Ford Explorer deliveries fall Ford has decided to stop selling the hybrid-powered 2024 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, instead focusing on supplying the Police Interceptor Utility Hybrid. [caption id="attachment_83751" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Ford[/caption] Ford Drops 2024 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator Hybrids to Continue Delivery of Police Interceptor Utility The Ford Police Interceptor Utility comes standard with a 3.3-liter hybrid-assisted V6 engine that produces a total of 318 horsepower. The power plant allows police to operate on-board equipment from a lithium-ion battery when the internal combustion engine is turned off. Ford touts the feature as a way to save police money by improving fuel economy and reducing powertrain downtime. Meanwhile, 2024 Lincoln Aviator buyers will now only get the twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Explorer deliveries fell 11.6% in the third quarter.
