Kiraan's breath catches in his chest. "They—Xiaohe and—Zofia?" He chuckles nervously. Out of everything he had prepared for, this question alone catches him off guard like a right hook to the nose. "They're my friends. Or, well, they're more than that—not in that way! Just..." Oh, he's going to toss himself off the nearest cliff face. "They've saved my life in more ways than one," Kiraan decides after a long moment. "They're my family, and whether they consider me apart of theirs is up to them, but to me? Yeah." He fiddles with his thumbs, hunching over with the weight of the next words that slip through his lips, quiet and barely there: "What else would they be?"

xiaohe:

Xiaohe, unfortunately, cannot hide the way his fingers grip the hem of his robe tighter. "What are they to you," he retorts with a hiss. "What they are to me is none of your concern, but they are mine as I am theirs. Do not cross a line you'll regret."

zofia:

Zofia hums, smiling to herself. She's relaxed against the chair of the inn with her arms pillowed behind her head, leaning back enough to have it tilt. "A loaded question," she comments lightly, "so I assume you aren't asking just for fun. Though you could be, true, but I sincerely doubt it. "Kiraan and Xiaohe are crew, whether they like it or not. They're the type of people I would trust to have my back in the worst and best of fights. Whatever happens, they can hold my life in their hands, and I would be pleased with whatever the outcome. Do with that information as you wish." And with that, Zofia sips on her mug of beer with nothing short of a grin.

kiraan:

"Family, I hope. Or something close to it." Kiraan scratches the back of his head sheepishly. "I mean, I feel like it'd be a bit awkward if not, but, well—beggars can't be choosers, yeah? I'd be happy with whatever happens." He frowns. "Well, mostly with whatever happens, that is."

xiaohe:

Xiaohe narrows his eyes. "Did I not just answer this? I'm theirs as they are mine. I thought that was simple," he grumbles. "I suppose not."

zofia:

Zofia raises her cup in a mock toast. "An annoyance, I'm sure, but hopefully a friend as well," she laughs.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Kiraan suddenly grimaces, hand lightly touching his throat. "Unfortunately we're going to have to cut this short: I'm feeling sick all of a sudden. xiaohe:

"Who are you again?" Xiaohe asks darkly. "Because I'm quite certain that's none of your business."

zofia:

Zofia leans forward, eyes sparkling with mirth as the gold clasps in her locs clink together as if sharing a song. "Fuck off."
