You know what I am doing for you?
Tumblr media
I found this gem on Amazon when I was trying to check when when the official Frozen Cookbook is being published. This unofficial one is from 2021 and, you guessed it, with that title - I couldn't resist.
So, there are three recipes related to the Isles, author clearly has no idea where are the Isles actually located (not *that* South!), but nevermind. We have:
1. The Southern Isles Coconut Pie
2. Hans' Soulmate Sandwiches
3. Chicken Cauliflower Rice Bowl from the Southern Isles
Did I try it? You bet I did.
Here is the coconut pie!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Now, since I am all about sharing, here comes a - slightly modified - recipe, given in grams!
Ingredients:
160 g melted butter
300 g coconut shreds
320 g canned, crushed pineapple with juice (bought in cans)
130 g or 34 pieces of marshmallows
Pinch of salt
250 g of 30% or 36% cream, whipped
70 g powdered sugar
9 g vanilla extract
Now:
Melt the butter and mix with 250 g coconut shreds, press it into your pie plate to make crust. Bake 10 mins in 180*C (325*F).
50 g of shreds toast lightly on dry pan and set aside
Drain crushed pineapple and mix 1/2 cup of juice and marshmallows in a saucepan. Cook until marshmallows melt.
Add pineapple, vanilla and salt. Let it cool in the fridge (I say 1 h).
Whip the cream while slowly adding powdered sugar. Remember, the cream must be cool!
Once your pineapple mixture cools down, mix it with whipped cream and place on the crust.
Sprinkle with toasted coconut shreds.
Chill for minimum 2 hours but the whole night will be better. Serve cold!
Now, that is the only recipe I will give (as I said, it was a little modified in doing!), I hope it will give you an idea of what you can find inside. The quality of the book is... well, print-on-demand (bad paper, stock photos) but well, maybe it can serve us until 29.10.2024!
That being said - the pie is delicious!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...even if it sure as hell is not from the Southern Isles.
(but the Republic of Pirates can fill in for a patent!)

Part II Frozen canon-divergence post F2 / Moana (2016) crossover fanfiction Pairing: Kristanna Rated M for angst/hurt/comfort (see tags on AO3)
Thanks to my two absolute amazing beta-readers, @hiptoff and @reconciledviolence729!
After their visit to the Southern Isles, King Kristoff and Queen Anna have returned to Arendelle. A new quest will test their faith and courage as they face an unexpected fate….
Chapter 16/42
Anna shook her head inwardly and told herself to concentrate on the things that required her attention. Since they had returned from the Southern Isles, there had been many requests, matters to discuss with Council members, or dignitaries seeking audience. So, in the quiet hours of the evening, she found time to relax and let her mind wander to nice and pleasant things, like their discussion a few weeks ago, shortly after their return.

Happy Halloween!!!
I usually write something for Halloween, and despite my break from fanfic, I was trying to get something together for this year (y'all, it was going to be a Practical Magic AU!). Sigh. Instead here's some of the Halloween/Fall Frozen fics I have written. Artwork by @keeshya6 and @justfrozenthings , both for The Jakku Lantern. I have started something for Yule, so hopefully I can manifest it! My WIPs are also always on my mind, but sorry I still have a block on them. In the mean time, Happy Halloween, everyone! Hope you enjoy.
Halloween Fics
To Dye For (Kristanna, E)
Anna, an aspiring hair stylist, hopes to get to know her crush/co-worker Kristoff better when he asks her to dye his hair blue. Everything goes well until it doesn't.
The Jakku Lantern (Kristanna, T)
It’s Kristoff, his Mandalorian helmet, and Olaf the Pumpkin King, against Raggedy Anna and Elsa AKA Maleficent, in a pumpkin carving contest judged by Sandy Claws Sven. Will Mando get a happy ending, despite the helmet that just won't budge, in this alternate version of the charades scene from Frozen II?
The Headless Horseman, a Chilling Tale (Kristanna, T)
One Halloween night, Anna finally left her violent and controlling husband Hans and fled through the dark hedges, which were said to be haunted by a headless horseman in search of blood and heads, to get to her sister Elsa. While the headless horseman was only a legend, Anna's cruel husband was real. Will the horrors of the forest be worse than than the husband she left behind?
The Grandfather Clock (Kristanna, T)
There's a demonic presence in the house Anna has inherited from her parents, who died in unexplained circumstances. Determined to sell it and be rid of the burden, she's enlists the help of her ex-husband Hans and Honeymaren's paranormal investigation team, but she finds herself relying on the local sheriff's expertise instead.
When It Rains, It Pours Drabbles (Kristanna, T)
Doorman Kristoff has a run of bad luck when Anna, dressed as the Morton Salt Girl for her friend's Halloween party, walks into the building with a bluster of wind and a dripping wet umbrella. Is it Friday the 13th? Or is it just Anna?
Fall/American Thanksgiving Fics
Ginger Sweet Love (Kristanna, M)
Anna and Kristoff get a second chance to tell each other how they feel when Kristoff shows up unexpectedly at Anna’s Halloween/Friendsgiving party. Let's hope 17 years later isn't 17 years too late.
Uncertain Uncertainties (Kristanna, T)
After getting caught sneaking out of Hans' dorm room, Anna gets stuck helping her folks out at the reenactment of the first Harvest Day at the Olde Arendelle Historic Village instead of spending it with her friends. She's happy enough to play dress up and help out until she gets stuck on table setting duty with Hans' nerdy roommate Kristoff, the guy who ratted her out.
Iduna's Apple (Kristanna, T)
Kristoff had been giving Anna baskets of his best apples for her Harvest Day pies for years, but he was always too shy to express his affection in any other way. Everything changed, though, when Anna got a goat named Sven with a taste for apples.
To Be Continued (Kristanna, T)
Kristoff had less than a week left to finish building his company's float for the Arendelle Harvest Day Parade and he had everything planned out… until his boss Olaf insisted that his niece Anna help out.

Guide to my Rewrites (and other content)
I post a lot of things, and some of those things are rewrites. As such, I thought this would be a nice guide for fans of my rewrites in particular. I'm still adding new things! Lemme know what you think.
Alternate Takes (Disney)
These are projects that have the same characters and settings (for the most part), but different plot points. These particular alternate takes suggest ideas that would've made me enjoy the movie more (or at all) and aren't a fanfic so much as bullet points with pictures.
Aida
Pocahontas
Hercules
The Princess and the Frog
Tangled
Frozen
Big Hero 6
Moana
Frozen 2
Raya and the Last Dragon
Encanto
Strange World
Wish (Note: working on a full-length rewrite unrelated to the ideas used here)
I also did rewrites for two Dreamworks movies:
The Road to El Dorado
Sinbad
Reimagining Disney Movies
These are projects that take Disney's framework (ie a fairy tale) and create my own characters, plot, setting, and song titles for it.
The Snow Queen
Kingdom of the Sun
Rapunzel
Reimagining Disney eras
These posts are designed based on what if Disney eras made different decisions (either based on my own ideas or rejected concepts) for their films. Note: I made the revival post before the renaissance and post-renaissance posts, so they kind of flow in different continuities. I also wanted to include future ideas for Disney's next era. These posts also work independent of my "Alternate Take" posts.
Reimagining the Renaissance
Reimagining the Post-renaissance
Reimagining the Revival era
Plotting out the Reinvention era
Marvel
Not quite as detailed as my other rewrites, but I thought I'd include them.
Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness
Thor: Love and Thunder
X-Men (Because they have more content than my other Marvel things)
This pretty much just includes my rewrites.
X-Men: Evolution--New roster, Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Roster (Timeskip), Season 4, and Season 5 (I did a poll months ago, and maybe I'll do a post brainstorming a Marauders spinoff).
Wolverine & the X-Men--New Roster, Season 1
Fox's X-Men films (I may remake this)--Part I (First 3 films) and Part II (Phoenix, NM, and Dark Phoenix)
Extensive rewrites
TV shows that I've remade episode-for--episode, perhaps removing and adding some as I see fit.
Miraculous Ladybug--Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Season 4 (currently working on Season 5; been dragging my feet with that!)
Anime as comic books
Yes, this is a topic. I remember when I was in this headspace, and it was really fun. I basically reimagined what if popular anime had been created as superhero comic books that golden or silver age.
Dragon Ball
Naruto
Anime rewrites
Black Butler
Naruto: Part I
High Card: Season 1
Video Game Rewrites
These aren't quite as detailed as my usual rewrites.
Bayonetta
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Fire Emblem: Fates
Fire Emblem: 3 Houses
Kingdom Hearts
Hogwarts Mystery (MAYBE; ongoing internal discussion)
My OCs
This section covers my original characters for a few fandoms. Thinking of making OCs for books/anime/comics, but I do not have the confidence that I know the universe(s) well enough.
Fictif
The Arcana
Hogwarts Legacy
Baldur's Gate 3
Mood Boards
Just something I've made for fun to inspire others! Not an expert on making them, but it was still something I wanted to do.
My Wish rewrite (temporary)
Disney's Swan Lake
Disney's Hansel & Gretel
Disney's Rumpelstiltskin
Disney's Red Riding Hood
Sub-Saharan Disney musical
Disney Superhero Film
Japanese Disney musical
Actors who could play Disney villains
Choices: Stories You Play
REALLY into this game for a period--but it started to get awful when "Witness" came into play. Here's a list of reviews (which I've stopped doing) as well as concepts for new books (originally on Reddit before I got banned).
"Before I Say I Do"
"Celebrity Status"
"Summoned to Court"
"Arkikara"
"Fairy Godparent"
"Hierarchy: Scheming University"
"Willow Falls"
"Late at Night"
"Spellcaster"
"Four"
"America's Most Eligible" (Review)
"Desire & Decorum" (Review)
"High School Story" (Review)
"Rules of Engagement" (Review)
"The Freshman" (Review)
"Queen B" (Review)

HAPPY 10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY to FROZEN
Tumblr media
I made another edit too and you can decide which you like more.
Tumblr media
How it all began for me...
"Addicted to Frozen", that's the subtitle of my Tumblr blog since I created it in February 2019 and thus joined the international fandom for the first time. However, it took me a while to decide to do this, mainly because of the language barrier. In the end, the first teaser trailer for Frozen II was the deciding factor.
However, my addiction to the Frozen franchise started earlier, but only on Christmas Eve 2016, when I was visiting my sister and I was supposed to choose the films for the evening while she cooked dinner for us.
I can still remember, as if it was only yesterday, zapping around on the tiny TV and getting stuck on the first scene with the ice harvesters from Frozen. Something had almost magically drawn me in and when the story with the two little sisters Anna and Elsa developed further and she sang "Do you wanna build a snowman?", I was in love with the film. Since then, not a single day has gone by without me thinking about the movie, first buying the DVD and then a lot of posters. I was on Pinterest every day and also searched for fan art there. At this time, I also started collecting merchandise for the movie and have now built up one of the biggest collections. In 2018, a picture came into circulation that I later searched for everywhere and tried to find out the source. It showed Anna and Elsa in a previously unknown new outfit in a forest.
A few months later, the bombshell dropped with the release of the teaser trailer for Frozen II. The hype was born and it was simply indescribable what was happening on Tumblr. There were so many posts every minute that I couldn't keep up with it all. There was wild speculation and I published my very first two posts on Tumblr with the title "The Disney FROZEN II Teaser Trailer Mania". Ever since that trailer, I was absolutely hooked on Frozen! I couldn't help myself.
After that, I reblogged for all I was worth, created my first edits and started writing my first fanfic. However, as a novice writer, I was still too clueless and made a lot of mistakes (this only changed with the second fanfic, years later). Over time, I got to know a lot of fans, signed up on other social media platforms and my love for the Frozen movies remains unbroken to this day.
I hope this hype starts again with Frozen III and IV, because I really miss those times in fandom.
Here are some brand new pics of my collection including all the Frozen II stuff:

Behind the scenes of „The Broken Bridge“
Warning: this is going to be a very long text, starting with a little personal analysis of Frozen II, but I want you to understand what ultimately motivated me to write "The Broken Bridge" and what was actually behind it.
If the following is too long for you, you can skip straight to the end, to a special invitation for my most loyal readers. But if you want to read on ... who knows, maybe I can give you some motivation to write your own fanfic, or I can give you some inspiration to keep writing and never give up. Let's start now ...
When I published my very first idea about a sequel to Frozen II on my main blog as a ficlet or prologue on May 24th 2020, I had no intention of writing this fanfic myself at first. Instead, I asked the fandom who of the experienced writers would like to do it and later wrote additional thoughts about it. Below is a list of links to my main blog and the beginnings:
Link 1 , Link 2 , Link 3 , Link 4 , Link 5 , Link 6 , Link 7 Link 8 , Link 9 , Link 10
At that time I didn't have a title for it either and simply called it "Frozen III plot / fanfic" or "frozen au". But none of the fanfic writers jumped at it, despite 67 likes including many comments. A few days later I had a discussion with one of my favourite writers on Tumblr, telling him that I was hesitant to continue writing because I just thought I was a bad writer at the time and also because of doubts about my English skills. I received lots of tips and words of encouragement from him and the writing duo.
Nevertheless, I was on the verge of giving up after publishing only 2 chapters. It wasn't until June 2nd that I put my third chapter online, but still as an F3 plot idea and without a title. However, once I found my beta reader (he had contacted me anonymously on Tumblr), I continued until chapter 11 for the time being, until the end of July 2020, when I stopped publishing on my main blog due to a lack of comments and likes. At that point, I was disappointed with the response and was about to give up.
It's no easy feat to convincingly and believably expand the world of Disney's Frozen II in such a way that you're drawn in from the very beginning — just like in the film — and can literally immerse yourself in an epic storyline that keeps you gripped until the very end. But not to the point where you drown in it (pun intended), of course, but that takes a lot of work and ingenuity.Frozen II had many wonderful highlights, but also its flaws, which ultimately divided the fan community — literally! However, one thing fascinated me from the start and that was the introduction of a completely new world in the Frozen universe, which is the main part of my plot in the novel. It's about the Northuldra (inspired by the real Sámi people) who live in an enchanted forest, along with the four nature spirits who are part of a greater whole: the deity Ahtohallan, guardian of all memories and source of Elsa's ice magic.
But this is precisely where the film's weaknesses lie, because unfortunately these remarkable people were given far too little time on the big screen, when they deserved so much more and an incredibly multi-layered potential would have opened up for Disney. As everyone knows, the team had negotiated with the Sámi Parliament in advance and received authorisation — on the condition that the Sámi were portrayed respectfully.
Apparently, however, much of this was too complicated for Disney to realise, especially when it came to customs, beliefs and myths. Ahtohallan in the film, for example, was something that was originally planned quite differently and — as far as I could tell from the concept art book "The Art of Frozen II" and the D+ documentary — was originally linked to Sámi shamanism, specifically their Noaidi.
The deleted scene of the originally planned prologue, for example, showed us a shapeshifter with reindeer antlers. This was presumably an old Sámi myth and the saga of a figure called Myandash. You can read this story online.
(Note: In my novel, Myandash was the model for Kolgrimr's father and I called the human Northuldra wife of the shapeshifter Gyda and made her the evil Noaidi).
What remained
The fact is that the Northuldra and their great role model, the Sámi, were very well received in the Frozen fandom, as can be seen from the countless fanart images, fanfictions, discussions and even the Elsamaren Ship (Elsa + Honeymaren). And not only there, the Sámi themselves also took a liking to Frozen II.
All of this and the actual, ultimately somewhat disappointing realisation in the film was hardly surprising to me, as this is, after all, a Disney film with a target audience that ranges from young children to the age of puberty, but at most to teenagers under the age of 18. What can you expect in terms of an in-depth plot?
This applies not only to the style, with sidekicks such as Olaf, Sven, Bruni and Gale, but above all to the plot and duration of the feature film. Many in fandom later said that Frozen II was told far too hastily and left far too many questions unanswered, especially about the main aspect, Elsa's powers. However, the entire Frozen franchise is all about Elsa's magic — right from the start. At its core, this is what has always fascinated fans about it and, of course, the characters of the royal sisters themselves.
It's a great pity that Disney didn't appreciate the older cinema audience — especially the Frozen fans among them — when producing the second part, but instead behaved as if it were a completely new audience of children. In the meantime, ten years have passed since the first instalment, six of them after the first, so there were already many loyal fans in their twenties who expected more and hoped for answers — something that Disney has unfortunately failed to give us to this day. Admittedly, a completely different approach was originally planned — as you can see from the deleted scenes and from the documentary on Disney Plus — far darker, more serious and actually aimed at older fans, just as Jennifer Lee had once promised to us. But in the end, everything was decided at Disney from the highest level, over the heads of the filmmakers, and thrown overboard. The logic, seriousness and complexity of the plot fell by the wayside in favour of a very young audience, who — as you could hear in the documentary on D+ — were not old enough to understand the movie. No wonder, when you show the test screening to five to twelve-year-old children and expect them to leave the theatre enthusiastic and completely satisfied without any further questions. The original plan was probably just too demanding.
How often has it happened that even adults didn't immediately understand a film and instead pondered it for weeks afterwards? That's what makes a good film. But to reset everything to zero immediately after the first screening test, to completely discard the originally planned plot and to put the entire film team in a difficult position to just make the deadline for an extensive and elaborate production within just a few months? For a film that normally takes three years to produce? No! This makes no sense at all and is only due to the greed to earn as much as possible at the cinema box office. Never mind the plot, the main thing is to make it family-friendly! What a pity!
In addition, the vision of the film makers was ignored. Ultimately, it hurt everyone involved, especially Jennifer Lee, who shortly afterwards was no longer a director and is now only available in an advisory capacity for the planned sequels. Honestly, I would have thrown in the towel myself after such treatment, which, at least judging by her presence on Twitter, she actually did. Presumably mainly because of the hate speech from toxic circles of the fan community that she was constantly confronted with there because of the end of Frozen II. None of us fans know the real reasons though — one day her account there was simply deleted.
But enough with my opinion on the film.
My vision
We have now arrived at the reason why I wrote "The Broken Bridge" primarily for older Frozen fans, the novel is even partly aimed at an adult readership from 18 years upwards. There are scenes with explicit language, violence and sex scenes, simply because the plot required a realistic, logical approach. But each chapter is specially labelled, at least in the chapter overview, and the most violent LBGT scene is even linked to a separate 18+ blog. So no one gets to read that unless the reader specifically follows the link.
Of course you can't please everyone, as one reader in particular showed me with his behaviour, who had commented on every chapter so far, but suddenly stopped from the part with "18+ content" onwards, presumably for reasons of age. I'm really sorry about that! On the other hand, I received statements on various platforms from readers who made it clear to me that I had not only hit the mark, but that their tastes had been fully satisfied and that they were simply delighted (for data protection reasons, I won't mention any names below).
Reader statements
On Discord: "Oh...that Frozen 3, the broken bridge novel right? I've read it all and it was EPIC. Well done." On Twitter/X: "I've been following your Frozen 3 Fanfiction since the beginning, and I love that the story is really believable and totally follows the universe of the two films, and that it could very well work as a 3rd film...I can't wait to read the next part !!" (Note: this was at the end of the third part of the story, after my hiatus in the fandom) On reddit, as a recommendation to other fans: "Greetings, I started reading an amazing story about Queen Anna and her sister Elsa some months ago. It's a long but terrific story. Tbh, This level of work and details in the narration is worth to be considered a sequel to Frozen2." On Tumblr to chapter 81: "This is a beautiful, genuinely remarkable closing for such a novel. ..... I truly enjoyed reading about Anna's wedding. It was like watching a short that Disney Animation should have given it to the fans years ago!" On Tumblr to chapter 66: "Goodness...what a chapter! In my mind I was thrown back and forth between Star Wars vs Robin Hood style fights! Yeahhh Elsa off to the monoliths? Get her power back! Go girl!Brave Anna! And what a loss for the Arendelle side. War is always such an unnecessary way.... but then... they fought for justice! Well done!" On Tumblr to chapter 43: "I love how you connect your stories with few official books, love to see 'A Perfect Night' from Elsa's pov, it looks like an official frozen book"
...and many more great comments from you readers, which have really motivated me immensely and encouraged me to keep writing. Some days I just couldn't stop!
Admittedly, I love the concept of cliffhangers, something that many other fanfic writers avoid in order not to keep their readers in suspense. So: sorry, my dear readers, you couldn't wait for the story to continue next week. But it turned out that I was able to maintain and even increase the suspense from chapter to chapter in this way.
Speaking of plot ... in my novel there are up to ten different storylines that intertwine, making the story very complex and exciting, and there is something for every reader that he/she particularly likes or has looked for in vain elsewhere in the Frozen universe. But ultimately, there's no accounting for taste.
Some people seem to have only picked out specific chapters. Unfortunately, this means that the coherent overall picture of the story falls by the wayside and my vision of a sequel to Frozen II escapes them completely in this way. But it's hard to tell who of the many followers on my fanfic blog has even read all the chapters if I don't get any likes or comments on them. I can only guess.
However, I have to admit that the novel wasn't completely planned out. They say there are two different types of writers, those who meticulously plan every detail from start to finish (plotters) and those who just start writing and only have a rough idea of the plot (pantsers). I count myself among the latter and write from the gut. However, I imagine every scene as if I were watching it in the cinema — with all kinds of details and make lots of notes on new ideas. So there was some rough planning. Sometimes it was the case that my characters themselves dictated the plot, I just had to follow them.You may remember that I write in my native language, German, and only translate everything later. I use DeepL online for this and my English-speaking beta reader HeinrichVSA corrects it afterwards where necessary. But what you probably don't know is that I wrote every single chapter on my smartphone during long train journeys. Until I was completely satisfied, I read through what I'd written again and again in the days that followed, adding scenes, rephrasing phrases and correcting anything I didn't like.
A large part of the story also required a lot of research on the internet, about everything I don't know much or anything about. I wanted to describe everything as realistically as possible and get the facts right.
This was especially true when it came to the Sámi people in the 19th century: their customs and traditions, their shamanism and beliefs, burial rituals and folk beliefs, clothing, crafts and dwellings, everything about reindeer herding, bear hunting and also about skalastet, or stick fighting. Incidentally, the idea of fighting with the Rope-Dart for Honeymaren comes from Asia, so it was added by me, and works exactly as described. I know everything about traditional archery from my own experience and also a little about bow making and crossbows.
I also had to do a lot of research on sailing ships of the 18th and 19th centuries. It's a tricky subject to portray properly and convey a credible feeling for it. For me, the topics were not only ship types and rigging from this era, but also the hierarchy and crew types. Basically everything about sailing itself on board such large ships, changing of watch, typical speeds and distances that could be travelled per day and which terms and commands were usually given on deck and by whom.
Warfare eventually became a topic for me as well, something not mentioned anywhere in the Frozen universe so far. HeinrichVSA was able to help me enormously with his profound historical knowledge and I had to find out what of my ideas worked and what did not. In these chapters I used methods from different eras and settings, including Asia and Ancient Europe. Even topics such as illnesses and healing methods from this period were important for a coherent description and so much more, right up to Norwegian wedding customs and also about signs of pregnancy in the middle of the 19th century, when there were no tests.
So what started out as a small idea has developed over the years into an enormously complex project with huge challenges, and more and more characters have been added.
My OC’s (my own characters)
Various roles had to be filled in the course of the story and since — apart from in comics — hardly any characters are mentioned who fulfil important tasks in the castle or accompany "the gang" on their adventures, I had to invent them. The more relevant a character became, the more important it was to research a suitable name for them ... and there were more and more. Depending on whether it was for someone in the city or among the Northuldra, I drew inspiration from Norse or Sámi names. Often I even researched the deeper meaning of the name, which matched the character's nature as closely as possible.
Of course, I also used almost all the well-known characters from the Frozen books and comics that were more or less relevant for the interaction with the main characters or who enriched the ambience.
The places in the story
Arendelle or the Northuldra camp were not enough, as I quickly realised the deeper I delved into the story. For some areas there was no description in the Frozen universe and the available official maps didn't give much information either. I therefore analysed the movies again and again and also consulted the many comics to get an idea of where the action takes place and what it looks like, feels like or how difficult the terrain was. I made up the rest with the help of logic and real places. Unfortunately, Disney has never told us which real country Weselton, Corona, Vakretta, Snoob and the many others correspond to. But as soon as I was relatively sure of an approximate position on the world map, I was able to research the real conditions of this country.
Small statistics on “The Broken Bridge”
My image edits: 40 plus 5 poster, 2 letters, 2 newspaper articles, 1 self-made map Fanart: 4 (1 unpublished) Storyline: Prologue, 81 chapters in 5 parts, epilogue and acknowledgements totalling almost 437,000 words (excluding acknowledgements) (about 1000 pages)
Very first novel title: "The Only Star", inspired by a sentence Anna sang during "The Next Right Thing": "The only star that guided me was you." Of course, I had her close connection to Elsa in mind. I later discussed final title ideas for my novel with HeinrichVSA, and in the end we had 43 different titles to choose from, with the subtitle "A post Frozen II Novel". As far as I remember, @annaofthenorthernlights confirmed our previous favourite title 'The Broken Bridge', in reference to the 5th Spirit and the bridge that connected Anna in Arendelle and Elsa in the Enchanted Forest. That was the final start for the publication on my fanfic blog.
Commissioned fanart images by HARU (@xlayers): 19 (12 unpublished), all with the maximum image width of 800 pixels. Title ideas for the chapters: mostly HeinrichVSA came up with them while correcting the texts, but of course a few were also my own ideas. It was always difficult to find a good title because the storylines in the chapters often overlapped.
Characters: 16 original characters 15 characters from Frozen books and comics 38 OC's (own characters) 23 locations
Plot period: for the main part (without flashbacks): over a month, followed at the end by 2x three months in chapter 81 and a few more weeks in the epilogue Embedded YouTube music titles: 287 Reboot of the novel with final title (June 25, 2021) as an epic dark AU novel on the fanfic blog: June 19, 2021. originally planned for 1 year with 52+ chapters.
In the last two months since the Acknowledgements were published, I have been working on the preparations for AO3. I had to rewrite the first chapter (prologue) a bit to make it fit the following plot, corrected and formatted everything in detail again, made changes here and there in the chapters and wrote down the links for the pictures — plus prepared comments. I very much hope that in the end everything will be as I imagine and hope it will be!
~~~
Invitation
I would like to invite my most loyal readers, who regularly left me their wonderful comments on every chapter, to discuss with us — my beta reader HeinrichVSA and me — on my newly founded Discord server, ask questions, share ideas and much more. As you know, I wrote a question mark after the words "The End" at the end of the novel. Maybe you would like to participate in a possible sequel? Who knows ...
Just send me a short message as a DM on my fanfic blog and I'll reply with a Discord invite link for you.
Thank you so much again for sticking with me until the end!
Discussion around Frozen began to form it's own fandom, which really started taking off in 2014! People began to create online spaces to discuss the film and create fanworks inspired by it. All over the world, fans created hundreds of fanfics, fanarts, edits, and more! By this point, most of the world was aware of Frozen, as it had become a global phenomenon.
The soundtrack of Frozen became the No. 1 album in the United States by early January and remained at the top throughout the year. By March, Frozen had claimed the title of the highest grossing animated movie of all time, which it held until 2019 when it was replaced by Frozen II.
Let's see, what else...
Merch sales exploded, to the point that there was a nationwide shortage in the US. Frozen on Ice opened in September and immediately became Disney’s most popular ice show ever! The first half of Once Upon a Time Season 4 also premiered in September, bringing Elsa, Anna, old and new Frozen characters to Storybrooke. Halloween and Christmas was dominated by Frozen. 2014 was the year that Frozen truly started to blow up worldwide.
But for the fandom, this was only the beginning.
🍎💖🤷🏼‍♀️
Thank you for asking, @divinemissem13! ❤️
🍎 What's something you learned while researching for a fic?
I learned a ton about emergence from paralysis and/or coma-like conditions researching The Wounds, They Run Deep, But So Does the Healing, My Love, So Does the Healing (Christine Chapel/Christopher Pike, E) including that someone can be in a coma for decades, yet speak simple words or phrases almost immediately after emerging due to breathing keeping up the muscle tone of the vocal apparatus.
💖 Which of your fics is your pride and joy?
I cannot choose among my babies … but I’m proud of the Starfleet depicted in The Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy (Gen, T) and the play within established canon — including purposefully overriding it at times — of Youthful Exuberance (Some Kind of Love) (Pikeuna, E).
🤷‍♀️ What's a fic you didn't expect to be popular, but really took off?
I don’t know about “really took off,” but given the fic is for a rare pair who never met in canon, I got incredibly lucky as I posted Through Time and Space and Frozen Stars, Always, Always Hold My Hand (Kirsten Clancy/Katrina Cornwell, M) with lovely comments and kudos.
Thank you again for asking, @divinemissem13! ❤️
Welcome to the official blog of my gigantic Disney crossover fanfic!!
What is it, you may ask? Well, to put it simply, it's a crossover of every single Disney movie (and most shows) designed to answer the question of how would they all work as one story, and what would that story be?
Well, here's my (very long) attempt!
Starting off with Book 1: When You Wish Upon a Star, we focus on 4 main stories:
1. The Black Cauldron (re-write): Taran of Caer Dallben learns of the beauty and ugly nature of humanity in a war that holds the fate of magic.
2. Frozen Moon (Sequel crossover of Tangled and Frozen): Set after Frozen II and Tangled the Series, Cassandra goes on a journey of redemption when a secret force threatens the spirits of magic and the seasons.
3. Marcus and The Agents of D.I.S.N.E.Y in The Atlantis Complex (OC): In the 1960's, a young man named Marcus joins a secret organisation designed to protect magic. Alongside Jane Darling, he must solve a dispute between Atlantis and Atlantica.
4. Big Hero 7 (sequel): set after Big Hero 6: The Series, Hiro Hamada tries to fix the eternal loop of super heroism, but he has no idea what he's done...
Updates once a week when possible, but art and writing take time, so there will be plenty hiatuses.
I truly hope you enjoy, it's a labor of love I've worked on for years! I accept any asks and engagement (it really helps motivation too)!
This blog will mainly be used to: promote the story and notify of new chapters, show the art my sister makes for it, answer questions, reblog any and all art or posts about it (I know that's unlikely but let an author dream) and just serve as a hub for my passion project!
Thank you and enjoy the ride!
Finished Fic: Starvation Paradise
And it's done! You guys, this fic took me TWO AND A HALF YEARS but hey who's counting? 80,000 words of blood, sweat, and tears, and for the most part I mean those of the characters. As one reader put it, "If you enjoy near-constant suffering with copious amounts of character development and pining and the occasional sex scene in a cave or natural spring, this fic is for you."
I really ought to do something nice for Asami and Iroh after this.
Tumblr media
Title: Starvation Paradise Fandom: Avatar: Legend of Korra Summary: A drunken accident leaves General Iroh and Asami Sato stranded somewhere in the frozen north. The oasis they find is their salvation, but as long as winter lasts, it is also their prison. As hopes of rescue wither and die, they must use what they have to survive. Or not. Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Injuries, Mild Sexual Content, Animal Harm Characters: General Iroh II, Asami Sato, minor appearances of others Pairings: Iroh II/Asami Sato When I Started: This fic was originally started for the @avatar-rare-pair-ship-challenge prompt "Seasons" in April 2021. You know, yesterday. How I Lost My Shit: At one point I let this story get too big in my head and then got a bit paralyzed by the level of ambition. I also wasn't quite sure how I wanted to end it. Those factors, plus life and 115 other fanfics, put it on the back burner for far too long in spite of the fact that it's always been one of my favorites. How I Finished My Shit: IRL I'm extremely motivated by deadlines and the idea of disappointing other people. Getting an artist with a posting date and knowing they'd be left holding the bag if I didn't finish was incredibly helpful. I've also been cheered on by a few very loyal readers and friends (@myargalargan, @yellowsalt3 and @badlucksav in particular) without whom I'd almost certainly never have completed this story. Love you ladies. Finally, I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the @wipbigbang for giving me the structure and motivation to finish this fic, and to Doughrito Art for the beautiful cover art that to me perfectly captures the spirit of the story. Thank you!
Ok, so I am on a Discord server and we had a small event and we've decided to write little ficlets on the occassion, containing words "frozen", "hearts", "worth", "melting" and I've finally set up a new Ao3 account and couldn't stop myself from getting on an angst train, so here we go:
~ 1200 words, queen Anna being THE Queen Anna with Westergaards (she's to be feared) and also having a truly golden heart.
Prince Lars being himself.
Trolls being local head'n'heart helpers.
Love can see beyond
Part II Frozen canon-divergence post F2 / Moana (2016) crossover fanfiction Pairing: Kristanna Rated M for angst/hurt/comfort (see tags on AO3)
Thanks to my two absolute amazing beta-readers, @hiptoff and @reconciledviolence729!
A new journey begins...
Chapter 23 / 42
Anna curled up on her side, closed her eyes and smiled as she listened to the love song that was hers alone and would never leave this room. It was her own precious gift and when Kristoff began to strum the chords and sing, her heartbeat almost burned in her chest.
this beautiful fanart was created by the wonderful @lintushadow-art on commission for my prequel-fanfic "Love can see the good" (AO3, 2021)
Whumptober 2024, let's go!
In lieu of NaNoWriMo this year, I've decided to try out @whumptober with whichever of my fanfics or original fics seem to fit the prompts.
Since it's October already over here, I got to writing! I thought I would be doing pretty much all the prompts in Thedas (specifically Solavellan Hell, because ouch), but a scene from my unfinished KotOR II fic that I've had in my head for 10+ years jumped to mind and wouldn't let me go.
So, 3330 words later, here we are. The rest of the fanfic, Echoes of War, exists only on ff.net right now, but I really aught to use this as an excuse to move it over to AO3. It's a novelization of KotOR II, with some twists of my own, including the addition of my ever-present Old Republic OC, the produce freighter pilot, Kionee Rinnh.
This hasn't been edited beyond misspellings, and it will probably be edited to fit the rest of the scene once I get to this part of the fanfiction (eventually? It's been on haitus for several years now.).
Kionee gripped her blaster rifle, the handle already slick with sweat. What was she doing here, again, in a secret war? She was a pilot, not a soldier.
“This warlord seems to like droids as much as he likes Jedi,” Atton scoffed, kicking a discarded robotic limb that lay scattered where someone’s lightsaber had severed it. It skid screeching back down the corridor.
“Atton,” Mical scolded, “They’ll hear us.” Always reasonable. Always steady.
And yet.
Atton bristled visibly. “We just tore apart a unit of guard droids. If they don’t know we’re here already—“
Bryony stepped between them, shaking her head. Although her voice was stern, she smiled fondly at them both. “It’s not worth arguing over. Once Bao-Dur finishes slicing the security console, we’ll be able to slip past their defenses.”
“As much as I like tearing apart droids--,” Atton chuckled.
“Threat: Watch yourself, meatbag.”
Atton rolled his eyes, still grinning at Bryony. “Why do we keep that thing around? Anyway, yeah, I’ll take sneaking past any more of these traps any day.”
Although Mical said nothing, the fond smile he gave was a near mirror of Atton’s—minus the swagger. Their endless bickering, once again diffused by Bryony Thuvell’s gentle presence.
She had that effect on people.
“I’m in,” Bao-Dur reported softly.
Kionee swallowed. Her chest ached. She’d only known Mical for a few years. Bryony had known him for so much longer. That he admired her, a war hero and now his Jedi master, it was unavoidable. She was a pilot, not a general. Not a Jedi. Not as beautiful as Bryony.
“I’ll go scout up around the corner,” Kionee offered.
“Just give me a minute to turn the defenses to our advantage,” Bao-Dur said, more to himself than anyone.
No one seemed to take notice of her offer, but she couldn’t stand still here any longer. Raising her blaster to the ready like Carth had once taught her, Kionee turned away from Bryony’s shadow of admiration, and strode down the hallway.
Suddenly, Bao-Dur yelled, “No, wait, that’s—!”
Kionee swiveled her head back towards him, “What’s—?” and slammed into a blazing force field.
Kionee screamed.
Droids and turrets unfurled from the walls, ceiling, and every other surface.
The field held her, blazing like plasma, burning across her skin. Ceaseless screams as everything in her writhed against it—frozen and flaming from every nerve.
“Hold on, kid, I’ve almost got it!”
Whose voice?
Blasters screeched.
Lightsabers hissed.
“Kionee!”
And Kionee burned.
So hot, it burned cold. Choking. All-consuming.
It burned like—
“Kionee!” a cough. Her mother’s voice, thin, hoarse. “Kionee! Where are you baby?” Fire crackled all around. Hot pain wove up her legs, her arms. She coughed and coughed. Whimpered. To hoarse to wail. Or was she screaming already? A beam cracked, tumbled onto the pile. Her legs seared with pain. They existed. She could feel them again. Just fire. Her mother coughed again. Not far away now. More distantly. Desperate. “Kionee! Javan! Where are you?” Dad. “Mom,” she wheezed, “Daddy. Help me.” Another crash nearby. She coughed again. The air burned. Heavy. Hot. A figure, red and bubbling with fire staggered towards her and collapsed at her side. Kionee screamed again. “Kionee, baby, it’s me,” the monstrous woman spoke with the weak voice of her mother. It was her mom. No. No no no no. “Gad, we’re here!” Mom tried to yell, but it was a hoarse screech. To Kionee, “I’m going to get you out of here, baby.” Fire everywhere. Where is here? Mom tore at the pile of rubble pinning Kionee’s legs. A flicker of feeling beyond flames returned, and Kionee screamed again, voice tiny against the roar of the blaze around them. “I’ve got you free, we’re going to—“ coughs ripped away whatever Mom was going to say. Splinters and clatter, a blaze of light. “We’ve got you ma’am. We’ve got you, kid,” droid voices. Not her droid. Someone lifted her up. So much fire, so much pain—
Kionee dropped to the floor, and screamed again. Her shoulder, Her hips contacted unforgiving durasteel. Her right side throbbed from the impact.
But her left—so much fire, so much pain.
She tried to sit, to move, but it overwhelmed her senses. Around her—noise and bright movement. A fight?
“What—?” she tried, but surrendered to wails of pain. Tears streaked down her face, salt stinging raw skin.
“Kionee! Hang on!”
Mical.
She blinked away blurring tears for as long as she could will herself to stop crying.
He stood over her, bright cyan lightsaber whirling. Something shimmered around them.
She’d be okay.
Mical was like those firefighting droids.
He would make sure of it.
Kionee surrendered herself to crying at the writhing pain.
Mical will protect me.
First chapter of my Frozen II rewrite. I’ll leave links to AO3 : https://archiveofourown.org/works/52396078/chapters/132547186
And Fanfiction: https://m.fanfiction.net/s/14309034/1/A-Retelling-of-Frozen-II
I’ll post the story here too for anyone wanting to read on Tumblr:
Prologue:
As the snow-covered forest enveloped her, a young girl sprinted desperately with tears streaming down her face. Her voice echoed through the trees as she called out for her mother, seeking refuge from the unknown dangers that lurked around her. Adorned in a cloak bearing Arendelle's noble coat of arms, she pressed on.
Suddenly, her frantic footsteps came to a halt as distant shouts reached her ears. Fear gripped her heart, and she quickly sought cover behind a towering tree. Peering through the branches, her eyes widened with trepidation as she caught sight of fluttering Arendelle flags in the distance.
Amidst the wintry landscape, soldiers raced past her, their hands gripping swords and crossbows tightly. Among them, she spotted a pair locked in a tender embrace. "My love, it's becoming too perilous. Please, return to the safety of our camp." he implored, concern etched on his face.
With determination shining in her eyes, the woman responded, her voice filled with unwavering resolve. "Oh, come now, Mattias. What soldier doesn't fight for the home she loves?" Her words carried a fierce determination as she defied the dangers that lay ahead, sprinting off into the unknown.
In a panic, the girl's desperate whispers of "mother" filled the air as she turned to retreat. But her movement halted abruptly as her wide eyes locked onto a towering figure draped in a cloak of animal hides, adorned in furs from head to toe. With a finger pressed to his lips, he urged her to silence, his presence both mysterious and intriguing.
Together, they turned their attention towards the rustling sound in the trees, their hearts pounding in anticipation. And there, emerging from the shadows, came an army of Arendellian soldiers, marching steadily towards them. The girl's gaze flickered back to the man, only to find him vanished into thin air, leaving her bewildered and alone.
Suddenly, a firm grip seized her arm, yanking her back to reality. "What are you doing out here? You must return to camp!" Urgency laced the Arendellian soldier's words as he narrowly dodged an arrow that embedded itself into a nearby tree. Without hesitation, he disappeared into the chaos of the battle, swallowed by the fog and smoke.
The girl found herself once again alone, her heart racing as she sprinted and slid down a small hill. As she caught her breath, she glanced up and caught a glimpse of something soaring through the trees. Before she could get a clear look, the sound of voices reached her ears, causing her to instinctively seek cover.
"Stay low, my son," a commanding voice urged.
"Yes, father," came the obedient reply.
"Your majesty—" began the soldier, but his words were abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of a massive elk leaping out of the bushes. The majestic creature narrowly missed them as it bounded up a towering rock, its form transforming into that of a man adorned in an elk's skin.
"There you are." His eyes were fixed on the mysterious figure in the elk skin. With a sense of urgency, he turned to the solider at his side, and commanded, "Mattias, get the boy out of here."
"But, Your Majesty, my orders are to never leave your side." the soldier protested, his loyalty evident.
"I want my son to be safe." the king declared resolutely before dashing off.
"No!" cried the prince, his anguish echoing through the air.
"Come, Prince Agnarr, please." the soldier pleaded, swiftly scooping up the young prince. Without looking back, they fled in the opposite direction, the prince's anguished cries lingering in the air.
As the girl's eyes widened in disbelief, she witnessed the king charging forward, his sword held high, ready to strike at the mysterious figure. The clash of their blades filled the air as they traded blows, their movements swift and precise. Each strike reverberated with the intensity of their conflict.
But then, in a stunning turn of events, the king and the figure were sent hurtling off the very edge of the cliff. It was as if fate had intervened, guiding their battle towards this precipice of danger. The girl's heart raced as she watched them disappear into the abyss below.
Suddenly, an incredible surge of power erupted from the depths of the forest. It was a force so immense that it seemed to shake the very ground beneath her feet. Like an unstoppable avalanche, everything and everyone around her was pushed back by this overwhelming energy. Trees swayed, rocks tumbled, and the air crackled with an electrifying intensity.
Amidst the chaos, the girl's eyes caught sight of a boy, desperately clinging to a ledge. Time seemed to slow down as panic gripped her heart. Without a second thought, she sprinted towards him, her feet pounding against the earth. With every ounce of strength she possessed, she reached out and grasped his hands just in the nick of time.
Their eyes met, a mixture of relief and gratitude reflected in their gazes. "Thank you," the boy uttered, his voice filled with sincerity. But as the girl looked back at him, her expression shifted, panic etched across her features as she realised who she had saved.
As the ground trembled beneath their feet, the world around them seemed to crumble. The very earth beneath the king and the mysterious figure gave way, swallowing them into its depths. A blinding burst of light pierced through the darkness, illuminating the chaos that ensued.
A fierce wind roared to life, swirling around them with the force of a tornado. The boy and the girl found themselves at the mercy of this tempest, their bodies being pulled towards the tumultuous vortex. Fear gripped their hearts as they fought against the powerful currents.
But just as all hope seemed lost, a strong hand reached out and grabbed them. "Mattias!" the boy exclaimed, relief evident in his voice. The trio held on tightly to one another as Mattias, with unwavering determination, maneuvered through the collapsing trees and crumbling ground. "Don't let go!" he urged them, his voice filled with resolve.
With every step, Mattias skillfully navigated the treacherous terrain, ensuring their safety. Finally, they reached the safety of the camp, where a moving wagon awaited them. Mattias gently placed the boy and the girl inside, assuring them that everything would be alright.
But the girl's anguish could not be contained. "No, mother!" she cried out, her voice filled with sorrow. Mattias turned back, concern etched on his face, and whispered, "Your Majesty." Without hesitation, he darted back into the forest, disappearing into the darkness.
As the girl was carried further away from the forest, her sobs echoed through the air. The weight of her loss hung heavy upon her heart, her grief overwhelming.
Thirty-three years later
Queen Elsa stood in front of the grand doors of the council chamber, her heart pounding in her chest. Anxiety washed over her like a tidal wave, threatening to consume her.
Her hands trembled, the icy chill of fear coursing through her veins. Each breath came in short, shallow gasps. as if the weight of the world rested upon her shoulders. The responsibilities of being Queen, the expectations of her people, and the impending meeting with the council who still to this day didn’t trust her all felt suffocating, closing in on her like a tight embrace.
Doubts and insecurities flooded her mind, relentless waves crashing against the shores of her confidence. The doubts whispered, questioning her every decision, making her second-guess her own abilities. In those moments, she wondered if she was truly worthy of the crown she wore.
Just as Elsa was about to succumb to the rising panic, Kai, her trusted advisor, approached with genuine concern etched on his face. "Your Majesty, are you alright?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
Elsa forced a weak smile, trying to hide her distress. "I'm fine, Kai," she replied, her voice betraying her true feelings. "I just... I need a moment."
Kai hesitated for a moment, torn between respecting her space and wanting to help. "Should I send for Princess Anna?" he asked, concern evident in his eyes. He knew that Anna was always there for Elsa, ready to offer support and comfort.
Elsa shook her head, frustration and exhaustion evident in her eyes. "No, Kai. She deserves to enjoy the festivities outside, it's all she's been talking about for the past week. I can handle this.”
Deep down, Elsa longed for Anna's comforting presence, but she didn't want to rely on her sister for every moment of weakness. Her sister had a life outside of Elsa and she had to respect that.
Taking a deep breath, Elsa closed her eyes and focused on grounding herself. She thought of Anna and what she might say. "You've got this, Elsa." she whispered to herself, channeling her sister's unwavering support. Slowly, the panic began to subside, replaced by a resolute determination. Elsa straightened her posture and pushed open the council chamber doors.
Anna and Olaf sat on a checkered blanket, surrounded by the picturesque beauty of the meadow. Anna flipped through the pages of the advanced book, her brow furrowed in confusion more and more as she flipped through the pages. She glanced at Olaf, who was trying his best to understand the complex concepts.
"Olaf, this book is ridiculously difficult!" Anna exclaimed, frustration evident in her voice. "I can barely make sense of it myself. Why did Elsa have to pick this one for you?"
Olaf tilted his head, a puzzled expression on his face. "Well, Elsa said it would be good for our intellectual growth, but I think she overestimated us.“ he said innocently.
“Our? Pfft, that stinker, she did this on purpose.” Anna chuckled, playfully tossing the book behind her without a care for where it landed. She ignored the audible splash. “I’ll get her back later and you’re right, Olaf. Maybe we should stick to something a little less... snow-phisticated next time," she teased, playfully nudging him with her elbow.
Anna’s eyes lit up with excitement as he remembered something. "Oh, speaking of snow, Olaf, how’s the new permafrost?”
“Oh it’s great! It’s like living the dream Anna.” he replied, rolling onto his back to bask in the warm sun. Anna followed suit, lying down beside him. “How I wish this could last forever.” she hummed in agreement.
Suddenly, Olaf sprang up, catching a falling leaf. “And yet change mocks us with her beauty.”
“Whats that?” Anna asked, curious.
“Forget it. Maturity is making me poetic.” he said, releasing the leaf. “Tell me you’re older and thus all knowing, do you ever worry about the notion of that nothing is permanent ?”
That caught Anna off guard. “Uh, well no.”
“Really?” Anna nodded, a smile gracing her face. “Oh I can’t wait till I’m ancient like you so I don’t have to worry about important things.”
Anna chuckled, “That’s not what I mean. I, I don’t worry because I have you and Elsa and Kristoff and Sven and the gates are opened and…I’m not alone anymore.” She laid back down, gazing up at the sky, “Now that, that will never change no matter what.” She turned her head to Olaf, smiling, and he returned the smile in kind.
_ _ _
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the stables, Kristoff paced back and forth, rehearsing his proposal to Sven, who was playing the role of Anna. He wanted to make sure every word was perfect.
"Anna you’re the most extraordinary person I’ve ever known." Kristoff began, his voice filled with sincerity. “I love you with all I am.” Kristoff took a deep breath, his heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nerves. “Will you marry me?” Sven, doing his best Anna impression, placed a hoof over his heart tor feign shock and nodded enthusiastically as he pretended to wipe away tears.
"Thanks buddy.” He chuckled as he stood back up but his smile quickly diminished. “I love Anna, I really do. It’s just, sometimes, I can't help but doubt myself. I'm not a prince or a nobleman. I don't have fancy titles or riches to offer. I'm just a simple ice harvester."
Sven gently placed a hoof on Kristoff's shoulder and gave him a ‘you’re kidding me look’. "Kristoff, don't you see? You are so much more than titles and wealth. You have a heart of gold, and your love for Anna is what truly matters. You don't need to be a prince to be worthy of her love."
Kristoff's doubts began to fade as he listened to Sven's words of encouragement. "I know buddy or else Elsa definitely wouldn’t have given me her blessing.” He gave Sven a scratch behind his ear.
Suddenly the sound of the festival bell rang through the air, signaling the start of the town's festivities, Kristoff carefully placed the ring back in his pocket. "C'mon, Sven. Let's go find Anna and Olaf. Tonight, I ask her to be mine forever."
As Kristoff stepped out into the bustling town square, Anna couldn't contain her excitement and practically tackled him with a bear hug. "Kristoff! You're just on time! I've been counting down the days until the festival!"
Kristoff laughed, wrapping his arms around Anna in a warm embrace. "I wouldn't miss it for the world, Feistypants. You know how much I love seeing you happy."
They strolled hand in hand through the festival, marveling at the colorful decorations and the lively music that filled the air. Anna couldn't help but notice Elsa's absence at the start of the festivities. "Hey, you didn’t see Elsa on your way here, did you? She's usually here early to make sure everything is perfect. I hope she's okay."
Kristoff looked around, scanning the crowd for any sign of Elsa. "Hmm, not sure where she could be. But knowing Elsa, she's probably tied up with some last-minute meeting. She'll show up soon, I'm sure."
Just as Anna voiced her concern, Olaf, got caught up in the excitement and was whisked away by a group of giggling kids. "Oh no, Olaf! He's off on another adventure," Anna exclaimed, watching as Olaf was pulled away, his laughter echoing through the crowd.
Kristoff shrugged, “Was only a matter of time.”
“C’mon let’s go get him. She pulled Kristoff’s arm, “Elsa will kill me if he gets destroyed again.”
"Nah, she won't kill you. Maybe just ban you from chocolate for a month," he smirked, crossing his arms and refusing to budge, despite Anna's efforts to pull him.
“Which is basically death! Now c’mon!” Anna insisted.
He let himself be dragged by Anna, laughing away.
“Another thing Your Majesty, when do you plan to marry and produce a heir? You’ve been reining for three years now and we are no step closer to Arendelle strengthening connections and we are in desperate need of supplies for the Winter.”
“As it stands Lord Falsen, Princess Anna is my heir and shall be for the foreseeable future with the throne being passed to her own children. Yes, the Blight was unforeseen but we have rationed enough to see us through Winter.”
“Barely enough.” He mumbled. Elsa chose to ignore it.
Another councilman chimed in “That’s another thing Your Majesty, why do you continue to let the Princess court that peasant? He has absolutely nothing to offer to the thro-“
“His name is Kristoff Bjorgman, and I will not tolerate such disrespect towards him.” Elsa interrupted sharply.“ Need I remind you that Mr. Bjorgman is responsible for saving Arendelle from an eternal winter three years ago, his love for Princess Anna is genuine and true and I believe that is greater than any Prince Consort could bring to the throne.” The council fell silent, and Elsa considered it a small victory.
“Now Gentlemen, is there much more to discuss?” She said cooly.
Another councilman spoke up, "Yes Your Majesty, there are still those among the citizens who harbor doubts and fears of your rule. They believe that the recent Blight was caused by your powers."
Elsa's hands trembled as she struggled to maintain her composure. Doubts once again flooded her mind.
"I... I understand their concerns,” Elsa stammered, her voice quivering. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “But…" her voice trailed off, truly at a loss of what to say.
The council members exchanged glances, their lack of confidence in Elsa becoming increasingly evident. The room fell into a heavy silence, further fueling Elsa's anxiety.
Councilman Falsen, known for his sharp tongue, seized the opportunity to make a cutting remark. "Arendelle has suffered greatly under your rule. First an eternal Winter, then a Blight which both severely damaged our supplies, it’s shocking we didn’t have more casualties. Who knows what you'll put Arendelle through next? Maybe it's time for someone more capable to take charge."
Elsa's heart sank as his words hit home. The doubts she had been suppressing surged to the surface, fueled by the councilman's harsh criticism. Her hands trembled, and she could feel the familiar tightening in her chest. Panic once again threatened to consume her.
Unable to bear the weight of their words, Elsa abruptly stood up, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and vulnerability. "This meeting is over. You’re all dismissed.” Her words hung in the air as she hastily left the meeting room, the sound of her hurried footsteps echoing in the silence.
In the solitude of her chambers, Elsa fought back tears, her mind swirling with self-doubt. The council's words had struck a nerve, reinforcing her deepest fears of inadequacy. As she stood there, the frost began to form on her trembling hands, a visible manifestation of her inner turmoil. In a moment of desperation, she dug her nails into her palms, puncturing her skin and causing crescent moon shaped cuts to form. The pain was a harsh reminder of the consequences of her powers, but it also served as a temporary distraction from the emotional pain she was feeling.
Elsa glanced at her hands, worried that Anna would see the marks, evidence of her struggle, of how she still wasn’t coping. She wished she could shield her sister from the darkness that sometimes consumed her, but she knew that she couldn't always control it. Taking deep breaths, she tried to calm herself, to regain control of her emotions before facing Anna.
“Don’t screw this up, this is an important day for her.”
With a practiced smile on her face, Elsa made her way out of the room, her hands still tingling from the cold.
"Oh, you're not getting away with that, Kristoff!" Anna giggled, playfully retaliating with a mischievous grin as he nudged her arm. The crowd cheered as their competitive spirits ignited a friendly rivalry.
Amidst the excitement, Anna spotted Elsa making her way through the crowd. "Elsa's here!" she exclaimed with relief. "I was starting to worry. Let's go.”
They made their way towards Elsa, weaving through the crowd, until they finally reached her. Elsa greeted them with a small smile. "I'm sorry I'm late. I got held up with a meeting." she explained.
Anna embraced her sister, feeling grateful for her presence. "Was Falsen giving you a hard time again?”
“No, no, just some trade discussions took longer to sort out than anticipated, don’t worry.” Elsa said hastily. Anna gave Elsa a suspicious look, sensing something more. But before she could ask, Elsa swiftly changed the subject. "So, have you been enjoying yourselves?"
"Yes! Everything looks amazing. We've been having so much fun!" Olaf exclaimed, his joy infectious.
Elsa's warm smile grew as she looked down at the snowman. "I'm glad."
The five of them spent the rest of the evening enjoying the festivities, dancing, and savoring the delicious treats the festival had to offer. They created memories that would last a lifetime, cherishing the joy and love that filled their hearts.
As the festival came to a close, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff & Sven returned to the castle for their weekly family game night.
