New additions to my Franken-shrine.
I picked up the Peggy Webling book from the Drama Book Shop on my recent visit to NYC. It was released just this year, and publishes some previously not available to the public Frankenstein plays by Peggy Webling which directly inspired the 1931 James Whale film. I'm super excited to dig into this one! I also found a 1990's edition of Frankenstein at a local toy/horror store that I get to add to my collection of other editions. The last thing is a copy of, unironically, one of my favorite movies which is Victor Frankenstein (2015). I actually gifted this copy to a friend who also loves this movie and also collects DVD's. One day I need to make a post about this movie because I probably watched it at least 5 times this year.
Happy hunting fellow Frankenshrine curators!

I now have an office Franken-shrine! I'll be honest this snowballed very quickly, it was just the one poster, then my grad school friends gifted me some mini posters and a coaster, and then I got this headstone from Michael's on the cheap from clearance, and bada bing bada boom a shrine away from home! (I shouldn't clarify I'm not a huge Frankenstein (1931) fan but that tends to be the only merch out there so we accept it and make do sometimes.)
Here is the real question, what is the significance of 1782 to Frankenstein??? Based on my own study/timeline of the book, it's not Victor's birth year. It's also not Mary Shelley's birthday year. Googling only found a painting painted that year that may have inspired the writing of the book, but otherwise I can't find any significance to it. 1818 is obviously the year the book was published, but what the hell happened in 1782??? I need y'alls theories!
