My least favorite type of crossover is taking one franchise's unique mythology and just making it an off-shoot of the other franchise. "Jason Voorhees isn't a zombie revived by lightning... he's actually just a deadite!" "The cryptids in Secret Saturdays are not all unique animals with their own backstories/lore... they're actually just aliens from Ben 10!" Awful. Just fucking awful.

plot: set five years after Freddy vs. Jason, Krueger possesses Vorhees' mind and learns of the Necronomicon hidden in the old Vorhees home, hoping to resurrect himself. Ash Williams, who has been mentoring at the new Crystal Lake S-Mart, interprets a Jason murder as the work of Deadites and soon finds himself pitted against the horror icons.

reason for cancellation: New Line Cinema objected to the ending which would have had Freddy killed off for good. The script was eventually turned into a comic series in 2007.
