Fuches is my fav character because he's so... just so much fun. Like he's so fucking funny but also almost entirely soulless but by no means emotionless. The dude is akin to a jester.

Honestly he reminds me a lot of Saul Goodman in how he talks to people. Characters seem put off by him AND YET with that he still has this strange charisma where he actually can talk himself out of life or death situations and land himself a profitable deal off it as well.

His moral compass is so weak but not entirely gone. He'll comment how it's fucked up or sad if he thinks Barry has killed a kid, or thinking Barry is dead - he'll genuinely feel sad and empathise for a moment, but the next second is like ANYWAYYYY time to move on. He'll literally tell Barry he needs to kill a child - behaviour of a psychopath and someone that you'd imagine as entirely cold and void of emotion, and yet Fuches is still allowed to have a vast emotional range.

There's also this interesting possessiveness to Barry, which yeah can be VERY fond, but other times his characterisation and relationship with Barry reminds me of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Jesse can't walk away from Walter and live a healthy life or just leave Walter behind because he's toxic, Fuches can't allow Barry to leave him behind under any circumstance, and he definitely can't allow Barry to feel like he has the power in their relationship. Initially he'd talk himself back into Barry's life, but at this point, despite the fondness he has for Barry, he'd also have Barry killed than let him leave him behind and move on. He HAS to be the person that Barry is entirely reliant on. He HAS to be the only one that sees Barry for who he really is and be the only one who accepts him as that awful person. He wants to ruin his life and have Barry entirely dependent on him and him alone. I'd also say he's vengeful like Walter too and is smart about his ways of revenge - the thing is tho, I can enjoy Fuches in Barry cos the dude is comedy relief and leans into being a clown, whereas Walter is framed as being badass for his abusive fucked behaviour.

Also I just adore cockroach characters. Ones that are almost finding themselves at close calls for their lives, and yet they always manage to live.

Fuches' intelligence is highly underrated as well and he is consistently underestimated by surrounding characters. Not only is he a skilled manipulator, but he is intelligent in he knows what needs to be done to succeed and he can scheme well. I just.... he's just such a fantastic character I love him.

ranking my favorite characters about random shit part 2

ranking my favorite characters (clarke griffin, dean winchester, fox mulder, rose tyler, newt, kaz brekker, samwise gamgee, charles xavier, bill denbrough, lord asriel, steve rogers, scott mccall, anna milton and barry berkman) about random shit. this is entirely self-indulgent

PART 2 : how many allies do they have/how powerful are their allies. basically how screwed they’d be if they had to rely on their allies to survive

1- DEAN WINCHESTER

yeah believe it or not im putting him before charles or steve. listen, listen; dean just. does this thing. in which he’ll get pretty much anyone on his side after like two conversations. ESPECIALLY incredibly powerful supernatural creatures. i mean he’s got sam, aka the second best hunter on earth, and jack, literally GOD, on his side; then obviously the dean winchester simp squad, castiel, a seraph and commander of garrisons who can get heaven to fight for him; benny, a vampire; crowley, a powerful crossroad demon and the king of hell; amara, literally THE DARKNESS HERSELF, god’s SISTER; and then there’s just SO many others who will fight for him for diverse reasons, rowena, eileen, claire, jody, donna, kaia, mary, anna, gabriel, DEATH HIMSELF was his bitch before billie, then ketch charlie kevin, he’s just got so many allies and so many are some of the most powerful creatures in the universe. i mean, jack, amara and gabriel alone are three of the most powerful beings who have ever existed, as well as billie and the other archangels but all of them are dead, and chuck but he’s also dead and even he would be on dean’s side since dean is his favorite and if it’s an actual life-threatening situation chuck would want the show to keep going. so yeah dean winchester’s got the biggest defense squad imaginable and honestly? good for him, he deserves it

2- CHARLES XAVIER

do i even have to say it? outside of his ability to. you know. literally control minds, he’s also a leader who inspires loyalty and trust, and he’s got all the x-men fighting for him, including jean and logan - and even if we’re being honest some of the brotherhood, i mean especially in the first class timeline, erik and raven would absolutely be on his side. he’s got some of the most powerful mutants of all time ready to fight for his life

3- STEVE ROGERS

I mean he’s the leader of the avengers, man. have you seen the avengers assemble scene? they were fighting against thanos there but don’t try to tell me all of them wouldn’t fight for him. he’s got the falcon, black widow and the winter soldier on his side as well as the SCARLET WITCH, CAPTAIN MARVEL, THOR, do i need to keep going. he’s got a huge reputation and everyone knows and trusts him. and as we can also see in all his movies he inspires loyalty and devotion easily so even with people he doesn’t know he can get himself a loyal army in one well-delivered speech à la captain america

4- KAZ BREKKER

while most of the people on this list (steve, scott, charles, dean, bill, newt, anna) are born leaders who inspire trust and loyalty, kaz is just. really good at blackmail and insanely smart and cruel. and he’s got an insanely scary reputation too. he’s got the crows on his side no matter what, so an amazing spy, the best sharpshooter in ketterdam, a grisha who survived parem, an ex-drüskelle, and a demolition expert; as well as now the entirety of the dregs and inej’s crew, probably. plus, he most likely has leverage on the entirety of ketterdam and more. if he got in real trouble he could probably dig out the years and years of blackmail he got stacked away and get himself allyships with anyone he wants. plus his allies are ruthless, diverse and all strategically selected

5- SCOTT MCCALL

he’s got his entire pack ready to jump to help him anytime. and really when you think about it his pack is so big and diverse, there’s all kinds of creatures/skills ready to help him, plus he’s a true alpha, any werewolf would jump to his aid. I mean let’s look at his pack, stiles, allison, lydia, derek, malia, isaac, kira, hayden, mason, corey, and then of course stilinski, deaton, melissa, chris and peter, i mean even theo... he’s got a huge pack who is extremely loyal to him and they’re all kinds of creatures too, he’s fine

6- ROSE TYLER

everyone loves rose SO much. like obviously the doctor will give his life for her without hesitation but we also got jack, mickey, jackie, and even a bunch of people she met for like a couple episodes like donna or sarah jane immediately loved her. so i think she’s ultimately got some pretty solid allies especially with her father’s wealth and torchwood’s support in the alternate reality

7- CLARKE GRIFFIN

im putting her pretty down because on one hand he’s got very powerful/devoted allies on her side, like bellamy, lexa, roan, nyilah, finn, wells, etc (the key of getting your allies to be entirely devoted and loyal to you is to make at least half of them fall in love with you OR to top them so good they’ll literally put their lives down for you because of how good it was and clarke got that down to an art) BUT they’re also like. all dead. like almost all the people i just listed are dead so. yeah she’s kinda on her own in the end but if we look at early seasons clarke before literally all of them got murdered she had skaikru, azgeda and trikru pretty much in her pocket, so three of the biggest/most technically advanced armies on EARTH ready to fight for her.

8- LORD ASRIEL

now he doesn’t have actual allies per say but he can manage to get pretty much anyone on his side through charisma, threats and promises, so he ends up steadily getting massive support from witches, angels and many others in the books. he can pretty easily get himself a bunch of followers at his side ready to die for his cause.

9-SAMWISE GAMGEE

now listen he does have a pretty solid bunch of allies, aka the entire fellowship, who they, themselves, have a bunch of allies, who have a bunch of allies. i mean homeboi’s got ARAGORN and LEGOLAS and GANDALF on his side all ready to jump to save the tiny hobbits anytime so he’ll be fine.

10- BILL DENBROUGH

he’s immediately got the losers on his side, which is a win because they’re stubborn and annoying enough that they defeated an alien demonic clown. plus they’re quite literally assembled by a divinity to destroy a demon, so they’re the perfect team to kick ass and they’ll risk their lives for each other. plus he’s got a fanbase! people read his books and watch his movies. meaning he’s probably got a pretty big part of stan twt ready to help?? idk man i just think he’ll be fine when it comes to allies

11- NEWT

he’s got the entire glade ready to jump to his aid pretty much at any time, i mean let’s be honest if there’s one person all the gladers would agree on defending it would be.. ok it would be chuck bc he’s a CHILD but otherwise it’d be newt. plus he’s alby’s second in command and even gally likes him and respects him more than he likes and respects most people, which isnt much but hey kudos for the effort. anywho yeah the entire glade would defend him i think

12- ANNA MILTON

she would’ve once had the entirety of heaven at her commands ready to smite anyone who comes close to her but now that she fell and rebelled they all want her dead so. i mean i wish i could say cas would help her but after he betrayed her im not so sure? and the winchesters well idk either, maybe, maybe not, depends whether or not the entire trying-to-kill-sam ordeal happened. gabriel might help her? idk where to put her because i don’t KNOW if cas, dean, gabriel or the angels would help her but if any of them did then even one of these is a pretty solid backup so. idk man

13- FOX MULDER

im only on season 4 but as far as i can see he’s got only scully. which is pretty solid backup, she can kick ass, but still. i guess it’s one of the downsides of everyone thinking you’re batshit insane and having the entire government out to get you because they all LOATHE YOUR GUTS SO MUCH

14- BARRY BERKMAN

I mean dude. he pretty much kills all his friends. like he could ask for chris’s help but umm well he killed him, if he’s in a bad situation oh great he’s got a friend at the police except NO he murdered her. what’s that? fuches? no barry’s literally trying to murder him as of now. sally wouldn’t help him at all. cousineau just found out barry murdered his gf. at MOST he can hope that noho hank will help but i mean he’s not much help tbh i love the guy but he’s kinda useless<3

Change (Barry Berkman Imagine)

A/N: Hey y’all! This is the second of 3 Barry x teen!daughter fics I have planned, they all kind of build off of each other as it leads into the season 2 finale rampage. I hope you enjoy this short and sweet fluff drabble because after this I’m going to do something bad...

“So how was your day at school?”

You and your father are in the middle of eating dinner. Barry didn’t have acting class or a shift at Lululemon today, so he had time to make a proper meal. He loves when he gets the chance to cook dinner for you. Barry isn’t a gourmet chef or anything, but cooking for his kid makes him feel like a real dad.

You liked it too. Growing up in foster care, sometimes you didn’t know when your next meal would be. It was nice knowing there was someone out there that actually cared if you ate. Just a few months ago, neither of you ever expected you’d be part of a quiet family dinner like this. It made you both feel normal.

"I got an A-minus on my History test! I think I should've gotten an A, but I got some points knocked off in the essay section because I brought up white privilege," you shrug, "Like ok boomer, keep living in denial."

Barry chuckles and gives you a small smile. Besides being street smart, you're book smart too. He doesn't know where you got that. You're certainly much more intelligent and thoughtful than he was at your age.

“So what about you? How was your day?” you ask while picking up your glass of water.

"Well I drove Sally to a meeting at her agency and got an audition," Barry tells you.

"Are you serious? For what?" you excitedly ask.

"Some movie about lifeguards. If I get the role, I play one of the lifeguards," your father nods.

"That's amazing, dad!" your entire face lights up.

“Thanks, kid,” Barry smiles.

"How did Sally react when you told her?" you raise an eyebrow.

"Sally was fine," he replies.

"Mhmmmm," you nod, unconvinced.

"So how much more homework do you have tonight?"

"I already finished it. But I actually want your help with something else. I need some info so I can complete the paperwork to legally change my last name to yours,” you explain.

"What?!" Barry's jaw drops a little.

You first mentioned it on Thanksgiving, but hadn’t brought it up again until now. When you first showed Barry the paperwork, you told him that you wouldn’t change your name until he left his old job behind for good. Barry didn’t know how serious you were about legally changing your name and didn’t push it after that night. He’d obviously love if you change your last name to his, but he wouldn’t be mad at you if you didn’t want to go through with it. You’re his daughter and whatever last name you have isn’t going to change that.

“What?” you purse your lips.

“It’s just… you really want to change your last name to mine?”

“Well yeah,” you say quietly, "I, uh, I told you I'd do it when you stopped hurting people. I think you've been in a really good place since you stood up to Fuches and finally left him... like we're both better off. And you're my dad, I want to honor that."

You were right, things have been different these past few weeks. Fuches had called Barry about a job right after he picked you up sick from school. It was time sensitive and Barry was forced to bring you along. He was relieved that you were asleep for most of it, but you got a big scare when you woke up and saw Fuches standing outside the car. Fuches tried talking to you and Barry confronted him as soon as he finished the hit. Finally telling off and leaving Fuches felt like a weight off of Barry's shoulders. Barry didn't want to be part of that life anymore and he wasn't going to let Fuches drag you into it too.

"Unless you don't want that. I can keep my mom's last name too that's fine it's just-" you begin before Barry interrupts.

"No! No, I want that," Barry reassures you.

“Really?”

“Of course,” Barry nods, “We’re family, we should have the same last name so everybody else knows that too…”

“We’ll be the Berkmans," you joke, "Keeping up with the Berkmans!"

"Berkman? Why not Block?" Barry asks.

"Your stage name?" you raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah," Barry takes a deep breath, "Berkman was the old me, but Block is who I am now and you're kind of part of that."

"Y/n Block?" you shake your head, "No, I prefer y/n Berkman. It flows better."

Barry sighs, unsure of what to say. When Barry moved to LA he took the stage name Barry Block because he wanted to be something more than a hitman. And in his mind he’s succeeded. He’s joined the acting class, started dating Sally and most importantly he started taking care of you. Now that Barry was done with the Fuches, he felt that he could leave behind all the bad that Berkman represented and finally become the person he wants to be.

You take notice of Barry's uneasiness. Barry usually tries to put on a strong face for you, but you knew that he was haunted by demons from his past. There were moments where you needed to reassure him that he wasn’t a bad person and you truly believed it. Barry had a troubled past but he was working towards creating a better future for the two of you. Your father took you in and gave you a home. You felt safe with him.

"I mean like I'm proud of Barry Block the actor for getting an audition, but Barry Berkman is my dad and I'm proud of him too," you say quietly, giving him an encouraging smile.

“Okay,” Barry returns the smile. He’s touched.

“Thanks dad! We can go over the paperwork after dinner,” you tell him.

“Y/n Berkman,” Barry nods, “You’re right, that does sound better.”

Cloak & Dagger - ‘Level Up’ Review

"My whole life has been about harnessing this special energy. Maybe I should have been less driven."

Cloak & Dagger ends its second season with...

Oh God, I don't even have the energy for a clever pre-credits bit. Let's just jump past the break and talk a little.

I hate feeling like this.

Look, I get that this is a television show, and 'the season finale of a TV show I like was disappointing to me' is as close to the definition of a first world problem as you're likely to get. But, dammit, I love these characters and I love this show. And they are capable of so much better than what we got in this one.

It might be more accurate to say that they're capable of doing 'more' than this, as opposed to 'better', because what they actually did here is almost entirely good, with one significant exception. The failings of this episode almost entirely involve what it didn't do, rather than what it does.

And no, I'm not talking about plot points I personally wanted them to develop, or character developments that I wish had been different. I'm talking about something more fundamental to storytelling. Specifically, they didn't take the time to set up most of the plot mechanics that their story was relying on this week.

It's frustrating, because they simultaneously prove here that they're both capable of seeding both themes and plot mechanics into earlier episodes and paying them off later. The payoffs of the dark dimension pennies that they established half a season ago was entirely satisfying. Ditto the mirrors in the evil mall. They were established clearly as a choice between alternate self images ages ago when Tandy first saw them, and here they're the final visual key to Tandy and Ty accepting their identity as the heroes named Cloak and Dagger. That's great stuff. That's beautiful storytelling handled entirely through visual symbols. And the setup and payoff in each case were handled beautifully over the season.

Which makes it all the more frustrating that they didn't bother establishing so many of the plot devices that this episode was entirely riding on. What, exactly were the black clad, vaguely SWAT-team figures that Mayhem was fighting? We have no idea. They're apparently solid, since Mayhem can kick them, and for some reason they have actual functioning grenades, despite the many questions that raises as to how 'real' they are exactly as individuals. Evita gives them a handwave explanation as 'the things that a god would send to stop us', but that's no explanation at all. Particularly when they're mixing visual cues as to 'manifestations of the guilt felt by the person fighting them' (Hello, Fuchs), and 'numberless and faceless swarm brought forth from the dark gods.' No, in the end, what they are is 'something menacing for Evita and Mayhem to fight' while they intercut to Ty and Tandy furthering the actual emotional plot-core that the writers are interested in. That rings hollow as you watch it, because it fundamentally is hollow.

Similarly, we absolutely needed a clear answer about Andre/D'Spayre's domain. Is it an actual, physical place, or is it an abstract place of consciousness? Because they're playing it both ways and it's hurting the story they want to tell. The people that Andre is capturing through his trumpet of despair, and while I say that in a joking way it's a fantastic decision as a storytelling device, all physically disappear. We get that absolutely confirmed in the opening bank robbery montage, which again was exquisitely done. Bank robber and pursuing officer both vanish and appear in Andre's jazz club domain. So, that would indicate that it's a physical space that their bodies have moved to inter-dimensionally. But Andre's body is still laying on the stage in our dimension in an amazingly framed shot with his body over draped crimson fabric which made a thousand DPs feel tingly inside as they watched it. Ty and Tandy seem to have physically entered the nightclub after - ahem - entering Ty. But then they add a layer on top of that in which the people who are, apparently, physically inside Andre (again, ahem...) are also in a despair induced dreamstate inside that setting. Ty and Tandy bounce around through various despair hallucinations - at least they visually coded as hallucinations, but are occasionally treated as physical reality.

You see where I'm going with this. It's all incredibly muddy and could have been cleared up so much by simply establishing the rules right at the outset. 'This is physical space', they could have established, 'this is dream'. That would have solved about half of the problems this episode had. They could even have done it earlier in the season so that we didn't have to waste time with it here. But they didn't, and that created a problem in this one.

There is, of course, always the chance that they thought that they'd established this clearly enough by implications here and there, and it can't be disputed that there are clues scattered here and there throughout the season. But I feel like I'm a reasonably savvy viewer, and I watched every episode of the season multiple times. Sober, even. And I was still unclear about what the rules were at any given time.

Lastly, and I promise I have some positives coming up, this episode suffered from repeatedly kicking the legs out from under its own structure. Act one was the setup of Ty and Tandy getting into the Dark Dimension, whatever its rules are. Act two was them first fighting their own demons; Ty his driving need to live 'perfectly' and Tandy her inability to get past the knowledge of her father's abuse, and then them defending one another from the things that drive them to despair. Act three was them coming out of that and finally defeating Andre.

That's a solid structure to build on, and the message that the key to fighting despair is to have friends that will go on at great length about how awesome you are isn't the worst message for kids to hear. Particularly as the ancillary message is, 'absolutely stand up for your friends and tell them how awesome they are when they're giving in to despair.' The problem is that every time the basic setup changes the show goes out of its way to tell us that the previous segment was a waste of our time.

Ty and Tandy switch fight so that they can stand up for one another, and that's great. Then D'Spayre shows up and basically says, 'that's over, back to fighting your own demons.' and so they do. The status quo of ten minutes earlier is just re-established, sorry for wasting your time. Then, after they stand up to their own demons, D'Spayre says, 'OK, it's time for the real fight', which is essentially telling the audience, 'everything for the last twenty minutes didn't matter and was again a total waste of your time.'

That's a bad thing to tell your audience.

Like the earlier points, it's so entirely fixable. The only change needed to fix the first point would have been for Ty and Tandy to have independently chose of their own accord to go back to fighting their own demons because they were stronger for having heard the support they'd gotten from one another. Then it would have been character growth instead of just a dismissal of the previous five minutes of screen time. Similarly, if D'Spayre had acknowledged their escape from the despair illusion as a victory for them, or even been surprised by it, it would have read as part of their journey instead of just a way to negate the previous twenty minutes.

So. All that established, let's talk about the good stuff from both this and season two as a whole, because there was a lot of good in both.

- The way they used the metaphor of music throughout the season was inspired, and consistently paid off over and over again.

- The bait and switch when they made us think Mayhem would be the villain of the season and then substituted D'Spayre was ingenious and very well handled.

- Ending the season with Ty and Tandy as 'runaways' on a bus felt profoundly right on every level.

- Brooklyn McLinn gave a wonderful performance as both Andre and D'Spayre. I never saw him coming as a villain even after Lia was revealed to be a baddie, and any man who an make playing the trumpet seem viscerally aggressive is a force to be reckoned with.

- The image of Tandy jumping out of Cloak's darkness while hurling light is something I've waited my whole life to see and I was not disappointed. I rewound that scene at least five times.

(Additional) Bits and Pieces:

- Evita got short shrift. They really rushed her breaking things off with Ty in order to facilitate Ty and Tandy heading off to a possibly romantic relationship. We never even got to see the scene where they dealt with the fallout from her marrying a Loa and getting angry with Ty for reasons I'm not entirely clear about.

- That said, Noelle Renee Bercy did a great job here with the one plot point that was just irredeemably stupid. There was absolutely no real justification for her having to keep a candle lit in order to ensure that Ty and Tandy could come back from... the dark dimension which Ty has absolute control over making doorways to and from. She was an egregiously shoehorned ticking clock that was given no reason to be there beyond the script saying 'I have to keep this candle lit so that there's some dramatic tension.'

- That said, she still managed to keep her dignity while performing a role that was essentially 'speak earnest french to a candle for fifteen minutes of so.' That's not nothing.

- Did they just ditch all of the supporting characters? Delgado is apparently living in the church, which has become that apartment over the coffee shop in Smallville as far as its rotating occupancy. Ty may or may not be considered dead by the people of New Orleans, including his own parents - the episode declines to clarify anything on this point. Evita blows out that candle and leaves while carrying a sign that says 'my plot function is done and I'm leaving your story now. Tandy's mom helps her pack to leave, which was a nice detail, but we can only assume that leaves her free to recommit herself to pills and alcohol. Mina continues to specialize in anything the plot requires, including independently owning and operating a catscan machine for the use of friends. And Mayhem is hanging around New Orleans. They didn't say where Ty and Tandy were headed to investigate dead girls on a beach.

- Honestly, I've heard worse ideas than completely losing all the side characters for the next season and coming back to them later. That could be interesting.

- Mayhem apparently found Connors body, wherever Adina had left it, and strung it up in the police firing range, despite those places having constant staff on hand and CC television to capture her doing so.

- Lia has apparently been found guilty of something and been given STS (Sentenced to Serve) which is the official term for the folks picking up garbage by the side of the freeway. That's... not what they usually do in human trafficking cases...

- It's unfortunate how much they had to lean into the same iconography from the Avengers movies regarding people disappearing. I feel like they could have done more to differentiate it through the visuals. The interesting difference is that people didn't all disappear at once in this one.

- I have so many questions about the insect women bank robbers from the cold open.

- Bright light does in fact exacerbate migraines. That was a clever use of Tandy's powers.

- It was nice to confirm that the drug dealers are holding to their agreement with Ty.

- The fade to dark with Tandy alone on the bus is called a 'false out'.

Quotes:

Mayhem: "I’m having a bit of an identity crisis. See, I smooshed my two mouses together and oddly I feel like I know less about who I’m supposed to be if that makes any sense."

Ty: "Last time we talked she made it pretty clear she didn’t want anything to do with me." Tandy: "I think she meant romantically."

Evita: "Today we need an emperor, not the clothes."

Real Ty: "He killed Billy." Evil Ty: "Guess who’s still dead."

D'Spayre: "Technically, I’m everywhere. I thought you went to Catholic school, Mr. Johnson."

Tandy: "Switch Partners?" Ty: "If anyone can kick my ass it’s you."

No official word yet as to whether or not we're getting a Cloak & Dagger season Three. That said, what we got here works equally well as the end of this particular iteration of their story or the end of part one of the same. I sure am hoping it's the latter.

Two out of four threatening trumpet solos for the episode. Three for the season as a whole.

Killing

Send me “HC” + a word and I’ll write a headcanon about it.

his hands were shaking, breath was ragged and eyes were wide. the slender hands covered in blood, most of his body was while he knelt above the corpse that looked like it had been mauled by a wild animal. and maybe that was true in some ways. tears left clean paths on his cheeks as they washed the blood away. and part of him was surprised that he was still able to cry.he covers his face with the red hands again, shakes and weeps as his body finally breaks down. where the energy had come to kill the man that had tortured and killed him for a year he did not know, and it was gone.

he tensed when he felt karolis’ coat covering him, but was not able to complain as he got picked up by the other man. he had hardly the strength to move anymore, and it’d be a lie to say that he did not relax into those arms he knew so well. the hands that had saved him, and he finally closed his eyes.

❝ you were right… killing them right away sometimes IS the right choice… ❞

remi’s voice hoarse and quiet and maybe it was good that he could not see karolis’ pained expression.

❝ still, fuchs… killing is my job… only do it if there is no other choice. ❞

❝ m-hmm… ❞

it hardly sounded like remi would follow that plan from now on.

remi kills because he often sees no other choice. he thinks killing bad people is better than letting them go and do more harm.

in val royeaux there was an orphanage in the alienage, which remi would help to renovate and bring regularly gifts for the children there. they knew his face and loved him. he played with them also if he had time and even made sure there was a teacher to teach them to read and write.

the lord that captured him was a monster not even demons would be able to mimic. he sold the elves to tevinter slavers and burned the orphanage down and mocked remi a lot for it in that year.so remi thinks that his soft-heartedness had lead to that tragedy, that he should have killed said lord instead of stealing from him.

so from then, he got better with his blades and became a bard not only in cunning but also in fighting. he still does not enjoy killing, but he thinks it must be done.
