Frank is literally just sooooo “well what I feel for Charley and Mary is Friendship. So anything else I fell for people must be Romantic Love” and then ends up marrying people he’s not compatible with and cheating and being confused as fuck. When really his feelings for Charley and Mary are so damn complicated and strong that labelling that as friendship has totally skewed what he thinks friendship can be. And I love him for it. Especially as an aroace who has had a “what if I’m actually in love with this person I just met” thing a million times. This wasn’t going to be about aro spec Frank but actually now this is about aro spec Frank. He has no real way of knowing what Romantic Feelings actually feels like, so he just guesses based on societal expectations, physical attraction, and what he thinks Friendship feels like, and ends up making wild choices.

the funny thing about being a doctor who fan and broadway adjacent is that i can straight up tell jinkx monsoon and jonathan groff that i “really loved them in this season of doctor who!” at the stage door
