I come on this platform mostly to just have silly fun, but seeing queer, and especially trans infighting on my dash is so frustrating.
Friendly reminder that if you don't support all queer identities you can fuck off. Building a community requires supporting eachother, but don't think I will keep people in my community who care only about kicking down others, that's crab bucket behaviour.
Support transmascs. support transfems. support intersex people. support non-binary identities. support trans men. support trans women. support bi people. support pan people. Support Ace people. Support Aro people. support lesbians. support gay men. Especially fucking support black queer people. Especially fucking support indigenous queer people. Especially fucking support asian queer people. Especially fucking support SWANA queer people. Especially fucking support Jewish queer people. And any intersections of the above, and likely the many I've missed.
No one else's identity is lesser just because it is different,
#Kind of a vent post#probably shouldn't post like this tbh#cuz it might invite bad faith actors tbh#But I'm so damn tired about people pretending transandrophobia doesn't exist#speaking as a transfem myself#I don't care about what the specific term is or how âclunkyâ it sounds#Transmascs have a right to discuss their own oppression#just as us Transfems do#And a proper queer community sees us support eachother#Transfems that do not make space for transmascs in their life are not my allies#Same goes for any other queer identity#Some INDIVIDUALS are truly shitty and are not part of my community true#but we don't abandon those in our community for speaking up for themselves#Transandrophobia#transmisoginy#To be clear I am upset with people bashing transmascs and blocking those on sight#transmascs venting/talking about their oppression or the harrassment they face are not doing anything wrong#Wether they receive said harrassment from transfems or not. does not matter#Also anyone trying to argue âthose don't count as queer thoughâ about any group of queer people is a ghoul and not an ally

if the sight of a jew doing culturally jewish things and/or practicing the religion makes a person go đ«” POTENTIAL EVIL LYING CHILD KILLING ZIONIST, APPROACH WITH CAUTIONđ«” they are already antisemitic. and itâs going to take a lot of research and self-reckoning and uhh talking to jews in good faith for them to come back from that mindset. and many wonât undergo that process because itâs uncomfortable and shame-producing. and i honestly canât show grace to folks who have unknowingly fallen down that rabbit hole because the conflation of âjewishâ with âevil and badâ has already gotten jews killed this year. and itâs gotten jews killed for thousands of years. and unless gentiles start unpacking that long-ingrained cultural assumption that Jew = Suspicious, Probably Evil, Destroy Now weâll see more pogroms in the future.
and before you come into my mentions with âbut israel,â please understand that gentiles have never needed proof to believe jews are evil and murder them. right now, antisemites are gleeful that they have a âreasonâ and too many of yâall are just following their lead because you refuse to engage with this information. because youâre not an antisemite, right? you just hate zionists, not jews. and you definitely know what zionism is and you definitely can surmise when zionist is being used as a dogwhistle. right! of course! there is no historical precedent that would lead me to not believe a single word you say.
so like. if you truly want to help fight antisemitism, you have to engage with these ideas even if the process is uncomfortable and shame-producing. you have to unlearn 2,000 years of lies about us and the deeply ingrained instinct to believe we are evil. idk why iâm making this post i just wish gentiles would be believe us when we say Itâs Really That Fucking Dire.

Something I wish more gentiles understood, especially Christians, is that "supercessionism" is just a fancy academic term for "colonialism of the soul."
It's cultural appropriation. It's taking our sacred texts and saying "we know your history, your faith, and your G-d better than you do." It's twisting the deeply Jewish meanings of the Tanakh into somehow being about things that wouldn't happen for hundreds or thousands of years. It's taking the history of our people and egotistically making it all about you, somehow. It's trying to split the spiritual atom. It's trying to sever the self from the soul.
It's assuming you know anything about us because your holy texts talk about us, and because you read our stolen texts through a lens that flatters you. You take our practices and denigrate them, and you take our holy sites and bar us from them with violence. And when we protest this, or even simply try to practice our religion and culture in peace, you try to silence us and stop us. Why? Because you can't stand the sight of the people you hurt and stole from. And the longer the violence continues, the more our ongoing survival becomes loathsome to you. You can't face your people's history and you can't face what you took from us, so you would rather we were dead. But our living ghosts haunt your steps and your prayers. You see us everywhere in the things you took from us and your desperate efforts to write us out of our own story and it drives you insane.
But it didn't, and doesn't, have to be like this.

venus đ 3 attachments: 3 videos
venus đ heard ur back in ct and i fucking miss you so come see me? we can do some more of thisâŠ
pherbo Iâm omw pretty lady, I missed you too
By any and all means, Venus and Paige were not dating.
They never hung out outside of their hookups and most certainly didnât text about anything other than free time, sex, boundaries, sex, weed, parties, and how could I forget: sex.
Or at least it started that way.
They had met through one Paigeâs many teammates, during one of the many late nights where Venus fell victim to her side hustle and was supplying randoms on campus with some wonderful weed.
Paige wasnât what one would call a smoker, but she dabbled in it from time to time (sure she was an athlete but she was also a college student); and one faithful night, when she found herself in dire need of a high she sent the girl a text. Except rather than only getting weed, she received what was probably the best head of her life. An orgasm so powerful she probably blacked out for a few seconds. It started a very deep and consistent sneaky link relationship. They both used one another for sex, and very shamelessly at that.
Venus sat at the barstools in her apartment after arriving back home from running some errands, her tattooed hand rolling a nearly perfect blunt. The humidity of the Connecticut heat causing her to only wear a thin, white, cropped tank top and some True Religion shorts. She didnât think much of the videos she sent to Paige, she had been a tease the entire time the blonde was away, this was not her first time filling her messages with vulgar texts.
But Paige? She definitely cared.
The sight of the girl she so desperately craved with her legs spread in the drivers seat of her car. The 95° heat covering her body in a sheen of sweat as she trailed her hand underneath her shorts. Paige could assume that Venus was soaked, as the wet spot in her jeans practically gave her away. She was saying something nasty into the air, the microphone picking it up, but Paigeâs eyes were simply glued to the screen. The second video, where her shorts had now been discarded and her pink cotton panties were pulled to the side; fingers lolling in and out of her dripping pussy. It nearly made Paigeâs heart beat out of her chest.
And the last video was probably Paigeâs personal favorite. It was a shortened clip from the last time they were together, nearly a month ago. Venus on all fours, tits bouncing, back arched, and her legs spread so wide as she got absolutely recked by the blonde and her strap. The video turned her on so bad she had to watch it again when she got in her car. She simply couldnât get the image of her ass out of her head. To hear Venus moan out âPaigeâ along with repeated curses made her body heat up tremendously. Her girl, crying out her name, in their sex tape. It was unreal.
Paige was in walking into Genoâs office with Aubrey and Jana when the texts came in, it was a very close call and a blessing that they didnât get a glimpse of the vulgar videos on her phone, and that she sported an air-pod in her ear.
After three long hours and practice had ended, Paige sped the entire journey to Venusâs home, rushing up her stairs before barging into the apartment. She kicked off her Nike slides with ease, before navigating the apartment sheâd known very well and finding Venus seated in her kitchen.
âDid you lock my dooââ
âShut up.â Paige cut her off, spinning the girl around in the stool she sat in and pressing her lips to Venusâs. Her lips tasting like strawberries and the slight smell of weed wafted to her nose as well. Venusâs tongue was soft, warm, and so wet. The girl practically salivating over Paige and the feeling of her soft lips.
Venus groaned against the blondeâs lips, snaking her hand to hold the girls slim waist while Paigeâs wrapped around her neck squeezing it with her large hand. The feeling of their tongues clashing forcing a similar groan to come from Paige. The athlete pulled away, nearly whimpering at the sight of Venus and her swollen lips. The girl stuck her tongue out hungrily, Paige meeting it with her own, before sucking the muscle in her mouth. The scene so nasty and pornographic it had both of them falling apart into a puddle, arousal sticking to the insides of their thighs. Saliva had spread to outermost corners of their lips.
âYouâre so fuckinâ fine. What the fuck?â Paige laughed, finally breaking their vulgar exchange and moving her hand from Venusâs neck.
âI donât know if youâve ever looked in a mirror.â Venus commented, turning her chair back around so she no longer felt so little under Paigeâs gaze. She reached for the blunt she rolled bringing it to her mouth and lighting it. She took a few puffs, the feeling of the substance in her lungs relaxing her body almost instantly.
Paige took it from Venusâs lips, placing it between her own. âI gotta take a shower, V. We can finish this in a minute, aight, baby?â Handing the girl her blunt back.
âDo you have to?â
âVenus thatâs nasty. Iâm all yours when I get out.â
âFine.â Was all she responded with, practically huffing as she shooed Paige off to her bedroom to get clean. Though she really didnât care. Venus was so hungry for her she wouldâve taken her right there in her kitchen, sweat and all.
She stayed put in her seat, her growing high making her needier and needier. Paige on the other hand, post shower, was getting dressed in the spare clothes she had left the last time she had paid Venus a visit;boxers and a grey hoodie, before mindlessly snooping around.
She had gotten a better look at all the framed photos that decorated her dresser, jaw slightly dropping when she saw the framed photo of Venus and herself clad in signature UConn navy cap and gowns. Paige in a white button up and dress pants, and Venus in a flowy white dress with white strap up heels. The pair matched in smiles as they stood by one another.
Paige had known that their original fuck buddy agreement had completely changed over the last nine months. Overtime, their scheduled hookups led to sleepovers, and weekend trips. They were no longer just hooking up, a different level of intimacy that had been achieved. It was scary, that all it took was a little lotta bit of sex, for Paige to fall harder for Venus, but she had her in a way that no one else did. She would be grateful for what she had.
The blonde girl kept snooping, before seeing the red vibrating toy that she didnât know the girl owned, innocently sitting on Venusâs bedside table. She smirked, calling out for her and asking her to come to the bedroom before taking a seat on the edge of the bed; vibrator in hand behind her back.
Venus sauntered into her bedroom, looking as delicious as ever. The girlâs slightly toned abs on full display, and highlighted even more by the sweat that adorned them. A blunt between her clear polished fingers and her lashes falling heavy on her red eyes.
Paige didnât have a kink for body mods per se, but she definitely was wildly attracted to the ones that adorned Venusâs body. The full tattoo sleeve on her right arm along with the piercing at her navel was one thing, and the dermalâs on her back drove her insane whenever she had Venus in doggy. But the blondeâs absolute favorite? The snake bites on her tongue. The feeling of the cool metal running across her neck, abs, and pussy was almost otherworldly. Paige fell speechless whenever she thought about it.
âGot some new jewelry, you like?â Venus asked, gesturing to her stomach. The silver butterfly jewelry decorated with three smaller diamonds, the way it dangled was mesmerizing.
âAlways.â Paige responded. The girlâs voice was low, she was lusting over her like an animal. âI saw our picture on your dresser.â
The blunt made its way back between Venusâs lips. She smiled, picking up on the small blush that coated the girlâs ivory cheeks. âWe look cute right?â
âWe look like a couple.â
âThatâs what my mom said when she saw it. Remind me to introduce you two.â
Paige was slightly taken aback, but she had to keep her composure. âYou want me to meet your mom?â
âI mean, sheâs met all my friends. I should probably introduce her to the one Iâm around damn near everyday, right?â Venus shrugged, fumbling over her words as she searched her brain for some sort of reasoning. âUnless thatâs too personal for usââ
âItâs not. I donât mind.â Paige cut her off, nervously biting her lip.
The pair smiled awkwardly at one another, more matching grins adorned their features. Paige called her closer with her pointer finger, bottom lip still tucked between her teeth before clearing her throat.
âUm, I saw something else in here too.â She spoke, not giving Venus a time to respond before pulling the toy from behind her back. This is what she was here for anyways, sex. Not the flirting and nervousness that came with having feelings for her. âWhat you using this for? You know Iâm a call away.â
Venus tried to hide the heat that came to her face, embarrassed that Paige had her favorite intimate toy between her hands. Though embarrassed, Venusâs current intoxication masked it well.
âIâ well you were on the cruise, andââ
âShow me.â Paige spoke, slapping the toy into Venusâs palm and taking the blunt between her own fingers, taking a drag with a smirk. Even being underneath her at that moment, Paige still held so much dominance over the tattooed girl. She knew that, and always took advantage.
âShow you?â
âUh huh. Show me how you fucked yourself when I was gone, V.â
Venus was under a spell. She did whatever Paige asked almost immediately. So she brought her hands to the hem of her tank top, letting the material drop between them. Her full tits made Paigeâs mouth water, nipples hardened by the blondeâs strong gaze. Her shorts followed, shimmying them down her thighs. Left in her panties, Venus opened her legs slightly, showing off the wet patch between them before taking them off and letting them join the rest of her clothes.
Finally lying in bed on her back, Venus spread her legs to reveal her sopping wet cunt. Her clit swollen and covered in arousal. She turned on the vibrator, it was only on the lowest setting, but the feeling of it up against her clit made her let out a whine.
âI havenât even touched you yet and look at how wet you are.â Paige cooed. âMissed me so bad you had to use this? I bet it didnât even get you off like I do. Did it?â
âMm, oh fuck. No, Paigeââ
The nature of Paigeâs words was something that made her feel even more pleasured. âI know it didnât, baby. Turn it up a liâl more.â The athlete demanded, shifting her position to finally pull the black boxers off her hips and the hoodie off her body, leaving her in just a sports bra.
Venus followed her directions, turning it up a few more notches. âP-please, Paige, please.â
âWhat do you want, ma?â
âI-I wannaâfuckâtaste you. I wanna taste you, P.â The girls voice was shakey. The vibrations on this low of a setting did nothing to soothe her desires, she needed something more.
âYeah? Want me to let you eat my pussy? Cum all down your throat, right? Thatâs what you want? Want me to sit on your face, ride that pretty tongue you got?â Paige teased, straddling her waist.
Venusâs hips bucked against the vibrator, lip tucked between her teeth as she looked up at Paige. The athlete began slowly grinding her hips down against Venusâs abdomen, the snag of her clit against her piercing made her jolt.
âAnswer me, V.â
âShit, Yes! Please! I want you, want you on my tongue so bad, P.â Venus whined, desperate for any extra touch, any excuse to soothe her growing oral fixation.
Paige reached behind her, pulling the vibrator off Venusâs clit and tossing it nearby. She scooted her body up Venusâs torso before hovering her pussy over the girls face. Her eyes shifted growing darker.
Paige took the blunt from the nearby ashtray, grabbing the lighter as well and re-lighting it, sticking the substance between her lips and taking a few puffs. She was teasing. Slowly rotating her hips over Venusâs face as if to mock her.
âStop fuckinâ moving.â Venus attempted to demand but it came out as a whimper.
Paige didnât listen. Slowing her movement to brush her clit against Venus lip, a dramatized moan living her lips. Finally tired of the antics, Venus reached for the girlâs waist, pulling her flush to her face and attaching her cunt to her lips.
She was soaked. Her arousal effortlessly dripping onto Venusâs tongue and down her chin as the girl ate her out like a last meal. Paigeâs moans coming out low and deep at the feeling of the cool metal on her tongue running through her pussy.
âAww yeah, baby. Just like that. Youâre doinâ so good.â Paige praised, her head slightly tipping back as she moved her hips faster.
Venus on the other hand had her thighs spread as she brought a hand between them. Paigeâs groans and taste spurred her on more, she applied more pressure on her clit before slipping two fingers inside.
âYouâre such a fuckinâ slut. I taste good?â Paige sunk a hand into Venusâs hair, wrapping it around her hand before lifting up so she could speak.
âYeaâ mâ my God you taste so good.â
âStick your tongue out, for me.â She asked, and Venus did so, allowing Paige to grind her clit on Venusâs piercing. She was growing breathless and Venus groaning against her didnât help. âThis what you wanted? Wanted me to put my pussy in your mouth, right?â
Venus reluctantly removed her fingers from inside of herself, dedicating her attention to making Paige cum. Her high spurring her on further, she was so desperate for the girl to cum on her tongue she would do whatever. Her fingers, coated in her own slick slipped inside the blondeâs pussy as she sucked on her clit. Swirling her tongue around the sensitive bundle of nerves.
âImma cum, fuck, Iâm gonna cum, V.â Paige whimpered, gripping the girls hair harder and tugging her closer.
Curling her fingers to hit that spot, Venus nearly melted away when Paige finally came on her tongue, broken moans and praises falling from the blondeâs lips went straight to her pussy. She was dripping onto her sheets. She didnât stop pumping her fingers nor did she stop moving her tongue, still eating the girl out just a bit slower now.
When Paige had finished riding out her orgasm, she broke free of Venusâs grasp, reclaiming her spot straddling her waist. The blunt they were sharing was long forgotten, now tossed somewhere on the bed. Paige knew Venus would be pissed, so she just decided to make her forget.
She leaned over, tongue out as she licked her own cum off of Venusâs chin. Humming at her own taste and following that by connecting their lips.
The sloppy exchange seemed to be full of nothing but spit swapping. Maybe being high made them even nastier in this moment, but truth was they were also just feins for one another.
Pulling away sloppily, Paige doted soft kisses onto Venusâs jaw, before rising in vigor when she reached her neck. She sucked dark purple marks across the girlâs brown skin. Occasionally meeting the skin with a bite. Paige smirked, a dark chuckle leaving her lips. âMâgonna fuck the shit outta you.â
âYeah?â
âYeah. Show you why itâs just me. You donât need that fuckinâ vibrator, you donât need some other girl when you got me.â
Venus wasnât clueless to Paigeâs obvious possessiveness when it came to her and their arrangement. She wasnât necessarily opposed to it. It was nice to have someone be protective over her in this way, she wouldnât mention it though.
âItâs only you, P. You know that.â Venus panted.
Paige shot up, straddling Venusâs right thigh and letting the left rest on her broad shoulder. She rolled her hips forward, meeting the girlâs sloppy cunt with her own. She was so damn wet, arousal instantly dripping to her thighs.
âWeâre never going this long without sex again.â Paige groaned, feverishly rutting her hips. The friction was a beautiful feeling, Paige had wondered why they didnât have sex like this more often. The intimacy of being pressed against each other in such a manner was addictive, she wanted it all the time.
Venus was so sensitive that the touch had her legs shaking and stomach convulsing. She sat up on her elbows getting a better look at the mess between her legs. Her cunt glistening, the noise of their clits against each other bouncing off the walls.
Before getting to know the girl more personally, Venus never understood the overwhelming campus obsession with the blonde basketball playerâ from both guys and girls. But after a few conversations, which all shamelessly led to sex, she got it. Paige was a charmer. She knew just what to say and just what to do to have Venus falling for her apart for her.
âSuch a pretty girl.â Paige mumbled, pulling her eyes off of where they connected and up to Venusâs flushed face.
Venus reached up to Paigeâs covered chest, muttering slurries of, âtake it offâ until the blonde slowed her hips and pulled off her sports bra. Venus was happily met with the sight of the girlâs supple breasts, hardened pink nipples instantly being tugged on by Venusâs fingertips. âGo faster, fuck me faster. Please.â She whimpered, locking eyes with Paigeâs blue ones.
âFuck, V.â The blonde groaned, pushing Venusâs leg further back as she ground her hips faster. The stimulation at her nipples more than enough to make her let out another loud moan. âThere ya go, chase it, baby. You got it, Venus.â
Her name fell from Paigeâs lips so smoothly. She listened without a second thought, bucking her hips against Paigeâs clit some more. The action of her leg being pressed against her stomach adding a different type of pressure there. Eyes rolling and moans free falling. Paige hadnât heard her being this loud in quite some time, nearly screaming when Paige added more pressure in her movement.
She was hellbent on getting Venus to cum. She would work for hours if thatâs what it took. Her head leaning back, letting more moans fall directly into the smoke clouded air. Paigeâs hand grabbed hold of her neck, pushing her further into the mattress until Venus was whimpering at the sensation and they were both soaking one another and the sheets. âIâm not playinâ. Keepâfuckâkeep moving or I swear Iâll stop.â
âI canât.â
âYeah you can, ma. Just fuck me back.â Paigeâs words were blending together, her dominance as present as ever, but it was still clear she was just as close as Venus was. âMy dirty girl, you like it when I fuck you like this?.â
Venusâs tattooed hand reached to grip at her grey bedsheets as the other trailed to Paigeâs slim waist. Her fingers gripping and guiding her a little too tight that bruises would definitely form in a few hours. âI loveâ I love it. So good, Paige.â She fought to keep her eyes open and maintain eye contact with the woman above her, but it was hard with her orgasm approaching.
Nothing could stop the whines and whimpers that left her mouth as Paige sloppily continued fucking her, the blondeâs orgasm nearing as well.
âIâm gonna cum, P. Donât fuckinâ stop!â
âCum all over me, mama. Want it so bad, wanna feel you cum. Please, give it to me.â The blonde panted, sweat dripping down the bridge of her nose. âAh shit, V, please.â
Their bodies nearly shattered as their orgasms rushed through them like a wave. Paigeâs nails dug into Venusâs thigh as she stilled. The marijuana lacing their veins made it ten times more powerful, Venusâs eyes rolling back as she covered Paigeâs cunt in her cum. âOh my GodâŠâ Paige gasped, bringing a hand down between their legs and running her hand through Venusâs folds and collecting the mixture of their cum on her fingers.
âYouâre so nastyââ
She was cut off by the blondeâs lengthy fingers slipping into her mouth, catching her by surprise but she welcomed them eagerly. Venusâs tongue swirling around as their creamy arousal coated her tongue. Paigeâs other hand dipping between her legs again and prodding at her hole before sliding in.
âCan I keep fucking you, baby? Please?â Paige rambled, voice hoarse from her post orgasm state. Her fingers drove into Venus with ease, toned arm flexing constantly had the girl in a daze.
Venus pulled Paigeâs fingers from her mouth allowing her to finally moan out the way she wanted to. She was such a slut under Paigeâs blue eyed gaze. âOh my God!â She cried, the overwhelming feeling making her jaw fall slack. âPaige!â
âI wanna see your pretty face when you do it again, give me one more, ma.â
Paigeâs fingers jabbed into that gummy spot again and again until Venus was gushing all over the sheets, letting out soft moans and whining chants of âah, ah, ah!â
âShh, just listen to how much youâre cuminâ for me.â Paige said, her hand, once in Venusâs mouth, now clamping over it and keeping it closed. âWetting your bed up like the slut you are. Youâre mine though arenât you, baby?â
Screaming out into Paigeâs hand, Venus came again, tears staining her cheeks and cum staining her thighs as she nodded at Paigeâs words. Her cum spilling around Paigeâs fingers, the white ring around those knuckles made Paigeâs eyes turn to hearts. Paige was right: her vibrator couldnât come close to giving her the orgasms she just did. Her breathing erratic and eyes fluttering shut as her legs trembled.
âP-Paige, itâsâ sâtooâ fuck! Stop! Too much.â Venus whimpered, eagerly clawing on the blondeâs strong bicep with one hand, and attempting to push her fingers out with the other. But Paige kept going, slowing down her fingers just a bit but still applying crazy pressure to Venusâs clit.
âYouâre mine. You hear me? This pussy is mine. Nobody gonna ever make you feel the way I do.â
âIâm yours, P! I promiseâ holy shit iâm gonna cum.â Venus cried, her stomach convulsing and eyes squeezing shut. âPaige, please. I canât.â
âLook at me.â The blonde asked, spreading the girlâs legs wider and Venus came one more time, jaw slack as she had no more moans to give. Her legs shut almost immediately and Paige smirked at the girl underneath her. She had effectively proven her point all while making the girl of her dreams drift off to cloud nine.
Reluctantly, Paige pulled out her fingers before feeding them into her mouth and sucking them clean. The sight forcing multiple groans from Venus under her.
Tears staining cheeks. face all flushed out and bloodshot eyes now even more red (if possible). Paige looked down at Venus in admiration, she was the only one to ever get her to cum like that: and she took great pride in it.
âI want a kiss.â Venus voice now gone from all her screaming. She spoke softly, not really knowing how else to subtly ask her partner for a kiss, so she opted for being very direct.
âOh, Iâm sorry, baby.â Paige apologized, wiping the remaining tears from Venusâs cheeks. âCan you say please?â
Rolling her eyes, Venus smiled. A short âpleaseâ escaping her mouth. Paige happily leaned into her, removing her legs from in between Venusâs and hovering over her. The blonde placed a soft kiss to her lips, their tongues almost instantly meshing together. Venus moaned at her taste on Paigeâs lips, sloppily kissing her back in an attempt to catch her breath as her legs hooked around the athleteâs waist.
âAww, you like how you taste?â The blonde chuckled.
âShut up. Freak.â Venus was too fucked out and definitely too high to keep up. She pulled away and nestled her head into Paigeâs neck, wrapping her arms around the girl and lazily flipping them over to straddle her. âIâm yours, huh? Sounds awfully relationship like to me.â
âAre you complaining?â
âI-I donât know.â Venus admitted, âI like it when youâre possessive, even though you pretend youâre not. Youâre obsessed with me.â
Paige adjusted her head to look up at Venus rather than her body, her eyebrows furrowed. All the words she wanted to say: I want to be with you, I need you, I love you, all suddenly getting stuck in the back of her throat. âMaybe I am.â She decided to respond with. âCrazy âbout you, I canât lie.â
Venus hummed, slightly nodding her head as she looked at her, unable her growing blush. âI might be crazy âbout you too, P.â Her fingers traced over the hickies sheâd left across the ivory skin. âWe made such a mess.â Venus laughed, briefly changing the topic.
âWe can clean it up later. I wanna cuddle.â
âPaigeââ
âNo.â
ââThis bed is filthy, and I need to shower, and we said no more sleepovers.â
âJust ten minutes, Venus.â Paige wined, pulling Venus to lay down next to her, her blue eyes drinking in all of Venusâs gloryâ somehow finding her even more gorgeous in her fucked out state. âIâll be outta your hair after, I promise.â
âFive minutes. Thatâs it.â
âIâll take it.â Paige mumbled, draping her arms around Venus warm body and shutting her eyes as she rested her head on Venusâs shoulder.
It was not only five minutes and Paige definitely did sleep over again.

My husband moved us together from our beautiful Moroccan countryside life to this inhospitable and lonely American metropolis to pursue his lifelong dream. The accumulating wealth left me with lonelier times and less moment with him as his job drowned him while he decided to boarded the twins to this private boarding school where most of his friends placed their kids into. The isolation he confined me into when we started here caused me to be practically friendless and it's not like my English is that fluent. I also hated how people perceived me due to my look and background, so I eventually "resigned" from the peering public eye and never really went out unless it's very necessary. So, can you blame me when I tapped into my ancestral roots and decided to forge my own happiness?
Hany here is just the latest addition of my growing collection, and I love how his cockiness is just so infectious everytime I phased my consciousness into him, I simply felt like I have no more worries in the world
It's always a delight for me to just be out there, no shirt on and having the ability to move my muscles the way men can do all of the amazing tricks that their bodies can pull off.
Hany, my cocky bachelor neighbor, is quite a tricky one to capture as he's mostly alert for most of the time. But when he knocked on my door one night with my husband nowhere in sight, clearly drunk from the way he slurred his words and the intense smell of alcohol mixed with his musk, I took that opportunity. Instead of taking him back to his unit, I phased out from my body and went straight to met his soul. The weakened and half-conscious state of the soul allowed me to simply moved him aside and planted my control over his physique. Then, from there, I use Hany's body to give my frozen body a kiss as a way to build a "connecting bridge" as my soul transferred back to my body but at the same time, our body is connected. Ever since that moment, I can simply drowse off or focused myself a bit to be able to feel what Hany is feeling or even better, controlling his body right away to do what I want him to do
It wasn't this powerful and complex at first. My earliest subject was this drained construction worker that I saw everyday working on the site a couple building from mine. I've tried to phase out a couple times before but none of it worked because I realized that the soul and/or the body managed to resist me. So, looking at the hard-working men in hard hat and hi-viz, I decided to took a leap of faith and phased out from my body. Why I selected the body in particular? For starter, I saw him smoking weed before, and not just once, so I deduced that he probably smoked his fair share of weed for the day and the cigarette in his mouth meant that he's in a sort of relaxed state.

Other reason? Well, I heard him once in the bodega talking about his "fucked sleeping schedule" and the lack of "sex from the noisy demanding bitch" of a girlfriend who worked the same graveyard shift with him as of now, so I knew he must be stressed and mentally drained. Sounds like an easy target, and he was that easy, I slipped in and out of him for 1 month straight with no resistant

So many firsts happened when I was inside Dezz. My first (I lost count on how many times after just 2 weeks) orgasm as a man, my first sex with a girl, my first deadlift, my first fight, just endless adventure. I also learned about building the connection during my time inside Dezz. It's simply out of pure instinct and in a the spirit of experimentation, but I tried to transfer back in a more discreet and less exhaustive manner so I booked this motel and left the door unlocked, phased into Dezz and then drove his truck to the said motel as I basically made out with myself. When our lips connected and even before Dezz cock slipped into me, I found myself staring at Dezz scruffy face right before he passed out. I ran away from that motel room, sensing something is different from that kiss, but I brushed it off and let Dezz sorted himself out back to whatever routine he's having. Later that evening, around an hour or so before the time Dezz started his shift and as I tried to get some sleep, somehow I felt this pulsating sensation from my clitoris and that's when my vision started to get glitchy for the first time. One second I saw my room and then the following second, a slender statuesque figure sat on top of a scruffy happy trail I knew belonged to Dezz. As he nutted inside his girl, I was leaking from the "ghostly" experience, but that led me to the groundbreaking "connection" that I always utilized ever since
Dezz is my first. Hany is my latest. But those two just cannot compete with Chris the Beast.....

Oh that one is the craziest, and maybe I'll share more about my time inside of Steve and the others when I have more time. My husband is arriving soon and I need to phase out from Hany now if I wanna be safe and look more presentable to welcome my husband.

Just a random thought about how Alastor and Vox mustâve been really good friends before everything fell apart. Because Alastor knows how to make a video ad, he knows how to set things up for a movie/video shoot, things that had nothing to do with his medium, that he probably learned how to do because of Vox, because he was willing to try and learn from or for Vox. And Vox literally welcomes Alastor back home when he finds out heâs returned, has literally counted the years Alastorâs been missing when no one else seemed to know, and fashioned his clothing style to match Alastorâs (assuming itâs not just a case of everyone gets a pinstripe suit!), uses the same techniques Alastor taught Charlie about how smiling can be a tool to keep you ahead of the game.
And how it all fell apart and it wasnât just Vox that was hurt in the process. Because you canât tell me the man who hates TVs and modern tech due to its association with Vox doesnât feel anything for what friendship they had and lost. Who snarls at the mere sight of him on a screen (admittedly while also dissing Alastor), who went straight back to his radio tower to diss Vox right back (and absolutely crush him lol), before threatening him against taking action, privately, twice. Alastorâs just better at hiding how much itâs affected him, and doesnât let the bitterness of what used to be consume his every waking thought.
And maybe thatâs the difference between how they view their old relationship and how the fandom seems to view it. Alastorâs upset about it, sure. Heâs bitter now about Vox and everything Vox represents because heâs a past friendship that failed, but heâs also moved on with his life. Vox hasnât. Vox still obsesses over Alastor, in the way he dresses, the way he talks, how he presents himself. Itâs all reminiscent of Alastor. And when he finds out Alastorâs returned, the first thing he does is draw attention to how Alastorâs back! Talk in a roundabout way about how much heâs missed him! Has wondered where heâs been? Sends a spy into the hotel to, well, spy on Alastor! And when that doesnât work, Vox continues to stalk Alastor through his drones instead. (And then gets off on seeing Alastor get beat up.)
Vox very much has not moved on from whatever friendship theyâd had before. He hasnât moved on from Alastor. (Or from his heavily implied obsessive crush).
We donât know what happened between them, aside that itâs complicated and sad, that they were friends, and now theyâre very much not, and that maybe part of the reason why is because Alastor rejected Voxâs request to join his team (upend his entire life to partner with Vox, assuming Alastor always worked solo and what the Vees currently have is what Vox had wanted with Alastor with his request). We can assume maybe part of why they fell apart was because Vox wanted something more from his relationship with Alastor, something Alastor could not and did not want to give him. Or maybe they just grew apart, grew distant. Vox constantly upgrading and changing and keeping up with the newest trends, chasing whatever new Thing thatâll keep him relevant, while Alastor remained set in his ways because heâs not looking for the approval of the masses.
Anyways, all this to say: when I, and I assume most other OneWayBroadcast fans talk about one-sided radiostatic, it is specifically about how Vox has a one-sided romantic/sexual attraction/crush on Alastor, that Alastor does not return, that has now turned into a one-sided obsession over Alastor. Not that their entire friendship was completely one-sided. I think saying that Vox was the only one who was ever invested in their relationship is a rather bad faith interpretation of Alastorâs character, but also does not do their relationship justice at all. It minimizes Voxâs responsibility in the fallout of their friendship, and puts the blame only on Alastor. It takes away all the juicy complexities of Voxâs character, how heâs bad person whoâs done and is doing bad things, and paints him as an innocent victim to âAlastorâs manipulationâ.
Thatâs not to say Alastor was completely innocent in the fallout either. But I hear a lot more about how the fandom woobifies Vox in their relationship than I do Alastor.

WHAT IF...? â Soldier Boy/Ben (1)
Summary: Ben, now as your husband, gives up Vought for good and retires along with you far away from the spotlight and the big cities once you're pregnant with your first child. He knows better than to make the same mistakes his father did.
Pairing: Soldier Boy/Ben x female reader.
Word count: 800.
Warnings: some angst, hurt/comfort, pregnancy, AU where Soldier Boy was never with Crimson Countess, some OOC from Ben? idk he's soft in here.
Notes: this is an AU I had in mind, based on this one shot I did before, but now with Ben and the reader being the good parents Homelander always needed. Is not necessary to read that one but this takes place in 1984, before Soldier Boy goes to Nicaragua. I might update with short drabbles with random scenarios and domestic situations between them, but for now take this. Hope you like it!
GEN MASTERLIST! â DRABBLES MASTERLIST!
taglist is here!
PART 1
1984
âSo, how is it now for Americaâs son to retire like this?â the journalist asked.
Ben gave him a charming smile, eyes bright like diamonds as the camera flashes took pictures everywhere at the press conference.
âIs what I always wanted,â he beamed.
The time for questions was over, but still you heard through the crowd all the inquiries and thirst for gossip from the journalists in the room. Soldier Boy stood up, posing for the last time with his green suit and shield hanging on his arm.
âWhoâs the lucky lady?â
âDo you plan on having kids?â
âWill your kids be supes like you?â
âHow many children you want, Soldier Boy?â
âHowâd you meet her?â
âSoldier Boy, give us her name!â
You turned off the TV as the conference ended and took in sight of your surroundings. It was your home, finally. The place youâd share with your husband forever. And even though the conference was filmed a couple of weeks ago, Ben agreeing to retirement was still fresh in your mind. Ever since you talked about marriage and settling down a year ago, this was one of your conditions. Being a supe was dangerous, more so with Vought behind, and you wouldnât expose your future legacy like that. You were lucky enough for Ben to understand that. He wouldnât want to put the same faith he had with his father to his children.
In silence, you looked up for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. You checked the last room, which happened to be his dispatch; his personal space to show his achievements and his own story as Americaâs greatest hero. His back faced you, as he seemed to admire for the last time the suit hanging on the wall behind a glass thatâd keep it as a trophy for a long time. Leaning against the doorframe, you wondered what was going in his head now that the announcement was public.
âI know youâre there,â he said, looking at you from the corner of his eye. âI can hear your heartbeat.â
You approached him, clinging into his strong arm and watching his handsome, stern face. âIâm so proud of you,â you mumbled softly. Ben turned his eyes to look at you, his face softened as he heard your words. âThank you.â
His lips curved in a smile and he wrapped his arm on your waist, pulling you closer to his broad figure. âHowâs the baby doing?â
âConsidering Iâm around five months now, Iâd say heâs doing amazing,â your smile grew, feeling his warm hand on your baby bump.
âHe?â
You shrugged. âYou want a boy, right?â
âYeah, but we havenât checked that. We agreed to wait until birthâŠâ
There was a hint of hope and confusion in his words.
âI havenât done an ultrasound behind your back, if thatâs concerning you,â you reassured him too quickly, putting yourself in front of him so he could look at you. Your hand rested on his cheek in a delicate manner. âI just have a hunch.â
Ben nodded, leaning into your touch. There was something he wanted to say out loud, to let you know, but he never had the courage to say it. The intrusive thoughts and the traumatic past he was carrying on his back used to torment him enough already. And you knew he was hiding something since you told him you were pregnant. You could see it in his eyes.
âWhat is it, Ben?â
He sighed at your question. He couldnât lie to you, could he?
âIâm⊠scared,â he confessed. âI know I donât want to be like my father. I donât wanna disappoint our children.â
âYou wonât, I promise. Please donât torture yourself with things you are not, youâre not your father. And I know youâll be a great dad,â you pulled him for a soft kiss, to which he responded, his hand cupping your cheek and then wandering to the nape of your neck. âThey all will love you,â you whispered once the kiss was over.
Ben arched his brow in a playful manner. âThey?â
âIâll give you as many kids as I can, is that okay?â
He pulled you in for a hug, your head resting on his chest as he kissed your forehead lovingly. There was no other place he wanted to be but here, with you and the future baby growing up in your belly. Ben already pictured you together with a bunch of rugrats running all over the house, scolding them for being so reckless as they played silly games in a sunny afternoon by the pool. It was everything he yearned for. A normal life and becoming a loving father. His heart fluttered with joy, realizing this was the beginning of what he always really desired.
âIt's perfect.â

Bad Faith Part Two
Part One | Masterlist
Pairing: Harvey Specter x Reader
Rating: Explicit - 18+. Minors, kindly get off my lawn.
Notes: Not beta-read because when is it ever. Read this over six times but there are probably twenty typos that I'll spot the second I hit post, so. Anyway! Welcome to part two of two!! Thank you for reading đ
Length: 14.2k
Warnings: Angst; fluff! Huzzah!; Readerâs married surname is Hayward; reader is depressed for swaths of the chapter; unhealthy coping mechanisms; lovers to enemies to allies to lovers; explicit sexual content - vaginal sex, oral sex, hate sex, safe sex
Summary: Your life was four walls, a cruddy bed, rickety furniture. You spent too much time awake when you shouldâve been sleeping; too much time reminiscing when you should have been moving on; too much time dwelling on the time that you spent with men in your life that probably wouldnât spare you another thought.Â
âRoss. Mike Ross.âÂ
âCut the Bond schtick.âÂ
âIâm a contender.âÂ
âNot a chance. Besides, weâve been over this; youâre Q at best.âÂ
âCould do a lot worse than Desmond Llewelyn or Ben WhishawâHang on, you think youâre Bond?âÂ
Harvey stopped, gesturing over his body sweepingly before scoffing, âPlease.â
âPlease is right,â Mike muttered, tucking his hands into his pockets. âYou always go to this thing?âÂ
â...Iâve been once or twice.â In truth, Harvey hadnât been to the New York City Estate and Properties gala in years. He hadnât had occasion or reason; the last time he had, heâd made sure that she wouldnât be there before heâd agreed. Tonight his purpose was manifoldâdrink good champagne, eat good food, and warn Hayward off of pursuing his lawsuits against his clientâs property.Â
His client. It wasnât as simple as all that, but these days, heâd managed to separate her from the work. It was clinicalâand clinical was exactly what he needed.Â
âDid you see the menu for dinner? I didnât see a menu.âÂ
âGet your fill of canapes. Iâm talking to Hayward and then weâre going.âÂ
âWhat?â Mike pouted. âBut I thought we were staying for the ceremony.âÂ
âYou thought wrong. Keep your eyes peeled. Sooner we get this conversation over, the sooner we can get away from this den of cobras.âÂ
âNever have a mongoose when you need one.â Mike nodded over Harveyâs shoulder. âFound Mrs. Hayward.âÂ
âThought she didnât like you calling her that.âÂ
âShe doesnât, but around here, it might be better to use that rather than use her maiden name and have someone ask me who the hell Iâm talking aboutâŠYou gonna talk to her?âÂ
âWhat for?âÂ
âSo she at least knows what suit to look for when she wants to avoid you.âÂ
Harveyâs chastising glare was met with a wide, smug grin.Â
âCome on,â Mike groaned. âYou havenât spoken to her in weeks.âÂ
âAnd have you considered that that may be why things have been going so smoothly?âÂ
âFineâIâll give you another reason you should say hi to her.âÂ
âYou better make it a good one this time.âÂ
âJessica is catching on to the fact that you havenât touched this case with a ten foot pole.âÂ
Harvey winced slightly as he swallowed the last of his champagne.Â
âFine,â He grudgingly conceded, setting the empty champagne flute on a passing waiterâs tray. âPoint me.âÂ
âSheâs at your two oâclock.âÂ
Harvey turned accordingly, pushed out an annoyed sightâand then felt what breath he had left catch in his throat.Â
âStunningâ was the first word that came to mind, but in his heart, Harvey knew that it didnât do her justice. For his lingering, abiding annoyance with her, and with themâwith the whole goddamn situationâthere were moments when Harvey remembered why heâd fallen in love with her in the first place.Â
She didnât want to be there. Harvey didnât need to ask to know thatâit was common sense. But that didnât stop her from showing her face, from being impeccably dressed, and maintaining what had to be a meticulously constructed poker face.Â
â...You do know what staring isnât talking, right?âÂ
Mikeâs amusement cut into Harveyâs reverie, and he cleared his throat to refocus himself.Â
âKeep an eye out for Hayward,â Harvey ordered before he forced himself forward, slowly weaving through the crowd.Â
What the hell was he even going to say to her? Hi wasnât going to cut it; Come here often? Was almost as stupid. How about something about her dressâWhether or not it was new? That had to be safe, neutral groundâÂ
Harvey had been so focused on what he planned to say that he hadnât clocked her turning to face him. He chalked it up to panic radarâher hype-sesitivity given the current situation. He stared. She watched. And thenâ
âCome here often?âÂ
Damnit. Stupid, sure, but at least it wasnât hi.Â
--Â
â...Annually, at least.â
Was it your imagination, or was HarveyâŠNervous? At the very least, he seemed as confused as you were at the fact that he was talking to you.Â
âIâm a little surprised that you made a showing,â He admitted.Â
âI could say the same for you. Does Jessica have you prospecting clients to get back in the good graces of the real estate department at the firm?âÂ
Harveyâs eyes narrowed with playful intrigue, and for a moment, you saw a flash of the man that you used to knowâthe man who gave you that same look when you slipped your panties off and tucked them into his jacket pocket to find later.Â
âWhat did Mike tell you?âÂ
You shrugged nonchalantly, glancing around.Â
âNothing imporâ...Tant.â You trailed off, falling still and quiet as your eyes landed on Steven.Â
Well, he was hard to miss.Â
Standing at 6â3, with a manufactured tan, swimmerâs build, full head of gracefully graying hair, and veneers that made his smile look like a neatly arranged row of chiclets gum, Steven Hayward was the very picture of the kind of health that only wealth could buy. With the stress of the last few weeks, you knew that you werenât looking your absolute best. Youâd had so many sleepless nights; youâd swapped out your favorite catered meals in favor of cheaper alternatives, or dollar slices of pizza, or ramen from the bodega down the block from your apartment, pulled gently from beneath the cat that seemed to always be napping on the exact flavor that you wanted.Â
You were certain that Steven lost no sleep over the decision to divorce you, or to pull the rug out from beneath you. You expected him to be in tip-top shapeâbut you saw hints of his rage as he grew closer.Â
âOhâHell,â You mumbled, tipping your head toward Harvey. âYou might wanna clear out.âÂ
âYou kidding? Iâve got a front row seat to the prize fight of the century.âÂ
âTarget acquired.â
You frowned at the sound of Mikeâs voice, but you didnât turn to look at him as you muttered, âTarget?âÂ
âDarling.â The term of affection oozed past Stevenâs bleached-white teeth. He stopped just a couple of steps from youânot near enough to touch, but close enough to see the anger sparkling in his dishwater gray eyes. A pulse of vindication swept through your chest at the tense smile, and the tight pull of his jaw.Â
âSteven,â You greeted cordially.
âIâm surprised to see you this evening.âÂ
âIf I had a nickel.âÂ
âOh, but you do. Putting all of those properties up for sale, I expect you plan on having more than a few nickels.âÂ
âWhat can I say? A girlâs gotta get by.âÂ
âAnything I can do to help?âÂ
âHave you considered unfreezing our joint account?âÂ
He chuckled humorlessly. âAnything but that.âÂ
âThen wire me half.â
âYou haven't earned half.âÂ
It was meant to cut you down and lay you out, but you refused to bow to this man publicly when the other attendees must always hold you in such low regard as it was.Â
âI agree,â You offered, and before Steven could preen in his false superiority, you clarified: âI deserve more.âÂ
Steven bristled, shoulders bunching tight.Â
âPerhaps I should just take this eveningâs expenses out of that half.âÂ
You furrowed your brow pointedly, shaking your head.Â
âMmmâŠIâm not sure I understand what you mean.âÂ
âReally.âÂ
âMmâŠNâ...Noâ?âÂ
âPerhaps youâve been so busy hocking your clothes like a dog snuffling for scrapsââ Your face flared with embarrassment as Steven pressed on: âBut there was meant to be a reception at my penthouse this evening.âÂ
My penthouse. If it had only been the two of you in that room, you may have slapped him. How had he been able to detach, to force you from his mind and his heart so quickly? Had he ever loved you? Had any man?Â
The heat of Harveyâs body suddenly seemed to flare just behind you.Â
âAh!â You nodded sagely, âItâs all coming back to me.âÂ
âWhat could have happened there, I wonder?âÂ
âYou must not have taken care.âÂ
âOf what?âÂ
Of me. âOf anything.âÂ
Steven took you in for another long, cruel moment before he jutted his chin over your shoulder.Â
âFriends of yours?âÂ
Ah yes. Your personal legal peanut gallery. You glanced back to confirm their positioning before raising your hand to gesture:Â
âThis is Mike Ross.â The name seemed to knock something loose in Stevenâs mind as he shook Mikeâs hand.Â
âAh, Mr. Ross. I saw your name on some documentation this morning.âÂ
âYouâre about to see it a lot more, Mr. Hayward.âÂ
âAnd this is Harvey Specter.âÂ
Your stomach lurched as Steveâs eyes widened slightly, lips curling into a smile.Â
âThis is Harvey Specter?â He didnât bother to hide his amusement as he proffered his hand. âI didnât realize I sent you the worst possible port in this storm.âÂ
âYou didnât,â Harvey insisted, grasping Stevenâs hand firmly. âYou sent her to the best.âÂ
âTry not to drop her this time. My arms arenât open anymore.âÂ
Your hands tightened where they were clasped around one another. You forced yourself to keep your gaze set stalwartly on Steven, rather than watch the contentious (and no doubt, painful) handshake that the two of them were sharing.Â
âWell,â You chirped. âThis was a lovely little catch-up.âÂ
âYes,â Harvey chimed in, finally extricating his hand from Stevenâs and tucking it into his pocket. âWe must do it again sometime. Preferably at a deposition.âÂ
âMaybe in court,â Mike added. You had to fight down a smile at the sudden swell of support, and a wave of warmth that swept through you. Stevenâs eyes narrowed just a touch more before he nodded.Â
âI do hope youâll stay for my speech.âÂ
âWhoâd you have write it for you this time?â You asked.Â
âI took a crack at writing it myself.âÂ
If that was true, it was sure to be a mess and a half. You always had been the one to draft his speeches or remarksâor you paired down any drafts sent over by the agencyâs PR department.Â
âI look forward to it.âÂ
Steven gave you one last look before he turned away, slapping on his businessman smile as he went, and raising a hand to signal someone like a politician trying to garner votes.Â
â...Why didnât you mention the forgery charges?â Mike asked.Â
âItâs too soon to tip our hand...What table are you sitting at?â
âThirteen,â You sighed.Â
âLucky number,â Mike muttered.Â
âGo change our place cards,â Harvey ordered. âPut us on either side of her.âÂ
You whirled around to face him, stunned at the tight irritation pinching his features.Â
âSo we are staying for dinner?â Mike grinned. Harvey blinked flatly at him before reiterating: âGo.âÂ
You watched Mike duck through the crowd, heading for the dining room.
âWere you not going to stay for dinner?âÂ
âIâve gotta eat some time. Come on,â Harvey nudged your arm with his, âBuy me a drink.âÂ
âItâs an open bar.âÂ
âGood. Then it wonât break the bank.âÂ
The press of Harveyâs warm hand to your lower back was far more steadying than it should have been, and it managed to dampen the enraged fire in your belly.Â
âHowâs that good faith deposit doing, anyway?âÂ
âI threw 98% of it into an HYSA.âÂ
âSmart move.âÂ
âI shouldâve made moves like it sooner.âÂ
âBetter late than never.âÂ
âI guess.âÂ
â...You donât have to stay for dinner.âÂ
âWeâre going to.âÂ
âOn either side of me as well, Iâm flattered. I wasnât planning on having guard dogs this evening.âÂ
âAs long as you donât try to keep us on short leashes.âÂ
âDepends on whether you plan on doing more barking or biting this evening.âÂ
âIâve barked enough for now.âÂ
âBiting?âÂ
âIf you play your cards right, sure.âÂ
You didnât bother to hide your open shock at the blatant implication, but when you looked at Harvey, you found him giving you a surprisingly warm smile.Â
âLooks like speaking with Steven has put a little pep in your step, Mr. Specter.âÂ
âI wouldnât say that.âÂ
âWhat did?â
Harvey leaned heavily against the bar, focus set elsewhere as he tried to catch the bartenderâs eye.Â
âYou and I both know that this is going to be a long road. I like a good fight.âÂ
âYou donât say.âÂ
âItâs important to me that youâre ready for it, too.âÂ
You nodded a little. âIt may also be prudent for us to keep that fight directed at Steven, and not toward one another.âÂ
Harvey took the two proffered champagne flutes, passing you one and holding it up to cheers:Â
âIâll drink to that.âÂ
--Â
It wasnât perfect right away. You and Harvey still butt heads from time to time. On the purchases that the judges ruled that you were able to move forward with, you disagreed over termsâpurchase price, contingencies, negotiations. But the knots unpicked sooner and sooner, and you reached resolutions faster. Mike hardly had to intervene anymore. Harvey gave Jessica status updates openly, and you abidingly ignored the smug, self-satisfied smiles that she gave you as you left her office.Â
With the service and tenancy contracts, the two apartment building sales that arenât mired in paperwork still chugged along slowly. You knew that it was protocol, but it was excruciating. You felt ill every time you got an email from Mike or Harvey, expecting correspondence that spelled disaster. Every little bit of good news only brought marginal relief.Â
You spent most of your days in your apartment, packaging clothing or jewelry that youâd sold online. You got your packages sent off by five in the evening, and the rest of your night was your ownâthough it often ended similarly. Your logical mind often gave over to your emotions in the evening, and you allowed yourself to slip into quiet, depressed oblivion. The methods variedâslurping down two packets worth of dollar-pack ramen, and chasing that with a few bottles of beer as one of your favorite shows played in the background; curling up in your bed and staring at the ceiling at 8 PM, and laying wide awake with your mind racing until the sun came up; hunting through property listings online and plotting a comeback that felt like it would never come.
You never had visitors. Aaron was so entrenched at work that you only got the odd text from him. Your former friends seemed to have further aligned themselves with Steven after his triumphant speech at the galaâduring which he had gone out of his way to omit any mention of you from his historical record. You had avoided seeing much of Jessica outside of the office, certain that she would council you on a good divorce lawyer, or encourage you to begin dating, or level another lecture about the stupidity with which you had bungled your last marriage.
For as well as you knew she meant, you didnât have the time or patienceâand some little part of you, some stupid, naĂŻve part that knew well enough that the war was already lost, was convinced that Steven would change his mind.
It was unlikely, considering the magnitude of his cruelty over the last couple of months, and further exacerbated by your actions before the gala. Steven would not let you back into his arms, his home, or his heart. You didnât truly want to be let back into his arms, or his heart, but you missed his home. You had taken such care in the planning, the curation, the furnishing, the upkeep. You were proud of it. You had been happy, and comfortable, and so goddamn foolish.
Now you were tired, and lonely, and you spent so much of your day feeling stupid.Â
Sometimes, when the wind blew just a little too hard and rattled the flimsy windows, you let the sound of it cover your sobs against the paper-thin walls that connected you to your neighborâs apartment (youâd learned just how much sound bled through when you first became privy to your neighborâs light argument, which had then turned into a full-on shouting match. Theyâd sounded like they were in the same damn room with you, wall be damned).
It was one such sob session that you managed to hear someone knock on your door. You sniffled, shifting on your bed. You were certain that the sound was from next door, or that youâd misheard the rattle of the window. But when you heard the second, insistent round of knocks, the source couldnât be mistaken. You sniffled, setting your beer aside onto the bedside table crowded with empties and pushing yourself off of the bed. You swiped haphazardly at the tears on your face as you walked over to it, calling out, âAlright, for fuckssake!â When a third round of knocks rapped against the door.
You threw it open, finally, wincing at the invasive flash of the flickering fluorescent hall light. You werenât sure what was worse: the flickering, harsh strobe, or Harveyâs stunned confusion.
It may have been a tie.
ââŠWhat is it?â You mumbled.
âHave you been crying?â
âLittle bit.â
âAre you drunk?â
âGetting there.â
ââŠGet dressed.â
âWhat?â
âGet dressed,â Harvey insisted, nodding over your shoulder. âWeâre going out.â
âHarvey, Iâm really not in the mood,â You sniffled.
âWe wonât go far.â
âThen why are we going at all?â
Harvey opened his mouth to answer, but was cut off by a sudden crash! and the swell of yelling voices from next door. His eyes darted toward it before he nodded.
âIâm not listening to that all night.â
âWho the hell says youâre going to be here more than five minutes?â
Your heart stuttered as Harveyâs hands planted firmly on your hips, steering you back into your studio before he nudged the door shut with his foot.
âGet dressed. And hurry up.â
You werenât sure what it wasâhis touch, his firm insistence, or your own distaste for your screaming neighborsâbut you turned around and began dutifully rifling through one of your remaining trash bags of clothing.
âWhere are we going?â
âThereâs a diner around the corner.â
âA diner? How down heel of you, Mr. Specter.â
âI can appreciate the simple things.â
You snorted, straightening with a pair of jeans and a sweater. âSince when.â You glanced guardedly toward him before you nodded him toward the door. âTurn around.â
--Â Â
âYou can afford better than that place, you know.âÂ
You didnât answer him. Instead, you shoved a handful of cheese fries in your mouth and leaned back to chew with laborious slowness. You expected Harvey to fill the silence, but he didnât. He just watched, and waited, and stared at you until you swallowed. You nudged the plate toward him, offering: âWant one?âÂ
You avoided his openly chastising gaze, tired of the fact that it was the only look you get from most of the lawyers in your life these days.Â
âYou have that good faith deposit.âÂ
âI told you where it went.âÂ
âThe brownstone payment is on the edge of clearing escrow. Look for somewhere else to live.âÂ
âNot yet.âÂ
âWhy not?âÂ
âItâs not a good idea.âÂ
âSteven isnât going to weasel into every potential deal and hold it up.âÂ
âForgive me for my skepticism, but I donât exactly have many friends in this city anymore.âÂ
â...Are you planning on going somewhere else?âÂ
Youâd be lying if you said it hadnât crossed your mind. There were cities here you could rebuild your life and your practices, places where you were sure Steven wouldnât bother to try and strike down your attempts to rebuild your life.Â
âMaybe,â You admitted. âI liked Cambridge.âÂ
Harveyâs lips twitched with a gentle, regretful smile. It was his turn to reach out and swipe a few fries and chow down.Â
âRealty up there is pricey,â You added. âCould make a polite killing on student housing.âÂ
âHow does one make a polite killing?âÂ
âDecent rent and coin-operated laundry. Maybe some paid parking, a few overpriced but conveniently placed vending machines.âÂ
âRedbull?âÂ
âI was just thinking about snacks, but you know what, Redbull isnât a bad idea.â You reached out, picking up a fry and drawing it through the splodge of ketchup remaining at the edge of the plate. âWhy did you come over?âÂ
âI wanted to let you know that the inspections are finished.âÂ
âOn which?âÂ
âThe properties that you didnât know about.âÂ
âAnything stand out?âÂ
âA foundational issue on one of the apartment buildings, but it doesnât cost enough that it shouldâve stopped work.âÂ
âWhat about the others?âÂ
âNothing that popped as catastrophic.âÂ
âYou have the print-outs?âÂ
âIn my car.âÂ
âWhy are they in there?âÂ
âI was going to offer to take you for a drink, but you seemed to beat me to it.âÂ
You scoffed, shifting in your seat. âDonât get all high and mighty on me, Specter.âÂ
âYou do that often?âÂ
âWhat, drink?âÂ
âYes.âÂ
âAre you accusing me of having a problem?âÂ
âIâm asking if you do that often.âÂ
âOnce in a while.âÂ
âNew for you?âÂ
âRelatively.âÂ
Harvey eyed you critically for a few moments before he nodded. âCall me the next time you want to have a drink.âÂ
âSo you can talk me out of it?âÂ
âSo you at least donât do it alone.â
âIâm usually not in a talking mood when it happens.âÂ
âWe donât have to talk.âÂ
âOh, please. As if you donât love the sound of your own voice.âÂ
âCall me anyway.âÂ
You were quiet for a moment before you nodded. âYou know, the thought of you dropping by may just be an effective suppressant.âÂ
Harveyâs smile widened a little. âDo you want to put the other houses on the market?âÂ
âI want to walk through the apartment buildings myself before I go through them.âÂ
âWhat about the ones in the Hamptons and the Cape?âÂ
âIâll drive up.âÂ
âAnd Gstaad?âÂ
âA little trickier.âÂ
âCould bill it.âÂ
âI doubt it.âÂ
âYou could, under discovery.âÂ
âThis would not be covered under discovery.âÂ
âHow would you know that?âÂ
âIâm sorry, remind me who used to quiz you for the bar?âÂ
Harvey scoffed softly, averting his gaze to the diner counter. âWell, this may surprise you, but a few laws have changed since then.âÂ
âAnd this may surprise you, but not only am I aware of that, Iâve also been pretty deeply entwined with lawyers since then. So Iâm pretty comfortable making that assertion.âÂ
âAnd this? You think Iâm not billing for this?âÂ
âOh, I hope you are. I hope you bill for every second that it took you to walk up the steps to my apartment. I want Jessica to pay for my cheese fries. You know why?âÂ
âBecause it would kill her?â
âIt would drive her nuts.âÂ
âI canât wait to give her the itemized total.âÂ
âI await the enraged phone call.âÂ
--Â
âYou donât have to walk me back up, you know."
âSure I do. Gotta work off those fries. Besides, Iâm billing for this until I officially drop you off.âÂ
You rolled your eyes, nudging Harveyâs shoulder with yours. Your depressed, tear-ridden, sobbing buzz had worn off over the course of dinner, and you didnât think that the mood would creep back in once you were alone again.Â
âIâll walk through the apartment buildings tomorrow and see if I can get up to the Cape at some point in the next couple of weeks. The pictures and notes from the inspection look promising. If I dip into the good faith deposit, maybe I could get the Cape Cod house fixed up and sold before the summer.âÂ
âOr you could keep it as a rental property.âÂ
âMm.â âYou always liked the Cape in the winterâŠFor some reason.âÂ
âI kinda like when itâs all grey and gloomyâŠand quiet.âÂ
âBe a good base for your Cambridge operation.âÂ
âOh, please,â You chuckled. âItâs not even close. The red line doesnât exactly go all the way to Hyannis.âÂ
The two of you slowed as you neared your landing, listening closely.Â
â...Think the coast is clear?â Harvey murmured.Â
âFor now, at least.â You fished into your pocket for your keys. âThanks for dinner.âÂ
âSure. Remember what I said.âÂ
âI will.âÂ
âCall me if you need anything.âÂ
Anything. That was new. You nodded, gaze set on your keys as he turned to go back downstairs.Â
â...Harvey?âÂ
âYeah?â He stopped just a few steps away, and you had to scrounge up your courage to turn and look at him again.Â
âI donât, umâŠâ You swallowed thickly. âIâm gonna wanna talk about it.â You watched Harveyâs face shift with grim understanding.Â
âI donât want to litigate that.âÂ
âIsnât that your job?âÂ
âNot like this.âÂ
âNot tonight,â You reiterated, âButâŠSometime. Please.âÂ
Harveyâs jaw went tight, but he gave you a short, firm nod before he turned away. You watched him round the corner, and listened until his footsteps faded and the front door opened downstairs.Â
--Â Â
The apartment buildings werenât anything special. Stripped of most of their insulation, and with several of the windows already removed, the wind that pushed through them made the buildings sound like they were breathing. It was eerie, and chilly. You tightened your coat around yourself as you went from floor to floor, eyeing damaged pipes, areas where someone seems to have come in and rooted around for copper wiring, and the billowing plastic that marks off some doors that have been removed.Â
The paperwork on this building listed the purchase date as nearly a year ago.Â
A year ago, you and Steven had been discussing expanding your current operations. Maybe he hadnât gotten sick of you yet. Maybe heâd bought you the buildings as a present and stopped work when things turned sourâŠWhenever that had been.Â
There had been signs, sure, but Steven always had been temperamental.Â
You pushed the thought away as you drew in a deep breath, turning toward the stairs. It wouldnât do to overthink this just now. If needed, you could panic looking at the Hamptons, or Cape CodâŠOr Gstaad, if you ever found a way to get to Gstaad.Â
You reached into your pocket as your phone buzzed, drawing it out to find an incoming call. You groaned, stomping your foot petulantly before you raised it to your ear.Â
âJessica, Iâm a little busyââÂ
âI need you to come into the office.âÂ
Your fingers tightened around your phone as your palm began to sweat.Â
âWhat happened?âÂ
âIâd rather discuss this in person.â âJessica.âÂ
âCome to the office.âÂ
She hung up without another word. You swallowed thickly, lowering your phone and watching her call blink and then disappear. If she wasnât willing to discuss it over the phone, whatever it was had to be very, very bad.Â
--Â
âCheese fries?âÂ
âJessica,â You groaned, âCome on, there is no way that thatâs why you called me here.âÂ
âNo, it isnât. But Iâd like to remind you that you should remain fighting fit and cheese fries are not the way to do it.âÂ
âMy life has fallen apart and dipped into a moderately humiliating place. I think Iâm allowed to have a few cheese fries. Why did you tell me to come in.âÂ
âI have someone that I would like you to meet.âÂ
âIâm not going to start dating anyone now.âÂ
âWell, we can attack that another time. This is for your defense.âÂ
âHarveyâs on that.âÂ
âYour divorce.âÂ
âYou know that I canât afford a defense right now.âÂ
âI donât mind getting a start while you get the pieces in place.âÂ
The manâs voice caught you off-guard, and you turned to find a man leaning in the doorway. Your brow furrowed a touch as you took him inâthe long lean of his body, the neatly fitted charcoal suit and sky-blue tie, the curl of his dark hair, the twinkle of his warm chestnut eyes, and his small, intrigued smile.Â
âWell thatâs very kind of you, whoever the hell you are, but I donât exactly have anything on the board right now.âÂ
âThe fact that you even have a board is encouraging.âÂ
â...This metaphor is beginning to exhaust me.âÂ
âThis,â Jessica stepped past you to gesture the man deeper into the room, âIs David Alford.âÂ
âAlford?â You repeated. âLike the plea?âÂ
âNo relation. What would you know about an Alford plea?âÂ
âI know of it.âÂ
âHowâs that?âÂ
âWell, I used to date a lawyer.âÂ
âLucky guy.âÂ
âI donât think heâd agree with you, as evidenced by the fact that he is no longer my boyfriend.âÂ
âItâs nice to meet you.âÂ
You shook his hand lightly, still wary from the ambush.Â
âLook, Mr. AlfordââÂ
âDavid, please.âÂ
ââI donât know what Jessicaâs told you about my situationââÂ
âShe didnât have to tell me much. Forgive my bluntness, but your name has come up in our circles over the last couple of weeks.âÂ
âWell, forgive my bluntness, but itâs not my circle anymore.âÂ
âIt could be again.âÂ
âAre you going to get me a circle back in the divorce?âÂ
âIâm gonna get you whatever the hell you want in your divorce.âÂ
You let out a soft, disbelieving laugh, unable to help yourself.Â
âO-kay,â You lowered your hand.Â
âWhy donât I see what we can do about getting some coffee,â Jessica offered. âYou two talk.âÂ
Your brows furrowed as she waved the two of you more deeply inside. Jessica, at least pretending to get coffee? Damn, she really did want the two of you to talk. You gave David a polite smile as you lowered yourself to sit.
âIâm sorry she dragged you in here.âÂ
âWasnât much of a drag. My office is a block away.âÂ
âWell, then Iâm glad you havenât come far for nothing.âÂ
âNothing?â His brows jumped as he sat beside you. âI donât understand.âÂ
âIâm not currently looking for a divorce lawyer.âÂ
âYou need one.âÂ
âThat is beyond the point, MrââÂ
âDavid.âÂ
â...Mister David,â You bit out pointedly, and fought back a wave of annoyance at his amused smile. âIâm not sure how much Jessica has told you, but there are a lot of things up in the air right now. Iâve socked away some money for my defense, but not enough.âÂ
âHow would you know whatâs enough?âÂ
â...Letâs pretend that I donât know anything about the law, or the legal quagmire that Iâve gotten myself into. Letâs pretend that all I know about my soon to be ex-husbandâs business is that he has a lot more money than I do. The two of us went into our marriage with about 600 bucks and a dream held together with tape and spit. I have watched, and I have helped my husband build up his business for the last eleven years. I have signed contracts, I have signed purchase orders, I have signed mortgages, I have signed deeds. Even if I wasnât paying attention to what I was signing, I would know that Steven has amassed a lot of cash, a massive legal team, as well as a significant number of holdingsâin both our names. He has a lot of power in this equation, and I do not. Whatever comes down the pike, it is going to be a protracted legal battle. If I was optimistic, I would figure that this would take about a year, but Iâm not, and I know that it could take a few.â Â
Davidâs dark eyes darted fascinatedly across your face before he offered: âBut you do know a lot about Mr. Haywardâs business.âÂ
âYes, I do.âÂ
âBecause it was your business, too.âÂ
You averted your gaze from him as that washed over you. His acknowledgement made your heart knock hollowly against your ribs, and it took all of your strength not to slouch dejectedly in your chair.Â
â...Yes,â You agreed. âIt was.â âI understand that youâre discouraged. I would be, too, a lot of women are in your position.âÂ
âExactly what position is that, Mister David.âÂ
His smile flattened with nerves, and he let out a huffed, joyless laugh.Â
âI mean, having been servedââÂ
âA piping-hot plate of out on my ass?âÂ
âIf thatâs what youâd like to call itââ
âI call it that because thatâs what it is, not because I like it that way.â
âI understand. Look,â David shifted in his seat, twisting to face you a little more. âI think that regardless of when you get your pieces in place, you have a real case here. I think I can get you half.âÂ
If you had a touch less decorum, you would have jumped out of your seat and screamedâboth from the excitement, and the certainty that David Alford was out of his mind. Instead, you blinked twice, and once you managed to unstick your tongue from the roof of your mouth, asked:
âHalf?âÂ
âYes maâam.âÂ
âThere is no way.âÂ
âYouâd be surprised.âÂ
âI donât think I would, because Iâm almost certain thatâs impossible.âÂ
âWell, it certainly would be before.âÂ
âWhat exactly has changed?âÂ
âYou didnât know me. You do now.âÂ
You smiled in spite of yourself at the brash, almost fearless way that he said it. As skeptical as you were, you knew that this was exactly what you needed: someone as bold, confident, and fearless asâ
âWhat a cozy little conference this is.âÂ
You turned back at the sound of Harveyâs voice, smiling a little. âLooking to join the fun?âÂ
âIf I can hazard a guess at Jessicaâs matchmaking, Alford is the one joining the fun.âÂ
âSpecter,â David greeted, pushing himself out of his seat. âHavenât seen you at the squash courts recently.âÂ
âIâve been trolling the back nine,â Harvey offered, shaking Davidâs hand. âNice to see you, Pleas and thank you.âÂ
Your brow furrowed at the term. âWhat?âÂ
âItâs what some of the guys at the club call me. You know, my nameââÂ
âAlford pleas and thank you.â You scrubbed your hand across your brow. âGod, thatâs dumb.âÂ
âWe canât all be queens of quip.âÂ
âYou poor things,â You shot back scathingly. Harvey shot you a wink before turning back to David.Â
âSo, David, whaddaya say?â Harvey plied. âYou filling the gap?âÂ
âYeah, Iâd love to fill âer in.âÂ
You didnât miss his innuendo, nor the speculative, open, sweeping gaze that David leveled at you. Your brows inched toward your hairline, stunned at his brazenness. Surely you hadnât seen it rightâ
âCoffee?âÂ
Your focus was broken at the sound of Jessicaâs voice, and the sight of a coffee tray being wheeled in behind her. You let yourself be busied by it. You focused on your coffee, made it the way you liked, and let Jessica and David and Harvey talk about what you could reasonably expect out of the divorce battle.Â
Reasonably, as if this entire situation hadnât been insanely unreasonable.Â
But you let yourself sit, and listen, and save your speculation for the train ride home.Â
You mustâve read his look wrong, or misunderstood. He didnât mean it like that.Â
And even if he did, finding that look intriguing was incredibly appropriate. But it didnât matter! Because he didnât mean it like that.Â
âŠAnd even if he did, it was probably just something that he tried to bring you on board. But it didnât matter, because he did not mean it like that.Â
âŠ
Though if he did, it really wouldnât matter, because it would be grounds for him to be disbarred. Nothing was going to happenâŠEven if you did find him attractive, and found his blunt approach and self-assured nature very, very hot.Â
But you were not going to fuck him.
--Â Â
âDonât fuck him.âÂ
You had expected the warning to come from Jessica, but to hear it from Harvey of all goddamn people made you gape at him in shock. He just gave you a knowing look before he turned back toward the beer that he was opening.Â
Your urge to have a drink that evening hadnât been strong, but it had been there, and it had made you think of Harveyâs offer from the day before. You hadnât expected such a quick response to your simple text of âBeer?â, but he had turned up a mere half hour later, a fresh six pack in hand. He had shrugged off his jacket, tossed it on to your bed, and walked over to your kitchenetteâwhere he proceeded to say the most heinous thing.
âExcuse me?â You finally managed.Â
âYou heard me.âÂ
âI donât think I did, actually, not properly, because it sounded like you just gave me an order that you had no business giving.âÂ
âI have plenty of business.âÂ
âNoââÂ
âDonâtââÂ
âNo no no, you do not, not here, and not like that.âÂ
âIâm just saying,â Harvey turned from the counter, planting his hand on the cruddy formica, âThat I knowââÂ
âDo not say that you know me.âÂ
His expression darkened, and you watched as he drew in a deep breath. âI know him.âÂ
â...He has to be good, or Jessica wouldnât have pulled him on to my case.âÂ
âHeâs a good lawyer, but heâs a scuzzy asshole.âÂ
âI know the type.âÂ
âYou think Iâm a scuzzy asshole?âÂ
Your gut dropped at the hint of anger seeping into his tone.Â
âI meant Steven.âÂ
Harvey turned away, hand curling into a fist and knocking lightly on the counter.Â
âJustâŠBe careful with him.âÂ
âYou are the last person that has any right to lecture me on the care that I ought to take with the men in my life.â
âIâm not lecturing youââÂ
âNo, youâre warning me off, like a little kid thatâs playing too close to an electric fence.âÂ
âIt wouldnât be the first time.âÂ
âFuck you.âÂ
âFine by me, as long as you donât fuck David.â âAlright, you know what,â You pushed off of your bed, striding over to your door. âGet out.âÂ
âWeâre not done talking about this.âÂ
âYes, we are. Get out.âÂ
âWeâre not done untilââÂ
âWeâre done when I say weâre done!â You began to yank your door open. Harvey was across your small space in a moment, palm flat against the door as he shoved it shut behind you.Â
âAnd what the hell gives you the right to decide that?âÂ
âBecause itâs my turn!â You barked. âI get to decide when weâre done now.âÂ
âIt stopped being your turn when you stormed out of my office.âÂ
âThen make the damn decision yourself and get the fuck out of my apartment!âÂ
âIf you want to ruin that manâs career and your chances of getting anything that you want out of your divorce, you go right ahead.âÂ
âI am not going to fuck him, and Iâm not going to get him disbarred, you ass.âÂ
âGood.âÂ
âAnd I deeply resent the implication that Iâm so sex-starved and desperate that Iâm willing to fuck anyone who gives me any goddamn attention.âÂ
âI did notââÂ
âYes, you did, you did the second you opened your mouth. By rights, if thatâs your view of me, I shouldâve tried to not only fuck Mike, but you, of all people.âÂ
âI never implied that you were sex starved, but if you were, you could do a lot worse than MikeââÂ
âOh, reallyââÂ
âAnd a helluva lot worse than me.âÂ
âOh, please! There is no way that I could do worse than you. There are dictators that Iâd sooner fall into bed with.âÂ
âIf all youâre cutting out is the bed, I can work with the rest.âÂ
You couldâve slapped him. He was close enough, and you could just imagine itâthe way the flush of red would look spreading across his cheek.Â
âWhat makes you think Iâd ever allow you anywhere near me again, Specter?âÂ
âIâm pretty damn close now.â He shifted closer, stopping as the tips of his shoes brushed your socked feet.
âAgainst your better judgment.âÂ
âYou want to put me in my place, sweetheart, you go right ahead.âÂ
âDon't call me that.âÂ
âWhy not.âÂ
âDonât you dare call me that.âÂ
âGive me a good reason not to.âÂ
âYou havenât earned it back.âÂ
âAny idea of how I might do that?âÂ
You bit him. You grasped his tie, tugged him in, and sank your teeth into his lower lip. You expected an argument, but Harvey just groaned, grasping you by the hips and shoving you back against the door. You released his lip, groaning as he swept his tongue into your mouth. Your hand unwound from his tie, breath leaving you in harsh puffs as Harveyâs smearing kisses trailed down your jaw to your neck. You arched up into his touch as his hands slipped under your t-shirt, palming and squeezing whatever skin he could reach. You reached down, hands fumbling with nerves and heat as you worked off his belt.Â
Every time your mind began to race, Harvey managed to quiet it, with his teasing tongue, and nipping teeth, and grasping fingers. For all of his big talk about getting David disbarred, Harvey suddenly seemed to not give a damn about his own careerâ
You whined as Harvey yanked down the cup of your bra, knuckles toying with your pebbling nipple. You palmed his hardening cock through the soft fabric of his trousers, thrilling in his moan, and the press of his hips up against your touch. His fingers snaked beneath the band of your sweatpants, sweeping against your clit before swiping slower.Â
âYouâre already so goddamn wet,â He growled, easing a finger into you. You pressed into his touch, gritting your teeth as he goaded: âYou like pissing me off this much?âÂ
âCondom?â
âLeft pocket.âÂ
You reached into his pocket, brushing against his cock as you drew out the foil packet. Why wasnât it tucked somewhere discreet, like his wallet? You pushed the thought away as you ripped the foil packet open with your teeth. Harvey let go of you just long enough to shove his pants down around his thighs, then push your sweatpants.Â
âTurn around.âÂ
You passed him the condom before doing as you were told, leaning heavily against the door. You expected a stretch, but slick heat pressed between your spread thighs. Your mouth dropped open in a moan, eyes squeezing shut as Harvey lapped and laved your slick, heated skin. You reached back, fingers scrabbling to grasp the neat coif of his hair.Â
âHarvey, damnit,â You gasped. âJust fuck me already.âÂ
He groaned in dissent, giving your lips one more sucking kiss before straightening fully. You felt one palm smooth over to your thigh, and saw the other rest against the door as he eased into you. Your lips parted with a gentle whine at the pleasurable throb of his cock stretching you. You planted your hand on the door beside his, steadying yourself as you adjusted.
He didnât give you long. Harvey drew back before his hips snapped sharply. You pressed your cheek to the door, skin growing clammy between the flimsy particleboard and the hot panting of your breath. The harsh slam of his hips forced your body uncomfortably against the door. You let your eyes slide closed as Harveyâs hands covered yours, drawing them just above your head as he intertwined your fingers. The door rattled in the frame with each thrust. You whimpered as Harvey pressed his face into your neck, felt his hot breath and the rumble of his groans against your skin.Â
Your thighs ached, and your heart pounded, and your cunt throbbed, and goddamn it felt so fucking good.Â
The swell of your orgasm rose and crested sharply, and you didnât bother to hide the shuddering of your moan, your grip tightening on Harvey's hands. He followed close behind, hips pounding and juddering before he slowed. The two of you stood still for a few long moments, listening to one anotherâs panting and coming down. Harvey carefully extricated your hands from yours, drawing away and leaving you half-bare and chilly against the door.
â...I need a beer,â Harvey muttered, voice hoarse.
âYou left one on the counter.âÂ
âYou want one?âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
You reach down, tugging up your sweatpants as you gently peel yourself back from the door.Â
âItâs probably going to be lukewarm,â Harvey warned.
âI donât care.â You drew in a shaky breath as you walked back toward your bed. Youâd already sworn that you wouldnât let him into it. You lowered yourself to sit beside it, looking at the door as the swirl of confused thoughts shifted back to the fore. You watched Harvey tie off the condom and drop it into your trash bin. You tracked his movementâfrom cleaning up, to doing up his pants, to washing his hands. You didnât bother to hide your open speculation as he opened another beer, then took the two up. You drew your legs together, biting your lip as your slick cunt pulsed.
Harvey lowered himself to sit beside you, holding a beer out and lightly knocking his against yours before you each took a drink. You winced a little at the taste. You shouldâve listened to himâthe taste of lukewarm beer was not appetizing. You saw Harvey reach up out of the corner of your eye as he loosened his tie.Â
â...What was that about getting someone disbarred?âÂ
âShuddup.â There was no heat to how he said it, and that was probably why it made you snort a laugh.Â
âHarvey?âÂ
âWhat.âÂ
âDid you come over planning to fuck me?âÂ
âWhat?âÂ
âWhy was there a condom in your pocket?âÂ
âI had a date.âÂ
Your brow furrowed as you took that in.Â
â...When?â
âTonight.âÂ
âWhy arenât you there?âÂ
âBecause Iâm here.âÂ
Harvey Specter broke a date. Harvey Specter broke a date for you. You leaned back against the bed again, biting the inside of your cheek to quell a wide grin.Â
âDonât read into it,â He added.Â
âIâm not reading into anythingâŠApart from the fact that you seemed pretty sure you were going to get laid.âÂ
âI was.âÂ
âArrange for that, did you?âÂ
âNo need to arrange anything. Iâm just good like that.âÂ
âWell. Canât argue with that. For the recordââÂ
âWhat.âÂ
âYou really have no say over who I do and donât fuck.âÂ
âI know.âÂ
âGood.âÂ
â...You going to the Hamptons next weekend?âÂ
âYeah.â âHow are you getting up there?âÂ
âI was going to take the train.â
âI could give you a ride.âÂ
âYou already have.â You cast Harvey a knowing smile, grin widening as he shot you a sidelong, unimpressed glance. Your smile turned to giggles as Harvey seemed to smile in spite of himself.Â
âYou really think we could stand to be in the car with one another for more than twenty minutes?â You prodded.Â
âIf not, we could always pull over and work out our differences.âÂ
âPfft. No other weekend plans?âÂ
âNope.âÂ
âDidnât promise a rain check?âÂ
âDidnât specify when it might happen.âÂ
âMm. And why would you want to come with me?âÂ
âSteven could be watching those properties, waiting for you to turn up. You could benefit from having back up.âÂ
âYou make it sound terribly sinister. Have you figured out how to bill Gstaad yet?âÂ
âIâm working on it.â
âKeep me updated.âÂ
âSure.âÂ
âI donât mean for, you knowâI donât want a vacation.â
âYouâve earned one.âÂ
âWhatever, I just donât like to put something on the market without doing a walk-through myself.âÂ
âI understand.âÂ
You leaned back against the bed a little more heavily, gaze wandering toward the door, where a little bit of your makeup was smeared from the press of your cheek.Â
â...Harvey?â
âMm?âÂ
âCan we talk about it?âÂ
âThe sex or the other thing?âÂ
âThe other thing.âÂ
âIâve already had one fight with you today. I donât think I have the capacity for two...Do you?â
You shook your head.Â
âSome other time,â He promised.Â
âSure.âÂ
--Â
You had seen the paperwork and the inspectorâs notes, but to see the house in the Hamptons was a whole other story. The long gravel driveway was lined with a horse fence on the left, and a plain wood fence on the right. You didnât bother to hide your open, stunned stares as you passed the stables. It was hardly the first time youâd seen a home like it, but it was unfathomable that Steven seemed to have not only put the house in your name, but completely forgotten about it.Â
Harvey pulled the car into the neatly manicured lot.Â
âDo you want to start in the stables, the house, the pool, the tennis courtâŠ?â He shut the car off, waiting for your reply. You shook your head.Â
âI only care about the house,â You admitted.Â
âSo we wonât be walking the expansive lawns? I brought my sneakers.âÂ
âDo I even want to know how expensive those sneakers are?âÂ
âTheyâre worth more than your apartment.âÂ
âIâm willing to believe that.â You climbed out of the car, eyeing the inspectorâs report as you rounded toward the front steps. You turned from the paperwork to take in the houseâs appearance more clearly. It wasâŠUgly. The large, L-shaped, gray-brick building had the modernistic development of the fast-casual apartment buildings in the city, with some of the gauche touches of your penthouse, like the expansive floor-to-ceiling covering nearly the entirety of the bottom of the floor. You could see a balcony on the left side of the house, and another around the other end of the L.Â
â...This is different.âÂ
âItâs criminal,â You muttered.Â
âAre you saying that because he forged your signature, or because itâs ugly as sin?âÂ
âBoth. Come on.âÂ
You walked up to the front door, punching in the code that the realtor had given you to get the door open.Â
The foyer was as flat and uninspired as the outside of the houseâwhite marble floors, grey walls, and sterling silver furnishings. You grimaced as you looked around.Â
âAre we doing a complete walk through of this millennial grey gulag?â
âIf youâre going to hate it, you can wait in the car,â You offered, glancing toward Harvey. âApparently there are fifteen bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and I donât know how much of your cute commentary I can deal with today.âÂ
âSeemed to handle it fine in the car.â Harvey turned left before you could say or do anything else, and you followed him, looking down at the propertyâs map.Â
âThis place oughta have one of those fricking mall maps with a star labeled âYou Are Hereâ,â You grumbled.Â
âNow whoâs making cute comments.âÂ
âÂ
âMy feet hurt,â You groaned, plopping onto a boxy, stiff-cushioned couch.Â
âYouâd think after the last couple of months of living in that walk-up, youâd be in better shape.â
âYouâd think.â
âItâs all those cheese fries.â
âOhâshut up.âÂ
âSo, what do you think?â
âI think we throw it on the market for 18 million and I forget that it ever existed.â
âWhy list it in your name, though?â
You shrugged, looking around. âMaybe it was in both our names when he bought it and the outcome was such a disaster he decided to leave my name on it. I think he designed it.â
âReally?â Harveyâs brows rose as he looked around.Â
âOh, god yeah. Steven can be smart, but heâs never really had any design sense. I wound up taking charge on some of our early flip projects because he just didnât have the eye for it. He always tried, but I kinda wound up following behind and fixing his messes. If I had to guess, he bought this place to show me that he really could do it, and he justâŠCanât.â
âDo you think Cape Cod and Gstaad will be the same?âÂ
âDoubtful. The report for Cape Cod said that the house was originally built in 1950âŠwhat. Four?â
âSomething like that.âÂ
âIt looks like he gutted it like he did the apartment buildings and realized how much of a project it would be. Gave up on it.âÂ
âAnd Gstaad?âÂ
âWork out how to expense the trip and we can talk.â
Harvey chuckled, wandering closer. âShould we christen it?â
âChristen what?â
âThis house.â
âHow?â
Harveyâs brows waggled salaciously, and you laughed, pushing yourself off of the couch. âOh no, Specter. No wayââ
âWhy not?â
âYou wanna christen every room? You donât have the stamina for thatâAnd I donât have the patience.âÂ
âWhat about just in here?â He curled his arm around your waist, drawing you closer. âOn that stupid couch, over the pianoâŠHow about up against the windows?â His voice dropped to a murmur. âThereâs no one around for miles.âÂ
You rolled your eyes despite your amusement.Â
âIf you said that with the Kubrick stare, Iâd think you were going all Jack Torrence on me.â
âHeeeeeeeereâs Harvey.â
âUgh! God, letâs just go,â You pushed out of Harveyâs arms, heading for the door. âItâs kinda creepy being here, you know. Like Stevenâs watching.âÂ
âThe house canât be haunted, heâs not dead.âÂ
âHe is to me.â
â
âWhen are you planning on going to Cape Cod?âÂ
âMmâŠProbably next week.â
âDriving up?â
âTaking the train.â
âAgain with the train.âÂ
âI donât have a car and Iâm not going to rent one.â
âAre you staying overnight?â
âNo.â
âYouâre going to go up and back on the train in one day? That is a long day.â
âI can handle it.âÂ
âYouâd be more comfortable in a car.âÂ
âYeah, obviouslyâEyes on the road, Specter.â You reached out, poking his cheek as he glanced over at you. He batted your hand away lazily before turning back to the road.Â
âWhy do you always insist on doing things in the most difficult way possible?â
âBecause in most cases, the most difficult choice is also the most cost-effective. Efficiencies can be cruel, Harvey.â
âCruel is an understatement.âÂ
âI can handle a day on the train.â
âIf you say so.âÂ
âI do say so, thank you.âÂ
âStubborn.âÂ
â...Do you wanna come up when we get back to my place?â
âWhat for?âÂ
You tipped your head to the side, waiting for Harvey to glance over before you teasingly waggled your brows.
âOh, so now you want to?âÂ
âI wanted to then! But I couldnât do it if I felt Steven looming over me. Câmon, Specter,â You reached out, gently teasing your nails along the back of his neck, and grinning as he shifted slightly in his seat. âSee if you can get me any more out of breath than walking up six flights of stairs.âÂ
--Â Â
âHey, there you are! Jessica needs toâWhatâs that face for?â Mikeâs concern fell away at the sight of Harveyâs self-satisfied smile as he stepped off of the elevator. Harvey gave a dismissive shrug. What the hell was he going to tell Mike? That heâd spent the weekend somewhere other than his place? That he had fallen asleep with her, and remembered how serene it used to be to wake up with her? That theyâd hardly left her cruddy apartmentâhell, theyâd hardly left her bed?Â
âNothing. What were you saying?âÂ
âJessica needs to see you.âÂ
âRight now?âÂ
No sooner had the words left his mouth did Jessica step out from around the corner, drawing him up short.Â
âYes,â She insisted firmly. âRight now.âÂ
Harvey had the strange sense of a child being marched to the principal as she led her way to her office. She shut the door behind the two of them, striding past him to her desk.Â
âCan this wait?â Harvey hedged. âIâve got coffee going cold on my desk.âÂ
âWell then, Iâll make this quick. Did you have a nice time this weekend?"
That should've been his warning. It was a solid leading question, and one that, on any other Monday, he would not have hesitated to answer. His eyes narrowed slightly, before he decidedâYes, she must have known that he drove to the Hamptons. Someone would have told Jessica: Mike was still in the habit of offering updates when he thought they would be helpful.
"Yes," He finally answered.
"Was it a productive trip?"
A second warning. Jessica was a strategist, and Harvey knew that any lawyer worth a damn didn't ask a question that they didn't already know the answer to. Still, he chose a carefully middle-of-the-road answer:
"She was happy to go through the home herself, set a listing price. Hopefully we can get it on the market and on its way as soon as possible.â
Jessica took that in thoughtfully, lips set in a placid smile.
"Were there any outstanding features?"
A third and final warning, but Harvey couldn't help but lean into it:
"Are we talking about the tennis court, the pool, the stables, or the thousand lawns?"
Jessica let out a tepid, flatly amused, "Hm," Before beckoning him closer. "Well if those all caught your eye, it would explain why you missed the cameras."
Harvey froze in his step, blood running cold. There was no wayâCameras? His gaze dropped to the laptop that she turned to face him. The black and white footage was grainy, but clear enough. Harvey watched as he wrapped his arm around her, drawing her into his chest. He could still feel the heat of her body, and the plush slide of her sweater beneath his fingers. He could see the gentle, adoring way that she gazed up at him before she nudged him away, leading the charge out of the house.Â
âItâs kinda creepy being here, you know. Like Stevenâs watching.â He didnât know how, but she had felt it.Â
"Where did that come from."
"I'll give you three guesses."
"Let me explainâ"
"Explain what!" Jessica slammed the laptop closed, rounding the desk with self-righteous strides. "Explain what idiotic idea led to you putting on a show?"
"We didn't know that there were cameras."
"How long has this been going on?"
"We only went to see that one house."
Jessica's expression darkened as she shook her head.
"Don't play dumb with me, Harvey," She warned lowly. "How long have you been sleeping with her."
It hit him low in the gut. For a moment, he was too stunned to speak.
"She told you?"
"No, she didn't tell me. She didn't have to. It'll be plain as day to anyone who sees that footage."
"Thatâs not true, we were justâ"
"Just what?"
"I was teasing her! It didn't mean anything."
"If I call and ask her, she'll say the same thing?"
He was certain of it. "Yes."
"Would she swear to it under oath? At a deposition? In court?"
His surety faltered, and his mouth worked wordlessly before he pursed his lips tightly. Jessica shook her head again.
"I am not the only one with access to this. Luckily for youâfor both of youâshe still has a friend or two on the inside. Aaron Delaney sent this to me before he deleted the original. He works closely with Steven, and has access to a few property accounts. He got an alert on his phone that someone had used the keypad to open the door."
"Has Steven seen it?"
"He isn't sure, but I'm not willing to take that chance. Louis will be taking over the Hayward case, and Mike will be assisting him."
"No, Jessica, that's not happening."
"It is, because I'm telling you that it is. You should be relieved. You never wanted it in the first place."
"Things are different now."
"You're damn right they are! What the hell were you thinking? Both of you?"
"Let me see this case through."
"If you see this through and Hayward does have access to this footage, you could be disbarred. You're going to hand the files over to Louis by the end of the day. He is expecting them. Mike will bring him up to speed and assist him until this mess is cleared up."
Harvey lowered his gaze to the floor as Jessica stepped around him, opening the door and waiting beside it. He curled his hands into fists in his pockets as he strode resignedly from the office.
"And so help you," Jessica warned as he passed, "If I hear that you are holding Louis up in any way."
Harvey only made it a few feet from the office before he pulled his phone out of his pocket, hurriedly dialing her number. It rang once...Twice...Three times...And went to voicemail.
"Damnit," He hissed, lowering the phone to redial. "C'mon, c'mon..." It rang once, "Pick up." Twice...
"Hey you."
"Where are you?"
"What do you mean?" She laughed, "I'm on my way to see Jessica for our check-in."
Fuck.
"How close are you?"
"I just got off of the elevator. Why?"
Harvey whirled around, eyes desperately searching for her through the gaggle of associates, paralegals, and lawyers going about their business.
"She knows."
"What?"
He could hear her frown. Harvey took three steps toward the elevator bay before he saw her come into viewâand lock eyes with Jessica. He saw her body go tense, before her shoulders sagged with dejection.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Hell," She sighed before hanging up.
--
"I'm not going to even begin to approach what you may have been thinkingâ"
"Jessicaâ"
"âPutting not only your future, Harveyâs future, and the future of this firm in jeopardy."
"I wasn't thinking."
"Clearly."
"We didn't even do anything at the house!"
"That doesn't make the slightest bit of difference."
You slid down in your seat as Jessica paced in front of you, her pace and turn reminiscent of a caged tiger.
"I did you a favor and this is how you repay me?" She finally stilled, nailing you with a cold gaze. You folded further under the crush of her look, so similar to the disbelief that she had leveled you with at her apartment not too long ago.
"I'm sorry."
"You should be." Jessica strode around her desk. "Your case has been reassigned to Louis Litt. Mike will stay on, provided you haven't fucked him, too."
Christ. "I made a mistake, alright? I told you I was sorry, and I meant it," You insisted. "Don't bring Mike into this when he hasn't done anything wrong."
Jessica bristled as she lowered herself into her seat.
"I don't want you associating with Harvey until this is over."
"OhâCome on."
"If this footage were to come out, Harvey's conduct and ethics will be called into question. He'll be dragged into your divorce proceedings. Is that what you want?"
Your stomach churned uneasily as you considered it. You knew she was right. You shook your head a little, trying desperately to swallow past the lump that was forming in your dry throat.
"Louis and Mike will be in touch."
"Okay." You turned, heading for her office door, and stopping just before you opened it.
"...Is now a bad time to remind you that bringing Harvey onto my case was your idea?"
The chilling glare that she leveled with answered for her: Yes. It was a very bad time to remind her.
--
âYou slept withââÂ
âShut the door and keep your voice down,â Harvey warned stonily. Before either of them could move toward his office door, Donna hurried into view, reaching for the handle.Â
âYou donât wanna hear this?â Mikeâs brows rose. âYou of all people?âÂ
Donna waved him away, offering, âIntercom,â Before she shut the door. Harvey sighed heavily, lowering himself into his chair.Â
âWhat happened?â Mike stepped closer to the desk. âIâm justâYou two hate each other.âÂ
âThank you for the reminder. I forgot about that.âÂ
âHarvey, câmon,â Mike shook his head as he tried (and failed) to keep from smiling. âWhat happened?âÂ
âI went over to hang out.âÂ
âAt her apartment?âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
âOkay, and? Instead of hanging out youâŠLet it all hang out?âÂ
âGet out of my office.â
âIf that was at her apartment, what happened in the Hamptons?âÂ
âNothing happened in the Hamptons. The footage justâŠWe got close, thatâs all.âÂ
âThatâs not enough to disbar you.âÂ
âBecause youâre the expert on being disbarred? Itâs enough to call my ethics into questionâŠAnd Jessicaâs right, no one needs that headache right now.â Â
âSo Iâm stuck with Louis because you got close? Whereâs the Specter spirit? No way are you going to watch this one from the sidelines.âÂ
On any other case, no, he wouldnât. Harvey would insist on backseat driving. But on this oneâŠHe grimaced, dropping his gaze to his desk.Â
âI want regular updates,â He insisted. âThatâs all.âÂ
Mike nodded slowly, conceding: âOkay. But Iâll be ready when you change your mind.âÂ
--Â
"I'll come over."
He sounded so positive about itâlike nothing had happened, or changed. You eyed the remaining trash bags, trying to scrounge up the conviction of an excuse.Â
"I don't think that's a good idea right now."
"Why not?"
You know why. You shifted your phone from one hand to the other, tucking it between your shoulder and your ear as you reached out, gripping a bag to make it crinkle loudly.
"I've still got some sorting to do."
"I'll help you."
"Not tonight, Harvey."
"...She's not in charge of us, you know."
You tipped your head back against your wall, closing your eyes. "She's actually very much in charge of you."
"At work."
"I know, but I just..." You winced. "I think she's right. We should lay low for a while. If Steven did see that video before Aaron sent it to Jessica, we're both going to have a whole new mess that we're stepping into."
"I'm ready for it."
"...I don't know if I am."
His silence on the other end made you want to crawl out of your skin. "I can only fight one battle at a time, HarveyâAnd right now, I'm barely managing the big ones."
"Fine."
You knew that fine coming from him. It wasn't fine. It was I'm shutting down. It was I'm finished with this conversation. It was I'm finished with you.
"Harveyâ"
You lowered the phone from your ear as the line cut off, watching the inevitable flashing and darkening of his contact. You bit the inside of your cheek, fighting back a fresh wave of tears. How, after all this time, was Harvey Specter still able to make you cry?
--Â
You became solitary again. Life narrowed. You saw Aaron a time or two, but he was so busy either working or gathering intel that you were hardly able to keep up with him. For as much of a lifeline as she had been, Jessica was still pissed, and you hardly spoke more than you needed to. Mike was a dear, checking in to see how you were doing, but most correspondence led inevitably to discussing closings, proceedings, contracts (and you couldnât blame him for it; he was only doing his job).Â
Louis wasâŠA lot. He was very eager, that was clear, and had been working hard to push the sales of the apartment buildings and the home in the Hamptons through. David and his firm were digging into discovery, and were making headway.Â
But you had so little life outside of your divorce. Most of your pieces were sold off, so you hardly had any day-to-day tasks to keep you busyâand everything in New York was so goddamn expensive. It felt like you spent $50 just stepping out your front door. There were days when you simply didnât. It was cheaper to stay in, and quieter (so long as your neighbors didnât have a screaming match that day).
Your life was four walls, a cruddy bed, rickety furniture. You spent too much time awake when you shouldâve been sleeping; too much time reminiscing when you should have been moving on; too much time dwelling on the time that you spent with men in your life that probably wouldnât spare you another thought.Â
--Â Â
Walking back into the firm was uncomfortable. Youâd avoided it for as long as you could, but Mike insisted that there were a few documents that absolutely had to be seen and signed in the office. Youâd made it an entire three weeks without so much as getting anywhere near the building. You found yourself avoiding even glancing in the direction of Jessicaâs office. It was alright, thoughâDonna was a smiling, comforting presence the second you stepped off of the elevator.Â
âFind the place alright?â She teased.Â
âI did, thank you. Iâve only been here a dozen times in the last couple of months.âÂ
âItâs been a few weeks. We thought youâd forgotten where we were.âÂ
You smiled tightly. You were certain that she knew everything that had gone onâshe was the eyes and ears of the place.Â
âYou know, itâs the funniest thing,â You drawled sarcastically, âI kept coming to the right building and getting off on the wrong floor.âÂ
âHappens to the best of us. Câmon.âÂ
You frowned as she led you away from the usual conference rooms, and even further away from Louisâ office. You couldnât imagine where the heck she was taking youâand your confusion deepened as she opened the door to a room lined with files. She nodded you inside, a knowing smile on her lips as she warned:Â
âTwo minutes.âÂ
Two minutes? Until what?
âThanks, Donna.â Harveyâs voice made you freeze, and you could do nothing but watch Donna close the door behind herself. You looked down at the floor, your hands wringing as you heard Harvey come closer. You felt him stop close behind you, close enough to feel the heat of him.
â...Are you going to look at me?â He hedged softly.Â
âNo need. I know what you look like.âÂ
He sighed softly, stepping around to stand in front of you. You watched as his shoes and pant legs came into view.Â
â...And youâre just going to look at my shoes now?âÂ
âTheyâre nice shoes. Look expensive.âÂ
âThey are.âÂ
âFigures.âÂ
âIâm sorry.âÂ
You looked at him fully, finally, stunned. You were surprised at how drawn he looked. Sure, his suit was impeccable, and his hair was frustratingly perfect, but you could see tiredness around his eyes.Â
âYouâre going through hell right now,â Harvey went on, âYou donât need me to pile on to that. I shouldnât have snapped at you.âÂ
You nodded slowly as you took it all in. âWell. We should never have, umâŠâ You cleared your throat, averting your gaze again. âIt was stupid.âÂ
âYou regret it?âÂ
âItâs not worth risking your career over.âÂ
âThatâs not what I asked.â Harvey closed the space between the two of you, and you had to force yourself not to lean into him the way you wantedâthe way youâd missed for weeks.Â
âHarvey,â You warned softly. âI canât keep playing tug of war with you like this. Iâm already at the end of my damn rope.âÂ
âI know.âÂ
You closed your eyes at the feeling of his palms sliding warmly over your arms, trailing down until he could gently intertwine your fingers.Â
âIâll be on my best behavior,â He promised, âUntil weâre on the other side of this, and your business with the firm is closed out.âÂ
âAnd then what?âÂ
âAnd then Iâll give you hell.â You spluttered a laugh, unable to help it. Harvey chuckled softly, his nose nudging yours gently.Â
âI should go,â You warned softly. âLouis will come looking for me.âÂ
âDonna will keep him at bay.âÂ
âShe said two minutes. Itâs been at least threeââ You hardly had time to finish your protestation before Harvey kissed you. You swayed into him, lips slipping tenderly against his as he used his grasp to draw you flush against him. You wiggled your hands from his, curling your arms around his shoulders to keep close. You startled at the two knocks on the door, and smiled as Harvey groaned in irritation.Â
âI should let you go,â He mumbled. You nodded, murmured,
âProbably.âÂ
But neither of you rushed to move.Â
--Â
âI'm sorry to see you go. I've enjoyed our time together."
You sort of believed it, given the pinched, almost pained look that Louis leveled you across the desk. And, for all of your work with him over the last three months, you'd gained a sort of affinity for the man...Even if he was a little intense in a way that sometimes confused you. You smiled, taking up the final few documents that you would need for your record.
"I appreciate that, and thank you for all of your hard work, Mr. Litt. It's been..." You weighed your words carefully, "Interesting."
"For me, too. Reach out if you need anything elseâdoc review, mover recommendations, tickets to the ballet. Anything."
"Tickets to the ballet? I'm impressed." You held your hand out, smiling as he stood and pumped it enthusiastically. "Thank you again."
You were hardly four steps out of Louis' office when you found yourself flanked in the hallway.
"We should celebrate," Harvey insisted.
"And how would we do that?"
"Dinner at La Belle Vache."
Your brows rose as you glanced toward Mike.
"âThe beautiful cowâ?"
"Harvey's idea."
"With a restaurant name like that, it would have to be."
"Hey, that is not fair! I could be posh."
"It wouldn't suit you, Mr. Ross."
"Is that a yes or a no to dinner?" Harvey plied.
"When?"
"You busy tonight?"
"If I told you I had plans, would you believe me?"
"Not for a second."
"Well, I do."
"Cancel 'em."
"It's with my divorce lawyer."
"And here feels like a good stopping point for me." Mike wheeled around, striding back in the direction that he came.
"What the hell does David want with you after hours?"Â
"Deposition starts next week. We're drilling testimony."
"As long as that's all he's drilling."
"Watch it, Specter." You reached out, jabbing the down button on the elevator before turning back to Harvey. He pouted contemplatively before offering: "What about this weekend?"
"I think I could swing this weekend. Is dinner on the firm?"
"It's on me."
"Do you think..." You trailed off, glancing toward Jessica's office, "That the powers that be will approve?"
"Honestly?" Harvey lowered his voice,"I don't give a damn. It's been months. Your business here is wrapped. If Jessica wants to give me a good reason why I can't see you, she's welcome to tryâbut it won't work."
You bit the inside of your cheek to quell a smile as you reached out, gently straightening Harvey's tie.
"Very forceful, Mr. Specter."
"You like it?"
"It's kinda hot." You turned back and stepped onto the elevator as it chimed.
"This weekend," You finally agreed. "Invite MikeâHe's earned several dinners."
"He sure has."
The doors began to close, but Harvey darted in, catching them before they could shut all the way. He darted in, pressing a swift, warm kiss to your lips before he drew away again. You grinned as he stepped back, allowing the doors to close.
--
"As long as that's all he's drilling."
The memory of Harvey's teasing warning was on your mind throughout your time with David, and you found yourself fighting back smiles all evening.
"Do you have any plans for the weekend?"
David watched you from beneath his lashes as he asked, and where that look had intrigued you once, you knew better. You gave a short, firm nod, and insisted: "I have a date."
Your battle with Steven was far from over. You still had forgery cases pending, and your divorce case had hardly begun. But things felt a little lighter these days.
You had a direction, you had cash flow...But you didn't quite have the plan that you once did. You had told Harvey months ago that you were considering moving to Cambridge. It hadnât completely ceased to be true, but it wasnât your only consideration anymore.Â
There were moments when you could see the glimmer of a life to carve out for yourself: a smaller real estate firm with a few employeesâmaybe Aaron, if you could lure him away from Steven; a more comfortable apartment than where you were now, but you could live with where you were for a few more months as you got things in order; and, at the very least, a friendship with Harvey. You didnât know if what the two of you were doing would be sustainable, and you werenât sure whether either of you really wanted to knowâbut after all this time, you thought that maybe the two of you deserved another chance.Â
--Â Â
âImpressed?âÂ
It was a fair question, but you were doing your best to school your expression. You didnât want Harvey to know outright how much you did like his apartment. It was nothing less than you expectedâlarge (though not quite in the palatial way that your old penthouse was), tastefully decorated, with a gorgeous view. You knew why Harvey had brought you up, of course, but now he was just showing off.Â
Dinner had been its own round of grandstanding. You and Mike had watched, bemused, as Harvey had gone out of his way to pronounce all of the dishes in a French accent to the clearly not French (but feigning awe) waiter (who you were sure had to deal with this multiple times a day). Harvey had also taught you and Mike a thing or two about wineâor he had tried to, until Mike seemed no longer able to help himself and corrected Harvey on multiple facts about the RhĂŽne valley in the south of France.Â
It had been a far more pleasant evening that you had expected to have, and far more jovial than youâd had in a long time. Mike and Harvey were close; you and Harvey had a history; you and Mike had become friends over the course of your time working with him. When Mike had insisted that you all had to do this again sometime, you believed that he meant it. And when Harvey had invited you both up for a nightcap, Mike had politely declined with a smile and a shake of his head, offering:
âI think I should let you two have some time to doâŠWhatever it is that you need to do.âÂ
You hadnât been entirely sure what heâd meant, or what Harvey had told him. You were almost certain that he wouldâve been told why Harvey had been taken off of your case in the first place. And sure, now and again, over dinner, you and Harvey had caught one anotherâs eye, maybe shared a smile. Maybe heâd rested his hand on your knee a time or two, given it a squeezeâbecause he could. Because the two of you were close and on even footing for the first time in a while.Â
âItâsâŠâ You trailed off, shrugging. âCertainly an apartment.âÂ
âOh, please,â Harvey scoffed, taking two wine glasses down from the cabinet. âYouâre impressed.âÂ
âItâs nicer than I thought it would be.âÂ
âYouâre dazzled.âÂ
âI like the kitchen.âÂ
âYouâre helplessly turned on.âÂ
ââHelplesslyâ is pushing it.âÂ
âSo you admit that youâre turned on?âÂ
You rolled your eyes, no longer bothering to fight your smile off.Â
âMaybe,â You offered, settling onto the couch and kicking off your shoes. Harvey joined you moments later, passing you a glass of wine and gently clinking his against yours before you each took sips. His gaze remained heavy on yours, and he leaned in for a gentle kiss as soon as you lowered your glass. You hummed, raising a hand and cupping his jaw. You leaned back just a touch, smiling as he crowded closer, dipping his head to brush kisses along your neck as his warm palm gently smoothed up your thigh.Â
â...Harvey?âÂ
âSure, I can show you the bedroom.âÂ
You laughed softly, shaking your head a little. âCan we talk about it?âÂ
He groaned, forehead dropping heavily against your shoulder. âWhy do you always insist on ruining a perfectly good time?âÂ
âLike when?â
âLike when we were in the Hamptons.âÂ
âYou thank your lucky fucking stars that I put a stop to that.âÂ
âYeah,â He grumbled, leaning back. You watched him swirl his wine in his glass.Â
âPlease,â You pleaded softly.Â
â...I didnât write the note.âÂ
Fuck.Â
âOkay.âÂ
âI wrote a note, butâŠNot that one.âÂ
âWho wrote that one?âÂ
âScottie.âÂ
â...Okay.âÂ
âI couldnât find the one Iâd written, she insisted that I couldnât leave you with nothing.âÂ
âWell, she was right.âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
You that that sink in for a moment before you pressed: âWhy did you leave?â
âI had doubts.âÂ
âAbout me?âÂ
âAbout us. You know how my parents were, you knowâŠâ He trailed off, shaking his head. âYou know what I saw.âÂ
âAnd you thought I would do that to you?âÂ
âI was afraid of it.âÂ
âIf you were afraid of it, then you thought I was capable of it.âÂ
ââAnd when you got married to Steven so quicklyââÂ
âOhâ!â The heavy, stunned, indignant laugh was pained as it left you. You pushed off of the couch, standing and walking out of Harveyâs reach. You heard him sigh heavily behind you, chased by the clink of him setting his wine glass down as he muttered, âThis is why I didnât want to talk about this.âÂ
âDo you know why I got married so quickly?â You whirled around to face him.Â
âBecause you loved Steven?âÂ
âI never said that. I thought I loved him a bit, sure, but I was afraid that this,â You waved a finger between the two of you, âWould happen again. I thought he would leave. I was afraid that I would spend my entire life being left. So when Steven showed me the slightest bit of attention, I latched on. We eloped. He wanted a big wedding, but I just,â You waved your hand around, âI couldnât do that a second time. Any of it. I didnât get a new dress, neither of our families were there, because I knew that they would all watch me, and him, and theyâd be thinking it: Is it going to happen again?âÂ
âYouâre saying your entire life with Steven was my fault?âÂ
âIâm saying that I made a choice, and that what happened with you was a factorâNot a fault, a factor. And why!â You let out another harsh hysterical laugh as tears welled in your eyes, âWhy didnât you just talk to me? What did I do then to make you think that you couldnât talk to me?â
âI wasnât ready!âÂ
âAnd we could have talked about that! What made you think that I wouldnât have been alright with moving the wedding back, or going to counseling with you, or whatever you would have needed to get us there?â
âYou wanted to get married.â
âI wanted you, Harvey! I would have waited, Iââ You turned away, sniffling heavily as tears slipped from your eyes. âFuck. Ugh.â You raised your glass, draining it before striding over the counter, desperate to put some more distance between the two of you. You set the glass down and yanked a paper towel off of the roll, swiping at your under eyes to clear away any running mascara. You blew your nose as well before balling up the tissue and lobbing it toward the trash can. You heard Harveyâs approaching footsteps, and you pulled in a deep, stuttering breath as he rested his hands on your shoulders.Â
â...Thereâs no way for me to take back or change what I did.âÂ
âWould you if you could?âÂ
âYes.â
â...Okay.âÂ
âDo you believe me?âÂ
âI donât know.âÂ
He sighed, pressing a kiss to the back of your head as his hands soothingly rubbed over your arms. You sniffled again, swiping away a stray tear before resting your hands on the counter.Â
âYou changed the way that I love, Harvey,â You shook your head. âFor better or worse, whether you meant to or not, you changed it.â You glanced back toward him. âI canât get those bits of myself back. You took them from me.âÂ
âI know. I took them from both of us.âÂ
You nodded, slowly letting yourself lean back against him. His arms curled around your middle, and you heard a soft, almost relieved groan leave him. You let your eyes close as he pressed a kiss to your temple. The two of you stood there in silence for a few moments, allowing yourselves to settle.Â
â...Stay tonight?â He murmured after a few moments. You nodded, smiling as his hold tightened on you again, as if wary that you would change your mind.Â
--Â
He had a few more smile lines. His hair still mussed the same; he still made little mumbling noises as he slowly rose from sleep to consciousness. He was still a furnace to sleep beside, and he still held you through the night. It was almost a relief that none of that had changed.Â
Waking up in his arms made you feel like it had when you were younger: safe, and loved, and wanted. You hadn't appreciated it when you'd had it just a few months ago, but you were desperate to catch on to every little bit of him now.
You were never going to be able to turn back the hands of timeâto go back and warn him, or yourself, or someone that your first wedding day would be a disaster, that it would set you off on a path that you could never have anticipated for yourself. Discussing what had happened hadn't truly healed any of your old wounds.
But as the sun began to creep over the Manhattan skyline and seep into Harveyâs bedroom, you felt closer to peace than you had in a long, long time.Â
Harvey snuffled, nuzzling your shoulder as his fingers curled in your borrowed nightshirt.Â
âYou awake?â He mumbled, the same low, gravely murmur that you had once loved, and missed.Â
âMmmhm.âÂ
âWant coffee?âÂ
âYes.âÂ
He yawned widely, pressing his face into your shoulder and warming your skin through the fabric. âBagels?âÂ
âSure.âÂ
ââKay.âÂ
Neither of you made a move to get either. Instead, you combed your fingers through his hair, closed your eyes, and listened to the steady rise and fall of his breathing as you both fell back asleep.Â

âShe is a Christian,â Floki whispered in Ragnars ear as the pair studied the girl presented to them, âWe should get rid of her, not drag her around with us. She will only slow us down,â
While Flokiâs eyes bore into Ragnars skull the kingsâ eyes lingered elsewhere. They had taken your village some days ago when one of his men found you hiding in the forest. The sight of you on your knees, even if it were to pray to a false god to survive, was enough to convince Ragnar.
âI should like to keep her,â he said, watching how your lips wrapped around the words you mumbled, âUntie her hands,â he commanded one of his men as Floki sighed.
âWhat is it with you and your Christian pets? At least keep her hands bound,â he tried to reason but Ragnar just shook his head. He knew you wouldnât run.
A couple of weeks had passed of successful raiding and gold was beginning to pile up around him. Ragnar sat at the makeshift feast they had decided to throw after taking another village however his eyes were once again on the Christian girl who sat across from him. At first you used to flush under his gaze, a sight he enjoyed and often tried to tease out by whispering pretty words in your ear.
Ragnar leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, âWhat are you thinking about?â he asked, your eyes snapping up to meet his.
âThat I may sleep soon. The night is growing long,â
âThat is an excellent idea. Perhaps I should join you,â he said, smirking at the way you began to stutter and flush, âTell me something. Where you married before?â
You paused for a moment before answering, âNo, why?â
Ragnar shook his head, âwell I heard,â he said, leaning in closer and grinning as you did the same as his voice dropped to a whisper, âthat it is only the married ones who get fucked,â
âI-well-I- yes it would be a sin otherwise,â you stuttered out, face growing hot as Ragnar poured himself another glass of wine. âIâm not even supposed to talk aboutâŠthat,â
âWhy not?â
âIt is a sin,â
âWhy?â he asked, tilting his head like a curious child.
The awkward smile worn on your lips made a real one grow on his face, âBecause god said so,â
âHave you spoken to god,â
âWell, no,â
âThen how do you know?â a frustrated sigh left your lips that made Ragnars grin widen. He was getting to you and enjoying every moment of it. he leaned in closer once more, whispering for your sake more than anything,â Why would a god create something so beautiful then not let you appreciate its wonders?â
âIt is a sin,â you clung to the excuse, realising you did not know why either.
The laugh that left his mouth however caught you off guard and your lips twitched, almost forming a smile at the smile on his face. That was until he spoke again, âPerhaps we should sin together one time,â he said, standing and grabbing his cup of wine. Before he could leave, he sauntered over to whisper one last thing in your ear, âAnd the idea of you falling apart on my cock is enough to make me believe in my god,â
A few more weeks had passed and soon you would be heading back with the raiders to their land. Despite still being wary of many of the men some, Ragnar specifically, had grown on you. âWhere will I stay when you take me back with you?â you asked one night as you began to brush through your hair.
Ragnar glanced at you as he began to unlace his boots. While he had unbound your hands, he had insisted on keeping you in his tent, thankfully on your own bed, thought you wondered if this was for his entertainment or safety, âI will find somewhere for you,â he answered simply before reaching to pull his shirt over his head.
Despite seeing this sight many times, the way his muscles flexed, and his tattoos gleamed against his skin made a tingle shoot through your spine. âSo, I wonât be a slave? Or is it a thrall you call them?â
Ragnar paused for a moment, his eyes scanning over you, âYou need not worry little one. I will take care of you,â
A moment passed before you allowed yourself to smile, âThank you Ragnar,â you said and a small smile crept onto his lips as he settled himself above his sheets, his eyes scanning over you.
âCome here,â he said, nervousness washing over you, âTrust me,â
You paused at first before standing from beneath your covers. Your underdress was the only thing to cover you now as you crossed the tent. Ragnar patted the spot beside him and cautiously you sat down, picking at your thumbs. His hand closed over yours, âYouâll make yourself bleed,â he said, and you just nodded as his eyes continued to study your face.
âHas anyone ever kissed you?â he whispered.
You swallowed before answering, âOnce,â you said, tempted to pick at your skin but somehow resisting, âBut I wasnât very good at it,â
âPerhaps you should try again,â he whispered, his hot breath fanning over your skin as he moved to rest his forehead against yours.
âPerhaps you could teach me,â you whispered, a spark lighting in his eyes, âif I am to go back to your land perhaps it is time I Learned your ways,â
âAll our ways?â he asked, his hand reaching over to run his fingers lightly up your thighs making you shiver, âIs that what you desire little one?â
âWould it be so wrong if I did?â you asked and the way your wide eyes gazed into his made Ragnars cock begin to harden.
His hand trailed slowly up your leg, torturously so until it arrived at your hip. You gasped when he grabbed it, pulling you over to straddle his thigh. âRagnar- âyou gasped, when he bent his leg up, propping you up on his strong thigh, âWhat are you doing?â
âTeaching,â his hands reached for your hair, pulling your lips down onto his. This was far different from the last time someone had kissed you. this was rough and needy and made whines leave your throat as one of his hands moved to your hips.
You couldnât even question what he was doing before he began to move your hip, making you grind down onto his thigh. The way you whimpered made Ragnar wonder if Odin himself had blessed him. Ragnar guided your hips and soon your body took over, rubbing your clit against his strong thigh as his hand squeezed the flesh of your hips.
When he pulled his lips away yours chased after his making a chuckle leave them before he began to kiss down your jaw. âYou donât need to be quite little one,â he mumbled against your skin as a soft moan left your mouth, âNo one will judge,â
His lips soon found the crook of your neck, kissing it in a way that made a knot in your stomach tighten. Since your hips now moved of their own accord his hands were free to travel up your frame, taking your tits in his hand and making you gasp as he squeezed them softly.
He felt his cock twitch at the feeling of the Hardened buds beneath your shift. His fingertips trailed slowly around your nipples at first, enjoying your needy whines before he finally began to roll them between his fingers.
âOh god,â you moaned as he pinched them gently, but your words just made him want you more and groan against your skin.
It didnât take long for a tight feeling to spread across your body, âWhat is happening to me?â you asked but it came out as more of a whine.
âEnjoy it little one,â Ragnar said, his lips moving to kiss your check, âLet yourself let go,â he said before your lips slammed onto his even catching yourself by surprise. Your moans allowed him to slip his tongue in, the kiss becoming messier and more desperate as you grinded against his thigh.
He felt your body jerk and Ragnar smirked into the kiss knowing what was about to happen. Your lips broke apart only for your head to fall in the crook of his shoulder, âOh god,â you began to moan again before you felt your peak wash over you like a tidal wave.
sensing your body tensing and hips slowly Ragnar reached for your hips, moving them for you so he could watch you ride out your peak on his thigh. Curses left your lips before you finally slumped into his chest. Ragnar let out a small chuckle, letting his leg lay flat and holding you against his chest. Ragnar had defiantly made the right decision he thought.

.á chapter two: just doinâ to waste more time on the couch
wc: 1.7k
I had just gotten back from my evening class, exhausted, and as I walked into our apartment, the familiar sight of Vi greeted me. She was sprawled on the couch, her arms draped casually over the back, looking entirely too comfortable.
âThought youâd be out by now,â I said, locking the door behind me and slipping off my shoes. âDidnât you have a party or something?â
âTrying to get rid of me already?â she teased, stretching her arms above her head before sitting up straight, her eyes flickering back to her phone. âI was supposed to go to some girlâs house, but she canceled. Something about her parents being in town.â
âWho is the unfortunate soul of the week?â I ask lightly, masking the bitterness that threatened to creep into my voice. Like I wanted to know her latest fling, like knowing who she was fucking didnât make me want throw myself off our balcony.
âJust some girl from one of my classes,â she said with a shrug. âSheâs in a sorority. Was trying to get us into one of their parties.â
âDonât use me as an excuse for your hookups,â I shot back as I headed into the kitchen. âYou know I hate parties.â I opened the fridge, looking for something quick and easy to make. Todayâs lecture had been brutalâour ancient professor talking on and on about the anatomy of the human brain in a voice so soft and slow it could have put a hyperactive toddler to sleep. âDo you want anything specific for dinner? Iâm starving and just survived a lecture from hell.â
âIâm not using you as an excuse for my hookups,â Vi said, leaning her elbows on the counter, her grin wide and infuriating. âI just think you should live a little, you know? What are your college years for if not to get drunk and regret it later?â
I raised an eyebrow at her, unimpressed. âYou seriously think thatâs a good argument?â
She laughed, the sound warm and effortless. âIâm just saying. Youâre too uptight sometimes.â Her eyes softened a little. âBut hey, if youâre tired, how about I cook?â
I blinked. âYou? Cook? The person who once burnt noodles?â
Vi put a hand to her chest, feigning offense. âHey! That was only one time! You have no faith in me.â
âNone,â I deadpanned, though my lips quirked up in a small smile.
âWell, fine,â she said, crossing her arms and leaning back against the counter. Her white tank top drawing attention to her toned biceps, and I could see the faint outline of her nipple piercings through the fabric. My stomach twisted in a way that had nothing to do with hunger. God, I hated her so much.
âHow about this?â she said, snapping me out of my thoughts. âWe order pizza. That way, no one has to suffer my cooking or your exhaustion.â
âPizza sounds good,â I agreed.
Vi grabbed her phone and started scrolling. âPepperoni and extra cheese, right? Or do you want to try something new?â
I glanced at her, my heart doing that stupid thing where it skipped a beat when she smiled. âPepperoniâs fineâ I said, my voice steadier than I felt.
She placed the order, and as she leaned back against the counter again, I caught her watching me out of the corner of her eye. âYouâre really not gonna come to a party with me, huh?â
I shook my head, smirking. âProbably not.â
Vi sighed dramatically. âOne day, Iâll drag you out of this apartment and into the real world. Just you wait.â
âGood luck with that,â I said, rolling my eyes, though deep down, a small part of me wished I could be the person she thought I should beâthe person who wasnât terrified of being too close to her, of losing what little I had.
After the pizza arrived, we settled onto the couch and started watching a movie. As we ate, I couldnât help but think about our sleepovers when we were younger. My mom would make popcorn and order pizza, and weâd wait for her to fall asleep so we could watch horror movies behind her back. Weâd stay up until sunrise, too scared to sleep, even though Violet would never admit she was scared. Sheâd always say, âDonât worry, Iâll protect you if the demon from the movie comes after us,â as if her words could somehow make us invincible.
I smiled at the thought, the memory of us together on the couch, our eyes wide with fear but not daring to show it. Things had changed since then, but in some ways, they hadnât. It was comforting, like we were still those two kids who shared everything.
Viâs voice interrupted my thoughts. âI know you just said you wouldnât go to a party with me, but thereâs one tomorrow, and since you donât like going out with me cause I âalways leave you aloneâ, I invited Jinx and Ekko. I figured Iâd make it a group thing. Besides, They can keep you company if youâre too miserable to have fun.â
I didnât exactly hate going out with her. It wasnât that. It was just... well, the thought of her hooking up with someone at a party, the thought of her being all over someone else while I watched from the sidelines, made my stomach turn. I knew she didnât owe me anything, that she was free to do whatever she wanted, but that didnât mean I had to subject myself to watching it. Iâd rather avoid the heartache if I could.
I took a slow breath as i picked the crust from the discarded pizza box and said, âI donât know, Vi. You know how I feel about those things.â
Vi rolled her eyes, clearly trying to be playful, but I could tell there was a hint of concern behind her teasing. âYou act like Iâm going to drag you into some wild hookup situation. Itâs just a party. Come on, you need to have a little fun.â
I hesitated, the conflict swirling inside me. I didnât want to go and watch her with someone else, but I didnât want to say no either, not to her. Not when she was asking.
âIâll think about it,â I finally said, hoping it was enough of an answer to let her drop the subject for the night.
She looked at me, her blue eyes flickering with something I couldnât quite place. âFine, but you owe me.â
I laughed, but it felt a little hollow. âYeah, sure. Iâll owe you one.â
As we settled in to watch one last movie, my mind kept drifting to the same thought over and over: how I was letting my feelings get in the way of living my life. I never regretted meeting Violet or becoming her friend, but I did regret being stupid enough to catch feelings for the only friend I had. Stupid enough to let those feelings dictate my actions, my choices, my entire life. The truth was, I was angry at myself. Iâd never been a party girl or a social butterfly, and the idea of getting drunk and accidentally confessing my feelings to Viâor doing something even worseâmade my chest tighten with panic.
I glanced over at her, and for a moment, the weight of everything seemed to fade. She had drifted to sleep, her head resting against the armrest, her lips parted just slightly. I couldnât help but observe her, taking in every little detail: the freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose, how they dotted her cheeks, the long lashes framing her closed eyes, the scar on her lip. I thought about how much I wanted to trace it with my finger, to just touch her and see if that would make the feelings go away. She looked so peaceful and delicate, the complete opposite of what she showed on a daily bases. It felt almost criminal how beautiful she was.
I shook my head at myself, letting out a quiet sigh. What is wrong with you?
I nudged her shoulder lightly. âVi, wake up. You need to go to your bed,â I whispered, trying not to disturb her too much.
She groaned, her brows knitting together, the sleepiness evident on her face. âNo, wanna sleep hereâŠâ she mumbled, tugging at my sleeve like a child reluctant to leave the warmth of comfort.
I sighed, trying to hold back a smile at how cute she looked. âYouâll have a backache tomorrow if you keep sleeping like thatâ I said softly.
âWorth itâ she muttered, settling deeper into her position, clearly not planning on getting up anytime soon.
I couldnât help but laugh under my breath, watching her stubbornly try to get more comfortable. Part of me just wanted to let her stay there, to keep her close, but I knew she needed to sleep properly if she wanted to avoid a sore back the next day.
âCome on, Vi,â I said gently, nudging her again. âIf you go to sleep in your own bed, Iâll go to that party with you.â
That seemed to catch her attention. She opened one eye, peeking at me with suspicion. âAre you serious?â she asked, her voice still thick with sleep.
I nodded reluctantly, unsure if I was making the right choice. She sat up slowly and raised her pinky towards me âjust like we used to do when we were kids.
âPinky promise?â she asked suspiciously.
âYes, pinky promise,â I replied, matching the smile that had formed on her face as I interlocked our pinkies together.
âOkay, now I will go to sleep,â she said with a satisfied grin, as if she had won a battle, before stumbling off towards her room.
I watched her go, feeling a strange mix of relief and discomfort. I had agreed to go to the party with her, but now that it was settled, I couldnât shake the feeling in the pit of my stomach.
As I took my shower and settled into bed for the night, my mind wouldnât stop racing. I lay there, staring at the ceiling, thinking about everything. âWhat am I doing with my life?â I asked myself, the question echoing in my head, unanswered.
Maybe going to the party wouldnât be such a big deal. Maybe it would give me a chance to breathe, to live a little outside the confines of my own thoughts. But deep down, I knew it wasnât that simple. It never was when it came to Vi.

Uncredited Photographer Soviet Red Army Physician Examining Newly Liberated Prisoners at the Auschwitz Murder Camp 1945
Today marks the 80th Anniversary of the Red Army's Liberation os Auschwitz.
"A ghastly sight arose before our eyes: a vast number of barracks (in Birkenau)⊠People lay in bunks inside many of them. They were skeletons clad in skin, with vacant gazes. Of course we spoke with them. However, these were brief conversations, because these people who remained alive were totally devoid of strength, and it was hard for them to say much about their time in the camp. They were suffering from starvation, and they were exhausted and sick. That is why our interviews, such as they were, had to be very brief. We wrote down the things they told us. When we talked with these people and explained to them who we were and why we had come here, they trusted us a bit more. The women wept, and â this cannot be concealed â the men wept as well. You could say that there were pyramids on the grounds of the camp. Some were made up of accumulated clothing, others of pots, and others still of human jaws. I believe that not even the commanders of our army had any idea of the dimensions of the crime committed in this largest of camps. The memory has stayed with me my whole life long. All of this was the most moving and most terrible thing that I saw and filmed during the war. Time has no sway over these recollections. It has not squeezed all the horrible things I saw and filmed out of my mindâŠ" Alexander Vorontsov, a member of the Red Army film crew that witnessed and documented the liberation of Auschwitz.
"Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky.
Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever.
Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul, and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am consigned to live as long as God Himself Never. Lumberjack Tales - The Hairy Bear (4)
Summary: Youâre back.
Pairing: Lumberjack!Ari Levinson x fem!Reader
Warnings: fluff, unplanned pregnancy, remorse, we love Bear
This story is part of my Lumberjack Tales masterlist
Catch up here: Lumberjack Tales - The Hairy Bear (Snippet)
Written for @buck-star "Fluffy Winter Event"
I used the tropes: Cabin in the woods + Grumpy x Sunshine + soon to be parents
Ari didnât let you out of sight. He made sure Bear, and he would flank your sides until you arrived at your apartment. At least, he didnât complain about your small apartment.
While you watched Ari and Bear step inside your apartment, an uneasy feeling spread in your chest. You wrung your hands while intrusive thoughts made you anxious.
What if itâs a mistake to go back? What if he regrets taking you home? What if he hates the baby and you? What ifs swirled in your mind as Ari looked around your home.
âWhat do you want to take with you? Weâre not going to come back here,â he said, pointing toward the couch in your living room. âI only need to know what youâre taking with you, and youâll sit here and have a rest.â
âAri,â you sighed and shook your head. âWe canât go back to what we had so easily. What if you change your mind again? I already quit my job, and now you want me to give up my apartment too. If I leave now I wonât have a place to return to.â
âGood,â he said, and wrapped his arm around your middle to guide you toward the couch. âNow sit and tell me what youâll need at our home. Bear will keep you company.â
Sitting down on your couch, you sighed again, a little louder this time.
âWhat is it? Are you in pain? Is it the baby?â Ari sat next to you on the couch to rest his head on your belly. âBaby, are you okay in there? Are you bugging your mommy? Be good. She needs a rest. Your daddy was an idiot.â
âItâs that Iâm scared youâll change your mind again. I canât do this again. Men always tell you they want you back and change their mind easily the moment a new face shows up.â
âMy sweet tramp,â Ari murmured against your belly. âI only want you. Do you honestly believe I moved into the cabin in the middle of nowhere to bring girls home every other day?â
âI donât know you well enough to tell if youâre a kinky bastard keeping girls in your basement,â you sassed back. âI feared youâd put me down there too.â
Ari chuckled against you, âI only ever wanted to put you in my bed, naughty girl. So, can I pack your things or do you want Bear to beg you even more?â Bear whined loudly at the mention of his name. âY/N, look at him. He has missed his mommy so much. The poor dog barely ate his food.â
âAriââ you sniffed and wiped your wet eyes. âIâm scared that youâll turn your back on me again. How can I trust you again?â
âLittle tramp, I know itâs much to ask for, but please have a little faith in me. Our relationship started with a nice chase and the best sex I ever had. You know that there is more between us than sex nowâ
You watched him rub your belly. It felt odd having Ari so close again.
âI donât like getting yelled at.â
âI swear, Y/N.â Ari wrapped his arms around you and nuzzled your belly. âI need you back in my life. There will be no yelling. Your grumpy bear will tame his temper for you.â
âI donât want you to be tame,â you teased while patting his head. âI want you to promise me that we will talk about the things bugging you.â
âPromised, my little tramp.â
Ari did quick work. He got lots of moving boxes and packed up all of your things. Luckily, your apartment was furnished, so you didnât have to take any furniture with you.
On your way back, you slept in the backseat, cuddled up with Bear. Ari drove slower than ever in his life, afraid to crash his car with you and his baby onboard.
He glances in the rearview mirror more than once, a content smile on his lips. Ari imagined you all swollen with his child.
âBear, we got lucky with our little tramp. I bet our baby will keep you on your toes, you beastâŠâ
Tail-waggling Bear was following you around the cabin. The Estrela Mountain Dog decided to play your bodyguard. Even Ari had to prove that he was no threat.
âBear,â you cooed and patted his head as the huge dog sat next to you on the couch. He rested his head on your lap and whined, begging for cuddles. âYouâre such a good boy.â
Ari watched you and Bear cuddle on the sofa. He sighed because you still showed him the cold shoulder. You barely let him kiss you goodnight.
âBaby?â Ari tried to get your attention. âI wanted to drive to town to get more supplies. Itâs getting colder, and the roads will be more dangerous soon. Do you need anything?â
You looked at Ari, holding back a chuckle. Watching him grovel was your sweet revenge on him. âIâll come with you. I need to get out for a while.â
âWait. Uhâwhy donât you stay here?â Ari asked. âI can get everything youâll need.â
âAri, Iâll need some ladyâs toiletries,â you grinned at him. âSkincare, shampoo, and all the nice things you donât care much about.â
âYou can use my shampoo,â he said and touched his shaggy hair. âIf itâs good for my hair, itâs good for yours, too.â
You snorted. âNo, itâs not. Iâll come with you. If youâre scared, Iâll run again, you can hold my hand the whole time.â
He smirked and said, âIâll keep you up on that promise, tramp. Now, Iâll get your boots and help you put them on.â
âAri, Iâm pregnant, not sick.â
He raises one hand. âYouâre pregnant with my baby, and Iâll make sure you and our bean are safe and sound. No discussion.â
âFine, fine,â you agreed. âGet the boots, and we can be on our wayâŠâ
âNot much to see here,â Ari admitted as you looked around one of the few stores in town. âI can lead you to the ladyâs products.â
âI think Iâm good, Ari,â you tried to let go of his hand, but he wouldnât let you. You sighed and gave in.
Following Ari toward the shelf with crĂšmes and lotions, you felt eyes on you. The girl at the checkout watched you giggle at something Ari said. He suggested buying all the lotions to rub some into Bearâs fur to make him look pretty, too.
âAri, no,â you giggled and playfully elbowed him. âBear is a pretty boy. He doesnât need lotions.â
âSame goes for you, little tramp.â He leaned down to peck your temple, earning an eye roll from the cashier. She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. All the time she invested to seduce Ari just went down the drain. âSo, what will we get for you.â
She walked around the checkout to listen to your and Ariâs conversation. Susie wasnât willing to give up yet.
âI have a list.â You got your list out of your pocket to hand it to Ari. âWe should get a few more things they donât have here.â
âWe can order everything online. I got a guy for that.â You chuckled at the seriousness in his voice. âName it, and itâs yours.â
âNipple cream for sore nipples.â His cheeks turned pink at that. âWhat? Theyâre going to be sore. Things like that happen when youâre pregnant.â
Susie gasped. If youâre pregnant, there was not much hope she could win Ari over.
âIâll get you all the cream in the world,â Ari purred and stole a kiss.
âMaybe,â you said and fisted his jacket, âwe should get some lube tooâŠâ
âOh, sweet tramp,â he replied before stealing another kiss, âwe wonât need lube. We both know youâre dripping wet for me all the timeâŠâ

ok i really really really enjoyed watching the first two episodes and i think the show is already so faithful to the books in ways the movies wished they were BUT iâm gonna be a bitch just because i can and rant about a few insignificant but at the same time very important Things the writers didnât Understand:
percy is angry.
and i know this is seen with his anger towards poseidon in the show, but iâm talking angry. as in, generally speaking. when heâs with grover and theyâre talking about nancy, percy says something along the lines of âwe should fight back,â and groverâs like ânoooo we canât stand up to bullies.â and then percy stands up to her and blah blah blahâŠbut in the books percyâs first line is âiâm going to kill herâ after she throws a sandwich at grover. grover talks him out of it because heâs already on probation.
with just this scene we know percy stands up to bullies, and thatâs partly why he has so much trouble at school! in the show, he stands up to nancy, apparently for the first time, and gets kicked out because of it! sorry but as someone who worked in a school, i know for a fact that kids can get away with so much more before theyâre actually kicked out lol. it wouldâve made sense, like in tlt, that heâs already at risk of suspension so him âpushingâ nancy is the final straw. itâs just very weird, considering it could be only a line of dialogue that makes percyâs anger and the connection between his outburst and him getting kicked out more clear.
consequently, percy arrives at his appartment and gabe is just a general (still admittedly abusive) jerk instead of a drunk, violent (also abusive) man. when we meet gabe, it makes a lot of sense why percy has so much trouble with his anger. itâs easy to see that connection. literal child + alcoholic abusive father figure = thereâs bound to be some troubleâŠ.thatâs not really the case in the show, especially in the way that sally easily stands up to him. people have said a fair bit about this topic already, so iâm not gonna expand on that, but i really wish the writers had focused more on percyâs internal anger, as itâs such an important part of his character and affects the way he reacts to things throughout the books; it just worries me that in the first episode it wasnât as established. i. e. he hates dionysus on sight because he reminds him of smelly gabe, he hates the godsâis angry at poseidonâbecause, where was he when my mom and i were suffering at the hands of smelly gabe? ok iâm not gonna talk about more of this or of sally because other people have said it and i could write a four page essay of what the show got wrong plus i want to talk abt other things before this gets too long:
the monster scenes.
the mrs. dodds being a fury reveal felt soooâŠweird? even the movie version did it better lol. it felt super rushed and strange how percyâs just standing there and the next heâs on the ground, but he had riptide with him so he just impaled her and then she turned to dust??? in the books, not only does she get percy alone, but grover tries to stand up to herâwhich is a big deal since he knows what she truly is and shows how much he cares for percy in that moment. percy has time to be genuinely terrified bc heâs alone with a literal monster and heâs about to dieâŠand chiron throws him riptide just in time, but then he too vanishes so percyâs left wondering if he imagined everything. but no, in the show mrs. dodds comes out of nowhere and attacks him, and itâs so fast that percy doesnât have time to dwell on wtf happened. the situation doesnât seem as serious as it does in the book; in the book she tries to interrogate percy bc she thinks heâs the lightning thief, and when she doesnât get her answer, she attacks him. this is another thing: the stakes. they donât feel as high in the show because thereâs no annabeth trying to ask percy what was stolen, no hellhound, no fates cutting a string, and no alecto/mrs. dodds interrogation. thereâs not much of a lead up to the quest, really.
theeen the minotaur scene, which also feels super weirdly paced and thereâs just not that same sense of urgency. again, other people have talked about this, so iâll just stick to another main concern of mine: groverâs role in the scene. it was so strange how in the book heâs semi unconscious and in the show heâs fine (so fine that sally does something completely out of character and makes grover swear to keep percy safe? she would never put that much pressure in a child???) ok so he seems fine in the show, but then when theyâre running percyâs holding him as if he canât walk???? theyâre not even fully sprinting, given that a monster is chasing them lol. (the problem with the stakes; i mean with the way they run and have an entire talk with sally makes it feel like theyâre not in any real danger).
back to grover: he was perfectly fine, and he got percy back safe. not at all like in tlt, where percy has to practically carry him back, after loosing his mom and killing the minotaur. THEN percy passes out and later wakes up at the big house. this is important, bc groverâs entire THING is being percyâs protector, and he couldnât do that properly bc he was indisposed. he felt awful. of course he did. his character arc is overcoming the guilt and insecuritiesâthat heâs not a proper protector and therefore canât search for pan; his main character motivationâby successfully completing the quest and helping percy retrieve the master bolt.
these are just little seeds that needed to be planted in the first two episodes of the showâŠso that the rest of the show feels cohesive and makes sense with what happens in tlt. if these character traits and scenes are looked over and not given proper importance/not replaced with something similar, then the show will have a different tone than it does to the books. i donât think itâs necessarily bad, but it is disappointing that the details sprinkled in the source material are lost in translation. they may have seemed insignificant to the writers, but not to meeee!!!!!!
#pjo adaptation#percy jackson#grover underwood#they shouldâve hired a couple of insane pjo girlies to read and revise the script. just saying!!!!

Yandere!Cult Leader/Priest Ă gn!reader
Summary: Mason Blackwair always knew you'd be his. His sweet little dove, kept peacefully by his side, it's such a shame you've gotten so disillusioned with the teachings, but that's fine. It just gives him the opportunity to keep you with him forever now, willing or not.
CW: gaslighting, stabbing, cults, abuse of power, pet names, religious themes/wording, breeding, disassociating (reader), non-con, dycraphilia, dubious consent, loss of virginity, threats & as always if you think I missed anything just pm or say anything!
Note: peeks in and waves hi! Hope you guys like this one if you want a part 2 let me know!! ~ bunny
You are a member of your family's cult. Recently, you've begun to doubt your faith and the cult members found you guilty; as punishment, you were chosen to sacrifice yourself in the name of God.
At night you came to your priest, Mason Blackwair cell to ask him to mitigate your punishment. Mason sits quietly and calmly, his face illuminated by the light of a candle, his thin long fingers running over the pages of the Bible. Finally, Mason notices you standing in the aisle and smiles brightly. Despite the certain joy in his face, it is obvious that his smile is fake and here just for the sake of politeness.
âHello, my dear dove. What brings you here?â
Mason doesn't let you answer and interrupts you with a little laugh.
âAh, wait! I think I got it, little dove. Did you come here to talk about your punishment? I am sorry to tell you this, but I cannot influence the sacrifice in any way. Soon I will become the leader of our beautiful commune and that is why I need to maintain the reputation of a strict and fair managerâŠâ
For a second, something like annoyance and sadness flashes in Mason's eyes and he quickly turns away.
âMy advice is⊠To open your heart for salvation, little dove. Perhaps our Lord will hear your request.â
"The same Lord who wants them to tie me to the altar and cut me until I'm cleansed?â
You demanded softly, teary eyed as you looked into his eyes, the eyes that once belonged to your childhood friend. The sweet boy who used to pick flowers with you and run around the commune, now turned into nothing but a stranger.
Mason pauses for a moment, his eyes scanning your face as if he is trying to find something in your expression. Finally, he stands up from his seat and walks towards you, stopping just inches away from you.
"My dear dove⊠Do you know what this sacrifice means? It doesn't mean that they want to kill you. They want God to purify your soul by shedding your blood.â
Mason puts a hand on your shoulder, smiling gently at you.
"Look at me, little dove. You know how much I care about you and the commune's faith. But it doesn't mean that I am blind to the human side of things. I will talk with your father and see what we can do for you."
At this point, there is a sincere and caring note in Mason's voice.
"But remember, our Lord has a plan for all of us, even when it seems like He is leading us through dark paths."
You just shook, rage and fear in your veins. You quickly turned away and left him behind, crying now. It broke his heart to see you so upset, he reached out for you but only touched empty air as you exited with the final parting words.
"I'm retiring to my prison.â
Mason watches you retreat silently, his expression unreadable. Once you are out of sight, he sighs deeply and picks up the Bible again. He flips through its pages, frowning at whatever it is that he sees.
After a few minutes of brooding in silence, Mason closes the book and walks towards the door of his cell. Before leaving, he turns back to look at the empty room with a sad smile on his lips.
"I hope you'll forgive me someday for what I'm about to do."
He murmurs softly before blowing out the candles and leaving it behind, retiring to his bedroom.
You spent the entire night crying your eyes out, lamenting that all you'd see tomorrow was the crazed looks of the people you once thought of as family, your weak pathetic cries echoing around your cell.
You stood still as your parents led you to the altar, your father offering soft whispers of apologies as he and your mother tied you down, a knife lay beside the altar. You looked up at the ceiling, teary-eyed.
As you lay tied to the altar, your family gathers around with solemn expressions. The room is dimly lit and there's a faint smell of incense in the air.
Mason steps forward, his robes rustling as he walks towards the altar. He stops at the edge, looking down at his dove with an unreadable expression.
"Dear little doveâŠ" Mason says softly, reaching for one of your hands. "You are about to become a vessel for our Lord's power. Do not be afraid.â
Mason picks up the knife from beside the altar and holds it gently in his hand.
"I will be performing this sacrifice myself," he adds. "May God have mercy on your soul."
With that said, Mason places a gentle kiss on your forehead before raising the knife above his head with both hands.
"Do not resist," he whispers to your ear. "Receive His love."
You closed your eyes and sobbed, refusing to let that sick yet soft look in his eyes be the last thing you saw.
Mason hesitates for a brief moment, his grip on the knife faltering slightly as he hears you crying. A flicker of emotions crosses his face before he quickly regains his composure.
"Dear dove," Mason says softly, almost pleadingly. "Do not be afraid. The pain is temporary but the glory you will experience afterward is eternal."
With that said, Mason slowly lowers the knife towards your chest.
"May our Lord have mercy on your soul," he whispers as he plunges the blade into your flesh.
The sacrifice lasts only a few seconds - it's short, but terrifying- and everything becomes blurry to you, as if you'd been transported out of your body and that someone else was experiencing this torment instead of you.
When it's over you feel weak and faint.
When you awoke, you were back in your bedroom, your mother sitting on a chair beside you. She reached out to touch you and you flinched terrified, letting out a loud sob.
As you awaken in your bedroom, you see your mother sitting beside your bed on a chair. She reaches out to touch you, but flinches when she sees that you are terrified of her and immediately backs away.
"Shh⊠it's alright," Your mother says softly, trying to comfort you. "You're safe now, my dear.â you want to scream âLIARâ at her as she speaks, saying you were safe. You felt horrible and terror filled your body.
Mason enters the room and stands at the foot of the bed with his arms crossed over his chest, watching silently as your mother tries to calm you down.
"You did well today," he says coolly. "Thanks for receiving His love."
Although his words are praised-like, they do nothing to produce any emotion or feeling from him. He watches you, shaking and looking like a terrified animal, like a lamb who barely escaped the slaughter. He wants to say more but knows nothing he says will help you.
It was like seeing a ghost, his little dove no longer did as they usually did. There were no more sweet smiles or hymns sung as chores were completed, no more treats baked with trays especially reserved for Mason. Instead his dove was shut away, in their room, only going out for meals and sermons or whenever their parents coaxed them out.
Mason notices the change in your behavior and it bothers him deeply. He cannot help but wonder if he's partly responsible for what happened to you.
One day, he decides to visit you in your room. When he enters, you are sitting alone by the window staring out at the sky. You look up when you hear him come in.
"Little dove," Mason says softly as he approaches you. "I'm here to talk with you.â
There's a slight tremble in his voice - an unusual vulnerability that shows that even someone like him has feelings.
"I know that things have been difficult for you lately," he continues, taking a seat beside you on the bed. "But I want you to understand that everything we do is for the greater good of our commune and our faith."
He places a hand on yours and looks into your eyes with deep concern.
"You can always talk with me if there's something troubling you."
You stared blankly back. "I am fine. I've been cleansed by the knife.â You whispered softly and finally looked at him with vacant and distant eyes.
Mason nods slowly, sensing that there's something you're not telling him.
"I see," he says quietly. "But I can see that you're still hurting inside. And I want to help you."
He takes a deep breath and continues, "Little dove, I know that the sacrifice was traumatic for you. But it was necessary for our faith. You were chosen because we believe that your spirit is strong enough to endure it."
He pauses for a moment, his eyes searching her face.
"But if you're still feeling lost or confused⊠You can talk to me about it. Remember: Our faith is in everything."
"I used to play the piano. Right? Or did I sing? My memory is confusing.â You looked up at him, sadly. Shaking slightly as you stared at nothing. âI don't know who I am anymore, Mason. I'm scared.â
Mason furrows his brow slightly, unsure of what you are trying to say. He doesn't remember you ever playing any instrument.
"I'm not sure what you mean, little dove," he says with a frown. "What are you talking about?â
"I don't remember who I was before the sacrifice. Who was i? Who am I now? I'm scared Mason, so scared. Who was I before you drove the knife into me?â
Mason freezes at your words, his mind processing what you just said. He stands up from the bed and takes a few steps away from you, his face contorted with shock. He thought you'd forgotten he'd been the one to do it.
"What are you talking about?" he asks harshly. "I never drove the knife into you, little dove."
His voice is cold and hard, and there's a hint of anger in it.
"Who told you such lies? You are mistaken. Your mind is playing tricks on you dove." Mason mutters as he knelt between your thighs, grasping your hands in his and squeezing them. âFret not little dove, your mind will get better.â
"May our Lord have mercy on your soul." It's spoken in a mockery of Mason's voice. You looked at him slightly confused, "That's what you spoke, right? Unless um, I misheard⊠but it sounded like you-â
Mason's eyes widen in realization as you speak. He takes a step closer to you, his expression softening.
"Oh, little doveâŠ" he says softly, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I'm sorry you had to go through this."
He pauses for a moment before continuing.
"You are right⊠It was me who drove the knife into your heart. I did it because our Lord told me so in a vision - it was His will that you be sacrificed.â
Mason cups your face gently and looks into your eyes with compassion.
"But please believe me when I say that everything we do is for the greater good of our faith. Your family has devoted their lives to serving Him."
âY-you did? But- w-why? It hurt- a lot-â You were working yourself up into a panic before he gently pressed a kiss to your forehead. âHush, little dove, you're recovering, do not strain yourself, you know why. In order to cleanse you, now enough of this. Rest and cease thinking about such things further.â
Mason looks away from you for a moment, his eyes full of sadness.
"I know you're not thinking clearly right now," he says quietly. "But I still feel responsible for what happened to you. I know that you must hate me now⊠But please understand that it was never my intention to hurt you."
He takes a deep breath and continues, "All I wanted is to protect our faith and people from the evil in this world. Sacrifices are painful, but they purify our souls and make us stronger - so we can better serve Him.â Mason murmured and hugged you tightly to his chest.
"I f-feel upset. You're supposed to protect me, yet you drove a knife into me and now that- that everyone in the commune saw it- i- I'll be alone forever and my parents won't find me a spouse.â Your lip wobbled and you sniffled slightly, clinging to him. You were unable to see his cruel and satisfied smile as he held you, petting your hair softly.
Mason listens to your words with a sinking heart. He knows that it is true - he did drive the knife into you, and that decision has caused you so much pain.
"I⊠I had no choice," he says quietly, almost to himself. "It was His will."
Fake tears glisten in his eyes as Mason looks at you, finally realizing the weight of his actions.
"You're right," he says softly. "I should have protected you, not hurt you. I cannot change what happened now⊠But I promise you this: I will do everything in my power to help you recover from this. Starting right now.â
Mason gently kisses you, his lips pressing against yours as he speaks. âI'll remedy this immediately, you and I shall marry. That way you won't be alone.â He doesn't give you a moment to speak, already pressing you against the bed, kissing you deeply now.
You let out a muffled noise of confusion and panic, squirming underneath him and pushing at his chest. His lips finally move away only to seek your neck and leave bites and bruises upon it as you gasped and whimpered. âA-ah! M-mason- wait- p-please hold on- i-â
His head lifts up, looking at you with his eyes blown wide as he grunts an acknowledgement to your words, âYes my dove? Sh, it's alright, who better to take responsibility than the one responsible for your misfortunes? Relax, or would you rather this happen at the altar later? Where everyone, will see and hear you?â
You trembled slightly the idea of that happening terrifying you to your core yet feeling slightly exhilarating. Mason grinned, feeling you relax and continued making his way to your waist.
Mason kissed down until he reached your entrance, humming softly as he placed his hands firmly on your squirming thighs, grunting loudly as he forced them open. âEnough of that, do not do that again or I will have to tie you down. Understood little dove?â
You nodded, or tried to as you gasped softly and whimpered out a moan at the feeling of his tongue licking and sucking at your entrance, no one had ever touched you there. âMhmph! M-mason! Hng- t-too much!â
Mason puts a comforting hand on your thighs. He pulls away from between your thighs, face covered in his own saliva and your fluids that ran down your inner thighs.
"I understand that it can be scary, little dove. But I promise you, nothing will harm you here with me."
He gives you a reassuring smile. Breathing heavily as he speaks, his fingers finding their way to your still quivering entrance which he circled a finger around.
"Besides, my love for you is as pure as the intentions of our God. All we have to do is make love and everything will be alright.â
Mason's finger breached your entrance, slick with something that made it easier to handle, slowly thrusting his finger in and out. He gave you plenty of reassurance and pressed kisses to your thighs and stomach.
âDove, you must relax, you're still clenching up and tensing up. You'll hurt yourself more than me if you don't relax.â With those words he sunk another finger inside, his free hand pinning your hips down to the bed when he felt you buck upwards.
Mason grunted as he felt your tight heat around his fingers, if you were this tight around his fingers you'd never be able to fully take all of his cock. He didn't want to hurt you more than necessary, not yet at least.
âSh, sh dove, easy there we go, good little pet.â He murmured as you whimpered and moaned, feeling his fingers hit something inside of you that had you unable to breath. You heaved slightly and looked down at him through tearful eyes.
âM-mason- please- ngh! That feelsâŠ.. mhm! Good-â You moaned out and let your head drop against the pillows, falling into a dream-like state as you allowed him to continue. âM-moreâŠ. Please give me more-â
Mason grinned at your words, a sinister gleam in his eyes before he cooed and slid his fingers out, shushing your confused whines with a simple kiss before he undressed himself and tore your remaining clothes off.
"As our Lord wishes," he whispers between kisses, his voice reverent yet filled with desire.
Mason aligned his cock with your entrance, sliding it through your messy thighs first to coat it before he spread your legs and slowly sunk in.
âP-please, please be mhmph! Gentle, please Mason?â You whimpered softly, eyes locked on him as he looked down at you, mouth drying when he saw your flushed and tear stained cheeks.
Mason looks down at you with tender eyes, his hand running up and down your side soothingly.
"I will take care of you, little dove," he says softly. "I promise."
With a gentle but firm motion, Mason fully enters you, slowly thrusting in and out of your body. His movements are gentle at first, but soon become more passionate as the intensity increases.
As he fucks you, Mason whispers religious phrases to you: "pray to me", "I am your God", "repent for your sins". He continues kissing and caressing every inch of your body, making sure that you are comfortable throughout the entire ordeal. Even as he feels you twitching around his cock, your own fluids covering both his cock and your thighs and stomach. How many orgasms had he wrung from your body? Five? Ten? You lost count.
He's filled you up more times than you can count, you thought he was trying to breed you and knock you up the way he came and came. You couldn't move as you moaned and whimpered, unable to speak much less move and do something about him fucking your sensitive body.
When he's finished, Mason pulls himself out and lays down beside you, holding you close to him. The room is silent except for the sound of breathing as you both catch your breath after Mason seemed to fill you up so much a slight bulge could be seen, you shifted trying to get comfortable yet only felt his cum leaking out your spent hole.
"Sleep now, little dove," he whispers softly into your ear. "We have obeyed our Lord's wishes. Soon enough tomorrow, we will marry and you'll live with me, my perfect little dove who won't have to do anything but obey and listen.â
You fell asleep, cuddled into his side as he looked down at you, a possessive look in his eyes. He'd deal with the consequences of your parents finding you two together in the morning for now, he'd happily hold his little dove and admire the marks he gifted them.
Mason stays awake, holding you close to him throughout the night. As the sun begins to rise and light filters through the window of your private quarters, he kisses your forehead again before getting up.
"I must leave now, little dove," he says quietly. "But know that I am always here for you."
As he dresses in his priestly vestments, Mason turns back to look at you, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"Now go back to sleep and rest as much as possible. And remember what we did was pure love. Our wedding will be soon.â
He leans down and places a soft kiss on your lips before making his way out of your room and back into the world outside.
