The last ronin doesn’t bow—he flickers.
A cyber-samurai stands defiant, his neon blade cutting through the dark. Below him, something older than code stirs.
♻️ Reblog if you’d join his rebellion!

I have started (re)reading Neuromancer.
Written in 1983, published in 1984... It's funny how much the early setting (Chiba City) reminds me of Blade Runner. Was BR also drawing from something else (not as well known?), or did Gibson just see BR ten times in theaters and say, "Bingo – our story beings in Blade Runner FutureJapan" ? Or was he just poking around really squalid parts of Vancouver?

“The firm [ZMP] says that by 2020, it hopes to have driverless taxis in use that can transport customers from Haneda Airport or Tokyo Station to Olympic venues. Company officials say they will continue testing to develop the technology as quickly as possible.”
A number of regional areas with growing elderly populations and limited bus services are also keen to trial driverless shuttles.
Driverless cars may also assist with personnel shortages: “Hinomaru Kotsu is a taxi company in Tokyo working with a firm that developed the technology for the latest test. It says the average age of its drivers is nearly 60, and that about 100 of its 1,400 drivers are 70 or older.”
