oh my god sorry I'm giggking thanks for seeing the poll too it's lowkey mind boggling sorry like wh.. what.. I have so many thoughts on this but I HAVE to be kind because wdym william afton -> sympathetic villain sorry in general but it makes me like abnormally angry when people are like No.. no he was really a good guy he just had to take extreme measures that led to his downfall.. EXTREME MEASURES?? HAD TO? QUESTION MARK sorry ohh I want to be kind crying into my little paws but haha guys wdym extreme measures that's not. that's
maybe I've just forgotten canon fnaf and I'm like so far off base but what is..wrong..with.. y.. scrunching my whiskers yYUOPEOPLE... YOU.. (you see me throw a chair with my mind and immediately collapse)
NO NO CAUSE . LITERALLY ITS LIEKKKK.
like people can think whatever they want, i honestly dont give a shit in the grand scheme of things, what PISSES ME OFF tho is when people assert that they are correct when they literally just dont have a fucking clue.
never once in five nights at freddys canon has child murder been portrayed in a morally neutral or good light. Never. its literally the SCARE FACTOR OF THE ENTIRE FUCKING SERIES. the good ending of fnaf 3 implies that the childrens souls have been released and fazbear frights and springtrap was supposed to be burned to the ground ending it all, the completion ending in fnaf 6, henrys ENTIRE MONOLOGUE is literally about freeing the remaining souls and literally says that william afton will BURN IN HELL. like literally what more evidence do people need?????
the missing children, the dead children etc etc is literally supposed to be sad. its supposed to be tragic. in fnaf, youre not supposed to root for william afton. IN FACT, you LITERALLY play as innocent bystanders trying to escape 95% of the time in the games. even when you play as micheal afton in sister location, literally doing his fathers bidding, at the end of the game nothing good happens to mike. this task was not noble, he did what his father asked him to do and he fucking died. like its so obvious if you have played the games or just know literally anything genuinely about fnaf.
even casually william afton is depicted time and time again to be generally repulsive, the only times he is seen as good or chill in any way is when hes LYING TO PEOPLE. and even then!!! he still offputting and weird, very few people genuinely want to be around him. in the entire series we only know that William has a single friend, and he KILLS HIS DAUGHTER !!!!!!!! FOR FUCKS SAKEEEEE HE ISNT EVEN SHOWN TO HAVE A PRESENT WIFE. LIKE ?!?!?!??!?!
child murderer has never been a "necessity" for afton, there is no precedent ever set for his character EVER. that would point towards him being grief stricken, that he has ever felt remorse for killing those children. the only teeny tiny little inkling we have ever seen of him feeling negatively about the dead kids is right before he was springlocked. he doesn't feel bad for killing the children, hes scared when hes faced with the consequences of his actions. ofc William 'baby killer' afton isnt gonna go around proudly proclaiming that he kills children, because then hed go to jail r smth. and he doesnt want that, he WANTS to kill more children!!!!!!! there is literally proof via his actions and dialogue in the games that literally just point to the fact that the only reason he does the things he does is because he likes to hurt people, he Likes to kill children. he was never pushed to the extremes, William afton IS the extreme !!
i will be so fr rn. i did NOT spend a chunk of my childhood being a weirdo nerd loser with no friends religious following the fnaf games and lore. i did not put in so much of my effort and time into going thru the games and dissecting and analysing them AGAIN, to be told by some little baby idiot who hasnt even played the fucking games that its all 'up to interpretation' when its fucking NOT !!!!!! ITS NOT UP FOR FUCKING INTERPRETATION WHEN YOU IGNORE THE ONLY CONCRETE FACTS WE KNOW IN THE ENTIRE FNAF SERIES. ITS NOT THE UP FOR INTERPRETATION WHEN YOU LITERALLY JUST IGNORE CANON.
its genuinely an idiotic notion. and like i said!!!!! like it literally doesnt have to be a big deal!!!!!! its okay to not know everything about fnaf, you dont have to lie about it. i promise not knowing all of the five nights at freddys lore is morally neutral, id even say its morally good to not know Anything about fnaf tbh. but i digress!!!!!!
people can think whatever they want, but you literally cannot cry and whine and pretend when ppl call you out for being a fake fucking fan, for openly just not giving a shit about the source material in a space about Celebrating The Source Material. its not up for interpretation when you are just a dumbass.
COUGHS. anyways.... wher eam i................

Broken Mind, Old Soul
This is the first thing I’ve written for my AU. I wanted to showcase the nature of my interpretation of the characters, so forgive me if some parts come off as rushed or weird. I hope you enjoy!
The dead tend to forget.
That was something Springtrap came to learn. After being trapped in the same room, rotting, dying, already dead but still dying at the same time. How did that work? Then he remembered; the remnant was keeping his soul attached to his deceased body. But he could feel himself rotting still, his human body losing more life everyday day. If there was hardly any left. The feeling was unnatural. The whole situation was unnatural.
In that time his soul had been in agonizing turmoil. However, unlike his victims, he wasn’t able to lurk about to satisfy the restlessness growing within him. All he could do was writhe silently.
His memories had begun to slip in that time, lost to the unyielding anger and agony that was consuming him.
"Holy-GUYS COME LOOK AT THIS!"
He had forgotten what it was like to be in the presence of another person. If he could be considered a person anymore.
"Yeesh, the thing looks just as creepy in the light. Hurry up and wheel it into the attraction."
He had forgotten what the outside looked like. His senses overwhelmed with sights, smells and sounds that he hadn’t heard in decades.
"HAHAHA!!"
He had also forgotten that he had helped program the damned suits to follow the sounds of children.
No matter how hard he tried to get to the office, he couldn’t resist when audio played elsewhere in the building. He had already learned long ago-when he was still a person- that the souls were still bound to the programming of the machines they were bound in. The same very much applied to him.
[DING DONG DING DONG…DING DONG DING DONG]
He growled as he watched the nightgaurd rush out the exit. Lucky bastard escaped again.
Daytime mode used to be useful, now it was nothing more than a hinderance he wished he was rid of.
The suit controlled his movements now. It forced him to walk back to his usual starting position. The room wasn’t as blank as the safe room, filled with props of the previous pizzerias.
The irony; to be trapped in a horror attraction based on the murders he committed, as the main star.
Fazbear Entertainment was never known for having tact.
He was now bound to this room until the next night. With a frustrated sigh, he sat down -the suit creaking as he did so - and leaned against the wall.
That pesky guard. He kept toying with him using that damn voice. He clenched his moldy fists.
He’s been so angry ever since he woke up.
He wanted to break something.
More like someone.
He wanted to spill blood, watch the life drain from someone’s eyes.
He wanted to be in control for the first time since being trapped in this damned suit.
And what better way to feel in control than controlling the fate of some poor bloke?
That annoying guard would do just fine.
"Failed again?"
Speaking of annoyances…
"Go away," he growled, not even bothering to look up at her. He knew it was redundant. She wouldn’t leave. He could only hope this was one of their shorter interactions.
"It’s been three nights, do you really intend on continuing this little game of cat and mouse?" The Puppet asked, in an unamused tone that made him want to punch her in her stupid plastic face.
"I’ll do whatever I want to," he glared at the floor next to him. He hated how she continued to nag him like this.
"You have nothing to gain by killing him."
He scoffed. "I’ll gain some satisfaction from snapping his neck like a twig. The place is better off without that annoying rat."
"The annoying rat that is just trying to do his job," she replied, rolling her eyes. "You’re the annoying one in this situation."
He narrowed his eyes and finally turned to glare at her. The Marionette started right back. She was the only other possessed animatronic that remained. All the others he had dismantled. Though, he didn’t know why she wasn’t scrapped with the Toys long ago. Granted she was dirty and somewhat damaged, but she was in much better condition than he was.
"The satisfaction is only temporary you know. Even if you kill him, it won’t last. You won’t be satisfied." She stated, then she leaned forward. "I’ve seen it happen. You feel an uncontrollable rage and want to take it out on whoever is unfortunate enough to be around. But even after the blood is spilled, it’s not enough. It’ll only increase your bloodlust until it becomes habit. Then you’ll be reduced to nothing but a rabid animal."
Her voice was serene and clear, completely the opposite of his own deep and gravely voice. But she spoke with certain gravity in her tone. Warning, almost haunted even. She was clearly dead (no pun intended) serious. And he had a good idea of who she was referring to in this context, a certain golden bear popping to mind.
"Don’t you have somewhere else to be, Puppet?" He grumbled, changing the subject. He didn’t like how familiar her description was to his current situation.
"I told you to call me Charlie, William."
William. Yes, William Afton was his name. It had slipped his mind more than once. He would’ve forgotten long ago had the puppet not stuck around and kept interacting with him. He didn’t know why she insisted on talking to the man that killed her. The people who brought him here dubbed him Springtrap, and the name grew on him.
It was strange. He remembered some things clearly, like his wife’s death, drinking himself into a stupor at Jrs, and killing the missing children of course.
But others, he had a harder time recalling. Like his wedding day, the names and faces of his children, and…why he killed in the first place.
He hated how messy and unorganized his memories were, it was driving him nuts. Just trying to think of the past made him tremble with rage.
He remembered Charlie though. She was the first. Henry’s daughter. They knew each other when they were alive. If anything Charlie should despise him the most, given the obvious betrayal. But she didn’t.
"Fine, Charlie. Why do you insist on interacting with me? Why don’t you stay away like the other brats?"
He knew the others were still afraid of him. He didn’t really care. But Charlie clearly didn’t fear him, nor did she go out of her way to torment him in any capacity as he initially thought she would.
"Because someone has to keep you in line before you add another victim to your list." She answered cooly. That part was true, ever since they got here she’s tried to distract him from attacking the guard, and after he left she’d try to sway him from trying again, as she was doing moments ago.
"And also," she added. "I want to help you too, if possible."
He almost snorted. "Ah, yes. Because there’s good in everyone right? Of course you want to try and save my poor, broken soul." He put a hand where his now physically tattered heart would be, feigning vulnerability.
Though her face has very limited expression, he could tell she was unamused.
"I know you’re mocking me, but yes. I sense that there is still humanity in you. And besides, if I made you see the light, there’d be one less murderous rabbit in the world."
William dropped the facade and scowled, facing away from her again. "Why do you waste your time with this? You should despise me most of all."
"You already got what you deserved. Besides, I was never one to hold a grudge. I don’t have that kind of time." She responded. That rung a few bells in his head. Charlie never liked holding grudges.
Seemingly done with their daily chat, she turned to leave. Looks like this was one of the shorter conversations like he had hoped.
"See you next night William."
And she was gone, leaving the withered rabbit to his one thoughts once more.
————————————————————————
"I’m back." Charlie announced as she entered the room. As soon as she spoke, the various spirits made themselves known.
The children rushed up to her instantly. Though their ghostly feet made no sound. They gazed up at her with the dull but not quite lifeless eyes their spirit forms had since they were freed of their animatronic bodies. Though they still retain characteristics of said animatronics. Like the animal ears and tails and the various accessories. Their clothes had changed to match the color schemes of the animatronics as well.
"Charlie! Welcome back!" Susie greeted cheerfully, bouncing and throwing her hands in the air. Her bib flapping as she did.
"Tell Jeremy that 'hook' is totally valid in rock-paper-scissors!" Fritz exclaimed, rising his pirate hook for emphasis.
"It does not!" Jeremy argued, stomping his foot in frustration and his ears reeling back.
"Why? Hook can beat paper!"
"But it’s not part of the game!"
Charlie shook her head, if she could she'd have a fond smile on her face. This was a common occurrence. Fritz and Jeremy often bickered over silly things. She honestly enjoyed these moments because they got to act like kids again, not bound by the programming of their metal prisons.
She was beginning to wonder if putting them in the animatronics was the right move.
"Did you talk to him again?"
The bickering stopped immediately, and Charlie focused her gaze on Cassidy. She had her arms crossed and a disapproving glare. Evan stood beside her, looking away uncomfortably. They possessed Golden Freddy together, but their appearances were slightly different. With Evan having more attributes associated with Fredbear (purple hat and bowtie), and Cassidy with the current Golden Freddy (black hat and bowtie).
"What else would I be doing after 6 AM?"
"Why do you keep going to him? He’s bad and dangerous!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. Cassidy was the most hateful of all of them. When Charlie started interacting with William she was heavily against it, which was understandable. But Charlie wasn’t deterred. They’ve had this conversation many times.
"You know why." Charlie stated. She didn’t bother to explain herself again. They’ve had this conversation many times.
"Do you really think there might be good in him?" Gabriel asked timidly, shifting in place. Ironically, he was the most shy despite possessing the star of the band.
"He’s a bad person, but still a person. A person I knew. And I have a pretty good idea of why he did what he did in the first place." She said, eyes shifting to Evan momentarily. A grim expression crossed his face. "I want to try, at the very least."
Cassidy scoffed, "Good luck. He’s just a lousy murderer."
"You say that as if we aren’t murderers ourselves." Evan retorted, glancing back at her and crossing his arms. Cassidy twitched and glared at him.
"You-"
"What? You know it’s true."
The other children cringed and held various expressions of shame. Gabriel, Jeremy, and Fritz’s ears dropped and laid flat against their heads. In their rage and confusion they attacked innocent people, thinking they were their murderer. Some of the guards left after the second or first night. Others never left the building.
Though, Evan never killed anyone himself, neither did Charlie.
"Oh yeah? Well if you’re gonna take your dad’s side, why are you too scared to approach him huh?!" Cassidy shot back, poking his chest hard. Evan recoiled a bit, looking conflicted.
"Enough Cassidy." Charlie said, raising a placating hand. "As of right now William is in a state of rage and turmoil, as you all once were. It’s understandable why Evan would hesitate to approach his father in this state. He might not even recognize him."
"But he recognizes you…" Susie pointed out. "Why would he recognize you but not his son?"
"To put it simply; his memories are a mess. He remembers some things, others he’s all but forgotten, or is on the verge of forgetting. He would’ve forgotten his own name if not for me."
"Yeesh, the guy sounds like a piece of work."
Charlie sighed slightly at the new voice. Well, not so new unfortunately.
Kelsey walked in with his hands in his pockets, his usual relaxed grin on his face. He was the first to possess Fredbear, thus his appearance reflected more of Fredbear like Evan’s. He wasn’t a victim of William, unlike most of them. He died via springlock failure, when some bullies shoved him into one of the suits. He was also a teenager like herself. He died around 14.
Everyone had varying degrees of discomfort or annoyance on their faces, except Cassidy.
"Yeah, and Charlie still thinks she can redeem him somehow." Cassidy said with annoyance, rolling her eyes. Kelsey stopped beside her and smirked at Charlie. "Oh yeah? Heh. Pretty stubborn aren’t ya Charl?"
"Yes, I suppose I am." If she could she’d narrow her eyes at him. Despite his chill demeanor, everyone here knew his true nature. He was a despicable, manipulative, bloodthirsty maniac. He lured and killed kids similar to the ones that killed him. But along the way he decided that killing was fun and just became a murderer. Unfortunately, he groomed Cassidy to act similarly. She was attached to him, saw him as an older sibling.
Evan was glaring at him. Kelsey had tried to manipulate him at first too, but thankfully he didn’t fall for it. He wasn’t particularly wrathful anyway, so he couldn’t take advantage of that.
Honestly, the only reason they tolerated him was for Cassidy’s sake. Also because they were literally stuck with him.
"Hasn’t it been years? What makes you think he’ll change now if he hasn’t for the past decades?" Kelsey asked, more genuinely curious than teasing as he usually was.
"Being trapped in an unmoving suit with your own corpse will do that to you. He’s restless and angry. It will take time, but I’m sure I can get through to him eventually." Charlie assured calmly.
"If anyone can help him get better, it’s you Charlie!" Susie cheered with a bright grin.
"Yeah! You can help him like you helped us!" Fritz agreed, confident in her abilities. The others gave their encouragement. Charlie smiled.
"Thank you. And I’ll be able to set you all free too. We’re so close now." Everyone visibly brightened at that, even Cassidy. Soon, they would all be free.
Soon…
————————————————————————
It was night four now.
Another night, another chance to kill that nightgaurd.
Springtrap stalked towards the office with malicious anticipation. It was 3:00 AM and he wasn’t hearing the audio as often, the guard must be getting sloppy. Or the technology was failing him now more than ever.
Whatever, both scenarios meant victory for Springtrap.
He grinned wickedly. Finally, finally reached the office. He could see the red lights blaring inside, and the guard desperately trying to reboot the system. Poor fool hasn’t realize he’s lost.
He stood outside the window, waiting for the guard to take notice of him and freak out.
Then the guard looked up, and they both froze.
This…this wasn’t the same man who’s been here past three nights.
The previous guard had short black hair and green eyes, and he was sure he had a mole. This man had long brown hair tied into a ponytail, and blue eyes, with a scar across his left eye.
He felt like a thousand bells were ringing in his head. Something about this man was so familiar to him, yet he couldn’t grasp why.
His confusion distracted him long enough that the guard was able use the audio to lure him away from the office. The suit took control once more. He blinked and growled in frustration. Damn it! He missed his chance!
Though his frustration was overshadowed by his confusion. He couldn’t help but wonder about the sudden change. Perhaps the previous one quit? Still didn’t explain why he seemed so familiar.
Damn his unreliable memory.
————————————————————————
Mike let out the breath he had been holding. Though he didn’t really need to breath anymore did he?
"So, he really is here…" He muttered. It had been so long since he last saw the Springbonnie suit. Time had not been kind to it, or to him for that matter.
He pulled out a photo from his pocket and gazed at it. A family photo from 1980. Three years before disaster. He focused on the man on the left, standing tall and dignified beside his mother, with a hand on Mike’s shoulder.
"I’ve found you, father."

also what are some of your headcanons for him? i'd love to know:)!
ohh i have so many thoughts about him, thank you for asking! :3c
some general stuff first i guess? i think he genuinely loved his kids! and i think that he also liked kids in general, since he opened up fredbear's and all. i don't think he was the best dad, but i think he genuinely tried. and i don't really like when he's portrayed as abusive because i don't feel like it makes sense for his character.
basic stuff: 6 ft 2 in tall, built like a fuckin twig, scariest gray/green eyes you will ever see. charming bastard smile. missing a tooth because he's definitely gotten into a fight before. wears purple in almost every outfit and dresses more formally than needed. bisexual. somewhere in his mid-30's in 1983
hobbies include robotics, designing animatronics, acting, journaling, and juggling (canon btw)
british. that's not even a headcanon but i feel like it's being forgotten lately (matthew curtis' voicelines for him + he's not gonna have an accent in the movie… sad!)
very afraid of death
has a very high opinion of himself
probably had a cat at one point. i feel like he would
i think his hair would start graying kind of early because of stress. the man's a workaholic and has definitely done more than a few all-nighters :P
i also think he got married kind of early (in his 20's or so) from societal pressure and also oopsies!! accidental pregnancy! so yeah. michael was an accident but william still loved him - but once elizabeth and evan were born william kind of ends up ignoring michael in favor of them. and that causes michael's teen angst to get especially angsty which is why the bite of 83 happens
he 100% used to have a thing with henry. there's no way they weren't at least a little fruity. (from the silver eyes, "a search of his house had found (…) stacks of journals full of raving paranoia, passages about henry that ranged from wild jealousy to near worship." tell me that's not homosexual.) but anyways they both have families now, yet william still lowkey kind of wants henry. but will never have him because they are both doomed by the narrative :) (edit to also say. they are like a divorced old couple tbh.)
his opinion about henry swaps around a lot. sees henry as being superior and better than him even if, technically, william has made wayyy more advanced animatronics. or sometimes thinks that he's the best and henry would be nothing without him.
and now his personality!! i kind of try to base most of it on how he's portrayed in the books, with my own touch added on. basically he's silly! he's a great actor and he's very theatrical. he's also very charismatic, good at interacting with people as well as getting what he wants. but underneath all that he's kind of an asshole, he's really selfish and only really cares about himself. he's egotistcal and he doesn't admit his faults because he thinks he can't be wrong. so yeah. (this actually got really long so i condensed it down. more elaboration under the cut)
gets springlocked and dies in 1993. returned to the fnaf 1 location because he wanted to destroy the old animatronics, thinking that it might free the souls and let him avoid their wrath or something idk. kind of backfired on him.
post springtrapping he's had a lot of time to reflect, but rather than feeling guilty he feels like he needs to get revenge. he wants to kill everyone who's ever wronged him and that's what keeps him going, even in death. (also the only one he might ACTUALLY somewhat regret is killing charlie, because of how it broke his relationship with henry. but otherwise he doesn't feel guilty at all.)
and most importantly, the fnaf 6 ending (with henry's speech) is canon and he's dead after that :) no glitchtrap, no mimic, no FUCKING FEAR GAS!1!1!11
(the original, longer version of his personality here lol) i think that william is actually a very silly goofy guy! he's dramatic, he's an entertainer and an actor as shown by how he acts when he's wearing the springbonnie suit. although he's definitely playing it up for an effect there, he's still kind of uhh. theatrical i think. but he's also very charismatic and could probably smooth talk his way out of prettty much anything, which is part of the reason he doesn't get arrested after the MCI (also the lack of evidence). at the same time he has kind of a weird vibe to him, you can just tell there's something wrong with this dude, like maybe he's trying a little too hard to look normal.
and thennnn there's what's beneath the surface. william is kind of insensitive, self-centered/selfish, and egotistical. he also absolutely refuses to admit his own faults or shortcomings. something bad happened? not his fault! he was wrong about something? no he wasn't! another thing, william is very paranoid and usually feels like anyone or anything could be a threat to him (mostly because of that one passage from the silver eyes, "had spent so much of his life fighting like a cornered rat." and ANOTHER thing from the silver eyes, "he had taken on the mantle of bitter sadism as an integral part of himself. he would strike out against others and revel in their pain, feeling righteously that the world owed him his cruel pleasures.")
at first he kills charlie because he wants to bring evan back, and feels he deserves some kind of revenge on henry because it was HIS animatronic that did the bite after all, right? but along the way he realizes he enjoys killing. and that it feels so good to have power when he hasn't for most of his life. so he keeps going, and eventually all that comes crashing down on him. and it's tragic! because he used to have what many would call a perfect life. but he completely ruined that with his own selfish desires.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Obsolete, Night 5: Can You Hear Me?
Tumblr media
''Can you hear me? I-I've been following you. You wear a mask, but I know what you've been hiding. I wanna give it all but I don't wanna know. I follow you but I don't really wanna go. I heard you loud and clear, and there ain't no miscommunication. Father of children without a home, creator of vessels without a soul; I'll stay the course, I will follow you – show me the way, I'll be there soon!''
 – Stay The Course by NateWantsToBattle ft. CG5 (Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted)
xXxXxXx
''Can you hear me?''
Sam stared at the bunny in pure shock as his voice echoed in her head, loud and clear. He sounded like a grown man trying to do a mascot's voice in an attempt to appeal to a child… or rather, to her. While Sam assumed that this might've been just a part of the game, as she hadn't come this far in her previous playthrough, her experiences with anything related to the Fazbear franchise made her feel paranoid. It didn't help that the bunny reminded her of another bunny she was quite familiar with, both in voice and appearance.
Seconds passed, with the bunny she had named Glitchtrap still waving at her, not doing anything after asking her whether she could hear him. She wondered if he would jumpscare her, but that didn't appear to be the case. Instead, he just waited for her response. Sam knew that she could easily turn the game off and never have to deal with the strange glitchy bunny again or try to figure out what exactly was going on.
There was a strange tingling spreading through her body as she contemplated her choice. Should she answer and learn more about this entity or walk away? After all, she told herself that she was done with anything related to the lore and Glitchtrap looked as if he was going to be part of it, some kind of reference for those who were aware of the now forgotten animatronic known as Spring Bonnie… as well as the man behind the mask.
On the other hand… I did say that I would finally confront the past and the nightmares that had been haunting me. But, would it really be worth it if I end up having new nightmares? Do I really want to risk my sanity for this? Sure, it still looks like a harmless game, but this is Five Nights at Freddy's! There is nothing harmless about this franchise!
Sam took a deep breath and looked up at Glitchtrap, who was still waving at her, still having that wide smile on his face. She narrowed her eyes, wondering if her paranoia was getting the better of her, despite being well aware that she should trust her gut feeling. Should I answer or not? Do I want to make this move? Her internal conflict was driving her crazy.
''Hello? Can you hear me?''
Sam froze as she heard Glitchtrap asking her again. Part of her was screaming in blind panic to take off the VR headset and uninstall the game, that it was too dangerous to be around this bunny, even if she had no idea why. However, the other side of her was telling her calmly to take the risk, to investigate what the game and this entity had to show her. This was also the side that told her to help Springtrap out after he had threatened to murder her.
Sam took a sharp breath, wondering if she could play the game while ignoring Glitchtrap. It was possible, but the thought of having him constantly loom over her gave her goosebumps. She knew that she wouldn't be able to pretend that he doesn't exist for too long and returned back to weighting her first two options – one carrying a lot of risk and the other having none at all, but would leave her without any solution to her plight.
She bit her lip, wishing that the VR headset was wireless, as she felt like pacing through her room in order to clear her thoughts. Perhaps being back in a familiar room would help her with making her decision. She cast a glance at Glitchtrap and then took of the VR headset, shaking her head as she placed it on the desk. She had a small headache, although that was probably because of the video game rather than her encounter with Glitchtrap.
She started pacing through her room, contemplating her options. How much would this decision affect her? Would she be able to walk away from it in one piece, with her sanity still intact? Was it really worth it?
She gazed through the window, staring at the cloudy sky outside. She wanted someone to tell her that this isn't something she had to go through, that this was a decision she would regret. Hell, even having Emma yelling at her that she was being reckless once again would help her with her decision. However, the voice that was screaming for her to stay away from the game was growing more and more quiet.
She looked back at the VR headset, feeling her sense of curiosity rising once again inside her. It was that very curiosity that got her involved with a dark secret and the person responsible for its existence. She eventually started to regret the decisions she made in the past, but there was a part of her that actually looked back fondly on the happier memories. She hated to admit it, but those happy memories hurt more than the bad ones.
William… You're a monster for more reasons than you think.
Sam sighed as she placed her hands on the table, still staring at the VR headset. Her lips curved upwards as she realized what she was about to do and she wished that someone would just smack her upside the head for it. She made so many stupid decisions in the past, so would another one really be make things worse? Sam shook her head. I hate myself. I wanted to stay away from this… and I couldn't. I guess I'm too deep in this mess to get out. Her eyes narrowed as she placed the VR headset back on her head, looking determined. So, let's see what Fazbear Entertainment is hiding… God, I'm so going to regret this, won't I?
Sam took a deep breath, trying to psych herself up. She focused on the excitement she felt whenever she would uncover a new secret, on the adrenaline rush that kept her going. As much as she tried to deny it, she knew that she wanted this. She neededto know, she needed to do something that would give her the necessary answers. She wanted to get back into action.
Okay, Glitchtrap, let's hear what you want to tell me.
As she returned back to the main area, she could see Glitchtrap waving at her again. She could feel her heart race as she heard him again, his voice echoing in her head.
''Hello? Can you hear me?''
''Yeah, I can,'' Sam replied, holding her breath as she waited for Glitchtrap to respond. Seconds passed as she stared at the glitch-like mascot and for a moment, she felt as if there was a strange gleam in his eyes, but there was no response. He just continued to wave at her, still having that wide smile on his expression.
''Hello? Can you hear me?''
Sam rose an eyebrow, feeling both relieved and disappointed that there was no answer. However, the headache and sense of anxiety she was feeling over the past days did fade a little.
''I did say I can hear you, I don't have to repeat myself,'' she told Glitchtrap sarcastically, shaking her head. ''Maybe it's just a game feature. God, this was really anti-climactic.''
She turned back to the monitor, noting to herself that at least she had gotten some kind of answer and that she should focus again on finding all of the tapes, as Tape Girl was obviously the new Phone Guy and if she wanted to learn more about the lore of this game, she needed to play through it and analyze every detail she found. Of course, this was just the beta version of the game, and she still had the official version to go through, but something told her that Fazbear Entertainment might attempt to remove anything that was giving out too much sensitive information.
She took a deep breath, going through the information she had just learned, only for her eyes to widen. ''Fazbear Entertainment wanted to create an authentic VR experience, including re-using Phone Guy's calls and original performance routines when it comes to the mini-games.'' Her gut feeling was telling her that there was a lot more to that seemingly random fact than she thought, but she simply couldn't figure out why it was so important. It felt as if she had a weird case of déjà vu.
''Okay, try to focus on something else,'' Sam sighed. ''I'll figure this out later.'' Sam looked at the monitor, wondering whether she should continue with Five Nights at Freddy's or try the other mini-games. ''I should just finish what I had started and see whether there's anything else to uncover in the mini-game.''
She returned back to the mini-game, shaking her head, with shivers going down her spine as she gazed back at Glitchtrap. Even if he was just part of the game, he was still giving her a strange feeling, creeping her out. She hated having her back exposed to him like this.
What Sam didn't notice was the slow head nod Glitchtrap did, vanishing from the main area as she re-entered the game.
xXx
''Seems like someone was able to sleep well tonight,'' Matt said as he saw Sam leaned against the building that was known as Ricky's Wonder Shack. It was Sunday afternoon and he had been called by Sam to meet up at Ricky's. The moment he saw her, he could sense a sudden change in her attitude. She didn't look any different, but he knew that she was fighting against whatever had been suffocating her during the past weeks. Still, he could sense something dark looming over her.
''First night without any nightmares or sleepwalking,'' Sam told him, her arms crossed. ''Mum was astonished when she didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night and drag me back into my room.''
''What did you do?'' Matt asked her.
''I bought myself the ice-cream,'' Sam said, smiling slyly. Matt snorted in response, remembering their conversation.
''I'm glad that you did. It seems like it really helped you,'' he said, then glanced at the empty building. ''So, why have you called me here? I thought you said that there's nothing to investigate at Ricky's Wonder Shack.''
''Actually, I think there is something that could be investigated, albeit not from the outside,'' Sam told him, walking over to the side door, with Matt following her. ''Also, I wanted to talk to you about that ice-cream metaphor… and about Help Wanted.''
''I see,'' Matt said, curious about what she was up to. ''So, you want to go inside? How are we going to do that?'' Sam lifted up a pair of keys, with Matt rising an eyebrow. ''Where did you get that?''
''I found them… and made copy of them,'' Sam said casually, throwing the keys and catching them. Matt gave her a questioning look, with Sam waving him off. ''Don't worry, I've been in this business for much longer than you think. I know this isn't really legal, but let's be honest, who is going to care? This place is abandoned and there are no security guards, we confirmed that a while ago.''
''If you say so,'' Matt said, shrugging. Admittedly, he was a little excited to explore this place properly, especially after what he had witnessed when he was there last time. Sam walked over to the door, unlocking it.
''Something I've been thinking about was that there are a lot of things I needed to deal with if I want some peace in my life. This is just the start,'' she said as they entered the hallway. She bit her lip, cracking a small smile. ''I haven't been at Ricky's for a while now. Aside from the dust, it doesn't feel like much has changed.''
''So, you want to say that Ricky's had always this dark, heavy aura surrounding it,'' Matt said, crossing his arms as they walked into the main area. There was a stale and musty smell in the air, with dust covering most surfaces.
''Not always,'' Sam said. ''I still remember when this place had opened. There were a lot of excited kids, as well as parents who thought that this was a good alternative to a daycare.''
''Then, the murders started to happen,'' Matt added as he looked around the main area. ''The air is heavy and cold here. I can still breathe, but this is not a place one should be at. It's awful.''
He stared at the back of the restaurant, feeling something constricting his chest. Even though it had been cleaned up, he could still see the blood on the floor, vivid as it was on the day he had lost his younger brother, Devon. It wasn't just an image in his mind, but a memory of this place, left open for those who wanted to investigate the tragedy that had occurred here. He glanced at Sam, who had followed his gaze, staring at the same spot. He hadn't told her about what he had witnessed.
Still, she probably knows what had happened.
''Should I give you a tour of the place?'' Sam asked him, with Matt nodding. Sam then shrugged casually. ''There isn't really much to say about this place, though. I know that you just moved here a few months ago, but you did tell me that you were here before. Therefore, you should be familiar with the mascots.''
''Yeah, Max the Swashbuckling Cat, Dahlia the Swan, Quentin the Hedgehog, Virgil the Owl and the main mascot, Ricky Wolfrun,'' Matt said. ''I wonder what had happened to them. I heard that they just disappeared, but I guess that they might've been scrapped, especially after what had happened.''
''They had been burned to ashes,'' Sam said bluntly, with Matt giving her a curious look, following her when she walked over to the stage. ''There was also another mascot, one the Wolfrun Corporation had never revealed. His name was Raven and he was a blackbird animatronic.''
''How do you know that?'' Matt asked.
''I know that because I found him,'' Sam replied, opening the door next to the stage that led to the back room. It was small, with only a table in the corner, but Sam ignored it in favour for the mirror across it. She removed it, with Matt helping her, wondering what she was searching for. It was obvious that she already knew what she was searching for. Sam then pressed a panel on the wall, opening the hidden door. ''He was right here, in this room.''
She took out her smartphone, turning the flashlight on and illuminating the dark room. There were only a few spare metal parts inside, but otherwise, it was empty.
''He was burned alongside the others,'' Sam added, sighing. ''I wish he didn't leave, though. He was a really nice animatronic.''
''What do you mean?'' Matt asked. Sam was silent for a moment, leaving the room.
''Raven was more than just a robot,'' she said, walking back into the main area. ''He was a person of his own, with a horrible past and honestly, I wish I could've helped him somehow.''
Matt was silent for a moment, then asked, ''What about the other animatronics?''
''None of them had a soul in the same manner as Raven,'' Sam replied. ''The only exception was Ricky, but that was a different story.''
''I don't believe we're thinking about the same Ricky,'' Matt said, crossing his arms. ''At least not the one who had murdered two children in front of other people.''
''No, we don't,'' Sam said. She had indeed heard about what had happened, but at that time, she had been busy with other stuff. She did notice a shadow covering Matt's face, especially when he started stalking about the incident. She hadn't spotted any lingering spirits at Ricky's, but she did agree with the place giving her an ominous feeling. ''This guy was known as Connor Davis and was an employee at Ricky's. He was responsible for the animatronics.''
''He's dead, isn't he,'' Matt said bluntly. Sam nodded. ''I assume he was the kind of person who deserved death.''
''You're right,'' Sam replied. ''He was an insane man obsessed with the concept of death and he sent the animatronics to murder people. In the end, he was burned to ashes alongside his own creations.''
Matt leaned against the dust-covered table, smiling, ''That sounds familiar.''
''You're not asking me why I know this?'' Sam asked.
''You had the keys to this building,'' Matt noted out, with Sam admitting that he had a point. ''I don't tend to pry into people's secrets unless they decide to divulge them on their own. You trust me enough to tell me stuff like that, even though it's something very sensitive, something you would never tell anyone else.''
''I guess I just had the need to unload my problems on someone,'' Sam said casually. ''I felt lonely and it's a bit easier for me to think when I'm talking out loud. You were the only person I knew who wouldn't call me a freak if I told you all of this.'' She then shrugged, sighing. ''Admittedly, I could've talked to my mother about this, but I don't want to burden her with this.''
''But, you're willing to burden me with your problems?'' Matt said.
''That's up to you,'' Sam told him. ''You can walk out now and we'll pretend this has never happen.''
''Sam, you were dangling a carrot in front of me the entire time and now that I'm hooked, you're telling me I can walk away,'' Matt said sarcastically. He snorted. ''Not a chance.''
''Fine,'' Sam said, leaning against a chair. ''Don't say I didn't warn you.''
''Don't worry about me,'' Matt told her in an assuring tone. ''Talking about morbid stuff like death doesn't really faze me. I'd be more terrified of the idea that there isn't anything after death and that we all live our lives only to learn it was all for nothing.''
''Then you'll be happy to know that the afterlife does exist,'' Sam said, with Matt smiling. She then added in a heavy tone, ''Unfortunately, some people fear death and what comes afterwards. Or rather, they want to use death for their own gain.''
''I knew that this story sounded familiar,'' Matt said in an intriguing tone. Sam sighed.
''Yeah, yeah, it's Five Nights at Freddy's all over again,'' she said sarcastically. ''The only issue is that this is my own experience, something I had been dealing with for weeks. Hell, I still feel the consequences of the outcome.''
''So, let me recap. You had been investigating a guy who was responsible for the deaths of several people, as well as the downfall of Ricky's, and this guy died in a fire alongside his creations,'' Matt said, with Sam nodding. ''I can go with that, but it feels like a lot of information is still missing.''
''That's because I haven't told you everything, only the stuff I was comfortable telling you,'' Sam explained, taking another look at her surroundings. ''It's not something I wanted to remember.''
''I understand,'' Matt replied. ''You don't seem to be choked up about it, but you it's still unpleasant to have to be reminded of what happened.''
''Yeah, it is… Still, I decided to go ahead with it,'' Sam said, rubbing her temple. ''Speaking of which, I did play Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted. So far, the mini-games are only better versions of those Five Nights at Freddy's games we had been playing.''
''You mean the ones made by that supposed lunatic developer? Why would they copy his games?'' Matt asked her.
''Probably to make fun of them,'' Sam said.
''Honestly, it feels more like a publicity stunt to me,'' Matt told her. ''They hire a guy to make games about the FNaF lore, then discredit him and call him insane so they wouldn't have to answer for what had happened in the past. It's the same thing as if Jack The Ripper hired someone to write a book about his murders, with his real name inside it and then called the writer a hack who just wanted to profit of a tragedy. Someone else gets blamed, they get away scot-free and people get interested in the product. It's a win-win for them.''
''I absolutely agree,'' Sam replied. ''Still, it feels like that's not everything. You see, I had found a bunch of glitchy tapes in the game that explain the story behind it. A woman, Tape Girl, hid away some key information for the beta tester from the core gameplay files and what I found out so far was rather interesting.''
''Wait a sec, if that information was for the beta tester, how come that you got them?'' Matt asked.
''My Dad was one of the people who worked on the game and told me that a co-worker gave it to him after he told them about my fascination with the game and the lore,'' Sam explained. ''In any case, Tape Girl says that there is some kind of malicious code inside the game that they couldn't fully contain nor understand for that matter.''
''Do you have an idea what that code is?'' Matt asked. Sam's eyes narrowed as she remembered the glitchy bunny mascot waving at her. She shuddered.
''Unfortunately, I do,'' she said. ''Tape Girl saw it too. It is some kind of mascot bunny character which would glitch out from time to time. It is nothing like any of the other in-game characters.''
''Sounds like this mascot is going to give you a lot of trouble,'' Matt noted.
''Admittedly, so far, nothing had happened, but maybe that's because I'm not that far into the game,'' Sam explained. ''I had only completed the Five Nights at Freddy's level.'' She frowned. ''Still, there was more information I had found. Tape Girl talked about a lawsuit which got the project in trouble, and about some guy named Jeremy. She also mentioned a guillotine paper slicer and how Jeremy knows where it is.''
''Is that all?'' Matt asked. Sam nodded.
''Yeah, for now. There are more Tapes, but I need to find them fi-'' Sam suddenly cut herself off as she remembered the hidden message she had found in the image. Don't listen to them. We let something inside. It was an accident. Remember Jeremy. She started pacing across the room. ''I think something happened to Jeremy. If this isn't part of the game, there might've as well been another accident at Fazbear Entertainment and they're trying to cover it up. Not to mention, they let something inside the game – Glitchtrap.''
''Glitchtrap?'' Matt gave her a confused look.
''It's what I named the mascot,'' Sam replied. ''It sounds better than just calling him glitchy mascot bunny, doesn't it?''
''I guess it does,'' Matt said. ''So, what's your plan?''
''Find more information about Glitchtrap and why he is here,'' Sam told him, then gazed back at the restaurant. ''As for this place, that chapter is closed.''
''It's good to see that you're finally putting things behind you,'' Matt said, with Sam nodding. ''Also, about the keys…''
''I think I'm gonna keep them, just in case,'' Sam said, twirling the keychain around her finger. ''I think that once this place is torn down or at least the door is replaced, I can finally breathe in relief.''
''You don't want to leave nothing unfinished, do you?'' Matt said, getting up and dusting himself off.
''Well, you never know what might happen,'' Sam shrugged. ''I think we should go, though. I know Ricky's is abandoned, but someone still might see us. Also, I'm starting to crave strawberry milkshake.''
Matt snorted as he followed Sam outside. He did cast one last, thoughtful glance at the place, at the spot which had been tainted with his brother's blood. He and his brother weren't really close, but he did mourn his death. Still, he knew that a part of him would remain by his side, no matter how small.
Besides, the world doesn't stop spinning just because of one death. It is one of the harsh truths of life, but not many are willing to accept it.
xXx
''Hello? Can you hear me?'' The golden bunny dressed in a purple vest and bowtie chuckled. ''Hello? Can you hear me?'' His laughter grew louder as he danced in the darkness. ''Hello? Can you hear me?''
He was overjoyed when he realized that he had managed to break through and establish contact with the one person who wasn't only alive, but was also familiar with the necessary information, had the skills needed for his plans as well as the ability to see spirits of the deceased and interact with them. Not to mention, thanks to his other subordinate, he had managed to establish a two-way connection between the realm of the living and the dead. All that she needed to do was to follow his orders.
Even though he knew that it still wasn't the time to celebrate, he couldn't help it but relish in the feeling of success. He needed to be patient, as not all puzzle pieces were in their places, but a little victory dance wasn't going to cause any harm. He was now in full control of everything. No one, not the spirits of the deceased nor living would get into his way. The monster they feared was close to breaking out of its cage. He stopped dancing, taking a bow as if standing on a stage in front of an invisible audience. He placed a finger on his lips, as if shushing someone, grinning widely and winked.
''You cannot escape from this haunted reality, so let's set the trapped spirit free. Let the tragedy repeat and the shadows envelop those who fight back. The only one who will remain is myself, reborn in this new body.'' He chuckled in amusement and then waved with his finger. ''Although, first, we need a little sacrifice before we can say 'Welcome back!'. Nothing too elaborate, but still necessary for the plan. Trust me, it'll be a big party, with cake, pizza, familiar faces and of course our guest of honour. So please, let us relive the tragedy.'' He stared at the void, letting out a maniacal laughter. ''Nobody will be able to stop me, do you hear me?! NO ONE WILL STOP ME! NO ONE CAN STOP ME! HAHAHAH!''
His laughter died down, his eyes glowing purple as he gave the invisible audience a confident grin.
''I ALWAYS COME BACK!''
xXx
''Charlie, please stay where you are,'' Sam muttered as she turned the crank on the music box up, keeping the Puppet inside the box. After having played through Five Nights at Freddy's, including Hard Mode, she turned her attention to Five Nights at Freddy's 2, reaching Hard Mode in no time. While she had managed to find three Faz Tokens, one spawning as she was about to die at Puppet's hands, there weren't any Tapes, though, no matter how much she searched. She felt disappointed, but she still took on the challenge.
So far, the Hard Mode versions of the games had been quite intriguing. In Five Nights at Freddy's, her environment experienced a drastic change, the most noticeable part being the grayscale aesthetic. All four animatronics were still active, but were now black a white, and acted a lot more aggressive. Her doors would randomly glitch out, with the risk of an animatronic getting in being high. The nightmare cupcake was a nice touch though.
As for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, there was also a drastic environmental change, most notably being the darker lighting and a dark purple palette displayed. The animatronics were also more aggressive, with Sam even wondering whether she could beat the night. She did die a few times, mostly to Withered Foxy, Mangle and Puppet after not paying attention to the main hallway and being crowded by the Toy and Withered Animatronics, unable to take off the mask in time and wind up the music box.
Still, she was confident that she would complete the night and move on to the next game. It was 5 AM and it was getting closer to 6 AM. One more hour, and she was done with this madness. As for Phone Guy's calls, they were the same as in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, meaning that she would indeed have to rely on the Tapes to learn more about the history behind this game.
What time is it anyways? I have school tomorrow, so I should finish this as fast as possible… YES!!!
Sam breathed a sigh of relief as she heard the bells chiming and children cheering for her, with the scene changing to a gift box. After getting a pack of Disappointment Chips, she returned to the main area. Gazing behind her, she saw Glitchtrap waving at her, now more solid than she saw him before. She had to wonder whether her progress through the game was what made him look like this.
She took the VR headset off, shaking her head and rubbing her eyes, glancing at the clock on her smartphone. It was 11:03 PM and she knew she should've been in her bed, fast asleep. Sure, her mother didn't mind if she stayed up late as long as she was able to function in the morning, but Sam knew that she'd need the sleep. However, she didn't want to stop playing yet.
It's quite ironic. Before, I wouldn't even touch the game, but now, I'm combing through every detail I can find, she thought as she placed the VR headset on. One more night, then I'm done. I need to find at least one more Tape.
As she re-entered the main area, she switched over to the next mini-game – Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared at the menu screen, feeling a little hesitant to open it. She wasn't sure whether she wanted to confront the man who had destroyed so many lives.
''Hello? Can you hear me?''
Sam felt chills when she heard Glitchtrap calling out for her, turning towards him. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the bunny, who was jolly as ever.
''Who are you?'' she asked. Glitchtrap didn't answer, keeping waving at her instead. Sam then sighed, turning back to the monitor. Instead, she took one more glance at the monitor, before entering the game with a determined look on her expression, leaving the bunny behind.
Glitchtrap's grin widened as he watched her enter the game. This is where the real fun begins.

FNAF ARMA AU (continued)
Figured I go into more detail about the events of Michael’s time in Everon, life at home before enlistment, what happens while he’s gone and what he does after the Second Malden Islands Crisis ends.
For this setting, Michael is a combat engineer in the US Army building bases and outposts during the crisis along with deploying to the frontlines to engage Soviet forces and the FIA insurgents on the islands. He turns out to be very well suited to setting up bases, repairing vehicles and even some marksmanship which earns him respect from his brothers in arms during the conflict.
After the bite of ‘83 and Evan’s death, Michael was the only remaining child of William Afton but he couldn’t stand living with his father and ended up running away to see his Uncle Mike Schmidt. Mike and his wife, Dolores, end up go to court against William to get Michael away from him and win the case due to the fact he lost two kids through some of his own machines and lack of proper supervision (Elizabeth is presumed dead despite being listed as missing). So when 1986/1987 rolls around, Michael doesn’t get the call for Circus Baby’s and graduates from High School followed by enlistment to put more distance away from his father.
Because of lack of custody and Schmidt not letting him contact Michael, William has no choice but to hold off Circus Baby’s until 1989 which he finally caved in and tries to free Elizabeth himself. Naturally he finds out just how effective pumping himself full of remnant is after being used as a skin suit by his own machines and daughter. Despite this, he’s proud of her and continues to focus on his work on getting his daughter back and harvesting remnant. He went to the Pizzeria and destroyed the animatronics only to be springtrapped in his own suit and stuck in a hidden room to be forgotten.
After the crisis overseas is resolved with the Soviets withdrawing in defeat and the Union collapsing in the early 1990s, Michael returns home with many others considered heroes and lucky for the world had held its breath in fear of things going nuclear. Thankfully it didn’t and Michael was greeted by friends and his Uncle and family back home. Henry informs him that he’s been selected as the new owner of Freddy’s due to his fathers disappearance to which Michael decides to agree as a means of doing investigations on both his father and what really happened. Naturally he’s horrified by what he finds.
He figured about the whole remnant and projects involving Afton Robotics and has the company shut down and all its assets and projects destroyed while focussing strictly on Freddy’s. He creates a few new franchises which are successful and actively seeks to place those souls to rest. Unexpectedly, one such franchise owned by Henry suddenly burns down with Henry found dead. It’s a blow to Michael but he decides to keep it up. By 2020 and at the age of 49 or 50, Michael creates the Megaplex as an homage to the 1980s, Freddy’s and Henry’s dream. It has had a clean track record since then.
Gregory is the son of Michael Afton and his wife, Michelle. He is a troublemaker like his father before but thankfully not neglected like he was.

Fredbear's Family Diner opens, with two animatronics, Freddy and Bonnie. The two animatronics have spring-loaded endoskeletons, allowing them to be worn. An employee death at a second Fredbear location results in the retirement of the old suits, which turn gold over the decades of disuse. These suits are eventually hidden behind a wall in a closed-off safe room. The restaurant purchases two other suits, a purple Freddy and an all-black Bonnie, to use until the new animatronics arrive. They use this opportunity to rebrand themselves, adding Chica, Foxy, and the Puppet alongside a new Freddy and Bonnie. After many years as a successful establishment, a child is killed outside the restaurant by an unknown perpetrator. Freddy is the only witness. This event brings the restaurant under investigation, leading to its eventual closure. The ghost of the murdered child stays behind, inhabiting the Puppet.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza opens a decade or so later, bringing back the forgotten brand. The old animatronics are recovered, but they are in an intense state of disrepair. A new line, the Toy line, is produced, using parts from the old animatronics and adding the lovable Balloon Boy. This transfers Freddy's knowledge of the Cake Murder into the Toy models. The Toy line has built-in criminal facial recognition, but Freddy's information confused them; they mistake all security guards for the murderer.
During the events of FNaF 2, the murderer returns as a security guard, having recently transferred to the day shift. He begins his killing spree, with each victim being placed in the old animatronics by the Puppet. The five victims inhabit Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Golden Freddy. The Toy line believe the new night guard to be the murderer and attack him alongside the victims. At the end of the night guard's first week, the murderer is captured. The night guard becomes the day guard and is attacked by an unknown animatronic. This event, known as the Bite of '87, leads to the destruction of the Toy line and the closure of the restaurant.
Twenty or so years later, in FNaF1, the restaurant reopens at a new location using refurbished old animatronics. The restaurant does poorly and is set to close within the year. The day guard, who communicates with the night guard through phone messages, is killed horribly on a Thursday.
Years later, the murderer leaves prison and returns to the restaurant to destroy any remaining evidence of the murders. He lures the animatronics to the corner of the restaurant using the Purple Freddy suit from the old days and then smashes them when they cannot enter the back room. This only releases the ghosts from their prisons, allowing them to manifest themselves visibly and terrify the murderer into entering the abandoned Spring-loaded Bonnie costume. He sets off the springs and dies; his soul becomes trapped, becoming Springtrap.
With their murderer finally dead and revenge achieved, the children have completed their mission. The first victim, the one that inhabited the Puppet, gathered the other five in the back room for a birthday party in their respective animatronics, giving cake to others in reference to its inability to eat cake so many decades ago. The six children accept their fate and their completed mission and ascend to the afterlife. The final shot of the Good Ending is of the uninhabited heads after the children pass on.
Three decades later, a new organization decides to turn an abandoned building into a haunted house based on the old terrifying incidents. In the wreckage, Springtrap is discovered and set up as the sole animatronic of the haunted house. A night guard is hired. This guard remembered the horror of their youth and the terrifying animatronics' faces, possibly witnessing a murder or two as a child, leading to severe PTSD and hypoxic hallucinations. After a week on the job, through the ineptitude of the night guard, Fazbear's Fright is burned to the ground, destroying Springtrap and the various remnants of other animatronics. A few relics survive and are sold to a pawn shop, but none are known to still exist.
Except a lone hat.
I haven’t checked my inbox in a long time due to the fact that this blog is sitting pretty at less than 100 followers, but this is from August.
Now, I was never an intense fnaf person, I actually never even played almost any of the games, but I will admit to binging mattpatt’s 100+ video series on the lore and I’ve seen markiplier’s playthroughs (I’m a huge markiplier fan). Not that whoever sent this knows that.
But I beg of you. Why, stranger. Tell me why you have sent me the complete timeline up until pizzaplex. What compelled you. I’m not mad. I’m not disappointed. I’m just incredibly confused.

"okay. so where does the security officer come in? is that jeremy fitzgerald? also the only thing i know about fnaf lore is purple man. "
The security officer in fnaf 1, 3, SL, and Simulator is Michael Afton. I'll explain that better when I get to it. The security officer in fnaf 2 is Jeremy Fitzgerald. Also purple guy is William Afton sorry I didnt mention that.
Ok, so from where we left off, William now only has 1 child left, Michael, who at this point, has run away and has started going by other names to get hired at different locations without his father knowing. While William is goin a killin, Michael gets hired at Circus Baby's rentals (the repurposed baby circus world). While there, the animatronics plot revenge for being forgotten and to escape the building. They confuse Michael for William and decide to spend the next five nights gaining his trust, measuring him, and taking apart themselves to combine into a spegetti robot. At the end of those five nights, they trick Michael to go into the scooping room and gut out his insides and put their spegetti mess into him to puppeteer his corpse. They walk out just fine, until the body starts to rot so they force Michael to vomit them out at the same time Michael’s remnant posseses his own body.
Michael pissed off by his father's creations, decided to start tracking him down and working at every fazbear location to find him (cue fnaf 1).
While Michael’s body was decomposing, William had taken appart all the animatronics and freed thevsouls of the dead children. The children being angry chased after William, who hopped inside the Springbonnie suit. (The springbonnie suit had this mechanism inside of it that is able to switch it between a suit to wear and a robot dancing on stage. This mechanism is called springlocks and is highly dangerous.) William thinks he's safe in the suit so he starts hysterically laughing, but the violent moving mixed with the roof having a leak caused the springlocks to snap shut around his body killing him, but capturing his remnant causing him to suffer the same fate he forced the ghodt children to live through. (And getting renamed to Springtrap.)
Over the next 30 years, Michael fails at trying to find his father. He gets a job at a Fazbear themed fright attraction, still determined to find his father and kick his shins in. Michael's employer finds the springtrap animatronic bricked behind walls and brings it to the fright attraction excited to have a real animatronic. (Fnaf 3) Michael recognizes Springtrap and burns the place down.
A while later, Henry discovers everything that's happened and decides to get everything together in one space. He hires Michael to help him create a fake restaurant and lure everything over, including the marionette stuck inside a bear named Lefty, Springtrap's burnt up bunny suit, the spegetti robot now gaining a freddy mask, and the Baby robot that still has the soul of William's daughter. (Fnaf simulator) after the five nights of gathering, everyone Henry burns down the place without telling michael how to escape. William gets stuck inside of purgetory where he has to relive nights as a guard, keeping off all the animatornics(ultimate custom night)
This is where the series should have ended.
But no Scott Cawthon(the creator) is a filthy transphobic capitalist and made Fnaf Vr which is a game with vr versions of the games + some random other ones. And fnaf Ar.
Both of them have a subplot of William possessing the code and tricking a worker named Vanessa to murder for him.
(Now for the game, that honestly doesn't make any sense, aka fnaf Security breach.)
Sometime after that, someone made a new fazbear location called the Pizzaplex. It's essentially a mall with animatornics and performances for kids. A small child named Gregoy gets trapped there during an emergency lockdown after some children go missing. Gregory hides inside Glamrock Freddy's chest cavity. When Freddy comes online again, he decides to help Gregory get out. Hijinks insue, everyone loves and simps for the Daycare attendent, and when Greogy finds that he can't leave tehough the emergency exit, he decides to start destroying the glamrocks behind Freddy's back and using their parts to upgrade Freddy. Once Gregory can leave the pizzaplex, the player is given different options for different endings, the obly "true ending" being to find the burnt down simulator location underneath the pizzaplex where Springtrap is back, again, and you have to burn him, again. (Can't we just assume burning doesn't work?)
After that, they are working on a sequal to that game to come out and a movie, which I personally think will be awful.
(And controversy wise, after Scott was found giving money to anti trans politicians, he "retired" only to come back for the books and movie, so... he said he isn't getting paid, but it's confusing. I haven't bought anything that gives him money since. And I could go on a bonus rant to what he did to the beloved chara ters Funtime foxy and Mangle but i digress)
Yeah, that's the fnaf lore. Sorry if im bad at explaining anything. I have been hyperfixating on this fandom since 2014, and i can't leave no matter how hard I try
sorry for the delay. i was not in the headspace to give this the attention it deserves last week, so i’m glad you reminded me!
okay this is wild, big separation of art and artist happening.
can you explain again how Michael is alive after he died and his body decomposed? is he inside one of the animatronics still? are the kids remnants piloting him around? how is he getting hired at these places?
why is there a switch to Jeremy Fitzgerald in fnaf 2?
other than that everything makes sense :)

SCP-4161: “Afton”
Item #: SCP-4161
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4161 is to be kept within a sealed container with complete video surveillance from every possible angle. Three guards are to be kept stationed outside the container from 12 AM to 6 PM, but at any other hours of the day only one guard is to be stationed. The guards are to have standard issue weaponry and a device from SCP-4161′s place of origin dubbed a “Spring Lock Wrench” in the event of containment breach.
The entrance to SCP-4161′s chamber is only to be opened during any hours of inactivity for cleaning or maintenance every week by Class-D.
In the event of a minor containment breach, the guards are to shoot at SCP-4161′s leg joints to immobilize it before using the Spring Lock Wrench to prevent further movement of any sort before returning it to its chamber.
Description: SCP-4161 is a tall animatronic at the height of 7’ 3" designed to look like an anthropomorphized yellow rabbit. Its body has suffered environmental decay resulting in various holes developing on its body, a singular ear has succumbed to that same decay and has be reduced to only half of itself, in addition, SCP-4161 has lost any covering of its metallic feet.
Through the holes and other decayed parts of its body, various decaying or mummified organs can be seen intertwined with mechanical components and wires. Testing has proven that these exposed organs and other flesh are not connected to SCP-610 in any way.
SCP-4161 has been observed having inactive and active hours that are usually consistent with only a few deviations on the ████ of █████, ████ of ████, and ████ of ███. No correlation between SCP-4161 and these dates have yet to be made. Just before going inactive it has been observed that SCP-4161 will sit down, possibly showing that these periods of inactivity aren’t involuntary.
For possibly supernatural reasons, any video recording devices that are attempting to record SCP-4161 will result in the video being filled with static. Despite this, the cameras placed within SCP-4161′s containers can still monitor it at acceptable levels. In the event of completely visual monitoring failure, audio systems will serve sufficient enough until visuals are restored. Whatever force does this to video devices does not seem to affect any living creatures.
Anyone caught within SCP-4161′s area without a way to escape is guaranteed an almost certain death if not prepared enough to survive until SCP-4161′s inactivity hours. SCP-4161′s method of killing has been seen to involve psychological torture through the use of keeping hidden and inching closer to the captured person before inducing a heart attack in them through the use of a loud howl and its own gruesome imagery.
Despite its appearance, SCP-4161 moves in a very fluid and human like movements.
SCP-4161′s most often seen sitting slumped over somewhere within its chamber.
Addendum: SCP-4161 has been seen being inquisitive of, or occasionally aggressive towards, SCPs 1076, 134, 2118, 040, 191, 321, and any other SCPs that resemble children for unknown reasons. In addition, SCP-4161 has shown both aversion and curiosity towards SCP-956, possibly for the same reasons he is that way towards the child resembling SCPs.

Some funfacts about Springtrap!Necro that I'm taking advantage of thanks to current mutual roleplays
He can mind control the other souls/animatronics into doing his bidding. He sometimes does it with Bottles, just to shut him up or keep him calm.
He had a fight with Molten Freddy and won. Molten Freddy kinda fears him now (after SB. UCN Molten Freddy got literally murdered by a pissed off Necro).
Most animatronics just avoid him, except for Scrapbaby. She adores him.
In fnaf 3, Bottles and Necro have kinda forgotten about their relationship. But they are at least somewhat aware of being in love with each other. If one of them gets hostile, the other can calm them down with ease.
Necro attracts crows thanks to being full with bugs, if you hear the cries of crows. Springtrap is usually nearby.
Springtrap is afraid of fire, and will go out of his way to avoid it as much as possible.

❝ do i know you from somewhere﹖ ❞
Tumblr media
Had she forgotten him in this state? Probably. He didn't look... like himself anymore. And his dearly departed wife's soul would likely want to forget everything that happened. That was just as well, she would be happier this way, in a body she could live her dreams in forever. That had been his goal with his Ballora.
But this was a strange phenomenon with a ball pit of all things. William should not assume that everything was the same. Though he was skeptical of the multiverse theory, was he not also such of Remnant before seeing it in action?
The withered Springbonnie now called Springtrap, made his way closer to Ballora. Giving a theatrical bow dispite the creaking of the suit and how in pinched at his internals. It was uncomfortable but so was everything in the state he was in, it wasn't like the action could kill him. "Oh? You don't remember? I'm Springbonnie. An earlier model, but I do believe we have met before, my dear." He replied damaged ears twitching a little as he tilted his head up to meet her closed eyes. His own softening a bit as he decided to introduce himself as thus. If this was not his ballora but an alternate, it would be helpful to differentiate him from an alternate William Afton.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Nothing Remains, Night 1: We Will Always Be Together
Tumblr media
''Memory just have been rotten, sweet old times has not forgotten. Mindless scream, misunderstanding, can you search for better ending? Tears of fear show you despair, hug your little teddy bear. Happiness will last forever, we will always be together!''
– Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Song by MiatriSs (Five Nights at Freddy's 4)
xXxXxXx
She shivered, listening to the thunderstorm outside. Even though she was inside the house, she knew that she wasn't safe. There was an intruder in the house and she was currently searching for him, armed solely with a flashlight. She knew that it wouldn't help her much, but she hoped that she would be able to find him.
She was in the hallway, peeking into the living room nervously. Her heart was racing as she anticipated for something to happen and scare her. As she looked up, she froze when she saw a gleam of purple light reflected on the window. Her eyes widened in fear as she realized that the intruder was right behind her.
However, before she could do anything, she felt two arm wrapping around her torso and dragging her back, almost lifting her up. She cried out in surprise, letting her flashlight fall down as she tried to pry the intruder's hands away. However, instead of feeling human flesh and bones, there was only fur and metal.
''Do you really think I would let you go so easily?'' She shuddered as she heard him talk. His voice was sinister, deep and raspy, and he had a slight British accent. ''Don't struggle, it'll be over soon.''
''Let me go, William!''
However, instead of screaming, she sounded more annoyed about her situation. It didn't help that she was smiling, knowing well that she was in no danger whatsoever. She glanced at the intruder, who was grinning back at her, looking rather amused.
''You can struggle all you want, but you can't beat me at this game, Sam,'' he replied, but let her go.
Sam sighed, picking her flashlight up. Her actual name was Samantha Blackburn and she was a teen with brown hair and brown eyes, currently wearing a black T-shirt and jeans with slight tears in them, which was her usual home attire. She then pointed the flashlight at the intruder, who was still smiling.
He was an animatronic bunny with clean, fluffy golden-green fur. He had a purple bowtie tied around his neck and also had a fluffy cotton tail. His eyes, normally silver and green, were currently glowing purple. There was also a tear over his right eye, looking like a badly healed scar. The animatronic was also containing the soul of a serial killer, known as William Afton.
''You'd think that an animatronic like you would be easy to locate,'' Sam said. It was Friday evening and the two were actually playing some kind of Hide & Seek game, having turned off all of the lights, with Sam only using her flashlight to navigate through the house. She was supposed to find the animatronic without him finding her first, but it obviously proved to be rather difficult. ''Although, you did tell me that you're quite a stealth expert, right, Springtrap?''
''Exactly,'' Springtrap replied, only for both of them to wince when they suddenly heard the thunder exploding somewhere above them. The two exchanged glances, albeit not too worried about the storm. It had been going on for a while and the rain had stopped, but the storm was still not calming down. ''Anyways, do you want to continue or should we cut our game short, at least until the thunderstorm wanes?''
''Maybe we should continue later,'' Sam said when she heard it thundering again, this time much louder. Springtrap nodded, turning the lights in the living room on, only for them to flicker a moment later and turn off. Surprised, he flipped the switch a few times, but nothing had happened.
''Seriously?'' he muttered.
''I guess that the storm had knocked the power out,'' Sam said, crossing her arms. Springtrap shrugged, with the only source of light now being Sam's flashlight and his glowing eyes. ''My laptop has a full battery though, so we could watch a movie on it or play a videogame.''
''I don't think it would be a smart idea to have the electronics on during a storm like this one, whether they're plugged in or not,'' Springtrap replied.
''Okay, do you have any other suggestions?'' Sam asked. Springtrap shrugged, not really having anything on mind, only for them to get interrupted by a song suddenly playing on Sam's smartphone.
''It must have been inside my head, I've lost the hope that I have lived. And now, at last, it comes to pass.''
''Mum is calling,'' Sam said as she took out her smartphone, which was playing The Dark of You by Breaking Benjamin, and checked the caller's ID.
''We sleep, we dream, we have no less, along the path we lost our way. It's all a game that I must play, and now the weak that fall return to ash, defeated after all.''
Springtrap felt a little tense as talking to Emma never ended up well for him. Somehow, despite the fact that he was a dangerous immortal serial killer who could easily end anyone's life, he felt intimidated by her. Whenever she looked at him, he felt as if she could look right past all the metal and fur and gaze directly at his corrupted soul. There was also the fact that she was the only person alive, aside from Sam, who knew who he was and what he had done, having figured it out the very same day she met him.
''Fade away to the wicked world we left and I become the dark of you. Say a prayer for the wounded heart within as I become the dark of you…''
Not to mention, there was also the conversation they had about what happened a few days ago, with Springtrap trying to avoid talking to Emma ever since, feeling anxious every time she even addressed him. Sam finally answered the call, putting it on the loudspeaker.
''Hello?''
''Hi, Sam! How are you? Is everything okay?'' Emma asked. ''I hope Afton isn't bothering you.''
''Don't worry, we're both fine,'' Sam replied, sitting down on the couch. Springtrap frowned, joining her on the couch.
''Why should I even bother her?'' he asked, feeling a little annoyed. While he did feel anxious around Emma, he also knew that he couldn't avoid talking to her forever.
''Considering what kind of person you are, Afton, I should expect that something might happen,'' Emma replied, with Springtrap feeling a mix of irritation, anxiety and discomfort. ''Anyways, how is the weather here?''
''We're currently in the middle of a thunderstorm, although it did stop raining,'' Sam explained.
''Also, the storm has knocked the power out,'' Springtrap added.
''Well, that's unfortunate.''
''Where are you anyways?'' Sam asked.
''In a motel,'' Emma said. ''There was an accident on the road due to the storm, so I figured that I should stay somewhere and wait it out. I was just reading the news on my phone and somewhere a tree had fallen over on the road, causing it to be blocked. Luckily, nobody got hurt.''
''I see,'' Sam muttered. ''So, when are you coming home?''
''Probably tomorrow afternoon,'' Emma said. ''I assume you two have planned something for tomorrow.''
Sam and Springtrap exchanged glances, with the uncanny feeling that Emma was reading their minds. However, it wasn't that surprising considering how they were always up to something and she was well aware that, whatever they were planning to do, they would eventually end up getting into some kind of trouble.
''Yeah, we did,'' Sam admitted.
''Okay, just don't burn down anything,'' Emma said in a deadpan tone. Sam and Springtrap exchanged looks of guilt. ''Also, Sam, don't use your laptop during a thunderstorm.''
''But, I didn't-'' Sam tried to protest, while Springtrap was chuckling. ''Why would you even think-''
''As if I don't know you,'' Emma replied. ''Also, Afton, if you think that this is funny, why don't you stand outside in the storm? I'm sure that nothing bad will happen.''
Springtrap looked stunned, with Sam turning to him with a grin on her expression. He then frowned, annoyed.
''Don't give me that expression, Afton,'' Emma added, with both Sam and Springtrap feeling creeped out. ''Before you ask, no I'm not a psychic. It was just an assumption and considering how both of you are silent, I guess that I'm right. Not to mention, you're kinda predictable.''
''You can't be serious…'' Springtrap muttered.
''In any case, I'll see you both tomorrow,'' Emma said. ''Good night!''
''Bye!'' Sam said, cancelling the call. She turned to Springtrap, who seemed to be somewhat disgruntled. ''Are you okay?''
''How does she do that?'' Springtrap asked. ''I know that she said that she isn't a psychic, but still, she's freaking me out with her assumptions. You'd think that I would've gotten used to it at this point.''
''Spring, this is my mum we're talking about,'' Sam replied.
''Yeah, you're right,'' Springtrap replied in a resigned tone. ''At least she didn't sound upset, aside from that comment about burning the house down.''
''I agree that it could've been much worse,'' Sam said, sighing. She started to play with the flashlight, turning it off. She turned to Springtrap, whose eyes were glowing in a faint purple, illuminating her. ''I mean, remember her reaction when we told her what happened?''
''I'm trying not to,'' Springtrap replied, feeling uncomfortable about the memory.
Several days ago, he and Sam found themselves in a rather dangerous situation. A man named Connor Davis wanted to learn how to reach immortality by attaching his soul to an animatronic. He forced both Springtrap and Sam to come to the Machinations Factory, threatening them that he would murder someone if they didn't agree to come. While they did agree, they had also decided to burn the animatronics Connor had created, only for the rest of the factory to catch on fire. Not only that, but when Connor lunged at Sam in order to kill her, Springtrap managed to seize the switchblade Connor was using and killed him.
He deserved to die, didn't he? Springtrap glanced at his hands, remembering that, just a few days ago, they had been covered with blood. He clenched his palms into fists, frowning.
After they returned home, Emma had approached them, looking visibly relieved that they were back. Springtrap knew that she would be worried about them, as he told her that they both were planning on doing something dangerous and asked her to trust him on this, promising her that he would explain to her everything that happened once they came back.
Rest assured, he never knew that a person's expression and mood could change so fast, as Emma went during the conversation from surprised to worried, to angry, to furious, to relieved and was left completely shocked at the end. She was staring at them in disbelief, with both Sam and Springtrap feeling anxious about her reaction.
''Okay, first of all, I'm glad that you made it alive out of that place,'' Emma said. Springtrap remembered how he and Sam exchanged glances of relief, believing that they were off the hook. They had no idea how wrong they were. Emma then suddenly lifted her hand, drawing their attention. She then glared at both of them, with them suddenly knowing what was following. ''On the other hand-'' She took a deep breath, with Sam and Springtrap huddling together in fear. ''WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU TWO EVEN THINKING?! Are you crazy?! Seriously, were you trying to get yourselves killed?! Honestly, I had expected that you'd be smarter than that, especially you Afton! You should've known better than doing something insane like this!''
''I'm sorry, Mum,'' Sam muttered. ''This was kind of the reason why we didn't tell you the whole story until everything was said and done.''
''You are aware that you could've just perished and I wouldn't have been none the wiser,'' Emma turned to her daughter furiously. ''What was even on your mind, Sam?!''
''Emma, this isn't Sam's fault as much as it is mine,'' Springtrap spoke up in order to defend Sam. ''I was the one who suggested to burn the place down. Not to mention, I was the reason why Connor had also targeted Sam.''
''Exactly,'' Emma said as she glared at him. Springtrap knew that, if looks could kill, he would've already been back to Hell. ''You are the reason why she's in this mess in the first place. If it weren't for what you had done, none of this would've happened.''
''I know,'' Springtrap muttered, lowering his head and closing his eyes. ''I'm sorry, I honestly am. I don't want to cause neither you nor Sam so much trouble and grief. If you want me to leave…''
''You won't leave,'' Emma said, causing Springtrap and Sam to look at her. Her arms were crossed and she was still glaring at both of them, but she seemed to be much calmer now. ''After all, you made a deal with Sam, meaning she is the one to have the final say in whether you would go or not.''
''It's not as if I don't respect your decision in all of this,'' Springtrap replied. ''Sam is your daughter and this is your house. I know that you would do everything to keep her happy and safe, and so do I. I understand that I should've done something else, but at that point, I believed that it was the only option I had. I apologize for not telling you anything, but I hoped that you would trust me.''
''Yes, you wanted me to blindly trust you,'' Emma replied angrily. ''Have you even considered that I might've trusted you even if you had told me what you had planned to do?!''
''I didn't…'' Springtrap muttered.
''And this is the reason why I'm calling you a reckless idiot,'' Emma said. She sighed, shaking her head. ''Although, I do understand that you wouldn't exactly be willing to tell anyone anything, considering your people skills, but you should've known better.''
''You're right,'' Springtrap said, lowering his head.
''I hope you'll keep that in mind for next time, as I'm quite sure that you two getting yourselves into trouble won't stop,'' Emma said. Sam and Springtrap stared at her in surprise, realizing that Emma would still let Springtrap stay here, despite everything. She seemed to already know what they were thinking, as she added, ''I am still mad at you, but you're free to go.''
''Thanks, Mum! You're the best!'' Sam told her and then hugged her. Emma hugged her back, unable to stop herself from smiling. She may have been angry at her daughter for doing something dangerous, but in the end, she was happy that Sam was fine.
''Yeah, I know,'' Emma replied as she let her go. ''But, seriously, next time you try to do something insane like this, you should tell me first.''
''We'll try,'' Sam said, giving her a sheepish smile. She then glanced at Springtrap and went upstairs, with Springtrap following her. He was just glad that he could put this whole mess behind him and simply wanted to recover from this whole experience with Connor.
''Afton.''
Springtrap felt chills spreading through his endoskeleton when Emma suddenly called out for him. He turned around to her, noticing her glaring at him. She looked quite irritated.
''Yes?'' He gave her a nervous glance. Emma took a deep breath, with Springtrap fearing that she might start yelling at him again. What the hell did I do now?!
''I just wanted to thank you for keeping your promise and bringing Sam back home safe and sound,'' Emma said, leaving Springtrap stunned.
''I-'' He managed to snap out of his stunned state. ''Do you really think that I would let her get hurt?''
''No,'' Emma replied curtly. ''But I do know that you can be really irresponsible and not think things through.''
That's true, Springtrap thought.
''Hey, Will?''
Springtrap turned to Sam, who gave him a curious look. It was obvious that she had noticed him being once again lost in his thoughts.
''Yeah?'' he asked.
''It's surprising that Mum accepted all of this the way she did, right?'' Sam said, playing with the flashlight. ''Honestly, I thought she'd freak out more, perhaps ground me for life and kick you out.''
''I had told Emma that we were about to do something dangerous, so I guess that she had enough time to mentally prepare herself for anything. Who knows, maybe she thought that whatever we were dealing with was even worse than she had imagined,'' Springtrap said. ''Although, I do have to side with her on keeping her informed about what we're up to. Honestly, I have a lot of respect for her, and I'm glad that she wasn't the one who tormented me in Hell.''
I do hope that kid isn't taking notes.
''I can only imagine how that would've looked like,'' Sam said in a slightly amused tone, feeling pity for him. However, her expression then changed to a look of concern. ''Then, there was that news article about the Machinations Factory. Not only did they extinguish the fire, but they also had found the dismembered remains of Bella Curtis buried behind the factory.''
Springtrap nodded.
''The police has declared the fire to be arson and are trying to connect it to the murder, but…'' He frowned, trailing off. Sam nodded, suddenly turning off the flashlight.
''They haven't found Connor nor the Drawkills,'' she finished his thought. Both of them knew that there would be a word about Connor's death in the news, especially considering the weird stuff that happened at Ricky's Wonder Shack. ''If he's alive somehow… He's still out there…''
''Or, he's still out there, but dead…'' Springtrap said in an icy tone. ''If that's the case…''
He still remembered how he had slit Connor's throat, with blood spraying everywhere, staining his own hands, as well as the Ricky Wolfrun suit Connor was wearing. Despite the rage that was surging through his body, he also enjoyed seeing Connor's shocked expression as he realized what happened.
I told him I would kill him, and I always keep my promises.
''There's no way that Connor had managed to survive this,'' Springtrap muttered, remembering how he had pushed Connor into the flames afterwards. ''Although, whether this is a good thing or not, I'm not sure…''
The two fell silent. There was another sound of thunder, this time not as loud as before. Sam sighed, turning her flashlight on.
''You know, I am looking forward to tomorrow,'' Sam said in a more optimistic tone, looking up to him. ''After all, Freddy's is finally opening.''
''The only question I have is how long it will last,'' Springtrap said. Sam's eyes narrowed, even though she did anticipate him to be his usual cynical self. She, on the other hand, felt both nervous and excited. After all, it has been a while since she had visited a functioning Freddy's location, and even then, she had little to no idea what really was going on.
''Honestly, I can't-'' Sam cut herself off when the lights suddenly turned on. The power had returned and the sound of thunder became more scarce and distant. Sam turned her flashlight off and went to the light switch, turning it off as well, with Springtrap feeling somewhat puzzled by why she turned the lights off.
''Sam?''
''As I said, I honestly can't wait to finally visit Freddy's after it has been opened,'' Sam said as she turned the TV on. ''So, do you want to watch a movie?''
''Feel free to pick anything,'' Springtrap replied, with Sam ending up picking a movie called The Orphanage. According to the summary Sam had briefly checked, it was about a woman who had been hired at an orphanage, with her noticing strange events happening there; most importantly, the ghost children that are haunting the place. She tries to find out what happened and suspects that her employer was responsible for the death of those children. ''Speaking of Freddy's, while they might not pay much attention to me, they might notice that there's an animatronic who isn't supposed to be here. However, I don't think that there will be any problems.''
''When you think about it, when didn't we have any problems at Freddy's?'' Sam asked. Springtrap shrugged, remembering all the mishaps that occurred at every Freddy's location that they had visited. He felt a little anxious.
''You're right,'' he said. ''I guess that we should be prepared for anything once we go there.''
xXx
It was well past midnight, with Springtrap lying on the couch in his room, or rather, the guest room, looking through the window. Clouds were still covering the sky, but the thunderstorm had passed. Springtrap figured that the following day would be sunny as usual, with little to no evidence that there was a storm the night before, unless the lightning managed to hit something. On the other hand, the weather was the least of his concerns.
Currently, the only reason why he was even awake was his own condition. Being a soul animating an animatronic left him in a state that didn't let him fall asleep. Or at least, he still hadn't figured out how to manage that. After all, it was possible to turn an animatronic off, but he figured that being a haunted animatronic made things more difficult.
He was trying to distract himself by thinking about the ending of the movie he and Sam had watched. Apparently, it turned out that the woman who investigated the orphanage was actually dead all along. She had accidentally caused a fire during a mental breakdown and was reliving her own death ever since. The ghost children she'd see had also died in the fire and tried to help her move on, as she was the only thing that kept them from leaving. It did creep him out a little, as it reminded him of his own situation with the children, or rather, that one kid who won't stop pestering him.
Springtrap sighed, knowing that there had been situations where he had been mentally and emotionally at his lowest. In comparison to those situations, his current state of mind was rather calm and healthy. He was more than fine, but there were still moments of anxiety, moments when he was on edge and unable to trust the situation that he was in. He always felt that something bad might happen if he let his guard down and relaxed. It was quite exhausting.
Not to mention, there was still one unanswered question on his mind.
Why am I here?
He remembered Hell, with the memories of the torture and numerous agonizing deaths he had went through still haunting him. He could hear the animatronics' taunts, mocking him and threatening him, promising him an even worse demise for the next night. In the end, despite his desire to fight back, he had suffered from a complete mental breakdown. He was tired of everything and at one point, he just wanted for everything to end.
It was a miracle that I had even managed to last so long. I had been determined to carry on to the bitter end or, in other words, forever.
His eyes were glowing in a faint purple as he remembered the office he was stuck in. He sat up, looking around the room and then leaned against the couch.
I escaped Hell, but why would I have even been allowed to leave?
Aside from his tormentor and the animatronics, there was also someone else there, observing him. He had no idea who this entity was, but they told him that he was allowed to return to finish what he had started. However, he wasn't sure what that meant, even though he had a few assumptions. While his memories were hazy, he believed that this wasn't the only time he had encountered that entity, and that he had actually seen them before.
Or, was it just another hallucination?
Springtrap closed his eyes, trying to recall his experience in the office. It had been another night, but then…
''Shhh… I've been looking for you… and now I will never let you go…''
William glared at Lefty, his purple shirt covered with blood. The black bear animatronic Henry had created for his daughter Charlie was staring at him coldly, watching him as he coughed up blood, knowing that he would suffer another slow death. Then, the animatronic left, satisfied with his work. William knew that the animatronic would return to torment him for another night.
He then leaned back against the chair, waiting for the darkness to overwhelm him. He knew that he couldn't escape and that it was pointless to try and find a way out. The most he could do was to fight back, to win as many nights as possible. The fact that there was a way to win the night, even if the game itself was endless, was what kept him going. Every time he won, he knew that he made the spirit who kept him here only more furious.
It was worth it.
He stared ahead, only to see something in the hallway. His vision was blurry for a moment and he gasped in pain as he tried to sit up and see what it was. Fighting back the agonizing throbbing in his chest, he realized that it was some kind of animatronic. Its eyes were glowing brightly, but the rest of its body remained in the shadows. It looked as if it was fading in and out of existence, its body being dark green and its head twitching.
''Shhh…''
It waved at him, then slowly backed away into the darkness.
It was the same animatronic I had seen before, Springtrap thought. He tried to recall more, but all he remembered was the purple glow in the animatronic's eyes. Who was he?
The animatronic had never attacked him. Instead, it would pay him a visit randomly and then back away, disppearing. He had no idea what the animatronic wanted from him, but if the animatronic was indeed the entity who talked to him, it was clear that he was dealing with someone who was interested in him.
He could still remember the entity's voice. It felt distant, yet somewhat familiar. Going by what he was told, the entity seemed to know him, being aware of his past and offering him help. But, at the same time, it sounded arrogant, charismatic and confident.
''An entity a mere soul cannot comprehend.''
Then I will find out who you are! Springtrap's eyes flared purple.
Aside from this entity, he was also being observed by someone else. That person was a little child, one of his former victims. He didn't know their name, but he knew that they had created the Hell he was trapped in. Once he had managed to escape, the kid decided to continue tormenting him by creating hallucinations that would often drive him into complete madness. It seemed as if none of the despair Springtrap felt was enough to satisfy the kid.
Aside from that kid, there was also Henry Emily, William's old partner and friend. He was aware of what was going on and was worried that William might go back to his old habits as a murderer. While William told him that he wouldn't act like his old murderous self, he did admit that he had his own plans for his stay here. What made Henry even more worried was the fact that William's plans had also included Sam. After all, William had already managed to destroy his own family, so what did this mean for Sam?
I told him that I wouldn't let Sam get hurt. I won't let her end up like Elizabeth, Sammy and Michael. Springtrap's ears lowered, with him sighing.
There had been moments where he had wondered whether he would see his family ever again. He felt regret for letting them die in the most horrifying deaths possible, all of which could've been prevented. Elizabeth had died at Circus Baby's hands, who was one of his creations, only to have her soul trapped inside the animatronic. Sammy had his frontal lobe crushed by Fredbear after Michael and his friends put him into Fredbear's mouth. Michael had been scooped and worn as a suit by Ennard, only for the latter to escape and Michael being left alive, but his body decaying, due to remnant.
I was never personally involved into any of their deaths, but what happened to them was my fault.
Springtrap felt a cold feeling spreading through his chest. None of them had deserved any of the pain and anguish they had gone through. He hoped that they were happy and at peace now.
Even if I want to see them again, I doubt that they would want to see me ever again, especially after what I had done to them.
He had never thought that he would be feeling such an amount of self-hatred and regret, but he did, even though the people he knew didn't believe him. In the end, it didn't matter, as he couldn't turn the clock back. All that was left for him was Sam, whom he had begun to see as his own daughter.
Not that Emma and Henry were happy with that idea.
He had been told by both of them that, considering his current mental state, he wasn't really fit to act as if he were her father. Not to mention the fact that he had destroyed his own family. He understood why both of them wanted him to stay away from Sam, but he and Sam had their own agreement. They wanted to deal with this situation on their own and Springtrap felt that they had handled it well so far.
Springtrap looked through the window, noticing that the sky was clearing, with stars being visible between the clouds. He felt a little crestfallen.
I want to stay, but I feel that this isn't possible.

To quoth Se7en: WHAT'S IN THE BOX, SCOTT
Transcript under the cut.
So now that the angry mobs have left, let’s move on to Part 2: The Box. I know this sounds like a strange topic to switch to after we were just talking about the Brother, but we need to understand the box before we can answer that question. So to start, let’s go over:
[Everything We Know About the Box]
First, in FNAF 4 the Fredbear Plush tells Sammy that they will put him back together. In Scott’s post about the box, he said that the box contained all of the pieces put together. This links the box with Sammy.
Our next hint comes in Sister Location, when Michael says this:
And I found her. I put her back together, just like you asked me to. She’s free now.
People tend to misinterpret this as Michael referring to putting Ennard together, but that’s not the case. Rather, based on FNAF 4 and some things in TFC, it seems that being “broken” refers to the state of one’s soul - if you are broken, you are possessing something, and you can rest when you’re fixed. This both indicates Sammy is indeed possessing something, and creates a parallel between him and Ennard.
However, FFPS contains our biggest hint with Candy Cadet.
Candy. Candy. Candy.
I know, stay with me. Each of Candy Cadet’s stories relates to a different aspect of the lore. The story about the burglar probably refers to the original five kids and how their remnant is in Molten Freddy, or maybe just refers to Ennard. The second story about the woman and the keys likely refers to the Puppet - she gave life to the original five, but in the process let William find out about the remnant, which caused him to kill another five kids.
But then we get to the last story.
Now I will tell you a story about a little boy. He had a red snake that he kept in a metal cage, whose hunger could not be satisfied.
One day, the boy found five baby kittens outside his house. He brought them inside and kept them in a shoebox. He knew that the snake might kill them, but could not bring himself to get rid of the snake. He knew that if he chose one kitten to feed to the snake, it might be satisfied, but he could not choose. So, he went to bed, leaving the cage open. The snake went to the shoebox, chose a kitten at random, and ate it.
After five nights had gone by, the boy was full of regret, and cut the snake open. He pieced the remains together, and put the kitten back into the shoebox.
A young boy had five “kittens”, one of which was “eaten”. Filled with guilt, he took the pieces of the “kitten”, stitched them together into one, and put it into a box.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the story is an analogy to FNAF 4. After Sammy was killed by the Brother’s negligence, he was wracked with guilt. He took the items that Sammy was possessing and stitched them together into one in an attempt to “fix” him. He then locked the final amalgamate into the box and tried to forget about the whole incident, which explains the “some things are best left forgotten” text that appears above it.
This means that Sammy is possessing multiple objects. These objects have to be something that a teenager could put together easily, and they must be small enough to fit into a box.
And if we go back to Sammy’s death, you might notice that as he’s dying, the plushies fade out around him, one by one.
It’s the plushies. Sammy is possessing his own plushies - IE his “friends”. The Brother realized this and stitched the plushies together into one, then locked it away and tried to forget about the entire incident.
But is that it? After all, this would mean he’s just possessing the plushies and has no further lore relevance. Well, we’re not quite done, which leads me to our next topic:
[The Nightmares]
So if you look at the SL Breaker Room map, there’s a dot for every Nightmare animatronic, which seems to confirm they’re real. However, there are two dots missing: Nightmare Fredbear and Nightmare are not listed.
One thing that’s been pointed out by many people regarding the Nightmares being real is that there are quite a few inexplicable things that occur during the games, such as Nightmare Fredbear’s head showing up on the bed and the hospital items that appear. A lot of theories have been tossed around regarding this, ranging from the Nightmares being dreams or even the disks from TTO.
However, I have a different theory. If you pay attention to the 6 AM screen, the numbers screw up before fixing themselves. People blame this on it being a dream… but if your alarm clock is going off, and you’re looking at your alarm clock, doesn’t that mean you’re awake? This indicates that the Brother is not asleep, and something is causing the protagonist to hallucinate.
There’s one other odd thing about FNAF 4 that you might have noticed. The gameplay has a weird obsession with plushies - Nightmare Foxy turns into one, and there’s one sitting on the bed where the Freddles spawn from. Why is there this weird connection between the plushies and the Nightmares?
Additionally, you’ll notice that the animatronics appear in a pattern that matches that of the minigame nights. Nights 1-4 are just the core four, representing the bullies. Night 5 is Fredbear, for the Bite. Night 6 is all four followed by Fredbear, showing the order in which the Bitten Child’s plushies fade away… and Night 7, with Nightmare, is after the Bitten Child has died.
Finally, the box appears at the end of Night 7, with the “some things are best left forgotten” text, and according to the code it was meant to be opened after an unprogrammed Night 8, thus meaning opening the box was supposed to somehow end FNAF 4′s story.
Putting all of that together, I believe that Nightmare Fredbear and his alternate form, Nightmare, are the Sammy’s ghost. He’s locked inside of the box, so he appears as a representation of the Bite and his own death as he attempts to kill his Brother. Ghosts have been shown to cause hallucinations in this series before - thus, it is safe to assume that he’s the one making you hallucinate all of the strange visuals in the game. This is why the Nightmares are connected to the plushies, and why the box was supposed to end the game - once you open the box, Sammy will stop haunting you.
While this explains everything nicely, we do have one potential issue: Scott’s post about the Box suggested that the answer was going to piss everyone off, and this explanation certainly wouldn’t.
Now, keep in mind that I’m less confident about this part of the theory than the first part. I do want to talk about it however, because it does have quite a bit of evidence going for it.
[Sammy, FNAF 1, and how they’re connected]
There’s actually one more hint about the Box that i kind of glossed over in the first part of this video. We do have another hint, and weirdly enough it comes from…
[FNAF World intro]
You see, at the beginning of the game, you’re told to leave breadcrumbs for someone, to help them find their way. After completing a series of minigames, you get a cutscene of the Fredbear Plush, which uses the same dialogue it says to Sammy with the addition of saying the pieces are in place. When you go back to the main screen, you’re rewarded with a statue of a not-crying child.
However, what’s weird about this is that the “pieces” you’re putting into place… are the hints leading to the hidden minigames in FNAF 3.
And what’s even weirder is that every minigame in FNAF 3 ties back into Sammy. We already went over Charlie’s toy Mangle in the last video. Stage 01 shows off Charlie’s kidnapping and involves Fredbear giving cake to the Foxy-mask kid, a reference to the Bite. BB’s Air Adventure shows 3 silhouettes under a tree, which seem to be a nod to the girl outside with her three toys.
Chica’s Party, meanwhile, shows us four cupcakes, one of which follows her around. Judging by the golden cupcake Easter egg, the one moving is gold - thus these represent Sammy’s plushies, as four remain static while the Fredbear plush follows him.
The glitch minigame shows RWQ giving cake to one of the kids. In FNAF 4, Sammy was terrified of the shadows of the animatronics. Scott later gave us this hint about “things in the shadows being misunderstood in the mind of a child”. And indeed, here we see RWQ helping the child rather than hurting them.
And finally, Happiest Day ties back into what the Fredbear Plush said in 4 - that the Puppet would put Sammy back together, IE help him pass on, which fits with her giving the final cake. The cake, meanwhile, could be the birthday cake Sammy never got to have because of the Bite.
But that’s… weird, isn’t it? We see the five kids pass on in this game, along with the now not-possessed FNAF 1 animatronics. Why are there so many connections to the Bitten Child in a game that seemingly has nothing to do with him?
Well, here’s the thing. There’s one thing that I see a lot of people get wrong with the FNAF timeline, and that’s the placement of William’s death. Most people place it after FNAF 1, due to it taking place in the FNAF 1 pizzeria.
However, this is not the case. William walks in and out of the saferoom freely in this minigame before dying there. Then, we hear this in Phone Guy’s message:
Uh, this is just to inform all employees that due to budget restrictions the previously mentioned safe rooms are being sealed at most locations. Including this one. Work crews will be here most of the day today constructing a false wall over the old door face. Nothing is being taken out beforehand, so if you left anything inside, then it’s your own fault. Management also requests that this room not be mentioned to family, friends, or insurance representatives.
Phone Guy says nothing is being taken out and not to mention it to insurance companies because William’s corpse is already in there. Note that he says they’re constructing a fake wall to hide the saferoom, and where does Phone Dude find Springtrap?
Uh, but you know, like I said, we’re trying to track down a good lead right now. Uh, some guy who helped design one of the buildings says there was like an extra room that got boarded up, or, uh, something like that.
William died in the saferoom, so management constructed the false wall over it to hide his body. He stayed there until Fazbear’s Fright found him behind said wall and removed him.
But that’s the issue - it’s Phone Guy who tells you about the sealing of the saferoom. Phone Guy was dead after FNAF 1, so this means William must have died before it.
While you might be wondering why the place looks like the FNAF 1 location, note this phone call from FNAF 2:
Uh, now, I want you to forget anything you may have heard about the old location. You know, uh, some people still have a somewhat negative impression of the company. Uh, that old restaurant was kind of left to rot for quite a while, but, I want to reassure you, Fazbear Entertainment is committed to family fun and above all, safety.
This sure looks like a location that was left to rot to me! It’s likely that after the FNAF 2 location shut down, Freddy’s was forced to move back into their earlier location where the murders took place due to budget reasons. William was the night guard before you in FNAF 2, so this was likely between 2 and 1 - they had already fixed up the Withereds at this point, but hadn’t finished cleaning up the pizzeria before Will died.
This creates an odd gap in the timeline, however. When incorrectly assumed the minigames take place after 1, the kids are put to rest after Will dies before passing on in FNAF 3. Easy. But in actually, the kids vanish before FNAF 1, which shouldn’t be the case as the animatronics are still possessed at that  point. Shadow Freddy even shows up in 3 with his FNAF 2 appearance, which would be weird if the ghosts had changed to match the FNAF 1 models. Likewise, the endoskeletons of the animatronics don’t look the same, which lends credence that these aren’t the Withereds. So what is going on here?
Well, in UCN we get a couple anime cutscenes. Freddy talks about it being his birthday and how Foxy has killed someone, so this is obviously a parallel to the older Brother and Sammy. What’s important here is that Freddy tries to defeat Foxy for five days before Foxy leaves, Freddy swearing to follow him. If Freddy represents Sammy, then that means that he followed the Brother to at least one other location than the FNAF 4 house.
Basically, what seems to be implied here is that Sammy is possessing all of the animatronics in 1. William dismantled the original 5 between 2 and 1. The kids stopped actively haunting the place at this point, though they don’t fully pass on until FFPS, hence why the gravestones pop up at the end. This left an opening for Sammy to possess the Classics in an attempt to kill his Brother, as he never opened the box he’s trapped in. This is why the Classics behave like the Nightmares, and in turn draw parallels to FNAF 4, such as Foxy not moving when you look at him.
This is why there are so many parallels to FNAF 4 in the FNAF 3 minigames - it’s not the original five you’re freeing, but rather, the pieces of Sammy. Not that TFC claims that broken children show up as multiple copies of each other, which we can assume applies to canon. All of the sprites look like greyscale versions of Sammy’s sprite - except for the Puppet, as she’s the only different character here.
Note also that the fifth child or piece here is probably not Golden Freddy, as is commonly assumed, but rather Fredbear - the one with the purple accents - matching Sammy’s last plushie and Nightmare Fredbear. The final minigame is greyscale and it’s too dark to fully see the head in the back of the ending screen, meaning that you can’t see the color of the top hat.
While the idea of Sammy being all the kids in this minigame sounds crazy, think about what Scott said during Dawko’s interview:
Dawko: This game, um, was when things went a little bit crazy with, like, the minigames, and stuff, and the good ending and the bad ending. Um, if you can answer this, which ending really happened?
Scott: I’ve given it a lot of thought as to whether or not I should answer this question. And I went back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth. And, the answer is very interesting, you know?
The answer is very interesting. The answer is complex. However, I’m not gonna answer it, because it’ll only cause strife. I mean, you see the kinda trouble that erupts, especially several years ago. The flame wars that would go on over Mangle’s gender, something as simple as that, you know? You know, I mean, you know, people with torches and pitchforks, you know? Now, yeah, I don’t think I’m gonna answer this one, I’m afraid.
This… seems weird, doesn’t it? The answer is either that the bad ending is canon or the good ending is, and yet Scott claims that the answer is “complex”. On top of that, the game itself implies the good ending is canon, as it’s just labeled as “the end” while the bad ending is specifically labeled as “bad”, making Scott’s hesitation all the odder.
However, this makes sense when combined with this theory. The good ending is canon, as Sammy is freed at the end of 3. But that’s the thing - it’s Sammy who’s freed. Everyone believes that these minigames show the original 5 kids, but the original 5 aren’t freed until FFPS. In that sense, both the good ending and bad ending are canon. That is indeed a complex answer, and one that would cause a ton of confusion and fighting. And it’s also an answer that would piss people off if they found out about it, leading back into Scott’s “would people accept it that way” pondering from the post about the Box.
Of course, Scott’s also said the contents of the Box have changed over time, so it’s possible that this was canon at one point but isn’t anymore, or maybe I’m just overthinking things and none of this is correct. Still, it’s a good thing to keep in mind as we move into discussing what the actual plot of FNAF is.

Note
A box has arrived. In it contained a modern-day spring bonnie suit that looks like it can fit either over the original, or on its own. A note is inside with instructions on how to wear it, and a letter on the back: "Here is the suit my brother made. By the time it arrives, he should be feeling better. Expect a visit in a few days. -Samantha" (@terrariamodbosses)
Springtrap had forgotten all about this. It had been so long, he had assumed that they both forgot about him. It made sense though, that it would take awhile to make. He looks down at the suit that came out of the giant box, he’s impressed. He didn’t think that anyone could match his level in skills with animatronics.
He concentrates hard on the suit, his soul shifting over to the new one, leaving behind the rotten one. He grins as he looks down at himself. He looked much better.
