Not many know that the namesake of California comes from the legend of California as an island ruled by a Black queen, Queen Calafia. Over the past hundred years or more, artists have depicted Queen Calafia in a range of ways and in various media, from murals like the one at the Mark Hopkins Hotel to books of poetry, like devorah major’s califia's daughter.

If we go behind the name...

'Devorah - name of Hebrew origin meaning “bee.” The name features in the Bible and was the name of a great prophet and judge who helped produce an army and effect a major victory against the Canaanites.'

Debs, Erlea, and Devorah have grown into wonderful children, developing good relashions with Finn, who basically moved in. After many years of helping Melissa the both of them started developing feelings for one another.

I have not been playing the sims after the little glitch that changed the face also because cult of the lambs major update and minecraft legends coming out, but after most of my mods have updated and the glitch had been fixed, the story continues.

Devorah Drops Exuberant Single “Fire Spinner”

Devorah has released her deep house single “Fire Spinner,” centered around a fire-dancing girl and how she embodies the energy and attention of those around her. Intertwining her practice as a reiki healer with her velvet voice and infectious beats, Devorah describes the track as one that is grounded in spirituality as the girl portrayed in the song is letting her love be expressed through her spinning hoops of fire. “Fire Spinner” is available to stream and download on all major music platforms. “Fire Spinner” is a lighthearted song fueled with affection and intensity, following a love story between Devorah and the fire dancer. When asked about the inspiration behind the song, she says, “I was enamored with a girl who spins fire, and the passion she exhibited while enjoying her craft was so inspiring to me, that I had to write a song about it. The song has a spiritual meaning, as roots are used to describe grounding in meditative practices.” Co-produced by Devorah and Kevin Cho (Ariana Grande, John Legend, Ne-Yo,) “Fire Spinner'' is brought to life by Devorah’s vocals, whose color and depth work in tandem with the bass-rich chorus. The track follows the structure of a classic EDM track: a verse, a pre-chorus that excitedly leads to the climax, and the chorus, which consists of a very laid-back, bass-heavy drop. Suddenly, the older son phoned [me] and shouted that there had been an attack,” she recalled to Channel 12.

Paley said that when her son called to say there had been an attack, he did not know where his father or his two brothers were. She headed to the scene, quickly realizing that it was a major terror incident and that “my family is at the center” of it.

Her elder son, she soon found out, was lightly injured. A while later she was informed that her husband had been taken to the hospital.

“I understood that there were people killed,” she said, but she could not get any further information from emergency responders who had arrived.

“At a certain point, someone came up to me and asked me if I can identify a boy,” she said. That was her son.

While Yaakov Yisrael was confirmed dead at the scene, his older brother Asher Menahem was critically injured, only succumbing to his wounds the next day.

Devorah’s husband, who is still sedated and intubated at the hospital, does not yet know that his sons were killed.

Two weeks ago the California History Section hosted its second Speaker Series event of the year with Dr. Kim McMillon, co-editor of Black Fire – This Time, moderating the conversation between two poet laureates: devorah major (of San Francisco) and Robin Coste Lewis (of Los Angeles). They discussed how their poetry has used words of liberation to empower and heal and how it acknowledges a history of Blackness that needs to be celebrated and told.

Overweight: I don’t personally think so....

Underweight: She used to be when she was younger. When you grow up with barely any money, it’s hard to feed six kids.

FAVORITE

Color: I would say..... black & gold

Music Genre: She’s kind of all over the place when it comes to music. She just doesn’t really like country music that much.

Movie Genre: 🤠 Westerns, she ironically really likes westerns. It’s probably because those were her dad’s favorite movies too & it was how they bonded.

TV Show: I would say F.R.I.E.N.D.S. She’s usually too busy to just sit down & watch TV, it’s one of the few shows where she doesn’t feel confused after missing multiple episodes. .

Food: Well, she technically can’t eat food anymore. But before that, it was anything from those old greasy spoon diners. It used to be major comfort food for her. Primarily because growing up whenever her parents finished a job or had a parenting fuck up. (like when Faith fell out of the RV while it was going nearly 75 miles an hour because her dad forgot to lock the door, making her break her leg so bag the bone popped out)

Drink: Blood now, but when she was alive she loved a good Old Fashioned. It used to be her go to drink at the bar/club.

Book: When she was growing up she used to love His Dark Materials. As she got older, her dad & her sister Leah got her into comics. But as an adult she hasn’t really gotten the chance to sit down & read books. But with immortality giving her more time she might start reading again.
