So as of right now, I am in community college getting my general classes out of the way before I actually transfer and major in fashion merchandising (or marketing I am still deciding). As much as I really wish I could just fast forward to being in my major, what would you recommend I do to increase my knowledge or experience involving that major in the meantime? I feel like I like fashion, but not enough and I want to be able to breeze through and have fun with my major when the time comes.
omg congrats! never minimize it youโre doing your thing! keep in mind that fashion school is there for you to learn. if you knew enough you wouldnโt need the schooling. so be aware that this is a journey ๐
Fashion Resources ๐ชก๐:
all these books will help you learn more about the industry, especially if youโre pursuing design specifically.
plus check out these posts out:
BabyPhat05โs Fashion Industry Resources
Fashion Industry Career Quiz
Small Things:
watching fashion shows and studying cohesion and concepts, fashion sketching in your free time, putting together actual moodboards when you have ideas, research fashion design software, try making some of your own clothing and accessories, keep a fashion diary, read books about your favorite designers and fashion houses, if youโre into bratz at all, i truly recommend buying some vintage coloring and activity books. thereโs a lot of design activities that i love in those books

Hey cas!! I wanted to ask you how to make the most out of notions (cuz its kinda complex app) + how to make notes omg im struggling w this YELPP๐ญ๐ญ
Hi !! I started using notion last year to try and organize my school life and still havenโt completely figured it all out, so I get what you mean with it being a little confusing ๐ญ. Iโve been mostly using it as a planner, but just started writing notes on it over this summer break and am kind of loving it. Iโll include screenshots and stuff under the cut, but if you need more specific details or a tutorial for a database or something feel free to send another ask or dm!
My Notion Setup โฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธ
(Sorry if the formatting for pictures is weird, Iโm still trying to figure out how to use this app ๐ตโ๐ซ)
For Planning:
Here is my notion dashboard! Itโs a little barebones compared to others that Iโve seen on Pinterest, but it works for me because if I include anything else my ADHD brain will get overwhelmed and wonโt keep up with actually using and updating it.
I have two databases: one being used as an assignment tracker that sorts my assignments into To-Do, Overdue, and Done sections based on dates and the other has pages for my classes for the semester. (I just realized that I forgot the change the heading from Spring 2024 to Fall 2024, so please donโt mind that ๐ญ) Along with the databases I have a simple to do list for things that I need to get done that arenโt assignment related.
You could also add a calendar view to the assignment database if you prefer seeing it in that format, I just choose not to because I use Google Calendar to see it in relation to my other plans for the day.
I donโt use the class pages for much because I preferred writing my notes in either Goodnotes or a physical notebook last semester, but Iโll probably start using them more because I like using notion to keep track of all of my code snippets and stuff along those lines that are easier to type than write out. It was also pretty helpful last semester for creating drafts and outlines for essays.
For Note-taking:
Here are two examples of pages that could go in the classes database if you prefer to take notes digitally. I like to use databases to create pages to take notes in for each chapter/section of the textbook or material for the class.
My favorite way of viewing it is the board view because I like having my progress visualized (and clicking and dragging chapters to the โDoneโ section is satisfying), but the table view is also nice if you want to include more details such as quiz scores or dates.
Here are some photos of my notes for a single chapter. I use section headers to separate the actual notes from other stuff like chapter-specific exercises or links, and use toggle headers for sub-section notes to make it less cluttered. Other than the formatting itโs nothing too fancy, my typed notes are similar to how you would take notes in any other software like GoogleDocs or Word.

How AI and Machine Learning are Revolutionizing Education Software Solutions
ย
In recent years, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) into various industries has opened up countless opportunities for innovation. One of the sectors that has seen a remarkable transformation is education, with AI and ML driving significant improvements in how educational content is delivered, managed, and personalized. The development of education software solutions is being enhanced by these technologies, providing a more interactive, efficient, and adaptive learning environment for both students and educators. This revolution is not just about automating tasks but fundamentally reshaping the way educational processes are conceived, implemented, and evaluated.ย
The Role of AI in Education Software Solutions Developmentย
AI and ML have introduced new possibilities for education software solutions development, making it possible to create platforms that are more than just digital versions of traditional learning methods. AI-powered tools can now provide highly personalized learning experiences by analyzing students' behavior, performance, and preferences. By leveraging data from these interactions, AI can offer customized lesson plans, adaptive quizzes, and instant feedback, tailoring the learning process to meet the unique needs of each student.ย
For instance, AI-driven chatbots can be used to provide real-time assistance, answering questions and providing resources whenever a student needs help. These virtual tutors can guide learners through their coursework, explain complex concepts, and even assess progress. Moreover, AI-based recommendation engines can suggest additional resources, courses, or exercises based on individual learning patterns, making it easier for students to stay engaged and improve their skills.ย
Machine learning further enhances these capabilities by continuously analyzing data to improve accuracy and predictions over time. This ability to adapt and optimize is crucial in education, where learning needs evolve rapidly. For example, predictive analytics can be used to identify students at risk of falling behind and provide early interventions, thus increasing retention rates and academic success.ย
The Impact of AI and Machine Learning on Learning Management Systems (LMS)ย
One area where AI and ML are making a significant impact is in Learning Management Systems (LMS). These platforms are essential tools for organizing, delivering, and tracking educational content. By integrating AI and ML, LMS platforms can now offer more dynamic features that make them smarter and more intuitive.ย
AI algorithms can analyze student performance across multiple parameters, such as quiz results, assignment grades, and time spent on tasks, and use this information to adjust the content accordingly. For example, if a student struggles with a particular topic, the system can automatically offer additional exercises, resources, or video tutorials to reinforce understanding. On the other hand, for students who excel, the system can present more advanced materials to challenge them further.ย
Additionally, AI-driven LMS platforms can optimize the scheduling of lessons and exams based on each studentโs progress and workload. This enables personalized learning journeys and ensures that no student is left behind, while also preventing burnout.ย
Improving Administrative Efficiency with AI and MLย
AI and ML are also transforming administrative functions within educational institutions. Tasks like grading, scheduling, student performance tracking, and even resource allocation can be streamlined and automated using these technologies, significantly reducing the time and effort required by staff. This frees up more time for teachers to focus on actual teaching rather than administrative tasks.ย
For example, AI can automate grading for multiple-choice tests, assignments, and even essays, ensuring a faster turnaround and more consistent results. This is not only more efficient but also removes the potential for human bias, making grading fairer. Additionally, AI-based systems can help identify patterns in student behavior or performance, allowing educators to make data-driven decisions that enhance teaching strategies and course design.ย
Mobile Apps and AI-Powered Learningย
With the increasing use of smartphones and tablets, mobile apps have become a critical part of the educational ecosystem. AI and ML are taking mobile learning apps to the next level by adding features that provide personalized learning experiences. These apps can track a studentโs progress, recommend resources, and even adjust the difficulty of questions based on performance, making learning more engaging and effective.ย
Moreover, mobile apps powered by AI can support anytime, anywhere learning, allowing students to access educational content on-the-go. This flexibility is particularly valuable for non-traditional learners, such as working professionals or individuals with limited access to formal education.ย
If you're planning to develop a mobile learning app for your educational institution or business, consider using a mobile app cost calculator to estimate the development expenses. It can help you understand the investment required and identify the features that will provide the most value to your target audience. Creating a custom mobile app for education is an investment that can yield long-term benefits, so it's essential to plan accordingly.ย
If you're interested in exploring the benefits of Education Software Development Servicesย for your business, we encourage you to book an appointment with our team of experts.ย

The Future of Education Software Development Servicesย
Looking ahead, the future of education software development services is incredibly promising. As AI and ML continue to advance, they will unlock even more sophisticated tools and platforms that will transform how we approach learning. In particular, AI is expected to play a central role in making education more accessible, efficient, and personalized.ย
For educational institutions and edtech companies, adopting AI and ML in their software solutions will be crucial for staying competitive in a rapidly evolving market. Education software development services will increasingly focus on creating platforms that not only meet the needs of teachers and students but also harness the full potential of these cutting-edge technologies.ย

CPE312 Software Design and Engineering
Wellness Period + Quiz 1 + Class Discussion + Group Activity
Week 13-14
November 28, 2024
December 5, 2024
ึดึถึธ๐ เฃชห ึดึถึธ๐เผเผเฟ
Today, Sir Carl started our class with a quiz that covered some of the key topics weโve tackled in the past few weeks, like software reliability, quality management, ISO standards, and API basics. These topics helped us understand how to make software better and more reliable. After the quiz, he gave a short discussion about data mining, explaining how companies use data to understand their customers, predict what they might want, and improve their services. Itโs fascinating to see how data plays such a big role in business decisions. We then had a 10-item seatwork to test what we learned, and afterward, we worked in groups on the Target Market Activity. This activity focused on using data mining techniques to come up with strategies for understanding and targeting customers in a business setting.
This will be our last class before the finals, which are just around the corner. I really hope I can do well on the exams and that the questions will be clear and based on the lessons weโve covered. I also want to thank Sir Carl for being so understanding, especially with our late submissions and system issues.
On a side note, weโve made a lot of updates to our EduConnect system. We added a "Log Out" button using a three-line menu for quick access. The "Create Subject" feature is now a pop-up instead of a separate file, making it more user-friendly. In the tuteeโs class stream, we added a "Messages" button so they can easily contact their tutors, likely through Messenger. We also cleaned up the profile section by removing unnecessary features like the bio, which frees up more space for the subject cards. Lastly, for the payment system, we added a feature where users can click on a subject to view payment details in a pop-up. Thereโs still a lot to improve, but weโre getting closer to creating something we can be proud of.

So, after the events and other free time that we have, we continued to work on our system or application, and continued working on our frontend and hopefully we will be able to finish it so that we can start our back end. We also updated our manuscript and the minor revisions we needed to do.
moreover, we also conducted meetings and brainstormed about the things that we need to do for our system because making it is not easy and very complex to do. Also, our instructor announced that we will be having a quiz next week, so we also began to study the topics covered for the quiz. That is all for this weekโs blog!!

Knee Deep in the Passenger Seat: Is It Casual Now if We're Having a Quiz Next Meet?
"2 weeks and your mom invites me to her house in long beach, is it casual now?" Just like what Chappell said, is it casual now that we're 4 weeks in or are we getting for real right now? Although I would like to think that it is still casual, the hard truth is that it's not. Over the past few weeks, the topics we've discussed have slowly increased until the load was nearly enough for us to have our first quiz the following week. At least that's what we thought when we first entered the room, however it soon changed when our professor told us that we were going to have our quiz that day, a palpable sense of panic and horror was felt by everyone at that very moment, including myself. Although I was slightly prepared because I did a light review on the first topic, it was still not enough to help me pass and salvage myself from the dreadful test. However the feeling was soon dissipated when our professor said that we were just going to discuss the second topic, everybody breathed a sigh of relief the moment our professor said that.
Attached here are the shocked faces of Ms. Gwen and Ms. April ๐๐

As usual, before the class started we had our cutesy little game, the REBUS PUZZLE!!. And do you want to know what makes this different from the past games? It's because this time, I finally got a correct answer! YAYY!!! The answer was supposedly Jack-in-box but I said Jack-in-the-box, but the professor still considered it as correct, so it's still a win for me. (ยดโฝ`สโกฦช)
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Everybody was on a high after that mini-game and it was finally time to start the discussion...
The discussion began by defining the software design, where its critical role in the software lifecycle was emphasized. The purpose of software design was also highlighted, which was to create a blueprint for building software that meets specified requirements while ensuring maintainability, scalability, and usability. Then the core design principles were discussed such as problem partitioning, abstraction, modularity, and top down & bottom up strategy. Then the system implementation and its deployment were covered next. It was highlighted that we should follow the design blueprint closely so that we can ensure that the software meets its requirements. And that we should also note the importance of rigorous testing at every stage to ensure that the software is free of defects. And before deploying the system to the production environment, there should be strategies discussed first and also consider the rollbacks, monitoring, and maintenance of the system. And finally, the importance of code refactoring, it is the process of restructuring the existing code in order to improve the readability and also reduce the complexity without having to change the external behavior. Overall, the topic was discussed in great detail with numerous examples to further help us understand the topic.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
As expected, after the discussion we had another activity where we had to design a system based on the problem given to us. We were still grouped into 4,and also by pure coincidence, the problem assigned to us was similar to the current project that we were doing, to design an online bookstore where users can browse books, add them to a shopping cart, and make purchases, and what's even funnier is that I was in the same group with 2 of the other members from the project, so color us surprised! In doing the task, I was assigned to create the initial design diagram for the system. Honestly, with the amount of time given and the resources available to use, I think we did well with the interface of the system. Although there were critiques from the other group that COMPLETELY left us speechless, I thought that we still did a great job with our output. And of course, what's the best way to end the class with an announcement for an upcoming quiz the following week! (โฌโฌ๏นโฌโฌ) May we survive the quiz next meet... so not looking forward to it เฒฅ_เฒฅ So in conclusion, no it is NOT casual, WE ARE LOCKED IN!!
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
And before we end the week, we did a follow-up consultation on the pre-requisites of our manuscript, the hard-work and perseverance of the team bore fruit as it led to us being in the lead to finish the pre-requisites first. However, our Activity 1 was completely wrong, I guess we got lost in translation. ฦช(หโฃห)ส In the end, the consultation finished rather quickly, with minor adjustments here and there, and it finally ended in a positive note. ๐๐
