Fliegenpilz, Amanita musearia;

reindeer in Finland and Siberia apparently discovered the intoxicating effect of the mushroom and humans imitated this behavior and believed that they could gain prophetic powers to communicate with the reindeer. Exept from halucinations and depression, a healthy adult would have to eat at least one kilogram to be in danger of dying.
