That’s certainly a good point, a species that can only sense experience less than or equal to 1% of the audio/electromagnetic spectrum does not want to get presumptive about what is and is not true, that would also be ignorant (as well as arrogant,) but to be “superstitious” is another matter. Superstition is fearfulness - you must be wary of jinxing events, accruing bad luck, becoming cursed or haunted - this fearfulness stems from a lack of understanding, for we fear what we do not understand. But to not understand is not simply ignorant in and of itself, right? Well, in one sense word, yes, but Socrates said “I know that I know nothing” but we don’t consider that a statement of ignorance. Why? Because Socrates approached what he did not know with an open spirit of learning. The superstitious do not use that method, instead when they encounter the unknown they presuppose upon it, and the entire natural realm, a host of malicious forces - on what basis? Fear and tradition,  the two hallmarks of ignorance.
