I thought I had left my house in such good shape before I went on a nine-day vacation, and was so proud. Yeah no there was asparagus in the (cold) oven the whole week. #thatADHDlife
At least the oven wasn't on? Go team?
Anyway, it's been fun and I knitted a ton, but dang I missed my cats and am glad to be home.

Did you knowww, most photos when you google "Native American Photos" were staged/basically a lie? From 1900 to 1930, Edward S. Curtis staged over 40,000 photos of Native Americans, which became America's view of "authenic" Native life. He had pressured struggling and impoverished families to pose in fake settings, exploiting their poverty by briding them. He had people wear clothes and head dresses from different tribes to fit a stereotypical image, he had even posed people away from buildings to erased all signs of "modern life" to sell a primitive fantasy. His photos made him famous while his photo's subjects were being forced onto reservations and into boarding schools. He had even bribed struggling communities to perform sacred ceremonies out of season, his photos were used at the time to convince Americans that the Natives were "disappearing".
It's debated whether Curtis was trying to represent Native Americans through his (narrow) lense or if he was purposefully exploiting them for the purpose of making money. My opinion is both tbh
Check out Frank S Matsura photos if you'd want to see accurate Native American photos not romantized and corrected by the American lense! (He was a Japanese immigrant who befriended and was trusted in Native communities! Love his photos💜)
