these french musicals are all bright af like ahhh this great city of Monopolis that we all live in and everyone's life is so boring it's meaningless and repetitive the wonderful story of Mozart and how the laughter and smiles of life may blind death and how talent is wasted by the time the epic destiny story of Notre Dame with the kind girl and her pure love and how those that love with his ugly heart is never loved back and only their dead bodies tangled the beautiful Verona and the love that may link two families and how everyone around Benvolio was dead the passionate love on the ground of Andalucia and blood is spilled over the exact ground where love sprout the heroic saga of the King of legends who saw the love between his wife and another to be as pure as his solitude the great Sun King and his spectacular reign and how being in the height of power he only felt the loneliness the exciting telling of the French Revolution in which everyone fought for only a faraway ideal and a fleeting second in history the heart-gripping adventures of the musketeers which would be wash away by memory 20 years later the call of being together from the Robins because there once was love between them but now the question remains the teacher who has great ambition but fell under the tangles of love and last but certainly not least the famous playwright Molière and his successful theater plays behind which he shouldered doubt and criticism to push himself to the stage so of course guys come and join us and have fun and trauma :D
in order of cue
Starmania Mozart L'opera rocke Notre Dame de Paris Romeo et Juliette Don Juan La Legend du Roi Arthur Le Roi Soleil Le Trois Mousquetaires Robin du Bois Le Rouge et Le Noir Molière Le spectacle musical

The incomprehension of Les Misérables
Inspired by the novel by Victor Hugo, a great classic of French literature, from which it takes up the plot and some characters
Created by three French people Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel , Les Misérables was initially just a simple, unpretentious album :
Tumblr media
What caught the audience's attention was probably the vocal presence of three popular French singers Michel Sardou for Enjolras, Salvatore Adamo as Combeferre and Michel Delpech is Feuilly
the full original album :
The public adhered particularly well to the album (without making it an incredible success), a stage version was staged by Robert Hossein the same year
Presented at the Palais des Sports for only sixteen weeks , this short lifespan will handicap the show which also suffers greatly from the absence of the stars of the album ( Without being a failure, the show will not touch the public who will lose interest very quickly )
According to some accounts, the show could have been recorded ( unconfirmed lost media from an alleged VHS sold at the exit of the theater ?! ) but at the time of writing these lines no archive has resurfaced ...
However, here's what the very first The Mis looks like :
( 1:12 and 9:42 for skip interviews ⤵️)
youtube
The show will be spotted by Cameron Mackintosh who will produce the very first international adaptation of an French musical
The English adaptation will become an interplanetary success performed in 42 countries and translated into 21 languages !
youtube
And will also be brought to the cinema in 2013
Tumblr media
But while the show is a hit all over the world, what is happening in France ?
Ironically, the show has simply disappeared from collective memory
A new stage attempt was made in 1991 at the Mogador theater with all the songs rewritten to better correspond to the English version of the show, which caused a certain incomprehension or even slight anger among fans of the original album feeling (legitimately) a little betrayed
The show will ultimately be shunned by the public who will lose interest even faster than the first time !!
youtube
This injustice took a long time to be repaired, it will only be in 2024 that the show will return to France at the Théâtre du Châtelet
Tumblr media
Even though the text was rewritten ( totally unnecessarily ) a third time, the show FINALLY received recognition and success in his home country :
youtube
Finally, The Export of Foreign Musicals allowed us to open the creative door to create our own unique, beautiful, creative and ambitious show ! Today some are even played around the world in French or translated into a beautiful multitude of languages
youtube

I think it's becoming official that we're having a DVD version of RetJ 2023 😭😭
I really hope they're also going to play in France but with everyone's schedule I don't think it's going to happen before the end of 2024 or 2025 (I can wait one or two more years as long as I can go see the musical 🙏🙏)

The Re-opening Ceremony of Notre-Dame de Paris was as grandiose and beautiful as the expertly restored Cathedral. I feel so proud and so intensely moved by the care and dedication of the thousands of artisans who worked, as in the centuries of yore to bring and breathe the monument back to life and its glorious beauty! And to sing Le Temps des Cathédrales alongside Garou --whose voice is still as glorious as when we saw him in the musical in the 1990s!-- was quite special indeed!

So for those who don’t know:
youtube
The Muppets got taken down on TikTok for singing the following song above.
So for those who are musical nerds. Be sure to spread this far and wide. I believe in you.

no but the funniest thing abt this is mozart gang genuinely looks more menacing and like a gang than l’étoile noir in starmania, like idk if it’s the mozart ™️ eyeliner that did the job but there ya go
[ᴍᴏᴢᴀʀᴛ ʟ'ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀ ʀᴏᴄᴋ] x [ꜱᴛᴀʀᴍᴀɴɪᴀ] For the 30th anniversary of the musical ‘Starmania’, France Gall (the first ‘Cristal’) talks briefly with the cast of ‘Mozart L'opéra Rock’ after their performance of ‘Quand on arrive en ville’. Video edit: me Translation: @tealviscaria (Thank you!!) Edit: More bickering! Claire (not Maeva) : "Are you out of your mind ? Wait, she stole my piece of cake at lunch !" Later, we can hear Mikelangelo answer something by saying: "Me ? But it's him [pointing at Florent] who is always alone." And then the France jokingly says : "Oh, one of them is even leaving [presumably Florent], that can't be, it's not possible." Thank you @cloudsandstormsanddust

The Pyrophone, also known as the "fire organ" or "fire-explosion organ," is indeed a real instrument from the 19th century. It was invented by Georges Frédéric Eugène Kastner, a French physicist and musician, in the mid-1800s. The Pyrophone produces sound by using flames within glass tubes or metal pipes. The heat from the flames causes the air inside the tubes to vibrate, creating musical notes. The intensity and frequency of the sound can be altered by adjusting the size and intensity of the flames.
