Further to my previous post, I spent sometime chatting to @mrstevie18 about this specific figure. What I can say is that multiple versions of this character were tested. If I recall correctly this included an all blue transparent 'spirit' figure that has previously been done in the 3.75" line. I'm happy that this was not the approach taken with the final product. Obviously the decision was to go with the version pictured which is part translucent and part 'solid' in appearance. Ultimately it comes back to the source material and in the films, the Force Spirits are not all blue. In Empire and Return Obi Wan effectively appears in colour, slightly faded in appearance with a blue glow around his outline. My last few notes on this Force Spirit Kenobi figure is that the 'ghost' or 'spirit' effect consists a pearl like paint application over the entire figure. A positive side effect of this paint effect is that it indirectly brings better attention and focus to the quality of the original head sculpt. Overall I can't wait to get this figure... yet actually getting this figure will be difficult, given I live in Australia and he is exclusive to Walgreens, which effectively means he will be a US only release.
