i love strive why does it have to complicate its own lore so fucking far. the timeline provides the UN formed the PWAB in 2177 to repair damages after the crusades but the GGWorld entry for Assassins provides "Leon Mining sympathized with the Guild's purpose and formed the Post-War Administration Bureau, offering assistance to the lost, including assassins who had been abandoned." which like is kind of crazy . i dont believe you .

also 2177 is the year PWAB gave the guild the job to kill fausts patient. so like did they retcon pwab being involved with that? did they form just to instantly give zato the job to kill the child (crazy)? im assuming they gave up on the plotline that pwab provided zato with the forbidden spell considering he cast it in 2173 given by the same fucking timeline. maybe it was just that the conclave gave it to him directly. fuck maybe slayer just had THE FUCKING ARCANUM laying around in his stupid evil vampire study he abandoned in the guild when he was so embarrassed his son made it into a band of mercenaries WHO CARESSSSSSSSS. I love Baldur's Gate 2, in the 5 or so hours I played last night I:

-Wandered around the Docks trying to find a way into the sewers (tryna find a weapon to appease a spider druid) and failed

-Walked into a bar and Jeheira got cursed by a slaver she outed (wanted to kill but court said no, should have killed him anyway) tells us to go to the copper coronet in the slums

-Make it to the slums and Minsc's pet miniature giant space hamster is missing back at the docks, we ignore this bc Jeheira is dying.

-Make it to the Coronet to find Belgrade, I mistakenly think he's there in person and wander the whole place incl. getting accosted by this dude I tell I don't want to fight and Minsc finally gets sick of hearing him and kills him.

-Find the door to the backrooms and search for Belgrade there, find out the owner of the coronet is a slaver too and has a bunch of people locked up, I go and kill his beastmaster and all his pets and free the enslaved people, go with them to kill the owner and hadjek, one of the freed, takes over. Tells me there's more slavers yet and i put this aside for now bc Jeheira is creaking and telling me old lady Harper stories which is a bad sign for her health.

-I finally talk to the barkeep who tells me Belgrade was dead and died in the east slums, head out and search the east slums and after some detours (halfling home, a fence for a nice gem bag, and offload a bunch of junk) I find him and tell him I'm just going to kill him bc idc and his dumbass summons the mage that cursed her and I kill them all. Get a lock of jeheira's hair and uncurse her.

-Head back to the coronet to sleep off the remaining curse and get approached by a ruler to come help his people in Windspear hills, yes finally I need to go there.

-Find and ignore Korgan, for now.

-Minsc wakes up and cries for Boo, so we set off to try and reclaim him at the docks

-Scimitar thrower throws scimitars at Minsc's head until he kills him.

-We find a boy at the docks Minsc recognizes and he runs inside a halfway house, we go inside and threaten an older boy to help us and the lil kid Billy finally spills he sold Boo to a pet store, bummer, he does take us there but by teleport. Turns out the pet store is either planer or just inside an unknown location bc it has no doors or windows and only he and Billy can go there; shitty thing to do to animals locking them up in the world's stuffiest room, and the guy is "kinda" nice about it and tells us he sold Boo to some rich girl in the noble quarter.

-He teleports us to the Government district and we start blasting (a kid walks up to us and find out he's not a lost kid but a messenger) and agree to help the kid in his home town of Umar Hills, nice another needed location checked off.

-Jeheira and Aerie both confide in me and Jeheira is happy I think about people that aren't with us and Aerie is mad I said we can't change the past.

We step 1 pace over and find Viconia, Drow (black) elf girl being burned at the stake bc she's a Drow by Klansman ("fanatics" okay it isn't hard to read subtext we know you're doing a White Savior thing get over yourselves) everyone in the party is mad I let her free and into the party and and kill the fanatics and the group moans and complains and wow this sure is handled well by the writers :)))))))))))))))))))))))) (gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

-Search the gov dist. and find Jan the halfling selling his Flashers (flashbangs sadly) and defend him from the shitty official, we have no room for him in the party right now though.

-We find the girl trying to teach Boo how to swim only she's like 20 something so she's a little I guess and she says she is a powerful mage and will give Boo back if we solve her riddles (riddle rhymes with little.) and they're silly things, finally she decides she likes my answers okay enough to give Boo back and leaves and the cowled wizards show up and give us a pass to cast magic in the city for getting rid of her.

-Get call over to the cowled wizards to find Vallygar bc of his cowled wizard killing. Been a LONG time since I saw him damn.

and all of this while avoiding Bodhi bc I wanna get ripped before I go save Imoen so it can be as fast as possible bc I hate that part of the game. Also lots of item twiddling and character stuff inbetween.
