, "We're looking for an out-of-the-ordinary style of leather jacket." We were directed to Tondaemun Market and Namdaemun Market, so we headed there with some others after dinner. We heard that those markets feature wholesalers with really competitive prices. Their reputation has even spread to Japan.
We first headed to Tondaemun Market. The place was so animated! Crowds were everywhere! The hour was so late that I could hardly believe it was real.
I heard that everything here stays open until 5 A.M., so it was still too early to see business in full swing. The real thing hadn't even started yet.
Tondaemun is really outrageous!
We started shopping in the doota building. Many similar looking shops were squeezed beside each other inside. The bustle there was similar to what you'd expect at a department store at midday.
I got a greater shock when I exited the building. Crowds flowed all around me outside. More people seemed to come in cars. It was just before midnight. These downtown streets seem really family-friendly, unlike Shibuya or Shinjuku in Tokyo.
We descended the underground passage leading to stores that specialize in leather and furs. Vendors barked at us on the way down.
"Get your quality knock-offs here!"
"Phantom watches! Phantom watches for sale!"
We apparently couldn't hide the fact that we're Japanese. Was it our clothes? Our group's hairstyle and make-up? However they could tell, they addressed us in Japanese everywhere we went.
"Miss! I can speak Japanese!"
"Oohaa, it's so delicious!" Oohaa? What outdated slang!
We ascended the stairs to street level and arrived at the Pyonfa Market.
"Wow! This is just like Blade Runner! Amazing!"
Food and merchandise sellers' stalls filled the narrow alleys. It looked like it had been packed beyond capacity. This place must feel like a festival every day. It's as vibrant and populated as the New Year's Eve celebrations at the shrines in Japan.
We could buy a slew of different foods here, from Tchigae to Oden. They sold more than just food though. Bags, clothing, and all sorts of items sat on display in storefronts. There was even a shop selling only Bae Yong Joon's brand of socks.
Such life and animation! Even the boardwalk stalls got a lot of customers. Families strode through the streets alongside unchaperoned youths. Such energy! I don't understand why I didn't see any drunks on the street. Just being there invigorated me. The downtown streets never sleep.
I noticed several micro-busses parked on the street. They looked like sight-seeing buses. Were tourists out at that hour?
I thought about this, and then I saw many old women with serious facial expressions--they looked so severe. They carried several large plastic sacks on their backs. I also saw a lot of stuff piled on the street.
Our guide explained to me that the women had come from the rural provinces. They regularly gather a group of people from their provincial towns, rent micro-buses, and shop here. They arrive very early in the morning and shop until the following day. Then they return to their hometowns and sell everything that they bought.
The old women began their serious shopping at the hour I saw them. How colorful!
We ate oden at one of the stalls.
I have wanted to eat oden in Korea ever since I saw Jeon Ji-Hyun eating it in the movie Windstruck.
They offered many different types of oden in shapes made from minced fish. Some were round while others were thin boards. I heard that the seasoning can differ, but it's all still oden. The boardwalk shop also provided skewers.
I decided to try the oden that looked like Japanese Chikuwa. I added some sauce using a brush that they provided. It tasted like Gobo tempura, sans the Gobo.
It was warm and tasty.
While I ate, people flocked to the stall from out of nowhere. Without so much as a greeting, they took oden from the stall. No one spoke a word... they just ate.
We paid for our food after telling the stall clerk what we had eaten. For some reason, I saw more female customers than male. They ate pretty quickly considering the eating method. To drink the soup, you're supposed to ladle it into a paper cup and then drink directly from the cup.
The soup tasted great too.
If you don't want to finish the soup, then you can simply splash it onto the street. You should put the paper cup in a trashcan though. Everything there was self-service.
We finished and then took a car to Namdaemun Market.
We arrived a little too early for the evening boom again. Half of the shops weren't open yet. I felt a strange sense of familiarity as I walked the streets... aha! The place resembled Ameyoko in Ueno.
Someone suddenly addressed us in Japanese.
"Hey buddy--got some leather jackets here."
Unfortunately we didn't see anything that we wanted. We didn't get what we set out to buy, but we got a lot of other stuff anyway.
I feel as though we bought a slice of Seoul's energy itself. I really enjoyed this. I'll definitely return... and maybe then I'll stay until 5 A.M.
You know, those phantom watches still intrigue me... I wonder what they look like....

Starting Guide
Getting started on our site can be a daunting task given the vast amount of lore and information that it holds. In order to make things easier for you to digest, we suggest that you acclimate yourself fully to the few things you need to know, (i.e. your character’s race and the region they are playing in), at first. As you continue to play on Ariael, you will gradually learn more about our world and its lore. So don’t sweat it if you don’t get everything you need to know right from the get-go, even the founders have trouble sometimes! With that being said, welcome once again to our world. The first thing you should do is read some of our lore so you have an idea of what’s going on in Ariael. Try starting with Ariael’s genesis, whatever gods and goddesses jump out at you, the races that most excite you, and our rules. When all of that’s done and you feel comfortable, feel free to start making the first of your three characters. (You don’t have to make three, but can make up to three). When you register for the site, please use the full name of your character. This means either a first or a last name, or simply a first name, depending on your chosen race’s naming conventions. The first letter of each name should be a capital letter. Once you have registered, you will need to create a character sheet before you can start gameplay. Your character sheet will be posted in the designated forum. It should include information such as the name, race, age, birthplace, and gender of your character. It should also state what languages they speak. Each character can start with up to three languages, with a fourth for the parrot Sarandiel. One language will be spoken fluently, one or two passably, (if the person is a parrot Sarandiel), and the last will be “barely” or “poorly.” One’s CS should also describe their character’s personality, and their history. You could also mention their strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes. It’s entirely up to you! A skeleton CS will be provided for you at the top of the forum, so you have a general guideline of what we’re looking for in order to be approved for play. Once your character’s background has been established, a player needs to pick the skills and lores that their character is to start gameplay with. (More can be earned through gameplay and graded threads). Each player starts with a total of 50 skill points in addition to their racial bonus, and two lores. Please refer to the wiki pages on lores and skills if you need help discerning what types of things are which. At conception, a character can have no more than 25 points in any skill. They can also have no less than 5 points in any of the skills they choose. This means that every character starts off as a novice! Example skill layouts are as follows: Hunting - 25 - Novice Wilderness Survival - 25 - Novice Fortune Telling - 10 - Novice You must list somewhere on your character sheet, perhaps in a dropdown box, which of your skills you started with. You must also list, which two lores you started with. Now that that’s done, you may decide whether or not to start your gameplay with a simadi mark. Some races, such as the Ruven, start with a mark. Although you do not need to apply for this mark like you would another, it is expected that players will state that their character is a Ruven in the HD, and that they would like to be awarded their mark of Divination. This will allow for a founder to create a Storyteller Secrets thread for them. This thread is a private thread which is linked to a user’s profile. It has important information on a character, such as the wages they earned, and awarded marks. It may also contain curses. If a player wants their character to have a simadi mark, but the race is not automatically awarded a mark at conception, as is the case with the Ruven, then they may apply for a mark in the Help Desk. They must do so within their first fifteen posts or it won’t count. In order to earn a simadi mark a player must write a story about how their character earned the mark of a specific god or goddess. In order to be awarded a mark, a character should uphold and embody the ideals of a specific god or goddess. At times, we might ask you to edit your posts in order to be awarded a mark, at other times, you might not be awarded a mark for other reasons. You are free to try again. However, if you cannot attain a simadi mark within 15 posts, you may not start with one. However, you could gain one through gameplay, with a moderated thread. Players who do not wish to start with a simadi mark may simply continue on with the rest of their character creation. Now, they must choose the remainder of their starting package, and the items they would like to start with. They must also create a ledger; placing each somewhere on their character sheet. Players have five options: Option 1: The player starts with a house, cottage, or apartment in any city of their choosing. (The type of dwelling will depend on the city). The accommodation is 30x30 and partially furnished. The room will have a fireplace, a bed, a storage chest, two chairs, and a small wooden table. They also start with a backpack containing one full set of clothing, one waterskin, flint and steel, eating utensils, one set of toiletries, (a brush, razor, sponge, and two bars of soap), and a family heirloom worth less than 25 GC. They also start with 125 GC. Option 2: The player starts with a tent that can fit three people, 100 feet of elvish rope, a lantern, a bedroll, a winter blanket, fishing tackle and hooks, a compass, and a horse. The individual’s mount comes with a riding equipment, (saddle, reins, etc.), two medium-sized saddlebags, and a small bag of oats. They may also begin gameplay with a pet dog if they so choose. The dog will come with a small bowl for food, and another for water. They also start with a backpack containing one full set of clothes, one waterskin, one set of toiletries, eating utensils, and flint and steel. They may also start with an heirloom worth less than 25 GC. They also start with 125 GC. Option 3: The player begins gameplay with a Cyran, a boat equivalent in size to a large sailboat. It is about 40 feet long and another 20 feet wide. It is about eight feet deep, and can house a small group of people rather comfortably. It is equipped with a small harpoon at the bow. Players have to buy bolts for the harpoon, or large arrows to fire at whales, large fish, and porpoises. These items each cost 3 GC for 45 bolts of harpoons. The Cyran moves by use of a large sail, and is relatively swift and sturdy for a vessel of its caliber. Players also start with a bag containing one full set of clothing, one waterskin, flint and steel, eating utensils, one set of toiletries, (a brush, razor, sponge, and two bars of soap), and a family heirloom worth less than 25 GC. They also start with 125 GC. Option 4: Players may “cash-in” their starting package items, allowing them to begin gameplay with 700 GC. These coins may be put toward any item the player sees fit. They also start with an heirloom worth less than 25 GC. Option 5: A player begins gameplay as a slave. They only begin gameplay with a hairbrush and an heirloom worth less than 25 GC. Unlike other, free characters, enslaved individuals do not have to pay seasonal expenses. It is expected that their master or mistress will do so for them. Once a player determines what they would like to start with, they should finish up their character sheet. They may do this by writing some key information about any pets they may have, any elementals they may be contracting with, or any NPCs that they might have been awarded. In order to be awarded an NPC during gameplay, a writer should apply for them in the HD. Information to be included in the write-up would be the name, age, race, and gender of the individual in question. They should also include the NPC’s personality, their relation to their character, what they intend to have their pc learn from the character, how often they might be used, if the NPC is a travelling one, (if they will follow the player’s character wherever they go), and their skillset. Once a NPC has been awarded, they will be added to a player’s storyteller secrets page. From there, a player should look over their CS and then ask a moderator if it looks ok. Once a character sheet is approved, a player may begin posting within the area they would like to start off in.
