Siren isn't really a game i think i could play myself (too hard and scary) but its development history is fucking COOL dude like i love the animations not being mocap and instead the face textures being pictures of the cast's actual faces and cycle through them in a way that i can only describe as like if you spill water on a painting?? thats so cool!!!

Okay I didn’t mean to accidentally come up with a new headcanon but I did. I think Franziska actually grows to care about Phoenix, considering he is her brother’s significant other and her girlfriend’s basically-brother. She gets embarrassed about it though because she has to maintain her Tough Girl Prosecutor look and can’t be showing sympathy for a defense attorney. When he gets disbarred, that wall still remains because she can’t be seen showing sympathy to a *disgraced* ex-defense attorney. However, she still feels like she should do something, so she masks her concern through the concern of the other loved ones. She ends up having movie nights with him (the same way Miles and Maya watch samurai stuff together) and they bond on the more cynical sides of the world, as well as deep down secret loves for musicals and pretty things. He becomes like a big brother for her in a way that Miles never really was because, while growing up, Franziska was often the one comforting Miles through his nightmares and trauma. That’s just one of the reasons why she refers to him as her “little brother”, as well as her just wanting to project herself as more in charge than she actually is. Franziska also develops a soft spot for hugs because she never really had them growing up. Miles isn’t really known to be the one to initiate hugs (although he does enjoy them), while the Wright Family (and this includes Maya) hugs ALL the time. Much like everyone else, Fran finds comfort in Phoenix’s hugs and is able to let her guard down with him (however, she tells him that if he tells *anyone* about this, she will kill him because she still needs to maintain her reputation as Tough and Scary for her career)

Franziska and Phoenix is such an underrated dynamic imho. Like obviously Franmaya and narumitsu are discussed at length and then Maya and Edgeworth steel samurai besties is too, and Fran and Nick are the only one left on that little group.

I like to think she genuinely likes him but would never admit it to him but he knows. He's used to bickering with someone who he genuinely cares about and recognises during and after BTTT that this is just how she communicates and meets her at her level. I like to think they bitch together about their siblings/partners and other just annoying things in their life. I think when he settles more into being with Edgeworth and Edgeworth himself softens out and becomes more affectionate, he kind of goes to her for the more brutal affectionate bickering because he kind of misses it given there's only so far Miles is willing to go anymore. It makes him kind of nostalgic.

I think she genuinely grows to respect him and likes that she knows the two people she cares about most are so close with someone who is so recklessly protective. She thinks he's a foolish idiot and will say as much to his face, regularly, but I think there's a level of comfort there for her in knowing that no matter what her little brother and girlfriend have someone so steadfastly protective in their corner.

you ask a lot of questions too, and while sometimes you can be pushy, they dont fault you for it.... theyre the same way with their own god

they found you after your entire family had been slaughtered- by heretic or a monster... it doesnt really matter, you see the perpetrator as a beast regardless

they make it clear that theyre always there for you, and that becomes more and more clear as you get closer and rise through the ranks

from new follower to devoted disciple, youve proved to be fiercely loyal to the lamb; claiming them as your new family, someone you can always find trust in after everything thats happened... if you were ever separated from the flock you would do anything it took to get back to them

Let's start from probably one of my favest jokes in the games.

Totally underrated. While everyone here is grasping the concept of ghosts and how they are real. Fran just goes forward with a joke.

But now about Fran. The older you get, the more you understand how much of child she is. She's 18 in her first game and it pretty much obvious. Even Athena, who also 18 in DD is less infantile. And it's not a jab at her. There's nothing wrong with being 18. It's just.

She was born in raised in very strict conditions, little smart princess. In a cage of rules, she was kinda. Set up on rails. So when she lost everything, her father and her big brother she got lost. She was never prepared to live without guidance.

Anyway, her relationship with Miles is great and I love them very much. They are very silly together.

Fast-Forwarding to Six

[Tim angst + fluff, Tim/Cassie established]

He was trying to be romantic when he brought Cassie flowers at sunset upon returning to San Fran. She had smiled, set the vase on the table, given him a quick kiss and then flew out the window to help with some Titan's business.

He got a text two minutes later reminding him that Donna would be babysitting tomorrow.

So for tonight, it's him and the baby.

Diane keeps leaning over as if trying to escape his arms, and in less than a second, he realizes it's because she wants to touch the flowers very, very badly.

So he leans forward and lets her. When she still can't seem to grasp the daisy petals, he leans forward and detaches a couple for her. She takes a solid minute to just...pet them. Like the texture of a flower petal is the singular most fascinating and soothing thing in the world.

So Tim gives it a try. Underrated experience, he realizes. His daughter may be on to something.

A factual part of his mind informs him that if he were the small child trying to play with his mother's flowers, his parents would have batted his hand away and told him to go play on his own. Or to better yet, go do something educational.

He's been having a lot of thoughts about his parents lately. Memories drip in like a leaky faucet and ripple out to occupy his mind.

It's only when Diane switches gears and tries to put a bit of daisy in her mouth that he stops her. She protests, and he responds by distracting her with a game. Peek-a-boo and roll-the-ball and a cascade of simple pastimes he has no memory of doing when he was a child.

But he must have, surely?

Everyone warns him that she's going to grow fast. Not speedster-fast, thanks to her entirely human makeup, but still... a warning from Superman rings in his mind: "You just... blink and she'll be six. You'll see."

It didn't seem like a good time to tell Clark that six was the age at which Tim's own parents started trusting him to stay at home by himself. He can't picture Clark Kent leaving Jon home alone at six. Not that Jon wasn't a good kid--he was--and is a very good man now. But... maybe it isn't about trust.

He watches his daughter as she grips a squish-ball with all the focus she had reserved for a flower petal two minutes ago. He tries to picture her grown past the height of his own elbow, running around, saying sentences with the occasional mispronounced word, her hair cropped just long enough for pigtails...

He tries to picture just leaving her like that. Alone. For weeks. It creates a taught grapple line in his chest, and it makes him want to shove his bo staff through someone' skull.

Because it's unacceptable.

Bart zips in and finds them like that, Tim staring at the floorboards like he's abstractly contemplating murder, and Dianne about to cry because her ball rolled beyond her reach (never mind that she threw it there).

And because Bart is truly the best friend a guy could ask for, he ignores Tim's brooding entirely and scoops up lil' Diane and her ball, and proceeds to somehow juggle the squishy toy one-handed.

Cassie and Kon fly in simultaneously. When Kon amiably claps his shoulder, Tim feels a hint of TTK checking him over, making sure there's no physical reason Tim is tensed up like a lasso around a perp.

Tim merely shakes his head, nodding towards the baby. Kon takes the hint and joins Bart in creating a two-man variety show for Diane's entertainment.

Cassie doesn't stop to take any cues from him. She just drags him to the couch and pulls him down on top of her. Strong demigoddess hands massage their way into his hair, along his shoulders, stroking until he lets the tension go.

Exhaustion hits almost immediately after. But still--because it's important--he murmurs against her chest anyways.

"Taking myself off Gotham patrol roster tomorrow. Shoulda... shoulda done it earlier, but tomorrow--yeah."

The gentle scratching against his scalp pauses as Cassie speaks, "Are you sure? Because we have help. The whole Titans roster is willing to help with babysi--"

He looks her in the eye, and Tim's too tired to guess at exactly what his own expression conveys, but it's enough to give Cassie pause.

"I'm sure." he says, steadier than before. "I'll be on call for big emergencies. Earthquakes. Full-scale Arkham breakouts. But... no scheduled leaving her. Not... not regularly."

Cassie nods and gives him a warm smile that tells him he's done something good and right.

He feels the love circling through their living room like a vibrant living thing as sleep flows over him.

Reviewing Dutch versions as a Dutch bc i can lol - Dinotrux

A kids show that is already very high quality for its targeted audience, also has great voice actors.. but in Dutch?

I am Dutch myself and i personally like watching Dutch versions, i don't think they are so bad as everyone in our country says, i even know lots of them and i am a big fan of some of their works as they try to grow in a country that constantly bashes them for their work even tho they have such good voices most of the time. And i am just a teen 🤣

The Dutch voices

Ty

Voiced by: Jelle Amersfoort

The first thing i like about Jelle's job on Ty's Dutch voice is how he doesnt at all sound like Andrew Francis - he sounds much deeper, also a bit older hihi and he has less voice breaks. Jelle is very good at working with his voice, especially depicting emotions. In Dutch Ty sounds (in my opinion) more realistic instead of like a character. He sounds very mature. You can hear how hard Jelle worked for this and how much work he is willing to put in this. Ty has one of my favourite Dutch voices.

Dozer

Voiced by: Frans Limburg

Frans Limburg is just one of those voices that everyone in our country recognizes. I garantee you that everyone in the Netherlands has heard Frans Limburg in an animated movie / series at least 2 times. No one just knows his name. And that is a HUGE shame, because Frans is a national treasure, mark my words. The passion and the energy he puts into everything he does is just amazing to listen to! Dozers Dutch voice REALLY sticks out with the rest of the crew. Frans Limburg's raggedy, screamy acting voice fits Dozers character and personality so well and it also sounds a lot like Brian Drummond. But unlike what we see with Ty, Dozers voice is in Dutch slightly higher and screams more, unlike Brian Drummonds lower, often more calm voice. And the VOICE CRACKS - They are GENIUS!! Idk how else to describe it. Frans Limburg sometimes cracks his voice when Dozer is screaming or yelling, it really adds to the animated character and makes it very fun to watch and hear. Dozer had a few episodes where he was voiced by someone else (in at least the pounder episode) all i knew is that i wanted Frans back. Frans does such amazing jobs and i loved his depiction of Dozer! Continuing with...

Skya

Voiced by: Yael van Rosmalen

Skya is voiced by Yael van Rosmalen, who has worked with DW and Netflix before with Dragons: Race to the Edge where she played Astrid in Dutch. And as soon as you hear Yael's confident, sharp voice, its hard to forget it. Even though she isnt in a lot of productions, Yael clearly puts a lot of effort in her roles and really gets the characters she voices. Her voice is very memorable and its sounds absolutely great. She fits Skya better then i would expect, i heard her only once before as Astrid in the Dutch version of Dragons: Race To The Edge, wich i watched when i was like 8 or something, (15 now) ALL the time in between i have never watched RTTE again, and as soon as i heard Skya speak in Dutch i immediatly regocnized the voice, even after 7-8 years of not hearing it + not even thinking of it. Almost a DECADE later and i still immediatly remembered the voice. To me that really says something about how good this actress really is in her work, especially if i only remembered her from a show when i was, point 1, a young girl just looking at my screen and not paying that much attention to how a character sounds, but point 2, also not even liking the show that much and after being done watching it pretty much forgetting what it was about. Skya's Dutch voice doesnt only sound memorable, it also fits her character ridiculously well and Yael van Rosmalen, AGAIN, does not sound that much like the original English actor, in this case Ashleigh Ball, and yet she manages to fit into the character so well. I love her voice, i think she is very underrated and she deserves to be in more projects. We need more of this girl, she steals the show! Now lets go further with..

Ton Ton

Voiced by Hein Gerrits

I never really thought about Hein Gerrits and how he played Ton Ton, but something i definitley regocnize is how he does not sound like Matt Hill at all. Matt Hill and Hein Gerrits, their voices are worlds apart, but this isnt bad. I loved both of the impressions, in the case of Ton Ton and his Dutch and English voices i dont really have one i necesarrily prefer, or like more, but i do think Ton Ton sounds good in both languages. When i first heard Ton Tons Dutch voice i didnt really know what to think of it and to be honest i still kinda don't, but its really not bad. I do not think Hein Gerrits sounds bad. I think he portrays Ton Ton quite well, he sounds like he's having fun, his voice fits Ton Ton well too. Heins voice fits Ton Ton pretty well if you ask me, especially when Ton Ton yells, whoops or screams or says the word dude, like Hein knows what Ton Ton is about, he sounds very enthousiastic and like he's having fun. Also i am so glad they kept the word dude in the Dutch version •_> •

D Structs

Voiced by: Paul Kloote

This man. This man right here. This mother ffing man.

Paul's job on this show was just... wow. His work in general is so good i'm not even kidding. D Structs sounds amazing in Dutch. Paul Kloote is already good at voicing villains, i have heard him in more animated shows, like Kulipari where he was the Dutch voice of lord Marmoo, and he sounds exactly like D Structs does (wich made me giggle a bit uhrm) but Pauls acting and the way he fits into his characters is AMAZING.

You know a voice actor is good when they use the exact same voice for each character they voice, yet they still manage to fit into the character perfectly and making them sound realistic. Thats how i know Paul Kloote is good at his job. This man has an awesome acting voice for villains. He makes D Structs sound so realistic and dangerous, like he should be portrayed. Paul Kloote perfectly keeps up with Paul Dobson's original voice for D Structs. From D Structs' angry roars and dialogue to his scared / angry screams and definitley his evil laughs, Paul Kloote can do it all. He made D Structs so real and so amazing in this dub. I had pretty low expectations of Dutch D Structs, but boy was i blown away by Paul Klootes job. Just another underrated actor that deserves more attention. Someones gotta point it out! 🫠

(Whats with all the Pauls in this cast lol)

Digging a little deeper here. Uhm.

Okay, being completely honest, i didnt really like Paul Donkers as D Stroy. His voice doesnt really add anything to the character. Brian Dobson made D Stroy sound like the sadistic, intelligent psycho he is, but Paul Donkers' job was just kind of bland. Ntm he sounds waaaay deeper then Brian, and it doesnt really fit D Stroy as a character. Paul Donkers is a good actor, but his voice just doesnt really suit D Stroy if you ask me, if i think of Dutch voice for him i would rather think of Rutger Le Poole (Dutch voice for Hawkmoth in Miraculous Ladybug) or Simon Zwiers (really good voice actor, was Mattis in the new Ronja - series on Netflix i think) also i am 100% sure i have heard Paul Donkers multiple times before. His voice sounds familiar, but i dont know from where.

Dinotrux in Dutch: is it worth a watch?

It definitley is!

The Dutch actors suit the characters very well and really add their own layer and vibe to each character! I would definitley recommend you give it a try and i hope you like it as much as i did!
