Just Breathe🧘🏼‍♀️
Stop, listen, and breathe. It has been proven that music increases blood flow to brain regions that generate and control emotions. Jeniffer L.W. Fink wrote a very informative article on the topic. You might be asking okay and?
As a person who gets anxious easily, it’s very calming to have a playlist that calms me and just brings me to a better place. “Just Breathe” Is a playlist that has songs from different artists and they don't exactly relate to each other but will still give you that calming feeling one might need when a million things are going on in your head. My playlist Just Breathe has ten songs which gives you thirty-nine minutes of listening time.
“Just Breathe” has songs from artists such as James Arthur, Famy, Zayn, Tom Rosenthal, One Republic, Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, and Ruth B. I completely winged this playlist. I just added songs whenever I heard one that felt right.
Tumblr media
It starts with “Car’s Outside” by James Arthur. This song has a lot of strong emotion in it along with most of the others in the playlist. “Just Breathe” is used to bring me peace and this song gives me peace. I don't know why, but something about his voice just calms me. Also when he says “The cars outside but I don't want to go tonight” is a very relatable quote. If you're feeling stressed or anxious you probably have a lot on your plate and you just simply don’t want to do anything. Just like how James doesn’t want to get in the car.
Next in “Just Breathe” we have “Can I be Him” also by James Arthur. Again James Arthur's voice is honestly something else he brings me peace in a lot of his songs. This can be seen as a “sad” song because he is singing about a girl. He seems to be obsessed with her. He talks about how everything she has done was for him. He expresses that he wants to be the one for her. What I like about this song is the guitar in the background mixed with his voice. Just listening to this song is so peaceful to me and it might be for you as well.
Okay, enough James now moving on to “Ava” by Famy, the guitar and drums in this song make an amazing beat and it is just relaxing even though he is talking about being in pain for being far from his love. He mentions how he has a devil inside and the world is rabid. It is considered sad but the way he puts the songs together makes it not seem as sad but once again calming.
“Dusk Till Dawn” Is a song by former boy band star Zayn and features Sia. “It starts sweet. Like, sweet. And by sweet I mean that Malik has a voice like honey. He could sing me the Yellow Pages and I’d make it my ringtone. His first verse is a perfect precursor for the rest of the song to follow. Then in the pre-chorus, Sia joins him, and though an unlikely pairing, their voices match each other in their sultry-ness I guess? Like they both string their words along beautifully” I wouldn’t be able to put it better Priya. Sia and Zayn beautifully put this song together
Tumblr media
“Lights Are On” By Tom Rosenthal is very well put together. It's slow and the beat stays about the same throughout the whole song it slows down a little and he quickly picks back up. His voice is just too peaceful and he carries the same tone the whole song.
Bit of a switch from “Lights are on” we go into “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic. This is a big feel-good song and lightens the mood. There isn’t much to say other than this is a very good song.
Okay feeling a bit “Lost”? I know this playlist is a bit of a mess but the next song “Lost” by Frank Ocean is another feel-good song. It fits “Just Breathe” because it is easy to feel lost at times so hearing about being lost but with a happy spin to it helps so much and gives a sense of normality to the feeling.
I feel very similar to James Arthur and Sam Smith. I love the way they sing and the feeling in their songs. So “Fire on Fire” By Sam Smith is a great song. He talks about how you set fire on fire and how it can kill someone but they push past with so much desire and they are beautiful. It just sounds very good. Another Sam Smith song in my playlist “Just Breath” is “Like I Can” Which kind of contradicts “Fire on Fire”. “Like I can” he is talking about how nobody will love this person the way he can and he feels deeply for this person and you can hear his passion.
Lastly, “Golden” by Ruth B. I appreciate Ruth B’s music and I’ve listened to her since I was younger. She is talking about how she has been looked down upon and or looked passed. Discriminated for being different. Ruth says that the heat doesn’t burn as much and that she grew into loving her differences. I love how she talks about what she isn’t. She’s not weak, she’s not broken, she’s not silver, nor is she cold, she is golden. I love how she talks about how people bring her down and how she comes up from it. The song is soft and her song is so peaceful. Looking into my own life I’ve experienced a lot of battles that I had to overcome so I feel a deep connection with this song. Since she made this peaceful connection it is a nice reminder of my accomplishments.
Tumblr media
A lot of the correlation between these songs is that they are all talking about something deep but display it in such a beautiful up lifting way. While continuing to sing about something serious and or deep they manage to make it sound happy and upbeat which is why I find all of these songs to be beneficial. When I am anxious or stressed it is a good outlet to let out emotion and thoughts but still maintain a positive attitude

Gus Invests in a Karaoke Machine
I woke up this morning and thought this very normal thought:
What song would the bachelor.ette.s sing at karaoke?
Not what they like to listen to, not what they'd want to sing in any normal state.
What they would belt out with a buzzed heart.
So here we go:
Harvey -
And he's absolutely CRUSHING it, everyone in the saloon is floored by how Harvey chanel his best Tim Curry. They're stuck to his lips for every notes with antici... ...pation.
He even shakes his hips, straighten his leg, put on the greatest show. Walk over the patrons, flick their chins, he's not much of a man by the light of day, but by night... Oh yeah. Even grabs Shane's pint in the process, sits on the counter to drink off it. How 'bout that?
Unfortunately he doesn't remember much the next day and wonders why people started calling him Dr Frank-N-Furter for a while.
Elliott -
Starts with a whisper from the heart, making the townspeople think aww he so shy, but then he just FLIES and SWINGS from the chandelier. He IS the bird, he IS free, and he clearly doesnt care if he sings off key.
Beating to the sound of his own untuned drum.
There's a lot of hair flip, and the scream inside that he was hiding FLIES OUT.
His throat hurts the next morning, but he sings for love ♥
Shane -
He wasn't going to partake, but when he heard the few notes from the song coming on as Gus put the machine on Shuffle he simply HAS to grab the mic and DESTROYS it with all his heart.
Oh so you think you got him figured out? THE SEASON'S CHANGING BITCH. Don't you try to save him. He's your HELL he's your DREAM.
The saloon is stunned. He doesn't sing well (like, at all) but damn his heart and soul ARE in it, and it shows. When he's done they're all a bit lost but damn the applauses come soon enough.
He forgets all about it each time.
We wouldn't want him any other way.
Sam -
He tries to pull Seb in, he wants to get Seb to sing with him. He wants to sing Kiki Dee's part solely but he ends up singing both, weirdly harmonizing with himself?? Like it's almost spooky how good he switches from one voice to the other.
A lot of ooh-hoo ooh-hoo but damn this man has a built-in pitch checker, each notes is hit with the precision of an opera singer. He puts the light in your life.
The song ends but he continues with an endless loop of:
Don't go breaking my / Don't go breaking my / Don't go breaking my / Don't go breaking my (please someone take the mic from him)/ Don't go breaking my/ Don't go breaking my...
Sebastian is almost sad he didn't get to sing with him after all but they make it a point to sing it every Karaoke night from now on (and they're perfect, everyone comes in just cause they know this will happen.)
Seb -
Are you a man? Cause I'm a biitcchhhhhhhhh.
Everyone is taken aback, flummoxed, even. How does Sebastian move that way? Who taught him? How flexible is this man? With all due respect, everyone's in heat?? I mean look at him. Rev his engine til you make it purr??
Robin and Demetrius are a bit....puzzled but, man, look at the way he moves. Don't try to give him shit he earned the right to be like this...
Get in loser for the...JOYRIDE micdrop
Immediately acts like absolutely nothing happened. Everybody else follows.
Alex -
Lots of pouting and squinting, finger pointing and shuffling. Each time poiting to a different person, making their heart flutter for a bit.
TELL ME WHY - and everyone else joins in.
He's the bad boy of the backstreet, he is your fire, your one desire. His hands on his body, a lot, A LOT. Is he singing to himself?! That's a lot of body touching...Alex calm down. Pull your shirt down.
His shirt is on the floor by the end of the song, and grabs it to wipes himself with it like he's James Brown. He's having fun and is that not what karaoke's about?
🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶🧑‍🎤🎶
I'll do bachelorettes next.

Come spiega Nicholas Cullinan, “Pittura o scultura? Arte o complemento d’arredo? Elemento utilitaristico oppure ornamentale? Decorativo, funzionale, architettonico o teatrale?

Storia Di Musica #275 - AA.VV. - The Indian Runner (O.s.t.), 1991
(beh conviene vederlo il film no?). The summer had inhaled and held its breath too long\The winter looked the same, as if it never had gone\And through an open window where no curtain hung\I saw you\I saw you\Comin' back to me).
My name is Joe Roberts, I work for the state I'm a sergeant out of Perrineville, barracks number eight I always done an honest job, as honest as I could I got a brother named Franky, and Franky ain't no good.

Tumblr media

Guido Harari LE SEZIONI DELLA MOSTRA: LIGHT MY FIRE. King, Frank Zappa, Van Morrison, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Kate Bush, i Clash, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Philip Glass, Peter Gabriel, Nick Cave, George Michael, R.E.M., Iggy Pop, Ute Lemper, Brian Eno e molti altri. Immagine di copertina: Pikasus Foto: All About Jazz

“Paraventi: Folding Screens from the 17th to 21st Centuries” at Fondazione Prada, Milan October 26, 2023–February 26, 2024
The Milan exhibition explores the histories and semantics of these objects by tracing trajectories of cross-pollination between East and West, processes of hybridization between different art forms and functions, collaborative relationships between designers and artists, and the emergence of newly created works. The folding screens embody liminality and the idea of being on the threshold of two conditions, literally and metaphorically. They cross barriers between different disciplines, cultures, and worlds.
As explained by Nicholas Cullinan, “Painting or sculpture? Art or furniture? Utilitarian or ornamental? Decorative, functional, architectural, or theatrical? This innovative exhibition examines the many questions and paradoxes surrounding the unfolding history of the paravent. This history of the folding screen is one of cultural migration (from East to West), hybridization (between both different art forms and functions) and of what is concealed and revealed. As we shall explore, this history, and especially the way it manifests in the present, is one of liminal objects and of liminality itself; in the process collapsing the rigid distinctions and hierarchies between the different disciplines of art and architecture, decoration, and design.”

Frank Williams Academy launched in memory of legendary F1 team boss
Claire Williams has launched a new charitable initiative – The Frank Williams Academy – run by the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) in memory of her father, one of Formula 1’s most successful Team Principals. Sir Frank Williams, F1’s long-serving team boss who ran two teams during a career that spanned five decades and saw him win seven drivers’ titles and nine constructors’ championships, died in 2021. READ MORE: Playing the long game – How new boss James Vowles is plotting Williams’ return to form He spent most of his F1 career in a wheelchair as a tetraplegic after sustaining a spinal cord injury in a car crash in 1986. As Sir Frank reduced his workload, his daughter Claire took over as the family representative and was Deputy Team Principal in charge of the day-to-day running of the operation before the family sold the team to Dorilton Capital in 2021. Claire was keen to continue Sir Frank’s incredible legacy and on Wednesday, at Hoare Memorial Hall in London’s Westminster and in the presence of the SIA’s patron HRH The Princess Royal, the Frank Williams Academy was launched. Frank and Claire Williams pictured during their time running the Grove team “My father lived the most extraordinary life, not least as one of the most successful Team Principals in the history of the sport and doing so from a wheelchair as a tetraplegic for the greater part of it,” said Claire. “His tenacity in the face of this adversity was just one of the many things that made him such an inspiration to many while he was alive. “Following his death, I wanted to do something to continue that legacy, and the Frank Williams Academy couldn’t be a more fitting tribute. The work that the Academy will do will provide potentially life changing care for spinal cord injured people, just as the SIA did for my dad. With that support, the bounds of possibility are endless.” READ MORE: Sargeant picks out what he is enjoying the most about F1 so far – and the main area he needs to improve Williams Racing supported the launch, with board members Matthew Savage and James Matthews plus Team Principal James Vowles present. The Academy’s logo will run on the team’s FW45 driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant at next weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix. “We’re delighted to support the launch of the Frank Williams Academy,” said Savage. “To honour Sir Frank's life by providing fundamental education, care and support to change the lives of people affected by spinal cord injuries is truly special. Everyone at Williams Racing is looking forward to helping the Academy flourish.” While Dorilton Capital now run the team, the famous Williams name remains The Academy aims to raise £1.5m to launch and establish the Academy during its early years, with funding set to be used to help educate and train those affected by spinal cord injuries and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, appropriate care is provided. The SIA has been Williams’ Official Charity since 2015, with Claire being appointed Vice President of the organisation a year later. READ MORE: From Brawn GP’s fairytale to Aston Martin’s super start – The biggest year-on-year performance jumps in F1 history “Inspired by Sir Frank’s success and motivated by the challenges he faced, the vision is to completely transform the availability of specialist expertise in health and care so that anyone anywhere has the best chance of a fulfilled life after injury,” added Nik Harley, the SIA’s CEO. “Sir Frank was the living example of such a life. We’re so grateful to his daughter, our amazing Vice President, Claire Williams and to Williams Racing for backing this.” You can make a donation to the Frank Williams Academy here. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com
