“We are.” Paul nods and soon the bakers are back in the tent. If Neil Josten has a bit of chocolate sauce on his lips then no one comments on it. The same way no one comments on how Kimura keeps fidgeting hand going for his pocket before stopping.

“You all had some wonderful wonderful bakes for the signature bake challenge this week.” Prue starts off looking at each of the contestants.

“You really showed us your creativity when it came to these dessert bars. They really can be a blank canvas.” Paul nods at them all. “It was a hard time for Prue and I to decide on which one showed the most skill and talent.”

“The winner of the Signature Bake Challenge is someone who brought a lot of different baking techniques and textures into their dessert bar this week.” Prue’s gaze stops as she looks at Tiffany.

“Tiffany, your blondies were simply perfection. The wide variety of skills you showed in making each of the components showcase your talent and passion.” Paul explains as Tiffany looks around at all the other bakers in shock.

Then Tiffany's hands went to her mouth in obvious excitement that had been severely lacking from the previous episode's winner. "Oh my goodness! Thank you so much!" she exclaims as she wipes away a tear, turning to Liana who had been sat next to her, "I thought for sure you'd be winning," She says sincerely before Liana gave her a happy hug.

“What are you talking about, yours looked so good!” Liana insists before many of the other bakers gave Tiffany a congratulatory hug.

The camera cut away to Tiffany by herself.

Happy WIP Wednesday! How’s the baking competition going?

Once the last baker left the judging began as they discussed the heights of baking. There had been Liana, Tiffany, and Andrew’s sumptuous bakes. They also discussed the bakes that weren’t quite right whether it be the lack of salt, overly toasted coconut, or runny lemon curd. “I quite liked the pumpkin cheesecake ones,” Sandie insists from the side as they failed to discuss Smith’s bake.

“Oh yes, they had the most marvelous texture of the bunch,” Prue agrees.

“Yes, and the pumpkin flavor was quite good and perfectly autumn.” Paul nods, “However, I found the mixture of textures from Tiffany’s blondie to have given it an edge. I know I gave the handshake to Liana but that one there also deserved it.” he says.

The two continued to go round and round describing each of the top bakes as they slowly came to a decision.

“It sounds like we might be ready?”

Neil was working on making another batch of rice puff treats and Andrew was watching him from across the aisle the way a wildlife photographer watches a lion approach a crocodile in the wild. 

Noel came over to Neil’s station, “Neil, mate…how.” he points at the still hardening concoction.

“Apparently it needs butter.” Neil shrugs as he drops a stick of butter, cold, into the 2nd mix of melted marshmallows and rice puff cereal.

Noel watches as Neil does that with his hands up in a prayer in front of his face.

“I just can’t believe it! I thought for sure Liana was going to win, since she got the handshake and all.” Tiffany says smiling from ear to ear, “Paul came up to me just a moment ago and gave me a handshake as well, even if it wasn’t on camera I still got one. Next time I’ll get the shake on camera.” she says.

The camera cut to Smith, “Prue came over and said she liked mine a lot. That means a lot from her because I love Prue.” He smiles shyly.

The camera cut again, this time to Libby, “I can’t believe I over-toasted my coconut like that. I knew the torch was a silly idea but I got caught up in the theatrics of being in the tent.” she sighs.

The camera cut and Neil was there, “I think I need a new spoon.” He says idly before the camera cut away again.

“Well, we’ve never had someone come up with such an elaborate tale on how their bake met the mark.” Prue says, “I would say points for creativity.”

“Honestly, with an explanation like that we should consider, for the first time ever in British Bake-off history, submitting this to the Tate.” Noel says.

“I like to believe that baking is an art more than it is something that needs to taste actually good.” Neil nods as if he actually believes any of the horseshit that he is saying.

“Making my dessert bar.” Neil answers pointing at the huge bag of puffed rice cereal on his station.

“Oh, you’re making some puffed rice cereal treats. I love those, what are you going to add?” he asks.

Neil furrows his eyebrows at Noel as if thinking that the man is a bit slow, “I’m going to add the Rice Kris-”
